I saw Jordan years ago for a hip issue, and the results were honestly kind of miraculous. I haven't had a problem since. So when I developed a shoulder issue more recently, I knew I wanted to go back to him even though it meant a 30+ minute subway ride across town instead of using a place closer to home. I actually tried the closer option first, and the difference was night and day. That spot felt like a numbers game, where they'd run me through some exercises and check in every so often, with almost no hands-on work. Jordan is the opposite. He spent real time understanding the actual problem instead of just going off the orthopedist's diagnosis on paper. Yes, he gave me exercises to do during the week, but he also did serious hands-on treatment, including manipulation and deep tissue work on the area, the kind of thing that actually gets to the root of the issue instead of just managing around it. I'm a Pilates instructor and have dealt with back pain for a while, and whenever I've had flare-ups, Jordan has always been so hands-on, attentive, and creative with the exercises he gives me. I met Dr. Jordan through my martial arts (capoeira) group in NYC. On one of my visits to New York, Dr. Jordan took me to the gym he was working out and we had a training session where he watched my form for barbell squats and bench pressing- among other lifting exercises. He was able to provide critique and insight on how to improve my form for these exercises to lower the possibility of injury. Since then, I have also met with him through zoom for some physical therapy sessions- as a capoeirista, he understands how some of the movements we work on in class can cause strain or pain in certain parts of our body. He has helped me with exercises to stretch painful areas such as my hip flexors. As a lash artist I constantly deal with Neck, shoulder, elbow and wrist pain from bad posture and over use of certain muscles. Dr. Jordan was able to give a thorough diagnosis of the areas causing me problems through a series of movements and questions he was able to see over Zoom, where I was having issues. He gave me certain stretches and exercises to do to help and I have been doing them inbetween clients and workouts. My neck and shoulder pain has significantly been reduced due to his help. I highly recommend him! He is very knowledgeable and even through zoom he is able to diagnose the issue through watching my movements and seeing my response. When I went to Jordan I had a nagging shoulder problem that was bothering me for months. I couldn't lift my arms up without pain, and for someone who workouts regularly it was really frustrating since it prevented me from executing a lot of movements. I had recently undergone a complete double mastectomy and had hyper sensitivity/pain/tight skin, etc. when I was introduced to Jordan via a mutual friend. He worked with me virtually (across the country, in fact) to figure out my specific limitations and personal goals. Honestly, I had resigned myself to being in chronic pain for potentially the rest of my life (at the ripe age of 24!), assuming I had developed Post Mastectomy Pain Syndrome (PMPS), which has no known treatment/cure. My partner pushed me to seek out something beyond just the usual CBD, THC, Tylenol, etc. I was skeptical that a light PT regime & wearing rougher shirts would be effective at all. I was shocked that after just two weeks of Jordan's thoughtful PT regimen (and an Rx of daily Neurontin) I was able to feel in control of my pain for the first time. I told Jordan in our first meeting that my goal through PT was to be able to surf (or start learning how to surf), but honestly with the level of constant pain & discomfort I was in, didn't expect to be able to do that for at least 6 months to a year.
