Everything was going fine until after we bought the car. I received and filled out a Honda survey being as honest and fair as I could be. Evidently, if you don't give Honda and Silko a perfect review expect a text from your salesperson saying you ruined their life. After the 4th micro aggressive text I had to block his number. Disingenuous, dishonest, deceptive sales practices... if it were possible to give them negative stars I would. I don't usually rate car dealerships but our experience was so awful it would be a disservice not to warn other Yelpers. We received a very good offer via the internet (we used a car buying service to get the offer), we called ahead to let them know we were coming, and got to the dealership literally 3 hours after the e-mailed offer. We were told when we got there that they did not have the car on their lot. After the usual car dealer "I have to check with my manager" stalling tactic, they came back with a price ~$2,000 higher than what they quoted in their e-mail. We declined the offer. I e-mailed the internet salesperson Katherine when we got home, to complain about their bait-and-switch offer. Her prompt reply was that the car we were interested in is popular (which we knew) and (a direct quote) "do not last long 'in stock'." Huh? The showroom was nearly empty, the sales manager we spoke to said "We might have had one in stock over the weekend that sold...", and Katherine expects us to believe that the car on which she sent us a quote sold in the 3 hours between her sending the quote and/or the 1 hour between our calling ahead and our arrival at the dealership? What an demeaning and insulting reply.... Horrible, awful, people. A complete waste of my wife's and my afternoon.... read more

Shopping around and ready to buy a car. I test drove a "certified" preowned CRV Touring 2018 for $33,898 At Silko Honda. Their 1st offer to me was around $39,000. They layered tons of extras on the base price price. The charge for the "certification" of the car was unbelievable. I have been car shopping at a number of places and this the only dealership that is adding certification to the advertised price. It does not feel like it is an honest way to do business. In my search for a new CR-V, I visited every Honda dealership in Eastern Mass, either by phone or in person. Silko stood out. They didn't start off as the cheapest option, but in negotiations subsequent to my visit, they never reneged on a price they had put forth, and they ended up getting to be the best price. When I went for the purchase, they honored the price they had suggested. That was not the case with Kellys, Herb Chambers, or Honda Gallery (all of whom backed away from pricing they had suggested - Kellys even reneged on written quotes). Silko was true to their word, didn't try to slip any numbers past me, had the best service package (lifetime powertrain warranty on top of manufacturer warranty!!!), and Mike the salesguy put a ton of time working with us, showing us features of the car that no other dealership seemed aware of, and gave helpful tips in the sales process. I know he is out for him, but he did a good job of making me feel like he respected us...that was a novel experience in 2 months of car shopping! He even picked me up from the commuter rail so I could come buy the car when I didn't have a ride to get out to Raynham. Even day of purchase, I had limited time to work with, and their entire team made me felt like honoring my time constraints was a priority. I deeply appreciated their efforts. I'll be curious to see how their service goes. The only thing that gave me pause was that their pricing for wheel locks were literally twice as much as every other dealership...but since I dealt only in my out-the-door price including wheel locks, and they beat or matched all other offers I had found, it was a moot point. But I wonder how that will translate to the economics of getting serviced there. We shall see. read more

Usually, the car buying expensive is painful but I was quite impressed with Silko. They really provided great customer service and made us feel like valued customers. I have brought 3 cars from Silko Honda . I have always gone back because of there good service but Saturday was the worst I have ever been treated . I drive 35 minutes to go to Silko but after this trip I won't go back . I talked to the service supervisor and all he said I will talk to the Service man Dino . My car glass on the hatchback was shattered I took it to Safelite to get it repaired. Only to be told that they could not put my windshield wiper back on the hatchback window because the nut they said was corroded and if they try to get the night off they would break it and I would have to purchase a new motor for the windshield wiper. I had a horrible experience here at Silko Honda. They sold me a car they didn't have the title to and gave me faulty paperwork so when I got pulled over the police told me this dealership "royally screwed me" and could have got me arrested for driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle despite them telling me it was fine. Then they tried to get me to trade to a different car because they needed to sort the title out (which they claimed would take 2-3 weeks) and tried to get to me agree, to for the same price, get a car that was a year older and had 10,000 + miles on it due to it having a spoiler and rims. umm no thank you. I was so insulted. Then they took my car for over a week to get the registration, title and inspection sorted out and called me in to get it, had me wait for THREE hours only to tell me they locked the title away and couldn't get it to me. So they essentially returned it to me with nothing done (the registration and inspection which they agreed to do were not there). Please do yourself a big favor and keep driving down the street to Toyota. I really wish I did. read more

Bought my last car from them recently. I leased 3 and bought a used SUV in February 2018. I drove the car sparingly and had a few major issues in June. When I brought to the dealership I was quoted almost $1800 to fix the issue that was likely already present when I purchased the vehicle. I requested they at least consider me as a repeat customer and consider absorbing some of the cost but was disappointed that they were not willing to cover any costs. I subsequently brought it to a local mechanic where he fixed all the issues for almost a 50% reduction in Silko's quote at approximately $860.00. I would also advise that they employ a bait and switch style when you inquire about a vehicle. You will never meet the person you talk to on the phone or exchange E-mails with and they will often send multiple folks when you are in negotiation to talk to you in an attempt to trick you into agreeing for things that you previously said no to. They also automatically put lug nut locks on all used vehicles and charge you for them separately. When I asked them to remove them they were unwilling to. Very unsatisfied former customer here. Our experience was a good one. Like all dealerships you are there for most of your day and have to stick to what you believe in. Our salesman Heath, was pleasant and worked his hardest. In the end we purchased a 2019 CRV and love it. Silko offers a buy one get one oil change which is awesome and they offer a lifetime warranty on the powertrain. Terrible, disappointing experience with Silko Honda. Avoid. In our car search we emailed area dealers and Silko came back with the best quote. Having heard about bait and switch tactics at other dealers, we called ahead to confirm that the quote was legit and that it was for the car we wanted (4 door, automatic, civic LX). We checked Yelp reviews (strange how there are 35 negative "unrecommended reviews" but all the recommended ones are somehow positive...) but things seemed ok so we drove down, an hour from home. When we arrived we immediately felt ill-at-ease. Kind of a sleazy vibe like you'd expect from the old car salesman cliche. We didn't even get to the door before someone was shaking my husband's hand and asking him for his full name.(why do you need his last name when you haven't given yours? and why do you need so much info from my husband before you even greet me when I'm the one who's been talking with your dealership?) Finally we sat down with a salesman and showed him our print-out of the email offer. We asked if they could throw in any extras like floor mats, and pointed out that their documentation fee seemed high. The salesman wrote it all down and went to "talk to his manager." Five minutes later he came back and said, "look, the price went up $99." They claimed their quote did not include "wheel locks," which we neither requested nor wanted. The manager said he wouldn't take them off because it would cost more to take them off than the wheel locks are worth. He kept going back and forth between offering the original price and insisting they had to charge the $99 extra for the wheel locks (by the way, the Honda website clearly states that wheel locks cost $56, which means I'm sure they're even cheaper for the dealer). Finally the manager WROTE DOWN THE ORIGINAL PRICE AGAIN and said we could buy it for that plus tax, title, etc. We said we'd go outside to talk about it. We were really turned off by the hostility but decided that if they would honor the original price we would still buy from them. When we came back and said he could live with the original offer with no extras, the salesman went to back to the manager and came back having highlighted the disclaimer on the email that said "accessories extra" and said the wouldn't agree to the original price, which remember the manager had just told me they would agree to. Apparently "accessories extra" to them means the dealer would decide what accessories we would be getting and paying extra for, starting with wheel locks. We spent an hour with them arguing over a $99 (again, really $56) feature we didn't want and it was clear that if we gave in on that there would've been a bunch more "surprise" features we'd be paying for as soon we looked at the actual car. By the way, every time the salesman stepped away, there was another salesman sitting with his back to us a few feet away who was obviously texting what we were saying to our salesman because whenever our guy would come back he would respond to what we'd been discussing. But I guess that's probably par for the course. To be honest, we would have happily paid $99 over the original asking price if they had been upfront with us and said "this includes wheel locks." We didn't leave over the money, we left because we could tell we couldn't trust these guys and we were going to have to fight them all day to get a real quote out of them. This is the kind of place that gives car salesmen a bad name. Avoid at all costs. read more

I was looking for a lease or a semi-used car after mine died so I was told by my fiancé that I should try Silko to see what they had (she has always had a good experience with them) so I went out around 3:30 on a Sunday and asked if Chris Casey was there (thats who my fiance dealt with) but he wasn't there so they set me up with Don Sullivan. Don seemed nice enough at first, I told him that I was looking for either a lease or a nicer used car. After test driving a used car we went over prices and I said I might be more interested in a lease but Don was persistent that I buy this car and he would try to help on the payments but it just really wasn't what I was looking for. After going through some B.S. with him I was just really turned off by the whole progress and I said I'm just going to have to discuss this with my fiance before I make a final decision on anything. He laughed and questioned why I would want to do that. I said it's a pretty big decision to make and he was upset that I didn't buy a car that night. He also said that he stayed an extra half hour with me when he could have been home (boo-hoo I'd rather not be here either). I left and went home. The next day, I went to another dealership and ended up leasing a new car there, everything went very smoothly, Don called me up while I was actually finalizing the deal (to see if I was still interested in the used car) and I told him that I had leased a new car. He asked if my fiance was there with me and I said yes, she is and there was an awkward silence and then he just hung up on me. We just bought a car from Silko and our experience was quite pleasant. Most readers of this review will have noticed that there isn't a single dealership that has overwhelmingly positive reviews, and we are under no impression that Silko is this one place that shines blue rays. But I'm convinced that if you behave a certain way then you can relatively quickly find a reasonable dealer to work with, and I guess you might as well try Silko, although be fully prepared to move on (read below). This is the rules that we learned during the car buying process (mostly applies to NEW cars!): * TAKE YOUR TIME! * Do research online. Talk to people you know, read bulleting boards, edmunds, kbb, etc. * Do one round of test-drives of every car that you could think of buying. Do not buy the car at this stage at any price. Everyone will do the same dance with you. You will try the car, they will explain to you the features, some other guy will come and ask you if he can do anything to stop you from shopping any further. Ignore the dance and remember that your ONLY goal at this point is to try all cars from your list. * Upon completing all test-drives do the research once again and make sure you know the exact make, model, edition and packages that you want. * Start bidding online. Contrary to what you may think by the number of people employed by dealerships, there is NOTHING to discuss with a sales person other than when you do the paperwork. They don't know anything that Edmunds or kbb or Carpoint don't know and even if they did the picture they would give you would be so skewed. Do you honestly expect a Honda salesperson to give you a fair comparison of Accord vs Camry? (Note: we bought a Honda but not because of anything we learned at the Honda dealerships that we had visited.) * All internet sales departments know that you will get a better deal through them. They will actually encourage you first to come over and talk to somebody in person. That way the dealer will likely make more money. Why? Because 1. They are at their workplace, and you just drove to some place far from your home 2. They are professional salespeople, and you have no experience doing this. 3. They see these cars all days, and you are probably excited at the prospect of having a new shiny thing in your driveway. 4. Many salespeople will lie in your face over anything if it suits their interest. You will not because you're under the impression that lying is a bad thing. The odds are skewed severely not in your favor. All you want at this point is a price. The internet department can give it to you. * Negotiate with at least 15-20 dealers. Some of them are too far but it doesn't matter. You can use their offers as basis for negotiation with others, and you want to know the market. Quickly you will understand what a reasonable price looks like. * Once you like the price GET A VIN of the vehicle that they say they have for you. Dealers can lie about their inventory to make you come to them hoping you will be afraid to have wasted too much time. If this happens to you, always walk out right away. * Ask for all fees and taxes, have them email you the total break-down including the out-the-door price. * When you come to the dealer, have the price and the VIN. Say that you are here to buy THIS car at THIS price. Refuse to "discuss" anything else. Test-drive your car again to make sure you still like it. Start the paperwork. I will not cover financing since this depends on your credit history, etc. You should come to the dealer with the full understanding of how you will do it. The dealership is NOT the place where you should decide on that. * Refuse ALL options that they will offer. The funny thing is that when we did financing the finance manager (a nice lady) started saying things that no salesperson would ever say to a customer: "Well, sure Hondas have 3 years of warranty but what will happen NEXT? You need extended insurance". Oh, really? Why am I buying Honda then? The truth is you don't need anything that they offer to you. And if you do you can get it separately for much lower. * Once everything is signed, you're good to go. In our case we probably spent roughly an hour at the dealership, which is reasonable given how much paperwork you need to do. We knew exactly what we wanted. They knew that we knew and they didn't try anything funny. I hope that at the end everyone's happy. read more

I purchased a 2010 Honda Fit last weekend from Silko and it was my 2nd purchase from this dealer. The first time around their finance department did me a HUGE solid, but this time I came with a pre-approval and did all of my homework. I got to the dealership at 9:45am for my 10am appointment and was met by salesman Mike. I told him what I wanted and that I was pre-approved, but we still went through the usual dealership bullshit for about 90 minutes before we took the test drive. Once that was done it's now noon and Im ready to buy, but Silko spent far too much time asking if I wanted to apply for financing through Honda even after I said no 4 times... As with all dealerships the waiting around is just painful and Mike must've told me a dozen time he wasnt with any other customers despite my insistance that he move on. (Despite his nervousness throughout the process, he was a very good salesman and I'd recommend him.) Finally...after 5 1/2 hours in this place, the sale was done and I drove off the lot. Very bad experience looking to purchase a used Honda Civic here. I was helping my girlfriend look for a car. The salesman, Dave, was pushy and pressured her to buy on the spot. When she told him she was not ready to purchase, he demeaned her by telling her buying a car is high pressure and you need to make up your mind. It was incredible. They wasted our time and attempted to have my girlfriend sign a document to purchase the vehicle without explaining what the document meant. Terrible experience. Also, they lied to us that they discounted the rate for us; when we checked online, they just gave us the internet price. Pushy and shady sales techniques. On the plus-side, their final deal was not terrible. The car was nice, and they explained its options and features well. The Silko lifetime warranty was explained and seems like a good deal. Perhaps you will have a better experience there if you go, I hope you do. I would suggest that if you see a car you like go, and ask for someone other than Dave. Kind of a typical dealership with some of the games and "let me talk to the sales manager" BS. We leased a Honda CR-V in July 2015 and the experience was mostly good and we like the free oil changes that came with SilkoCare and the peace of mind that leasing offers. The problem came in while we explored end-of-lease options with them. First, they said we had nearly zero equity after 3 years despite only having 16k miles on the top EX-L model. Then a few months later one of the internet sales managers called and asked us to bring in the car for evaluation and they said we could move into a new CR-V lease as the demand for our 2015 CR-V was very high. We live about 45 minutes away so we were skeptical to drive there so we called and talked to a second person to make sure the trip would not be wasted. We made the trip on a Saturday and they told us that the existing deals are on the HR-V model, not the CR-V. We were very angry so Kevin came over and offered us a free oil change and they washed our car at our request. We expected an email apology and an offer to continue to do business with them but we're still waiting. I think we're done with this dealership and will move on and we'll either buy out lease out or explore other dealers with good lease options as they vary month to month. read more

I had scheduled an appointment with Emilio who was referred to me. Our infant daughter was with us and Emilio tended to our needs quickly and efficiently on a busy Saturday.
