Beyond her talent, Nicole is always warm, upbeat, and welcoming. She has a great sense of when I'm in the mood to chat and when I just want to relax and enjoy some quiet time, which I really appreciate. I had never been before, so I spent at least 30 min looking at everything before purchasing something. Guy at counter kept an eye on me and came by twice to check on me, but told me to take my time (which I planned to). I didn't feel rushed and disrepected like many of these places. Selection is huge-bulk hair, crochet braids, track hair, ponytails, wigs, hats, sexy clothes, jewelry, hair products, etc. A little of everything for everyone. I wanted distressed crochet braids, not butterfly locs, in a 14". Which they didnt have. I got something else that I immediately regretted when I got home, but not the shop's fault. Some of the hair is a bit pricey, and there is limited color in some products. But overall a nice place.

I let her know that I was given a $40 less quote a month ago over the phone. She told me I was given the wrong information and would need to pay what she charged on my card. Being fustrated by this, I sent a message to Maddy to let her know. She said she would credit me back the $40. I never received back the credit. Despite me being disappointed by all of this, I still decided to call this week to book another appointment with Maddy because she did a great job with my hair. There were three men working. The men were working register, stocking shelves, and assisting customers. There was also a young lady working there doing wig installs. (She wanted to remain anonymous) She assisted me with finding a particular gel and went back to her customer. I am not experienced with any of the things I needed, so I was talking asking her questions, about what I needed. During the conversation, she said that she braided hair. So, I made an appt. She quoted me an amount of $30 (5-braid style) from the list the owner provided and asked me to return at 5pm. I paid for my items, (a pack of hair, gel & mousse) and left. When I returned, four hours later ready for my appt., the young lady sadly pointed to a new list on the mirror. The owner changed the pricing. Instead of the $30 I was quoted, the price was now $80!!! The owner was still there, and I asked could I speak to him. I explained the situation and said, that changing a price of anything is not a fair business practice, especially after a quote. I went on to say, if you want to change the pricing, why not have it start the following day, instead of at the end of a business day and not honor the pricing that was in place, earlier that day? The owner stated that he owned eight stores, and this was the only store that offered this service, and he didn't want to continue providing that service. I said why don't you just end the service instead of up charging customers? He didn't have an answer and offered to reduce the amount from $80 to $50. I thanked him, smiled, and told him that he lacked integrity and that is a reflection on his character. I went back to the young lady and relayed the conversation. She was so sweet and offered to pay the difference out of her own pocket! I told her "Absolutely Not" and that I had the money, it was the principle. I asked her out of the $30 original quote, what was her percentage? She said he gave her $5!!! The situation bothered her so much, that she quit. She already had her own successful braiding, makeup, and eyelash application business. If you've been to this store, then you will know who she is. She had a flyer up on the mirror with her contact info. I hooked up with her a week later and got my hair braided and it was beautiful!! I try to support local businesses as much as possible, but based on how THIS owner treats his customer and how be belittles his employees, I will NEVER purchase from this store again, or from any of his other stores. Even the guys (his friends) that worked there felt bad but were too scared to speak up. Because he owns so many stores, he doesn't value the people that afforded him this business, with the majority of those being Black and Afro Americans. I understand the convenience, but I compared his products, and he is highly overpriced. The same items he sells, can be purchased on Amazon or at Walmart for much cheaper. This owner is taking advantage of the customers in every way. I went here for the first time right before Thanksgiving to get my hair cut and blown out. I hadn't…read morehad a hair cut for a really long time so I figured it was time to get a professional cut. I didn't expect much since I have been let down so many times by stylists but I had a good experience here. I was advised to go early so I got to the shop around 8 am and my wash started within 30-45 minutes. I have waited much longer than that in other salons so I was ok with that. The process started with the wash and condition, then sit under the dryer, then rinse and rollers, then sit under the dryer, then blow dry with and EXTREMELY HOT blow dryer, then cut then flat iron. Now my hair is very curly and Milvia was able to get my hair bone straight with the blow dryer. I have never seen that before but I can only guess that if my hair didn't do well with high heat I would definitely have some heat damage (it took three washes for my curls to revive and bounce back...remember I mainly only went to have my hair cut but my hair curls unevenly so it is better to cut is when straight). So after all of this my hair looked AMAZING and stayed straight for about a week and a half before I felt it was time to wash it. I only had to touch up my edges a couple times which is great because I wanted to avoid putting any additional heat on my hair. The price was reasonable so I would definitely go back.

The extra stars really goes for the face that this location is convenient, has what I need and right next door to Ulta so I can do all my beauty shopping in one plaza. I'm a Sally's fan. I even paid to be a member to get discounts and "free" gifts for the past 3 years. I overheard recently that the membership has changed and is free now, but I'll find out in December during my renewal time. I always get freebies because I spend a lot of dough in here. Mainly because as a curly/frizzy hairs person I use tons of conditioner and I fell in love with an argan oil brand that is sold here. I get the professional size and when there's a BoGo I go crazy with it. They started opening until 9:00 pm instead of 7pm a few years ago which works out a lot better for me. They also started carrying OPI nail polish a few years ago and have decent sales on it. The sales are pretty awesome if you can catch them.
