I am so glad I did -- it turned out to be one of the best nail experiences I've had in a very long time. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the kindest, most thoughtful women. They asked about my needs and genuinely cared about making me comfortable. I started with a spa pedicure that was absolutely AMAZING -- relaxing, thorough, and without any push to upsell me on extra services (such a relief!). The technician took her time trimming my cuticles, smoothing away calluses, and then treated me to one of the most soothing foot and leg massages I've ever had. Between the warm water and the massage, I honestly didn't want to leave the chair. After my pedicure, I moved on to a French manicure with Cindy. My nails were in rough shape because I hadn't had them done in quite a while, but Cindy approached them with such care, skill, and patience. She was meticulous with my cuticles and clearly experienced -- I didn't have to micromanage anything. She instinctively knew the right length, shape, and tone for my nails, and the results were absolutely beautiful. We finished with hot towels and another relaxing massage -- the perfect final touch. New York City has thousands of nail salons to choose from, but FLAIRE NAILS truly stands out. In this fast-paced city, it's rare to find a place where you can slow down, be treated with genuine warmth and kindness, and walk out feeling pampered with gorgeous nails -- all at very reasonable prices. She added, "State, you freaking Americans always want something free." I used to go to her salon when I moved to the city six years ago, but stopped because my nails kept breaking and cracking. The next day, I went back to get her contact info and report what happened. She called the police because I was talking to her, and I asked her to lower her voice and stop yelling because I wanted to have a conversation and tell her that's not how you treat customers. She refused, continued yelling, "Get out, get out! I had to go to work." So, I waited outside for the police. I explained to them what had happened. After going to Miki, my nails became so strong and long, and people are always surprised when I tell them they are my natural nails, with no extensions or anything over them. She did my nails for my engagement, bridal, wedding, and baby shower, and I would not trust anyone else to do it for all my special occasions. I get the same thing every time I get my nails done. Same color, same amount of coats, and same length; I have NEVER had a whole nail pop off or chip this badly one day after getting them done. It was also extremely uncleanly. I didn't see them sanitize a cuticle cuter or nail clipper before passing them from one customer to the next once. They also asked me to pay AND TIP before I even got the service done. I have never had a place ask me to tip them, let alone before the service was even completed before. Tipping is a complementary touch, which I always do. I paid $35 (plus the tip they asked me for upfront) for a manicure I will now have to redo myself one day after getting them done. Don't waste your time or money.
