To dine here is to abandon pretension at the door and embrace the primal pleasure of cracking, pulling, and diving headlong into a generously heaped platter of shellfish. The portions are commendable; there is no sense of restraint here, and the kitchen makes no apologies for it. The service, too, deserves particular note -- attentive, personable, and clearly well-versed in the menu, with staff offering recommendations that feel genuine rather than rehearsed. The atmosphere strikes an enjoyable balance between lively and welcoming, accommodating everyone from boisterous groups to families with young children with equal ease. Where Crab Boil has room to grow is in the depth and complexity of its seasoning. The foundations are sound, but the spice blends -- while pleasant -- do not yet achieve the kind of resonant, layered intensity that elevates a seafood boil from enjoyable to truly memorable. One leaves content, yet with a quiet sense that the kitchen's full potential remains just slightly untapped. A spirited and generous table -- one that rewards those who come hungry, sleeves rolled, and ready to revel.

It's clear they take pride in their little establishment. It is small, so be sure to reserve if you can! I wasn't as fond of the house sauce as I am at other places, and some of the crab pieces were a bit hollow. What it lacked in some spots, it made up in others; tons of variety, like poutine and pasta and salads. A solid choice for the west end, but if you're willing to go to brampton or toronto, there are other spots to consider.

But this place, located in a plaza on the southeast corner of Mavis & Eglinton, dispelled any negative notions I had about seafood boil restaurants. The place was very cozy, as myself and my three other lunch companions fit into a booth. We arrived right when the place opened, but soon space was getting limited as the lunch rush came to pass. And we could see why throughout our meal. We all ordered non-alcoholic mojitos first, with our choice of fruit syrup flavour; I selected pineapple. Then we each ordered our respective boil buckets; I went with shrimp and crawfish with corn and potatoes in the restaurant's namesake sauce. The servers brought the boil bags and emptied the contents onto our place, providing a dizzy aroma of spices, oil and garlic that would remain on our fingers all day. We also bought extra servings of rice to sop up the leftover sauce after our seafood was consumed. My shrimps and crawfish (which I haven't had in some time) were all finger-licking delicious, thanks to the Seau de Crabe sauce that infused every bit of meat inside the crustaceans. I would go back for future visits, seeing as how my family loves seafood, and it's not too far from our place in Mississauga!

They had an awesome breakfast omelette station with a very nice chef. The options for breakfast were plentiful and some items changed every day. On our last night, we decided to try their dinner menu. I had the Seafood Fettuccine & my mom had the grilled mahi mahi. Wasn't much of a fan of the grilled mahi mahi but it was a very healthy and well-balanced dish. The seafood fettuccine I had was so good though. So creamy with hints of tomato and perfectly fused seafood flavor from the generous amounts of seafood they put in the pasta. Mussels, salmon, and shrimp is what I recall was in there. The food isn't cheap but it's what you'd expect from a hotel restaurant. The place is really spacious; tons of seating. The workers are nothing but friendly as well.

Service & Atmosphere: Five Stars The service here was truly exceptional... super quick, genuinely friendly, and so very kind. From seating to check out, the staff was attentive and really made the experience a pleasure. The interior is decorated well with a fun, slightly nautical vibe, but my absolute favorite feature was the artistic touch on the way to the restroom. There are these vibrant wall paintings that are clearly designed to be photo ops, and I loved that they encouraged patrons to snap a picture. It's those little details that really elevate the atmosphere! The Captain's Boil: Good, but Different Now, to the food. Full disclosure: I lived in Georgia for 12 years, and nothing is ever going to beat a seasoned, authentic Florida crab boil in my mind. However, this boil is pretty darn good in its own right. I went with the Non-Spicy Captain Boil (which is a mixed seafood option) and loaded it up with lobster, potatoes, and an egg. The seasoning was flavorful and well-balanced, though it leaned a little less toward the heavy Cajun spice blend I'm used to. It delivered a scrumptiously satisfying seafood experience. Everything was cooked perfectly the 1.5lb lobster was tender, and the potatoes soaked up the sauce so very nicely. I would definitely go back the next time I'm craving a seafood boil.

There was plenty of wait staff on site but communication between staff was quite poor. No one ever came by to see if we needed anything or to ask if we wanted additional drinks or the like. So we found ourselves having to constantly hail wait staff. A large portion of the weekend buffet was seafood. You would expect that when serving lobster and crab the tableware would include for seafood crackers. This is not the case. I asked for seafood crackers from two different wait staff and was advised they didn't have any. So I went to the matre d' and asked, she went into the back and brought some out for our table. If you serving lobster and crab, the restaurant should either provide crackers or pre- cut the claws ready to eat. With regard to the food, I would have thought they would have served some rolls or bread but we had to ask for this special. As well, most all the food was cold. So all in all, I expected more but a 3 star rating is about all I would give.

They are doing a promo currently $50pp as its usually I believe $70pp. The interior is old school vibe church decoration feeling with some antique stuff. I'm here for the food and not much on the decor tbh. The spread is all laid out in a L format. Its not the typical buffet spread of having appetizers, mains and desserts and such. In fact, I didn't see any desserts but you can order for additional cost. Appetizers I guess are the salads... There were a few meat options there, but I was there for the seafood spread... They had octopus chunks, squid rings, shrimp, cold crab legs, lobster with tomalley, fish, mussels... Surprisingly, i thought the octopus, squid was quite good in taste and texture. The lobster was a bit tough like the old Mandarin buffet days with overcooked lobster but had tomalley to enjoy if you like that. Overall, I think its simple spread but enjoyable. For the promo price point its good. They also have live music performance as well. Better to go early so the food doesn't get cold and less crowded.
