Great place to have a Sunday breakfast. Not too crowded when I went but it filled up fast. I haven't had waffles in a while so I ordered the Belgium waffle, scrambled eggs and sausage. I didn't like my eggs because they were simply fried on the grill and chopped up to give the appearance of a scramble. All the other items were yummy. I was happy with the portion and was full when I left. Good price point for the amount of food served. Located near a shopping mall area, this is a busy area for traffic and parking. Plenty of seating (booth and tables) inside. Good music playing and plenty of folks singing along while waiting for their food. Nice atmosphere and guess what.....chile they serving mimosas now! Was visiting the DC area and staying at a near by Hilton Garden Inn. At my niece's suggestion 4 of us headed here for Friday night dinner. Great variety on the menu, breakfast available all day. This was last month, and the details of our order are foggy but we enjoyed generous portions, great service and a fun night visiting with out of town relatives we hadn't seen for some time. The experience was so good, some of us returned the next morning for breakfast. The breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros were excellent. And a great cup of fresh, hot coffee. I have been coming to this Silver Diner location for years and not once have I ever left disappointed with the food or service! Top notch diner with consistently good food. I always order the same delectable thing....Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs (hard scrambled with cheddar cheese) and bacon !! Sooooooo good!! I don't know what they put in that waffle, but it is by far, one of the best Belgian waffles I've had. It's just so buttery delicious and melts in my mouth!! The eggs and bacon are always cooked correctly and the coffee is STRONG! I also have to note that they are great at getting you in and out if you're in a hurry - especially at the counter. Oh did I mention that the BISCUITS also MELT in your mouth?! I almost fainted when I took my first bite into one of those fresh biscuits!! YUM! I ordered Calf Liver with mashed potatoes. The liver should have been cut thinner and not been burned. The corn chowder was good; I would give the food 3 stars. However, the waitress Lereiya needs a few pointers. So, Lereiya, if you're reading this please note the following. Give the customer your full attention when they are ordering. Even if you are listening to us, don't turn your head 270 degrees surveying the restaurant. I feel like I have to WAIT for YOUR attention. I chose soup to accompany my meal. Either bring it out well in advance or with the meal. Don't bring it out three minutes before the rest of the food. When I ask for a split check, don't make a face. You brought the check before I requested it. Don't add a drink to my bill when I didn't order one. And when there's only two at a table, you can take the trouble to hand each of us our check individually. I'm not asking for four star service, but a lot of these details should be noticed even at a diner. Our waitress was slow to serve, she had to input our order on a tablet tableside which took forever - the. Our food order was still messed up. 10 minute wait for chocolate milk. What a cute place !! I love the old 50s vibe when you walk in and the mini jukeboxes they have at each table. My husband brought me here for breakfast over the weekend and everything was perfect from the time we walked in to the time we left. We were seated right away, so no wait :) our server was very attentive and polite. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes with eggs over medium and bacon. I highly recommend the chocolate chip pancakes - they were excellent ! My husband ordered the banana stuffed French toast and woooow! That was like a dessert and breakfast in one. Some friends and I came to Silver Diner after a 2 hour trail hike. So, needless to say, we were hungry. I can't remember the last time I've been to a Silver Diner, but most spots with 'diner' in their name tend to deliver! One in the crew was Vegan so our first mission was to see if they had something she could eat. Otherwise we would hit another spot. Well, well, well, KUDOS to you Silver Diner for your large vegan options! I myself had the Just Egg Benedict (vegan) and the Oatmilk Blueberry Pancakes (vegan). They were both DELICIOUS!!! The egg benedict had a great smoky flavor and was generally YUMMY! What stood out in the pancakes (besides the blueberrys) were the pistachios sprinkled throughout. The coconut butter was divine and the syrup!!!!! OMG!!! I can't say enough. Everybody's food was good. We also had a hummus to start off with that came with diced apricots. That too was so good. I've come here with my dad for breakfast a few times and we always have a good time. The staff is friendly and the kitchen is fast at churning out hot food. Previously, I tried the egg-free omelet which is made with egg beaters and filled with veggies. It was surprisingly good. This time I tried the chocolate chip banana french toast with home fries. The toast was difficult to cut through, so while I enjoyed the flavors, I think the execution could've been better. I didn't care for the home fries as they aren't home fries at all, but roasted potatoes. My dad had the blueberry pancakes which is what he always gets and always enjoys. I'd recommend this diner to others and would definitely return to try the rest of the menu. read more

If you're a fan of steak and shake you'll like silver diner because it's that vibe with waaaayyyy more options. So many options! Extensive menu with healthy options. The desserts are less so, kind of what you expect but a generous serving size which surpasses the milkshake glass.I had the chicken sandwich with this pineapple glaze on a great bun. You can never judge a book by its cover. Although this restaurant isn't as new as some of the other Silver Diner restaurants, the food was excellent as well as the service. Ok time to pull a 180 and update my review. Since last review I've been here probably 5 more times, and it deserves a better rating. Maybe 4 stars but I'll do 5 to say sorry for my previous. The food is always great, and comes at an acceptable price. The wait is usually quite long, which honestly is fine. In my opinion, if you're going out to eat you might as well stay a while. Once after a reeeally long wait they even gave us coupons for a free entree next visit. That made me happy. Also, I always get the same thing, which indicates I'm an old man now. We normally go to the silver Diner in Rockville and Gaithersburg. The service there is great. This SD in Greenbelt is atrocious. We were seated quickly enough, it no server for 10-15 minutes. We haven't learned our lesson from the night before. We chalked it up to being late at night and only 1 or 2 servers. But now here for breakfast, I see this service is always this slow. read more

Our server, whose name tag said "Agent P" but our receipt read "Adrian", was not only so friendly and personable, but his memory was impressive! He wrote nothing down, and got everything right! Silver diner is usually where people go at like 3 am for greasy eats. Not me. I usually end up going mid day. There isn't a wait. Service is friendly. Food comes out decent. Your usual dinner fare. I've gotten burgers and waffles and grilled cheeses here. I've like most everything. But the fries need more seasoning and are matchstick in size which I don't like. The waffles were a little cripsy and not very fluffy. But other then that's been good. Cheap prices. Decent for what it is. read more
