Please clean up! The tables, seat cushions, floors and jukebox turning hooks were filthy! The food was great and the waiter was cool. However, I will not return due to the place being dirty! This is unacceptable. You can clearly tell no one cleans up. It doesn't take much to grab disinfect wipes to clean the tables, seats, and jukeboxes. Mr. Clean is needed badly. read more

I went to silver dinner on June 23, 2024 I purchased a Carmel French toast breakfast which was disgusting the fried home fried potatoes was sour/rotten, the chicken sausages was fried until burnt and had a funny taste, they fail to put powered sugar on the French toast nor did they give me some on the said like I requested. I'd leave this place a negative 5 stars if possible! I stopped frequenting this place due to decline in service since June 2024. They do not value their regulars and I actually returned with a neighbor (strictly because of the incentives that were emailed to me) who also had a bad experience & I was told my promotion was just expired, I then presented my birthday incentive and AGAIN I was told I could not use due to their system not accepting or not working properly at the time. The service at Silver Diner has truly declined, the food is bland & unless you enjoy pulling teeth for their antics to lure you in I advise you stay away!! This will be a very brief review on the Nutella Banana Milkshake. I came here for that only. It's been a favorite of mine for a few years, I never seem to make my way to a Silver Diner to get one. I wasn't sure if it was on the menu, to my great happiness, it was. Still as yummy as the first time I tried it. They go heavy in the hazelnut goodness of Nutella. Terrible service. Multiple people working the host stand. None can figure out how to seat people. Lost our name. Seated multiple people ahead of us. Started to bicker with us that she didn't skip us. Then another staff member started to bicker about that no one was seated ahead of us. Finally got a look at the list. Multiple people who came in after us, show seated. Based on my UberEats order of 3 kids meals. I ordered the hotdog with a side salad and milk, macaroni and cheese (super creamy and came with a hotdog on top) with edamame and milk, and a Champ Breakfast with rye toast, over medium egg, side of fruit and a Coke. Everything was fresh and tasty! I haven't been able to get to the grocery store recently so I was able to dissect these meals and add other ingredients to create other meals. But my meal appeared to be missing the main ingredient...the hollandaise sauce. Thurman noticed the missing sauce and brought me a bowl of this so called sauce, but I could hardly tell what it was, but the consistency nor taste appeared to be Hollandaise and that is why I took off the 1 star. I'm of the opinion that people sleep on Silver Diner. Silver Diner is really trying to break out of the stigma of diners being greasy spoons. Silver Diner changed its menu some time ago and has a number of truly healthy menu options, and they seemed to have gotten on board with the farm to table concept on some level. One of my favorite menu items is the crispy fried brussel sprouts..what traditional diner has fried brussel sprouts?? They also have Beyond Meat burgers...that indeed is something traditional diners don't have. I tried a Beyond Meat burger for the first time at Silver Diner-I substituted it on the Hickory Smokehouse burger and axed the bacon. My best friend and I wanted to check this place out while I was visiting Maryland ~ my bestie had the waffles and chicken, she loved it. The waffle was flavorful and the chicken was crispy and delicious. The gravy on the side was tasty as well. I had the scrambled eggs and bacon, eggs were good and the bacon was cooked perfectly. During this Covid-19 pandemic we ate outside on the patio. It was cool while fans blew on two other customers to make us comfortable. I had the salmon salad and a mango hibiscus shake. When I walked in the atmosphere was very unique, I loved the old classic look of the restaurant. The host Heydi was very polite when seating me. My server Fred was also amazing he had a great attitude and it felt genuine as if I was actually welcomed there. I was more then disappointed today. I ordered a hot tea and a blood orange soda. No big deal they were both on the menu The waitress returned with the drinks and I tasted the blood orange. It was simply carbonated water. I told the waitress that it was carbonated water. She proudly said that it was not. She stated that was the only way they make the drink. I know that is not true because I go to the diner at least 4 times a month. She insisted that I was wrong and that was what I was getting.
