I sat at the bar where Marquis took care of me. Service was fast and friendly, not over bearing, and every question was answered without hesitation. I had the avocado toast with salmon and it was fresh and full of flavor. The avocado still had texture which I love and the toast was the perfect thickness and had just enough bite to it to hold things together but not be tough...the salmon was a nice compliment! The MEDITERRANEAN GREEK SALAD was crisp, garden fresh and full of flavor, the chicken was cooked just right and not dry, couldn't have asked for more... They also had a nice scotch on the top shelf, that's always a bonus! I will reserve the fifth star for when I return and try one of their highly praised dishes off the main menu. The menu doesn't get stale here. Seasonal changes are the norm. I love that and always look for the new additions. Try the Smith Island Cake, a MD speciality, if you've never had it. Even the wines and beers change, a VG thing. The price is right for the food quality. You'll see tables with nothing but "boomers" having lunch - a sure sign that a restaurant prices are reasonable. For a restaurant that's into organic and food to table sourcing, my hope is that the level of plastic use goes down. Get rid of the plastic straws, for example. Use paper straws or none. I don't want to feel guilty when I see photos of turtles with straws up there noses or read about the amount of plastic found inside a dead whale leading to its' death. It's a huge environmental responsibility issue. Yeah, I know other places are even more guilty but change has to start somewhere. Why not with SD? read more

It's 6/6/25 I'm back in here again and once again the cooks messed up my order and the waitress is not attentive thid is definitely a different crew as I don't expect people to stay working there they must evolve to better in life. I'm sitting at the bar waiting 25 minutes and and more with no customers and my waitress just said they made the wrong thing they made the appetizer portion. I'm trying my best to not to keep complaining but this will be my last time coming to the Waldorf location . The quality of service is declining. There are no customers and they messed up my order twice. I was given the excuse the change in shift and u clearly watched them there was no shift change , the waitress need better customer service there are a few who are excellent but I think they no longer work there. I don't even want to be Compensated. I want better service and once again they keep apologizing. I just want my food in a timely manner and better customer service to the money spent as it's not cheap to eat here . The Waldorf location is going down maybe they need to be paid more to get better service. read more

I am very displeased with my experience with this Silver Diner location this afternoon. I decided to come here today because this establishment serves breakfast food throughout all hours of the day, which would have been nice if I actually had the chance to try the food out. I was seating as soon as I walked in seeing as though the place wasn't any busier than usual, however, I was seated for 15 minutes without service or any kind of greeting before I decided it was time to get up and leave. I know for a fact that the server that was assigned to my area saw me because I was right beside one of his other tables and he never once checked in or greeted me. Also, I wasn't alone, so there's no way I wasn't seen sitting in the booth. I spoke with the host to let him know that I was never greeted or no one came up to take my order for the last 15 minutes, and I should've asked to speak with the manager. I am very unsatisfied with my experience and most likely will not consider returning. read more

The food is not up to par in this location. Eggs are extremely dry (no exaggeration either). The service is meh... For the last two Sundays i ordered Chicken and extra crispy pecan waffle; The chicken is SUPER crispy but yet juicy and tender, and flavorful not overwhelming with spices and the waffle was perfect for me! However, this time they gave me some kind relish which was sweet, salty, spicy and sour so much better than the gravy! After passing by this restaurant many times we decided to give it a try last Saturday. We were greeted and seated promptly as soon as we arrived. The place was packed, but it is a large restaurant with plenty of seating. Since it was brunch I had a mimosa and my husband had a Bloody Mary both were yummy. For our meals my caramel French toast was delicious but his hot fried chicken sandwich was better. That mango salsa hit the spot! We will be back because the menu is tempting and I need some of that amazing apple pie that I saw as we were leaving. I had an outstanding experience today, with the busboy, Patrick. I created a huge problem for myself by leaving my retainers on the chair next to me, knowing I would see them when I picked up my wallet. Long story short I did not. When I realized that 20 minutes later, I went back. Patrick had noticed them on the floor and had thrown them in the trash, which ended up in the dumpster. We talked for a couple minutes, when he said he would get the bag, transfer the trash to another so he could look for them. He found them, put them in hot water, rinsed them off and gave them to me. I was thrilled and grateful, which I told him. I tipped him well for his efforts that WAY above and beyond. Every encounter over the years with the staff at the Waldorf, MD Silver Diner has been amazing. Everyone there is gracious, helpful and kind. Had a bad day and stopped in for some dessert. I know, stop judging me...Anywhoo, I knew I wanted their amazing chocolate cake but I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink with it. The bartender was AHMAZING. She asked me what I liked and made me the best Irish Coffee that I've had in a loooong time. I was/am super impressed. First of all, I didn't even know Silver Diner did drinks and second of all, the bartender at this location does a phenomenal job of reading her customers and giving them what they really want (even if THEY don't know it yet lol). The country scrambler is the worst breakfast scrambler I've ever tasted. The food don't have a taste at all. They put more potatoes than sausage. As u can see, I wasn't able to eat the food at all. The sausage is dry and it has little bit of eggs. They serve it with the baby pancake.. this meal alone is 15.99. We were seated on a smaller table that we can barely move. When there are more tables that are available. Can't even enjoy the music bcz you hear more people talking than the music. I ordered a French toast bcz I knew that they are not IHoP that serve a good size of pancakes. The French are my favorite so far. One waiter was sitting in a booth playing with his phone. I finally said something to the manager when a couple walked in and they were immediately served upon entering the restaurant. The food was good, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. We ordered the veggie tacos and veggie burger. I appreciated the vegetarian options-- but they seemed small. We didn't like the toppings on the miso burger-- but to make the build your own veggie burger and get cheese-- it would have been a $20 burger. This was 16.99 and came with a small side of fries.
