This evening, my daughter, grandson, and I came to eat dinner at your Waldorf, MD, location. I frequent this location often, so I was surprised at the lack of good customer service this evening. The server, Chanel D, did not correctly take down my order or my daughters. We brought this to the server's attention, and she agreed to exchange my daughter's meal. The second time the server bought the meal, it did not have the requested seasoning; again, we brought this to the server's attention and asked for a manager. When we asked the server about the season, she indicated she would come back with it momently; however, we observed her talking with her colleagues before departing from behind the counter to take another customer's order. This lack of communication was disappointing and made us feel neglected. After a while, a manager came over to our table, and we explained our displeasure with the lack of attention from our server and that we did not get what we initially ordered. The manager apologized and informed us that the particular season we'd enjoyed for many years was no longer being offered. So, we again expressed concern that the server never returned to our table to inform us, and now my daughter's food was lukewarm. Additionally, I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and asked for two side orders of avocado; although the salmon and salad were delicious, I did not receive the avocado that I ordered. Although I am grateful I was not charged and it was removed from my ticket, I am deeply disappointed with this dining experience. The manger did apologized, indicated she would take 10 percent from our check, and offered a substitute seasoning, which my daughter accepted. Afterward, I asked her if we would receive a courtesy 110 percent card. She indicated we would not, as this is at the manager's discretion. I was puzzled since I have frequented Silver Diner since 2013 (first time at your Tysons Corner Location in Virginia and now Waldorf, MD),and was unaware that Silver Diner's policy changed. Nevertheless, later, when the server returned, I requested our check as we were ready to depart after this unpleasant dining experience. The server, another server, and the manager conversed for several minutes before she bought over our ticket. I found this to be disrespectful and unacceptable. As a result, I did not give the server at the time as it usually is my custom to tip. Again, my daughter Kantrelle and I are both members of your club, although we have frequented your restaurant on many occasions before our membership to receive this kind of service. I wonder if we should continue to patronize this particular location. read more

We stopped in for a Sunday brunch at Silver Diner in Waldorf. The wait time was about 25 minutes for 2 people. The place was busy! But once we were seated, the service was fast. Our server, Maggie, was friendly and polite. We ordered milkshakes, an omelette and pancakes. The Oreo milkshake was amazing! The pancakes were also delicious. My husband thought the omelette was fine. Overall, we were pleased with the food and the service. The restaurant was nicely decorated to look like an old fashioned diner, and they even had juke boxes on the tables. I recommend checking out Silver Diner. read more

I'm a huge fan of Silver Diner! I've been to the location in Clarendon, McLean, Reston, and Springfield. This is my second recent visit to the Silver Diner in Waldorf! COVID-19 DINING "in" EXPERIENCE: We walked up about 1pm today . There was no line and there was hand sanitizer at the entrance. I ordered a hot chocolate which was decent. For my brunch, I had the steak and eggs! I opted for the egg whites. I traded in my biscuit for a pancake. I love the home fries that come with the meal! I felt very safe. Masks are required. The tables were socially distanced. On the table, there was a detailed card of the steps Silver Diner takes to ensure the restaurant is clean and to comply with CDC cleanliness standard. I love this place, that is when the food is hot, fresh, and tasteful. Delivery is spotty though. Sometimes it's the best and others not so great upon notifying management sometimes you get your issue taken care of and others when you are told sorry that happened or sorry it wasn't to your liking and that just doesn't cut it. I ordered a mimosa. It came with an older strawberry. I also ordered the summer cod. It had a strong fishy smell. The pomegranates on the quinoa were a nuisance. I enjoyed the asparagus very much. My fiend enjoyed the bruschetta. But she did not like the Turkey chili because it didn't have enough meat. She absolutely loved the no-hito. Our server Jiji was great!!! read more

We're new (sort-of) to the area and happened to come across this restaurant when looking for a breakfast place near our doctors office. And what a hidden gem! From the moment you walk in you're taken back to an old-school diner. Love the environment, the food and the quick service. NEGATIVE 5 STARS This is the most disgusting meal I've had all year. I ordered take out from the parking lot and grabbed my order 10 minutes later. My "watermelon cucumber mint soda" was completely flat, sausage gravy was without sausage and taste like unseasoned flour and water. The chicken looked nothing like the image online and was unseasoned and raw in the center. Although my waffle wasn't terrible the overall experience was horrid. The menu is robust and has something for everyone. Not your typical diner fare. The atmosphere is typical diner with juke boxes and booths. Service was great and the staff friendly. Food was mediocre in taste. We got a burger, salad, and a lunch combo. All was satisfying and mostly finished, but we won't be going back. The first impression of a business in most instances can determine whether a customer returns or list that place in the, "I don't know if I'll return to this place again" category. The host/hostess at a restaurant sets that stage in an eating establishment. Richelle, the Hostess at Silver Diner in Waldorf, is an excellent example of how the individual filling that position should function. Her customer service skills are second to none. She's friendly , courteous, accommodating, and conducts herself in a very professional manner. Richelle should be the person that every new employee should spend the first few days with to learn what excellent customer service looks like. read more

A really nice Silver Diner although the parking can be a bit tricky with some cars driving a bit too fast around the building. Always a nice variety of options available and the seasonal selections are unique and delicious. Make use of the happy hour deals or blue plate specials! Those are discounts/cheaper options during different times for select items, I'd double check online to review specifics. The service is friendly and amicable, our server checked in with us a few times and helped answer some of our questions about the drinks (both alcoholic and about their hand spun milkshakes). The only thing this diner lacks compared to basic traditional diners is that they do not offer a variety of pasta dishes if that's something you crave ay this type of establishment. As a seasonal offering, they currently have a crab meat and lobster angel hair dish, but in their standalone menu there is no pasta section. Again they have plenty of mindful and rich food options so there is still a lot to enjoy. read more

This is the best Silver Diner location I've ever been to and is now apart of my brunch and lunch rotation. Food and service are consistently great here. Takeout orders have been sent out hot and fresh. Social distancing, sanitizing, and mask wearing are all enforced here plus the tabletops and bathrooms at Waldorf's location are always sparkling clean which has not been my experience at other locations of this chain's restaurants. I love their huge & colorful fresh garden salads with grilled salmon & shrimp and I get the smokehouse cheddar style turkey burger with turkey bacon for lunch and dinner fairly often. The crispy fried Brussels sprouts are my go-to "healthy" option if you remove the fried part in your mind LOL. I didn't know there were so many cocktail options with a full bar of spirits galore, but on my last visit, our server Brian, recommended I try a tropical mimosa and it's my new favorite thing to wash down the chocolate chip pancakes I love. I was apprehensive about trying the crab cake Benedict, but Brian assured me it'd be delicious and it turned out to be just that. Brian was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. He made great recommendations and was attentive and patient with our table of substitution and modification requesting picky eaters. We loved how proactive he was with refills, bringing extra condiments and napkins, and removing dishes we were finished eating with perfect timing. We felt catered to, but never rushed. Dare I say, this Silver Diner with the awesome updated menus, 5 star service, and pandemic induced white glove pristine cleanliness is now one of my favorite late afternoon brunch locations to visit? We ate breakfast at this little classically furnished diner and it was really cute on the inside, the staff was pleasant and polite, and the service was great. The breakfast was decent enough. Nothing to complain about but a bit on the bland side of things. I ordered the eggs benedict and everything was fine but it just wasn't lemony or spiced. This spot is super cute with retro vibes. At every table there's a small jukebox, the interior decor matches the whole vintage dining experience. They also have a nice outdoor seating area, albeit not ideal during the hot summer weather. I had a strawberry milkshake, which was sooo tasty, it had real cuts of strawberry and wasn't too thick but just right. To eat, I had the classic egg Benedicts- which they allowed me to substitute the maple ham for turkey bacon (extra crispy just how I asked for.) staff was attentive and did not desert us. I've been here twice, first time was during the week and we were able to be seated right away, however today we came back on a Sunday and had a 20 minute wait for a party of 2.
