This review is overdue! I came in off a long ride on I 95 and this place caught my eye. Busy weekend morning and I was alone, but still got a table just by myself and without a fuss. My waitress Sarah was just an absolute doll start to finish. Went in silver diner for a late breakfast with my wife. The food items included pancakes, omelet and drinks, coffee and apple juice. As far as the food taste and service went, they were kind and welcoming. However, the two not-so-good experiences at the restaurant had a distinct smell which was a bit unpleasant as we walked in, maybe it was just that day. The 2nd occurrence was my the coffee had a piece of lettuce in the cup, which the waitress was quick to get us another coffee order as soon as we let her know. While in town we had a craving for diner food. It was rainy day and I wanted meatloaf. We walked into Silver Diner and we were pleasantly greeted after walking by the wall that shows all the great employees of the month. We were seated quickly and our order was taken by Doreen who was patient and explained our options to us. She even custom ordered a fruit bowl for us since we didn't want an açaí bowl. I had my meatloaf with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables and my man had the turkey with sourdough bread, mashed potatoes, veggies and cranberry, orange and ginger sauce. Both were tasty and fresh as they partner with local markets for produce. While there I saw massive waffles and pancakes being served which looked very appetizing so we will try that next time. I took my mom to dinner a few weeks ago at Silver Diner. Good spot for breakfast. However dinner had some hits and misses. The restaurant was clean and inviting and staff were friendly. Our server, was helpful explaining items on the menu and the special the restaurant was promoting. I had the turkey dinner which had a nice portion of turkey. I could have did without the bread as it felt like an open faced sandwich. The gravy was ok, the potatoes would have been better if they had more milk/cream in them as they were very stiff. And the steamed veggies, let's just say the most of them were raw. My mom said the meatloaf and brown gravy was good, but she didn't care for the fried onions-would have preferred grilled ones. Her vegetables were al dente and flavorless as well. The best thing was the quesadillas. Given this experience, I'll stick to their breakfast. read more

Food was all good. The problem was with the staff. They seemed to not want to help each other out.our waitress had a full load of tables and some were large tables. Other areas not so. There were folk sitting around by entrance talking(staff). We were waiting around to get more coffee but our waitress as very busy. We asked one of the others for more coffee but he disappeared, looked to just let our waitress know and did not even try to get us a refill, he went right back to the front door and talked it up with other staff there. This is a great little diner that we have always enjoyed. They might have one of the largest menus I've ever seen in my life. From breakfast all day to floats and other desserts, they have it all. Honestly, it's a diner and that says everything; however, to make this review a little more than what you already know, I'll give you some detail on specific items. Their food portions are just right in my eyes. They neither skimp out on the fries nor rob you of a great portion of food in general. I have two kids, one loves their breakfast and the other loves their cheeseburgers. Personally, I really enjoy their club sandwich, which is stacked. My wife always orders an omelette, particularly the western omelette with salsa. The coffee is good, but usually very strong and sometimes bitter. However, it's nothing that a little cream can't fix. The wait staff is traditionally friendly and responsive; however, last time we went our waitress was a little less focused than usual. This doesn't mean we didn't get our order, she just needed to be told a few times about the same thing (I believe this to be a one off situation). Ambiance: (5/5) I liked the old school diner feel with the jukeboxes, Price: (3/5) I thought the food was a bit expensive for what we got and how much we got. Food: (3/5) The burrata was good but the tomatoes were very plain. They should have used better tomorrows. Bacon was a bit chewy and the French toast and pancakes were kinda plain. I felt like I could make those at home. Nothing tasted bad, but it wasn't great. Service: (4/5) Service was good. We had asked for our app to come out before our food so the food wouldn't get cold, but they brought everything out at the same time. In conclusion, I wouldn't come back. First off I asked for medium for my steak I guess they not sure what that means because the steak was so chewing that I couldn't even enjoy it. Then the pancakes tasted like cardboard no flavor at all. I can make better ones out of that red box. Which we all know what red box I'm referring too. The home fries were cold and the eggs which I like mine over easy were so runny and still had uncooked whites visible. I should have just sent everything back but I tried to eat the meal even though I was not happy about it. Everything costed over $30...which is ridiculous and completely overpriced. The coffee was just alright Wawa and what I can make at home is 20xs better. I will not be back...so wish I would have went with my first mind or even IHOP. read more

I enjoyed my stuffed French toast but my daughter wasn't impressed with the Philly cheese steak. I had that before as well as wasn't impressed either.
