Had an early birthday celebration with my bestie during my trip visit in July. We both got the Summer 2025 Standard Menu. You start with a scone and then you get 4 savory and 4 sweet items. I also ordered the Fuding "Yin Hao" Jasmine green tea, so tasty! I'm more of a savory fan, I loved the cucumber sandwich. Such a cute spot for you to catch up with friends! Highly recommend! Staff was super friendly. Highly recommend taking the T as it was just a short walk.

High tea was excellent in freshness. Tasty GF treats made in house and good service. Tables are very close to each other, otherwise a cute restaurant.

Such a cute little spot for afternoon tea. They offer two seasonal menus they did offer a vegetarian version). One just had a few more items on it but aligned pretty well. The tea was great, they give instruction on how long to steep got optimal flavor. I got the English breakfast but the mixed black teas is stronger and liked it more just cause I love a strong tea with cream. My fav food item was the currant scone and I have to say the cocktails were amazing. I got something with sesame I believe but the flavors just worked. It's a cute thing to do an break up the day.

Not a large restaurant at all but very cute with the front with a wall of roses. Made reservations and got seated right away. Menu is set with $48/person and came with savory and sweet treats. My favorite is the curry chicken, cucumber dill sandwich. Tea flavors are a great variety with decaf as well.

Tea, service and ambiance were all good. Food was broadly good with only a couple of minor complaints. The cucumber sandwich was very salty, and overall the amount of food was quite small. We were hungry a couple of hours later.

I had a great afternoon tea here! I don't think the quality took any hits at all for being completely gluten free. The price ($48) is great for a traditional afternoon tea experience and having the option to add a craft cocktail for only $9 is a steal! I loved my cocktail especially I got that seasonal spritz. Overall this is definitely worth a visit!

I walked past this place while in the area and got so excited. I have always wanted to try an afternoon tea lounge! So I made a reservation for a date night/afternoon. I am so happy we tried this place! I was delighted by the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant. The seating was cozy, they had this green velvet sofa which fit the aesthetic perfectly. There were also a few booths for larger parties. However, the tables are very close together and the noise in the restaurant does get a little loud, it can be hard to carry a conversation. I also don't like to overhear other's conversations and here it kind of is inevitable. I understand that the restaurant itself isn't particularly spacious, but I would love if the tables could be spaces out a little more? Just a suggestion. The service was good as well, our server explained the snacks and they were quick about clearing our dirty plates. Tea: we chose the option where we each get a pot of tea. They do also serve cocktails in addition to tea, but that is a little bit extra cash. I chose the white peach tea, which was amazing! I added sugar cubes as needed and it had a perfect light, fruity flavor that reminds me of spring. My bf chose the Sencha green tea, which he loved. It had a bitter and earthy flavor. The tea pots were also great at keeping the tea hot throughout the meal, and there was a special diffuser with tea inside the pot which can be removed whenever you think your tea is strong enough. Treats: you get a course of sweet and savory treats when you order your tea. They also have gluten free options and ask about allergies. I absolutely loved everything we received. My favorites were the cucumber cream canapé (salty and mild), coronation chicken (had a curry like flavor), and apple butter tart. I also loved the scones at the beginning of the meal, they were warm and the clotted cream and strawberry jam was heavenly. This course changes seasonally, so I want to come back to try what they will serve next! *I also see some reviews here complaining that they were not satisfied with the amount of food, left hungry, etc. "Afternoon Tea" is an English custom where you are served tea and light snacks in the gap between lunch and dinner. This is not meant to be a full meal! If you are looking to feel stuffed go get a steak somewhere. TL;DR: This is a fun experience for a date or just catching up with a friend! The tea is delicious and the menu has some great food. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to try something new :)

Such a cute spot and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon or a special occasion! The place is quaint and cute, lots of natural light and cute velvet booths. The service was great! All the servers took care of all the tables since it's a small place. We started with choosing our teas, we got Jasmine and Earl Grey, and they refill hot water throughout. We next got the scones with jam and clotted crème which were so delicious! Finally they bring out the tower with lots of savory and sweet options. They also have extras that you can add on, which were dates wrapped in prosciutto, but this changes seasonally. All the food was very good! I'd highly recommend this experience. Also the price is very fair for the service and food, and much more reasonable than other tea options in the city!

I came here with two girlfriends a few weeks ago and it was really cute. The food was good, the tea was great, the place is small. The staff is nice but not too talkative. Things are priced very reasonably. Don't be alarmed that you don't see a sign outside the door.

I'm updating my review so I can add more pictures for reference. I've been here several times over the past 2 years and I've never had a bad experience. I've taken multiple guests with me to Silver Dove and every single one has loved this spot.

I knew when this spot opened and yet, I wasn't really inclined to visit after what I heard. But, one fateful evening I ventured out to visit their small establishment because my friends wanted to try it out. It's only a 5min walk from the government center T stop. I admit the inside is adorable. You come into an indoor entryway with a wall of flowers and you open another door to one of the staff graciously offering to hang up your coat. It feels simple and elegant but cozy inside. I think there are only about 5-6 tables so it's small. Love the artwork and the tiny pieces that give the place life. They have a preset menu of what you get and a bunch of lovely teas to try and everything on their menu is gluten free and oat free! I got the vanilla rooibos tea but the winter blend which the staff mentioned was a favorite of visitors smelled great! (they let us smell a couple of the teas). The staff was all very nice and helpful in answering questions.I'm going to be honest though the food was just okay to me. I tried a lot of things with different flavors and yet nothing really stood out to me... except the scone but that's because I love bread with butter and jam which is just so simple yet so amazing. We also added another item for $3 which was like a salmon cracker. The salmon with the granola-like bottom was an Interesting mixture... not a fan. This is a one and done but glad for the variety of delicious teas. It was $62pp with the extra item with the tea package (no alcohol or mocktails) with an automatic tip of 15%. $$$ Food 6 Atmosphere 8 Service 7 What we got Rooibos Vanilla Tea Smoked salmon bite Currant scone Beef confit Parsnip soup Coronation chicken Cucumber chicken Genmaicha eclair Bakewell tart Lemon poppyseed tart Speculaas cake

Such an elegant beautiful place for high tea right in Boston downtown! Highly recommend this place- limited but great tea collection and good drinks too. The bites are tasty and the service is impeccable I highly recommend silver dove for a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon. Books in advance and no parking around- plan ahead.

Was an amazing experience and such a great place to celebrate a birthday! We arrived a little early to our reservation, and although we didn't have to wait long, the staff still gave us complimentary sparkling tea, which was sooo delicious! The tea flavor was strong and perfectly sweet, and the bubbles made it more like a light soda. After getting seated, we looked over their preset menu and chose our teas from a long list. I chose a pu-er tea and my friend tried white tea, both of which were amazing with and without sugar cubes. You also get complimentary hot water refills so you truly get multiple cups out of one pot! The scones came out first and were hefty but a great starter. Paired with their jam and butter was the most perfect bite. Next came the large spread stacked on three plates, the savory and sweets! I wish we had a little more savory dishes, but that's simply my preference. All the savory dishes were spectacular, but especially the chickpea with eggplant and squash. The sweets were also pretty good, but none really stood out to me. I also appreciated how nice the staff were, and since it's a small restaurant, it's easy to ask for help at any time. Overall, I highly recommend to check this place out!

I started with the grapefruit cocktail, followed by the hamachi crudo and the lobster roll. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The hamachi crudo was especially impressive, and the lobster roll was everything you'd hope for when dining in Boston. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the overall experience exceeded expectations. Salty Girl definitely deserves its high ratings, and I'll be back the next time I'm in town.

Pros: The warm…read morelobster roll was tasty, buttery, and generously filled. My only gripe is that it comes with a bag of chips rather than French fries, which are standard at many lobster roll spots. Given the price point, fries would have felt more appropriate. The whole fried black bass with ponzu and cilantro, served with steamed rice, was excellent. You'll need to be comfortable navigating bones, but as Asians who grew up eating whole fish, that wasn't an issue for us. The fish was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and one of the standout dishes of the meal. The fried Ipswich clams appetizer was also delicious. The batter was light, crisp, and seasoned perfectly without overwhelming the clams themselves. As for the ambiance, it felt like a blend of boho Miami chic and Tulum--bright, airy, and filled with soft pastel tones. A beautiful space for lunch. Cons: Unfortunately, both the Spring Crab Carbonara and Lobster Fra Diavolo missed the mark. While each dish was generous with crab and lobster meat, the pasta itself was a disappointment. Bucatini should have a firm, al dente bite. Instead, both plates arrived noticeably overcooked and soggy. No one orders bucatini expecting mush swimming in garlic tomato sauce. Beyond the texture issue, both pasta dishes lacked something. Call it zest, depth, or that certain je ne sais quoi, but neither dish delivered much flavor. Dare I say they were somewhat bland. At $38 and $45 respectively, that was particularly disappointing. Service was equally underwhelming. Despite having a 12:45 p.m. reservation, the hostess seated us at a four-top closest to the kitchen. There were numerous vacant four-top tables in more desirable locations throughout the dining room, yet we were placed there. We didn't complain, but all of us wondered, "Why this table?" Our server, Christy L., was adequate but hardly memorable. As visitors from Los Angeles, we've grown accustomed to servers making a little conversation--asking what brings you to town, offering recommendations, or simply establishing some rapport. Christy's interaction amounted to, "Hi, I'm your server. What can I get you?" and little else. She rarely checked back and never made much effort to engage. Because of that, we didn't feel the suggested gratuity options of 20%, 25%, or 30% on the payment screen were warranted. We left a standard 18% tip. Bottom Line: If you're craving excellent fried clams or a good lobster roll, this place is worth a visit. Beyond those items, however, there are plenty of restaurants that offer stronger culinary execution, more attentive and personable service, and equally attractive surroundings.

Note: Some bartenders make you feel guilty for saying something about a drink you ordered and did not like. But, here at Moon Bar, Abby was so gracious to make me something that I will enjoy. Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. Then, we had Piri-Piri Chicken Thighs that were also good but quite spicy. For dessert, we shared the Caribbean Tiramisu, which was great. It was a tough choice between this and the Guava Cheesecake. In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.
