Kevin inspected each nook and cranny of the home, including roof, attic, and electrical. He took photos of each area that were included in the report delivered the same evening as he did the inspection. Very prompt and very thorough report, including a 2-page summary for our builder to take as additional punch list items. Being new to the area, he addressed questions we had about construction in a different part of the country and took the time to explain things that were both necessary and unnecessary. Since Kevin is a civil engineer, we felt very comfortable discussing technical aspects of our new home. Kevin was terrific and we highly recommend his services. The value we received from his inspection outweighs an insurance policy and we will hire him again for our one-year walk-through as well as five or ten years down the road to give another independent, unbiased, neutral opinion on home items needing remediation, repair, or touch-up.

I hired Advantage Inspection Service for a home inspection on a property in Mesa, AZ and paid over $1,300 expecting a thorough and accurate evaluation. Unfortunately, the inspection completely understated a very obvious issue with the patio roof. At the time of inspection, the patio ceiling when you walk out onto the patio had visible sagging and clear signs of prior water damage, including patched and freshly painted drywall underneath. These were not hidden defects they were observable conditions. However, the inspection report described the ROOF as being in "near satisfactory condition" with a general "review" recommendation. NO documentation on the visible damage of the ceiling. That wording makes it sound like a minor or precautionary item, not something that could turn into a costly repair. Based on that report, I moved forward with the purchase. After closing, I had multiple professionals look at it and they all immediately pointed out the same thing. That this was a significant issue that should have been clearly identified during the inspection. What made things worse was the way the company handled it afterward. I had to repeatedly follow up just to get responses, calls weren't returned, and it took about two weeks to get a formal reply. The supervisor, Ryan Peart, ultimately relied on the "review" language in the report to avoid responsibility and offered only a 30% partial refund of the inspection fee. The issue here isn't that they didn't mention it at all, it's that the condition was seriously understated and they took no accountability. As a homebuyer, you rely on the inspection to understand what's actually going on. If something is visibly deteriorated, it should be clearly described that way. Inspections are supposed to protect buyers, not leave them with unexpected repairs after closing. I would strongly recommend anyone to stay away from this company and make sure your agent stays away from them as well. I trusted the report and unfortunately paid for it later. But currently in talks with the AZ Board of Technical Registration to hopefully suspend their license because it's completely unethical what they do to homebuyers! Hold them accountable! Just sharing my experience so others can make a more informed decision.

Mr. Barker gave a quote over the phone based on the number of vents in the house. Added cleaning the dryer vent for an additional $129. The two guys that came out did a great job cleaning the vents and cleaning up after the job was done. They took care to treat our home with respect as they performed their job. I want to let you know how pleased we were with Silver Hammer Inspections. Silver Hammer was one of the recommendations from our realtor, Ken West with ReMax. We've bought several houses over the years, but this was the most positive experience involving a home inspection. It started with a simple phone call regarding the logistics of setting the time and date for the inspection. The first vendor sounded like he had just awakened, had not had his coffee yet and seemed completely unprepared. He relayed that he was unable to provide a date or time for his availability to do our inspection and would have to check his schedule and call me back later. I was not impressed. Then I called Silver Hammer and was greeted with the professional voice of your Business Manager, Aaron. He was pleasant, polite and explained the process and the steps involved. That did it! I was sold...or so I thought...and then we met our inspector, Dylan. He also exceeded our expectations, going over his findings and what those findings meant for us. If I could no stars I would, Silver Hammer conducted a home inspection of a house we purchased in 2019. We had two inspections of the home done and the inspector failed to identify rot in structural beams and walls. (log cabin) which pursuant to the STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE For Arizona Home Inspectors (B. probe structural components where deterioration is suspected. However, probing is NOT required when probing would damage any finished surface.) he should have probed these areas and found the rot and we would not have purchased the home. When I contacted the owner, he deferred to the contract, which indemnifies them, so buyers beware, home inspectors are not responsible and you have no recourse. I simply asked for a refund of the two inspection, a total of $445, as the repairs totaled over $30,000. The owner Matt Maxwell wrote me back and then ghosted me (not professional). Also, be mindful beside indemnification, there is a mold exclusion, so if you see any water damage demand for a mold inspection. In the future, I will hire my own contractor and pay for them to inspect any future home purchases. My husband and I are new to Arizona, so looking for the right house like anyone was of great importance and we thought we found what was our dream house. We were recommended to use Silver Hammer Inspections. Jeremy was our inspector, and this being my second home purchase I kind of knew what to expect. Jeremy gave me so much more. He was extremely thorough in his walk through, checked things that I DID NOT EVEN think to check, and then some. The walk through was very detailed and he took the time to explain everything to me. After giving us the report, which was by the way the most detailed, easy to read, inspection report, including video of the roofing which was great. Silver Hammer was one of several companies my RE agent gave me to provide services during our home buying process. They did our home inspection and termite inspect for our potential new home in Dewey. I thought that being from out-of-state was going to be an issue, but one call to Matt put me at ease. The inspection was scheduled quickly, they communicated throughout the process and were on time and very thorough. (Seller beware of trying to fool them! It ain`t happening)! Jeremy reviewed all his findings with my RE agent at the end and pointed out areas that needed professional attention or could be done by a good DIY homeowner. My wife and I were in escrow on a house here in Prescott when our Realtor suggested that we try Matt Maxwell. We usually DO NOT utilize the inspector recommended by the Realtor because of the potential conflict of interest... BUT in this case we went with Matt. He was on-time, detailed (went on the roof, in the attic, under the house, through the garage and every room of the house), and prompt with his written report -- which was amazing since he conducted the inspection from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM and had the comprehensive report e-mailed to us in PDF format by 9:00 PM. Our Aug 09 2019 inspection experience with Matt and Jacob was excellent. The inspection had been split between the two, in order to conduct an outstanding and in depth inspection. Details well noted in the report- with symbols pointers within the images to help the reader locate the feature in discussion. The report format is arranged in a way that one reads first an overview and then can click on a tab opens up full details with additional images. After Matt and Jacob had completed their two hour inspection, Matt met with me to walk through their inspection process step by step, answering any questions I may have had. As a general contractor in California for over 35 years, what I needed was another set of eyes to look over homes that I am about to invest in. I really at first thought these guys were a good company but being a real estate professional this seems more like a fraud. They came and inspected my house for a buyer with three guys. Later to find out my drawers and personal items had been went thru on my blink videos. One guy watched out as another was busy at work. They made a bunch of false claims on a 10-month-old house. They claimed there had cracked stucco and tried to make me get the air cleaned for 1000 bucks by saying the house stunk like smoke and I don't smoke. Probably going to blow the sale for the buyer as I'm pretty offended. I would not trust this company that needs 3 people to do a one-man job. Have fun doing business with these idiots. read more

Silver Hammer Inspections were fantastic for my home purchase inspection. Business Manager Aaron is on top of everything with initial instructions and information. Inspector Ryan Chaffin is very detail oriented with making sure I knew what would be inspected and all the optional inspections available. Ryan was extremely thorough during the inspection with my realtor and took the time after to make sure I understood all aspects of his findings - extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Not only are Matt and Jeremy thorough, but they understand repairs as well. As a Realtor, I have worked with Jeremy on 3 separate homes and Matt on 1. Each time they gave me reports the same day -- Usually within minutes of the inspection walk-through. All concerns are documented with pictures, videos, and summaries. They are very clear about what may or may not be a concern, and their input and suggestions about repairs are quite useful. Beyond that, questions are always answered clearly and with great detail to ensure that buyers know exactly what they can expect out of a home. Tim and Curtis with Silver Hammer Home Inspections were responsive, thorough, and went above and beyond with the inspections they provided. We are in the process of purchasing a home while serving abroad in the military. I was worried that I couldn't be there physically to see the different issues with the home. However, their report provides photos, videos, and a thorough breakdown of the various safety and deferred maintenance issues. Additionally, we were looking for an inspection company that couples additional services such as termite, pool, and spa. They are one of only a few in the quad area that provides these services. Jeremy was extremely professional and thorough. He takes his time and explains everything to you. For example, what looks great, what you want to look out for in the future, and everything that he inspected. He is very organized with his presentation and prompt. To top it off, you get a copy of every particular detail of everything that he went over in person with you through email. In the email, it will link to video footage and pictures of the report. I was very impressed with the inspection Tim did on our prospective house. His thoroughness was evident and when he walked us through the property not only was he very clear but checked to ensure I understood each remark. This gave me confidence that not only was he professional but accommodating in helping me plan for repairs and improvements. HIs expertise on older mobile homes assured me that I was making a wise purchase. In addition to all this the company was prompt and communicative.
