I recently stopped by to drop off some clothes for dry cleaning, but unfortunately, the business was not open despite the posted hours of operation indicating that it should have been. As a customer, it's frustrating to make a special trip only to find the doors closed with no explanation or notice. Reliable business hours are important, especially when customers are planning their schedules around them. Unfortunately, this experience left me disappointed. I wish our area had more dry-cleaning options because dependability and customer convenience matter. I give one star because I can't give 0 star. extremely bad customer service. They lie to you about the total cost, I was quoted three dollars to move a button on a shirt my shirt lost one button. There is a spare on the bottom inside and I wanted that where the button was missing. I was told three dollars. When I pick it up, it's $5.50. I ask why, was told $2.50 for the sewing I asked what the three dollars was for I was told that's the button I said to her, but I supplied the button it was my button. She shrugged her shoulders and said I don't know. I paid the $5.50. I will never go there again for any reason, I do not recommend this place. I had the same experience it allowed me two times to have a shirt steamed for three dollars that they rate it to nine dollars when I asked him they gave no explanation there simply there rip your customers off time to find a new dry cleaners no doubt in my opinion they don't deserve any stars. I should start by saying that I read the reviews "after" I had dropped off my clothes to be washed. The reviews were all really pretty bad but I had already dropped my clothes off and it really it was only to be just a "fluff and fold" or "basic laundry" service. Well, I was committed so I'll just have to see how they do. Most of the negative reviews were related to alterations. This was just basic washing. It was no more than two loads of laundry in a normal dryer. They quoted me $45. That is a tremendous amount of money but I was in a bind. I specifically pointed out some jeans that were very dirty. Just desert dirt with no oil or grime. When I got my clothes back, they were a wrinkled mess, folded but shoved into a bag. I am not sure how they washed my flannel shirts, but they managed to shrink them and I can no longer wear them. The same with my T-shirts. And the jeans were nearly as bad as they were when I brought them in. There was another pair of jeans that I brought in (that was not so dirty) and they didn't look much cleaner either. I went back in to speak with them and the gentleman I spoke with kept his cool even though I was very upset. And he agreed to refund my payment in full. Also, the lady that processed by drop off was very nice as well. Although I appreciate their kindness, the quality of their work is their response to this review. A business always gets an opportunity to respond to every review. They get to make the first response through their actions and service but the customer gets the last word. It sounds to me that they earn the bad rating that they have. I really want to give them 1 1/2 stars. That is what they deserve. But I will rounded up to 2 stars as a way to reflect the kindness of the two individuals with whom I interacted. My advice, go somewhere else. And if you need to have your clothes simply laundered and you are concerned about the drive out to Joshua Tree or Yucca Valley, believe me, you are way better off spending the time, energy, and gas money to drive out there. read more

I have been going to silver hanger cleaners just out of necessity because it is the only dry cleaners in town that doesn't send them out. I usually go to A-1 for all my sewing needs because silver hanger consistently screwed up multiple military and civilian items I had altered!! I had brought in a pair of slacks on October 2 2013 and picked them up a week later due to an out of town business trip. I should have known...I put my slacks on and one leg was two inches shorter than the other!!! I went back a week later and they didn't seem to care an stated when THEY have time I will try and find a your receipt..I held up the pants and the two ladies laughed. I said really!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I took uniform items here and not only did it take them an ungodly amount of time to finish them due to there mistakes... but they are also very rude. A friend of mine suggested this place to me based his great experience there.... After seeing this place first hand... I am starting to think there is another silver hanger cleaners in 29 palms that he was talking about... Because this place was awful. I had 73$ worth of sewing and repair done on cammies... This consisted of almost 6 complete pairs of cammies all together. Most of them were sewn on crooked or just lazy with the excess hanging out. They even missed complete repairs on pants that were marked clearly. I had to point out the problems and horrible workmanship to them on first attempt to pickup and return a week later... On my second return... Again there were mistakes and overlooks. Save your time and money and DONT GO HERE. Ms Young might alter the Sergeant Majors uniform items with pride, but it does not continue through her other customers. read more

Today marks my last straw with this place(on and off base). I've used this place in the past and always seem to find mistakes that are always welcomed to get corrected and usually do however after several attempts to make corrections, this time, I found a couple of holes and the comment I received was it wasn't them and they never touched the area. After seeing reviews on here about holes I will add to the pile so those who deny and place this place on a pedestal can see it does happen. Hope it never happens to them but after getting charged for rush fees to get it done and to have to go through 5 iterations to still get it wrong was atrocious but I will say they refunded the 30$. Now to the fact I have a dress blues coat that is damaged is a hole other problem that this place is not willing to acknowledge. I've got pictures on Google maps to show the damage and that the alignment is still off. They said they never touch it but the picture shows there was sawing done to that sleeve. I've included the other sleeve for comparison since it was only one sleeve that had the work done. The other part that upsets me is how the new items I purchased to go in place are now dirty from whatever glue they used. If the manager or owner cares about this place I would encourage you to reach out. If your reading this be sure to take pictures of your items as you hand them over to this place. read more

All the alteration shops in town were completely booked and were not taking any new clients, this place was my last resort as soon as I walked in they were over piled with uniforms and dresses but they were very friendly and told me they would never refuse any clients. I had some work on a dress for the marine ball done and they did and AMAZING job. They managed to squeeze me into their tight schedule and do everything I asked for. Overall when I picked up the dress it was altered and ready to go! I definitely recommend the silver hangers and would come back for more work! read more

I brought my ribbons in to get stars put on them, one with a single star and another with 3 stars. When I picked them up I noticed the single star was placed high on the ribbon and the 3 stars were not straight. I brought it up and they said they would fix it. I came back today and they looked the same, they told me that was the best they could do and if I wasn't happy they'd give me my money back and I could do it myself. I got my $4.62 back for "their service" but now the ribbons are ruined and I have to buy the ribbons and the stars again. read more

Silver Hanger Cleaners in 29 palms is the worst dry cleaners ever. I took my shirt and trousers in to have dry cleaned and pressed. When I got them back, the shirt had more wrinkles in it than when I took it in. I needed the shirt for a uniform inspection so I couldn't have them redo it. When I got home I discovered they broke one of my buttons off the trousers and just put it in the back pocket. They never once said anything to me about the button. I will never return to this dump called a cleaners. read more

I showed up last week to drop off and pick up as usual and they said they wouldn't be able to clean any of our clothes for at least two weeks. I looked at the receipt when I picked them up and I in fact paid to have the medals mounted but they were not on my uniform. Plus they charged me for the medals when I had brought them in on my own already paid for. I've been taking my husband's uniforms here for a while now, and they removed any weird marks I've ever pointed out. The ladies there are super friendly! They made a mistake once not sewing on the right rank chevrons onto a couple of shirts, but they apologized as soon as I pointed out, and they had it ready like the next day all fixed. And that's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. They have never messed up anything else, prompt, courteous service - no buttons, rips, or tears in anything I've ever picked up from there. It's the on base option for the Marines and it seems as tho they take advantage. The pricing isn't competitive, the turnaround time is mediocre and hardly negotiable. The last time I was there I had to wait 30 mins for them to figure out where they had misplaced my uniform. In that time I was told a few times that I was basically crazy and that I must've already picked them up. Like I said 30 min late they found it and said "oh sorry, we put it with the wrong letter". Horrible. They have rude manners and ruin clothes. I took a dress there, they said they would dry clean it at my risk since it had old sequins on it she said could melt. The sequins were fine except for a few that she said fell off, but she didn't even tell me about a huge rip they made! I saw it on the way out and she said, "Well, I said at your own risk...". Excuse, me that was for the sequins, not for causing a huge rip in the dress and NOT offering to fix it for free. She said she would reimburse me for the dry cleaning (which she didn't even want to do), but said I would have to pay them to fix the rip. Anyway, I'm done with this place. I had gone before to take my husband's uniforms in... and we are going elsewhere if we can help it from now on. read more
