Food was tolerable, nothing special. Greens over cooked, soup was bland. Food was delivered quickly but the server, Simon, acted as if we were a bother. Had a blind person with me in an unfamiliar setting. We asked for more napkins he brought TWO. He never informed us of upcharge for anything. And because I asked for more than one refill of my less than eight ounces of soda (small plastic cup, filled to the top with ice, even when I asked no more ice, then added Pepsi) I was charged for a second soda. No clean cup, no warning, I was charged double for him to take my cup ten steps to the dispenser three times. When I went to check out I thought it was in error, told the cashier there were only two of us and he charged for three drinks, she told me there was nothing to be done I had to pay for it. I left a tip, but boy I didn't want to. IF I ever return I will be sure to ask for no Simon and question EVERYTHING. read more

Wow. The worst experience I had. All food was warm to the touch accept two vegetables. Disappointing meal. When addressed with the cashier, his reply, " we "try" to serve everything hot...". It was my daughters birthday and she ordered a oreo cake. No consideration for her as well. He took another ten dollars on top of the full bill. When I call back to speak with a manager, the woman on the phone refuses to provide her name and the manager won't be in for another three days at noon. Unacceptable. With the Covid going on you can't assume that what use to be still is , a lady picked up on the second ring , my question was do you serve breakfast all day , her response ,yes we do, we are a diner, in a little tone . I want to first start out by saying I very rarely write negative reviews. Absolutely awful service. The food was cold, my mother found hair (not hers) in her eggs, the staff was unfriendly and then when I asked for a manager to kindly explain the lack of attentiveness, they said there was no manager. When the manager finally came out, unprofessionally, she was careless about my concern and talked back AT me, not to me. It was just a horrific experience. When I asked her for the owners contact to inform her, she said there was no owner and she had no idea who it was. This place is poorly run and needs to be shut down ASAP. One of the worst experiences at a diner we got our food my wife tasted her food which was a crab salad on a croissant the croissant was extremely stale and hard. The crab salad was absolutely disgusting my wife asked if she could switch it for another dish they all of a sudden said they had a policy not to exchange meals or to even fix the meal that she had an issue with. I got the crab meat on top of macaroni and cheese it look like macaroni and cheese you get from a craft box I can make myself at home. I would not recommend this Diner to no one. The leadership of the night staff was so rude and ignorant about the whole situation I guess he never heard of the customer's always right or any type of decorum when it dealing with public. I was visiting Family in the area. I have eaten at Silver Moon several times. Usually breakfast (love their creamed chip beef and omelettes) and great crab cakes. This visit I was there for dinner. I ordered the seafood scampi. It was awful. Watery noodles with what seemed like frozen mixture of shrimp and scallops. Mainly part I ate was the added crab on top. This was not a cheap priced meal but I was disappointed that it was not cooked properly. Scampi should taste of garlic and butter. It was not super busy so no excuse. Service was great!! read more

First time trying this diner after the double t up the street was closed. The fact that they stay open till 10 was a plus but I wouldn't say the restaurant was the best. Saw sweet tea on the menu, but when we asked the server they said they just ran out .... But couldn't brew more ?? Menu was very small compared to other diners I've been to but they had pretty much the same stuff. Chicken noodle soup was great, but the food was average at best. Roaches!!!! check your food!! Came here with my family... great service..but... I ordered the Gyro and it was delivered to the table.. I began to eat a fry and I noticed something didn't look right in my Gyro. It was a roach.. the staff seemed very upset and seemed shocked! The manager was very apologetic and said she was surprised. So, I regularly dine at the Silver Moon, along with my family but after today I won't be going back. It all boils down to the owners daughter who is probably the most unprofessional restaurateur I've ever encountered. Its sad because the food is great and the staff is generally fantastic but today she once again was the sore spot of the meal. I can not support a business that does not respect their employees. While dining with my children she could be heard berating the staff and telling everyone they were on probation repeatedly. Completely humiliating them and making the dining experience uncomfortable. If a manager needs to discipline an employee, it needs to be done in private, there are laws that protect employees rights to privacy and disciplinary actions should not occur in the dinning area in front of guests. She is never pleasant or inviting and often times she is arguing with her father. She would definitely benefit from some leadership training as well as making more effort with her physical appearance. Her white tshirt was too tight, leaving flesh rolls to be on display as well her hair looked unbrushed and piled ontop of her head. My sister went for dine in and ordered the following: Corned beef hash with home fries Mashed potatoes and gravy Belgium waffle Turkey bacon Scrambled eggs Fruit cup Upon getting the food, due to medical preferences, my sister asked for plastic ware-- as she cannot use metal utensils for eating. The waiter refused to accommodate her and stated that the restaurant does not allow persons to eat in the dining room with plastic utensils. Never have we heard this, prior to this date and dining in-- however I stopped eating here after a personal racially profiled incident. The waiter became a bit nasty and she simply asked for the food to be packed up for takeout. Because she was hungry, she didn't have the energy to ask for the manager, of whom was not insight when paying the bill at the door. The service at this establishment has tremendously declined in quality to all patrons. After posting my recent review, the 'manager:owner' attempted to downplay my last incident at the restaurant where I was racially profiled. My guess is because I did not make a big scene during the incident it did not happen, in her eyes. However, it surely took place and I made it my business not to spend my money there again. After my sister came into my home and expressed her disappointment and disgust with her incident today, I felt compelled to share this incident with others; but since the person responding to my post wanted to deny my experiences, I'll surely express my emotional disconnect with my other family members, friends, and colleagues. read more

Most restaurants would have at least knocked something off the bill or brought a dessert....there was a nonchalant attitude from both the server and the gal we paid who asked if everything was ok....I mean why ask the question? This is a local diner that I've been to before but never reviewed. As diners go, this one is quite good. There are about four in the area but this one is the best. I stopped in before work because I wanted a real breakfast for a change and not a fast food sandwich. I had the two egg, bacon and home fries special. The food was hot and perfectly cooked. Tasted like the country breakfast my grandmother used to make. Coffee was excellent. The waiter was very quick and friendly. My food came in less than 5 min! I will definitely visit again. read more

The Silver Moon Diner and Restaurant claims they have something for everybody- breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and international fare. We were served a basket of fresh bread that was topped with red and green sesame seeds for the winter holidays. The Gyro was very fully loaded and as good as any Gyro I have had before. The salad had the largest chunks of feta cheese I had ever seen and the Greek dressing had a very nice flavor. For the most pat the service was good until we were done. Our serve took a very long time to check in on us at the end when we wanted a box and check. Once we got the check it again took her a long time to bring the payment receipt back to us. As for diners go this one typical and a good deal. The food met my expectations as did the typical diner décor and atmosphere. Next time I want to try one the desserts and breakfast. read more

Stopped in here on my way to Philly. It has an old home town feel to it. Outside looks like a diner from the 50's, love that. menu has plenty of selections. I was in for breakfast. Ordered the french toast with eggs, sausage, Canadian bacon and scrapple. Oh how i've missed scrapple. The coffee was decent, the service was friendly and efficient. Everything was good, what I'd expect from a diner. My issue with the french toast is this. While it was perfectly cooked, the description says "challah bread" aka egg bread. if you do not know, egg bread is NOT shaped like other breads. its dough is braided. The bread that Silver Moom is actually using is a texas toast, which is very common and good, but its not Challah bread. Which is a preferred bread when making french toast. For this false advertisement, they loose a star in my book. but i'd still eat there again, good food and service. read more

This place has the best broiled crab cakes. The service is fast and efficient. The staff is very helpful. I always get the broiled crab cake platter with glazed and mashed potatoes . They also give you a delicious side salad . The desserts are awesome . The carrot cake is amazing. read more

This place is terrible. We wasted 20 minutes in this dump waiting for breakfast food. The waitresses looked like washed up junkies. There was one waitress working who was barley working. She was eating drinking and talking loud about her personal business, while customers were waiting for their orders to be taken. It wasn't even crowded only about three tables were occupied. My husband and I just left. I won't be back. The owner has the nerve to get mad because I voiced my opinion about my experience. She said they test for drugs once a month. For a diner, this establishment serves up excellent jumbo lumb crab cakes and some unexpectedly delicious french fries. A friend and I visited for dinner and ordered the above along with a crab salad (both the salad and crab entree came with a soup and side) and baklava for dessert. The soups available were manhattan clam chowder, maryland blue crabs, and corn chowder. The bill came out to about $40. We loved nearly every part of dinner, including the service, and our palettes were more than satisfied. (One hiccup was that some of the leaves in the salad were dead and rotting. We were so in love and preoccupied with the rest of our dinner that we didn't even bother complaining, but I'm sure they would have given us a new salad if we asked for it). Because of our pleasant surprise with silver moon, we decided to drive 5 min further down Pulaski Hwy (Rt 40) to Double T Diner and try their fare. Unfortunately, that was a huge mistake. As NYC visitors to Baltimore, of course we ordered the jumbo lumb craP cake which came with a choice of potatoes and soup. The cake tasked like crab meat mushed with bisquik batter and quickly broiled. There was no texture except the mushy batter inside the cake and little taste. Also while $3 more than the silver moon price tag, these were significantly smaller in portion size. We got french fries to compare with Silver Moon; they were slighty soggy and resembled defrosted fries that were stuck into the oven. We also got broccoli which arrived overcooked and mushy. The soups offered were lentil, corn, and chicken nodle; nowhere near the same quality of offerings from Silver Moon. We got the lentil which tasted like lentils with sugar and ketchup. My friend also ordered a breakfast combo which is served 24/7. His sausages were terribly oily, homefries were simply mashed up potatoes that were fried (no onions or peppers or seasoning). They tasted like of the same poor quality as the french fries. Finally, the bread basket came with a used butter cup thrown inside and the soda cup came cracked and leaking. The waiter was also a little awkward and unkind. Needless to say, we will never return and will stick to Silver Moon from now on. read more

Have been there multiple times over the last year. Food is inconsistent. Sometimes okay, other times greasy or wayyyy undercooked. Asking for the food to be cooked more is not really an option. Owner is useless. Basically a shut up or get out kind of attitude. Food would be rated a 3, service a 2, and the owner a -2. Oh, and a few suspect looking creepy crawlers on the floor under the table. Needs a deep cleaning for sure. Hi. I've been going to the diner for years. I find them to be consistently good with moments of greatness. The crab cakes are among the best to be found and very Baltimore. Love the Crab Salad Croissant as well. There omelets are huge but find them to be nice and fluffy and packed full of whatever chosen. Their feta omelets are my faves. Being a fan of Eggs Benedict, I had to try them yesterday. Way too much hollandaise but overall very good. I have to say that they were the best poached eggs I've had in years. Whites perfectly cooked and when you poke the yoke all of creamy, deliciousness come oozing out. Yum! And love the fact that when you ask for crispy bacon, you get it. Don't be afraid to try the Greek dishes - being Greek their dishes are among the best in the area. If you want dessert, make sure you save lots of room or better willing to share - they are huge. :o) But oh so delicious. The service is always great being a family owned restaurant. Terrific staff retention which says a lot about a place. Even when the diner is packed and the staff may be dealing with needier diners, I have never had them be anything but pleasant and friendly. They are also willing to accommodate special requests and allergies. I am allergic to strawberries and when the food isn't prepped ahead they are more than willing to substitute; have even suggested a substitute that would go well with the dish. With only a few days notice, they accommodated a luncheon following my Mom's funeral allowing us to create a limited version of their menu. Needless to say that I love this place and consider it very family-oriented. read more

This is my family's go to food spot because the food is so delicious and you get such huge portions for a great price! We just went today after my sister's dance recital. My mom and I split the stuffed mushrooms and we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious and big they were. They were pretty much 4 big crab cakes with mushrooms at the bottom. Also, the crab mac & cheese is great. The menu is huge and there is so much to chose from so I try to get something different every time. I have yet to be disappointed. They always give u bread to begin with. With the exception of some specialty seafood items, most of the menu is $12 and below. We have been going to this diner for many many years and last night was absolutely the last time we will walk in the door. It had nothing to do with the food and rather everything to do with the service. We called ahead as we were coming with a large group and when we arrived, there only three filled tables, so there was no issue and we were spread out around multiple tables in the restaurant. Enter the most disrespectful, rude and awful waiter I've ever encountered in my life. From the moment we sat down, he excused us of stealing and spoke to us like we were children. When we asked to speak to a supervisor he yelled at us and said that we could only deal with him. We should have just left then, but we had already settled in and decided to just eat our meal. One of our group ordered a salad and while waiting for it, someone else gave this member of our party her left over salad dressing so she'd know she'd have enough. Twenty minutes later, still no salad, when we inquired it about it this horrendous human being yelled at us that we were liars and she had already eaten her salad because she had a cup of salad dressing. We finally convinced this man that she did not get a salad, he brought her one and THREW IT AT HER. I will never subject myself or anyone I care about to this place ever again. I've only come here for breakfast, and it's your typical diner breakfast with a healthy dose of drama. The last time I came, two of the workers in the back have a volatile relationship and they were arguing and throwing stuff while shouting in Greek. Then, after our waitress explained the argument to us, she got roped in as well. It makes for a funny story, but not the most serene start to your day. The prices are so-so, and I think you could do better at places like the Double T diner, but it's not bad. If you are watching your salt-intake, though, be careful. read more

Everything about this place is typical diner, except the food was far better than most. The menu is absurdly large - not including the 10 or so daily specials. The soups are outstanding in particular the MD crab and cream of crab. The salads are outstanding as well. Most are $12 including a cup of soup and are enough for 2 people. The entrees range in size and price but most are under $15. Seafood options hover near $20. If you are undecided, get the crab cake. I had the sandwich and it was one of the best I have ever had. It gets crowded here at times, especially on weekend mornings. The service tends to keep up and the food comes out amazingly fast, so the wait times are kept manageable. read more

Friend got the Waffle and I got the french toast. I don't get it. People on Yelp say this place is great and when I was there I even asked the waitress for their recommendation. She recommended the Waffle as "being the best" I asked her if they used a special batter and she said no. So essentially it's just batter and waffle iron. As for the french toast... there wasn't anything special about that either. Nothing unique about the bread or in the manner in which they prepared it. We both ordered eggs and bacon. My husband and I recently bought a house in Middle River and this place is just down the street from us. We typically go here for breakfast though I have had lunch there on occasion. First thing: the portion sizes are huge. With the lower prices than we're used to (think Double T), I assumed smaller sizes. We've yet to finish a meal. We've had just about everything on their breakfast menu and everything on it is awesome. Great coffee as well. I've had a few of their sandwiches (buffalo chicken wrap) for lunch and that sort of fare is okay, but nothing to write home about. The menu is overwhelmingly huge and it would take me months to sample something from each section. I am assuming most things there are hit and miss. Lastly, we sometimes come here when we want desserts. They have so much stuff, from cheesecakes to cannolis. I had the cannoli and it was wonderfully creamy. No complaints. My husband had an apple turn over that was also incredible. They have cakes, pies, puddings, you name it. The wait staff has always been lovely -- at least our waiters. The front staff seems to typically be grumpy and there's been times when I've heard them complaining about their coworkers. The front of the diner is really packed and difficult to move around in, since the check out is inches from the entrance. But service itself has always been quick, warm and friendly once we're in our seats. Overall: great for breakfast and desserts. Menu has a little too much on it, but otherwise no complaints. The restaurant does not take reservations so we called ahead as requested by the staff. When we arrived the greeter told us that it did not matter that we called ahead, that they were not going to seat us because they decided to seat a large party that was just arriving (and did not call ahead). The staff then started talking very horribly about us to each other right in front of us, granted they were speaking in Spanish and had no idea that we were fluent, but what was said was absolutely atrocious. Meh... my husband and I wanted to get something different. We ordered from Silver Moon Diner.. He ordered corned beef Ruben with potato salad and I ordered Veggie Pita.. My husband (being a cook for a living) was unhappy with the color of the corned beef. Half of it went into the garbage. The potato salad needed flavor, salt, pepper and OR vinegar. I ordered Whole Wheat Wrap "No cheddar ~ plz grill veggies well" no ff, sub out with coleslaw, anything but ff and did get the wheat wrap... AND the cheddar and the ff!!! No calling the restaurant... no asking for a refund. My garbage can ate well tonight.. we will NEVER order from this place again. read more

I've heard so many awesome things about this place. However a waitress with a nasty attitude(Stacy P) can ruin your experience. I honestly have never had a waitress as short as she was with me. Every time she came back to the table she stank like a lit cigarette. The yoga pants with her back hanging out was lovely also. As for the food, the crab cake was awesome! The steak was just bad business. The coleslaw was spoiled and sour, I hope the one bite I ate doesn't kill me later. The green beans tasted old, the bread was good, so that's a plus...I think? I happened to be in the area and this local diner was the closest restaurant that didn't have an awful Yelp rating. Plus, some Yelpers recommended the seafood, so I figured it was worth a try. I actually thought service at this diner was okay. Having dealt with people in this area, who are generally a bit gruff, I don't have high expectations. The only issue is they gave me the wrong kind of potato, mashed instead of fries. Aside from that, the fried seafood platter was not bad at all.
