I've never left a bad review. I prefer to speak with my server, and have discussion with manager. I know not to expect anything great at Reisterstown Dinner, but it's convenient for breakfast after a gym workout to spend a moment with a friend. We go like to go every few weeks. Ordering breakfast, and pretty much the same thing. This time we ordered the spinach omelet, and normally it came with cheese - it's $14. They make their omelets poorly, and overcooked, but again it's convenient. Today's spinach omelets no cheese, and it was inedible. My socks are probably tastier. I told my server, and told her this wasn't her fault. I asked to speak with the manager, or owner. I stood at the counter at least 5 minutes, and then returned to the table. I thought I would be acknowledged. Nope. I spent $34 added a $7 tip- on coffee, toast, and home fries. I wanted an edible omelette after my workout. My body requires protein in the morning. Instead ignored. I was given the excuse that the owner was busy after asking again. I guess they were too busy to address a customer's concerns. It's the customer that doesn't say anything is a bad thing. A customer that tried their best to explain concern to management and owner is even a worse mistake. Never again. read more

Nice spot for any time of day. The large menu ensures everyone can eat what they want; I got breakfast while my friend got lunch. The coffee was typical diner coffee, pretty good with some cream and sugar. My meal was great, eggs cooked perfectly the way I wanted them and the scrapple was delicious. I was shocked at how good the scrapple was, as someone who lives in Pennsylvania, it was better than most scrapple I've had in my area which is pretty impressive. Waiter was very kind and patient as it took a long time for us to decide on what we wanted as we were yapping a bit catching up. The only cons are its a bit dated and the prices are quite high for a diner. All in all, it's good typical diner food, good service but the prices are slightly above average. read more

I really wanted to give this place five stars! It's in my neighborhood and a small diner. I get take out from here often but this was the first time I physically visited and had an onsite experience. The food was fantastic! I have always had great food here so that is consistent. I ordered the Rib Eye Steak with eggs and hashbrowns. Delicious! Savory! Yum! Our waitress was super friendly and food came quick and the order was just what we asked for so all good there. I checked in on Yelp and saw the free beverage offer so I asked the waitress about it. She had no idea and said she would ask someone and come back. Another person came over and I showed them the app and the offer and the check in but they were also saying they didn't know if they could honor it and went to get the Manager. The Manager came and basically said it was fraud and she didn't know about Yelp or what it was and started telling me that they don't offer any discounts on food and if I order it I pay for it. I explained it was just for a beverage and that it was ok if she didn't want to honor it. She said she would return to our table and needed to check something. Ultimately when we paid for our food at the counter after waiting 10 minutes for her to return, the discount was honored but just poor communication and poor choice of words during the conversation. Waitress was great, the older woman who was the Manager not so much and as she started talking over me getting louder and louder, she even took off her mask and was so close to my face I was uncomfortable because since I was eating I was unmasked. Small parking lot but also easy to park. No alcohol. Restrooms were not filthy but also could have been cleaned more thoroughly. When you enter there is a huge pile of papers and business cards on a table in front of a cork board with the same type of content. Could use a good cleaning, paint job and some redecorating for sure. I may still order carry out/ delivery. Local diners like this struggle to compete with larger restaurants and I love the food. It was so empty in there as in addition to us there were only 3 other tables occupied. I'm going to still support them as they are in my neighborhood but definitely won't visit anymore. Reisterstown Diner has the best breakfasts in the area. My wife and I go there at least once a week. The food is consistently good and the service is awesome. All the servers have excellent customer service skills. But it isn't just the breakfast that we like. Their lunch and dinner specials are good as well. We will continue to patronize the Diner because the food is good, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is excellent. read more

Go for the table! Booths are tight. Diner with all the diner defining choices. I like the option of "small" plates of sausage and gravy or pancakes. By small they mean a normal portion for one person. Small coffee cups and irregular refills. Have had some great meeting that were very comfortable. And some business meetings were we couldn't get service. Food has been good. Grits get a good score most of the time. Later in the morning they get a bit solid. I went to dinner here yesterday with friends. All the food served looked and tasted delicious. My friends got matzah ball soup. I got the French onion. These soups were delicious! I ordered one of the posted specials, flounder Florentine over linguine. Absolutely delicious, and a large serving! Fresh spinach, lightly sautéed and the perfectly cooked flounder tasted like it was cooked in a franchise sauce with exactly the right amount of lemon over a mountain of linguine. I wandered into this diner while waiting for my car to be serviced at Len Stoler Lexus, which is about a quarter mile down the street. The food was ok, service attentive and the prices reasonable. The decor and appearance leaves much to be desired though. Mix match chairs and no color synchronization. If it weren't for me being close by, I would not have stopped in. Nothing spectacular. Came to this place with a few friends yesterday for a "breakfast for dinner" type thing. We were seated immediately and put server was hilarious. I ordered the shortcake of chocolate chip banana pancakes which came with two eggs, home fries, and a side of bacon. The bacon was crispy and delicious, the pancakes we're great, too! The banas we're cut fresh and the chocolate chip to pancake size ratio was pretty generous. I did have a few complaints though, the juices are not free refills, they only cook eggs in three ways and for some reason they couldn't do sunny side up which made me sad. For as big and expansive as the menu is, I would think cooking an egg sunny side up would not be that difficult. But, the food was very cheap I only ended up with a bill of $11 before tax! read more

I've been too much better diners in my day. Came here for breakfast with my father and daughter. Parking lot is pretty tight so be careful where you park. After arriving we were seated at a table in the center of the restaurant. Looks like it was hastily wiped down after the previous people had finished. Table was a little wet still with some food particles still on it. The waitress was friendly and immediately took our drink orders. I had coffee. My dad and daughter had orange juice. Probably should've ordered our food at that time but we decided to just wait for our drinks. This turned out to be a little bit of an error on our part because the service was a little slow. I usually do a pretty basic breakfast so I ordered a short stack of pancakes the hashbrowns and scrapple. My daughter only wanted bacon and eggs. And my dad ordered bacon eggs with a side of grits. While waiting for our food I noticed there was no regular sugar at the table. They did have some of the artificial sweeteners but I never use those. I wanted to ask my waitress to bring some regular sugar out but it took her a while to come back around to our table. The food coming out was a little slow. I ordered my eggs scrambled firm and they came out a little burnt. The scrapple was good and the pancakes were more than filling. Eventually the waitress finally came back around and was able to bring out the sugar for my coffee. But by this time it was cold. My daughter and my father enjoyed their food but they complained that their bacon was chewy and rubbery. They would have preferred more crispy bacon. The prices were pretty cheap so I can't complain there. Overall it was OK but I would not make any special trip just to come here. read more

So this isn't my first review of The Reisterstown Diner, but we tried new things yesterday so I figured I'd let everyone know how good everything was, just in case you're considering one of the following: Their Chili. The Chili was delicious! There was just the right amount of heat - not too spicy, just a little kick. It can be topped with cheese and onions, but I skipped the onions and just got cheese. We ordered take out so I was expecting to see just a sprinkle of cheese on top once we got home, but nope...a nice layer of cheese was on top and melted gooey cheese makes everything better. A lot of meat, and a good amount of beans, so it's very filling! I took some of the home fries from our meatball sub meal, and topped them with chili (enter fat emoji here LOL) and it was SO GOOD!! Meatball Parmesan Sub Either we never noticed this menu item, or it's new. Either way, we decided to give it a try and the gamble paid off. It had huge homemade meatballs (with no weird fillers), provolone cheese, and the perfect amount of sauce where you could taste it, but it didn't ruin the sub roll and turn it to mush. Instead, hours later the leftover portion was just as good as the original! Strawberry Shortcake I expected to have one of those "shortcake" cakes from the store, or homemade cake biscuits, topped with strawberries and whipped cream. WELL....this resembled a layer cake somewhat. It was 2 fresh, soft, tasty white cake layers with a strawberry filling layer sandwiches in between covered in a very light and "whipped cream-like" icing, topped with a nice size strawberry. I loved it! There was no artificial taste whatsoever and tasted like it was just made fresh that day. Since it was layered, you were able to get a taste of each part with every bite! It wasn't heavy or overly sweet, so it was a delicious ending to our already amazing lunch! read more

Went for the first and the last time. Ordered the chicken parm and all but the outer edges (the breaded portion), was raw. It's as if they dipped it in the oil and then pulled it immediately out. They then brought me out another cooked piece in about 15 minutes. At that time, the rest of my party had already eaten and I had lost my appetite. we moved to the area about 2 years ago and have since been to the diner about 5 times. the food was typically decent and customer service was ok at best. Nothing to turn us away from repeat visits but noting to rave about either. our visit today was different! The diner had new menus, and the breakfast was good, but what really made our visit an amazing experience was the server. Derin served us and delivered an exceptional experience that made us want to come back. she was kind and patient with our 13 month old and offered assistance when we had trouble choosing a meal. when we asked about the kid meals containing dairy she promptly asked about allergies, and ensured our child's meal was safe. Our food came out hot and was very tasty. To the management: Darin made this a place I want to return too! You need more staff like her. read more

The first bad move was trying to seat us all the way in the back next to the bathroom when the restaurant was almost empty. We refused to sit there. I ordered over medium eggs with 1 slice of cheese pancakes sausage and asked for hot food. I was brought over lite eggs with two slices of cheese and the pancakes were so cold they wouldn't melt whipped butter. I told our sever to just bring me scrambled eggs and she comes back with scrambled cheese eggs. I told them just take it all back and I will never come to this place again!!! I saw a recent rave review about the Stuffed Shrimp so of course I had to try it. This was my first time here and I won't be back. I ordered exactly as the previous reviewer wrote, bc her food looked amazing! I got the broiled stuffed shrimp and asked for it to be blackened. It was blackened, alright. I really wanted to love this place, but my food was so disappointing. It appeared fried and not boiled, was a super small portion, and was filled with breading. My husband ordered chicken fingers as an appetizer and a meatball sub with fries. Neither was anything to write home about, but they were good enough.
