What I will say is this. Tina is a Professional. We will be boarding our dog Riley for 4 days. She met Riley first. She took the time to understand her temperament. Her years of service as a Trainer for horses and dogs are excellent. Her contract spells out our responsibilities. She gave me good advice on a collar I had for Riley. She explained what I needed to do to support Riley. The collar needed more length. We respected her advice. I believe Tina and her team will know or adjust which arrangement for dog play will be best based on the temperaments of all the dogs when Riley comes. Tina has been in business for years. We have taken our dog to SRR 6 or 7 times and everything was good until the last two experiences. . We had him there for 3 nights and the dog was torn up around his head and neck. The handler tried to put him in our car with blood all over his head before I stopped him. Tina's favorite line is "dog's will be dogs" but our dog was neglected for 3 days. We do have a big strong dog that loves to play but also knows when to shut it down. They handed us his collar that had been chewed in two. I still can't figure out how a dog chews through his our collar when it is tight on his neck? The handlers do not have the same compassion for the dogs as Tina does and they are the ones that actually take of them. Love the setting and the people! Very welcoming down to earth owners who treat the dogs and clients with common sense and respect. Almost a year ago I walked onto the property, without a scheduled appointment, and was greeted with warmth and kindness. Know that the owners live in the ranch so it's not just a business. Still I felt very welcome. I was in need of training for my Border Collie pup. Tina, the owner, right then and there had a long chat with while assessing my dog. She gave me a tons of pointers, advice, and a refreshing layback attitude. So many trainers find so many faults you feel desperate to take their classes. That was not the case here. Tina assured me my dog was JUST a rambunctious pup and not the crazed violent savage others had told me he was. We talked for almost 2 hours and she gave me sound pointers, advice (opinion) and put me at ease. Right then I started doggie day care. My dog loved it! He came home tired and loved going to "the ranch". In day care there was no "training" but they play with other dogs and learned socialization. Months later I started agility and it is so much fun! Tina is a great trainer! She herself has prize dogs so she knows what she is doing. They have all the equipment and she gets those dogs climbing right away. Although, it's more about training handlers because the dogs just seem to know what to do with positive reinforcement and a hot dog!! My class is great! We laugh and learn with and from each other. Be aware that your dog must have some discipline, good recall, be able be off leash (for agility) and needs to be friendly with other dogs. It's sad when people are asked to leave because they can not control their animal. Since then we have started barn hunting with Marie and dock diving Ian. Both are supper fun but the scheduling times are tight and seasonal. Still we enjoy them when whenever we can get on that schedule. The Ranch is beautiful and relaxing. Most days we are there we end our visit with a stroll around the barns, other dogs and activities, sheep, goats, and chickens. I would highly recommend any of their services. If you're into dog sports, this is a place for everything! The location is big with different areas for different sports. They have barn hunt, agility, and a huge pool for dock diving. They also have a big pen of sheep but I don't think they do herding. We have been here several times for dock diving and really enjoy this place. It's clean and organized. The owners are really nice and responsive on emails however make sure to confirm appointments. I asked for a time but they never confirmed and I found out later they scheduled me but didn't tell me so I was a no show and felt terrible. The place also has board and trains it looks like however the dogs were out in big pens unsupervised which is not my kinda thing. If you're dog isn't prone to reactivity then I think it's fine but if they are - this might not be the best place to kennel them. read more

For sometime now my GF and I have been searching for a business that we can leave our beloved pets with when we travel. As two individuals who have no really family to rely on for this, or any friends who can take them in, it has been crucial to find a business we can trust. I can confidently say after over 6 months of using Silver Rose Ranch that I trust nobody else to take care of our dogs while we are away. First we started small, daycare, overnight visits, weekend trips... then as time went on we planned longer trips like 3 days, 5 days. Recently my GF and I were able to leave the country for 10 days and we could not be more thankful. Tina and her team took care of all our dogs special needs when it comes to eating or being cleaned. They received their medicine when needed and Tina would even communicate with us via email any issues and possible delays on our return. To say we are thankful for the ranch is an understatement. I left my dogs the last three weeks at Silver Rose Ranch while I cycled from north to south Vietnam. The high points of my trip included beautiful landscape & heart-warming people. The low points included extreme temperatures & some body aches. This was an adventure of a life time for me and the last thing I wanted to worry about was my 2 Whippets. I should've written this review years ago, when I lived 20 minutes away. I used to bring my other dogs who have since passed away (a lab, a pit, a Borzoi) when I needed boarding or day play. Elie, my lab of 16 years, loved this place for day play. He and I travelled the globe together (especially the Middle East) and I suspect the rustic smells may have reminded him of our time in foreign landscapes. I feel the ranch environment with natural smells invigorates and rejuvenates the dogs overall. All my dogs have been treated well and come back tired. My rambunctious and curious puppy Whippet was even trained here about 2 years ago using all positive enforcement methods. He's still rambunctious and curious, but he knows his commands! Now I live over an hour away and still trust my dogs at Silver Rose for boarding. I visited and considered other places, but some of the benefits of Silver Rose includes: a less kennel feel, years of experience (many other places have "know-it-all" youths that have some strong opinions about dogs, but lack experience), consistent staff (I've had the Whippets a few years & the staff remember little details I suspected someone to forget), plus this place accepts titers and doesn't encourage over vaccinations (this is a huge issue for me since I pay good money for yearly titers and work with a holistic vet). I wish I lived closer so I could bring my dogs to day play. I've surveyed several name brand and highly places near me. However, they just don't match my expectation and experience with Silver Rose Ranch. This is why I decided to leave my precious gems at Silver Rose even though it's over an hour drive for me. On my cycling adventure I emailed to inquire about them and was given a quick reply while on my trip. I genuinely was grateful for the staff that I didn't have to worry about them while I was several thousand miles away. Something interesting happened as I stopped at my bank to get money to pay for the boarding. It turned out the teller has brought his dog to the same place! They leave the dogs unattended in a barn in the humid heat. They wouldn't allow me to see the barn or the property when I visited. It appears they don't have a limit to how many dogs they take for boarding, big and small dogs in the barn to fend for themselves, rough and shy dogs together. Dogs are also left outside in a cage for boarding. Water bowl is left in the barn and dogs pee and mark the bowl, sitters don't care. People that work there seem to care more about doing their daily yard maintenance activities. Spend the extra money and get your pup to an AC facility. Our dog was very happy here! This was the first time we boarded our dog and we're so glad we chose Silver Rose Ranch. Scheduling a pre-meet was as easy as an email. Tina responded soon after my email and she made the scheduling process so easy for us. We were worried our dog would not socialize with other dogs but he fit right in and he seemed to be happy there. This place is a unique jewel of a find. I have been searching for a local dog dog club and she's got it. I'm seasoned with dogs coming from professional trainers (parents) who breed raise and train international champion field trial dogs with a private kennel. I must admit I was very impressed with how they turned this quarter horse ranch into a functional training and boarding facility for dogs. Teri is the owner who answered my emails immediately and very helpful. We live an hour away, it's not bad driving at 7 am on a Saturday so no traffic. It's gated but the sign says honk and it opens, you drive in and find your way to the pool. I expected it to be much more formal like start on time paperwork done payment made but it's not at all, she eventually found her way up and just said enjoy yourselves. I could never spend a full day so only planned staying a few hours. The bad part about that is, unlike other clubs who sign you up at times to jump and pay a tenth of the cost , you have to pay the full day and take untimed turns which means you jump one time per hour with like 6 dogs. So it may not be worth it in that sense, but the facility is clean, they have porta potties, and most of the other dog owners are friendly, inviting, and nice. Oh I also got to watch the owner train in the agility court. She is very patient and sure does love the dogs, she took her time to help give a dog confidence as they trained on the teter totter. All in all my experience with the facility and owner were awesome and wish her well am sure those who keep their dogs in her care are in good hands! read more

We have been boarding our two dogs at Silver Rose Ranch the last few years, and I can't stop saying good things about them. Here are just a few: 1. We love it so much, that we drive all of the way from Hollywood every time we go out of town. 2. Everyone who works there is super nice, and our dogs love them (which is a big deal for one of our dogs who doesn't like most people.) 3. We always pull away knowing our dogs are in good hands. 4. There are very few places near LA that allow your dog to be free from a kennel without having to have an "a la carte" experience, and there are even fewer where you know they are being cared for by people who actually understand dogs - Silver Rose checks all of those boxes and then some. Tina is a very rude and unprofessional individual. I took my dog there today for agility and was told that my dog was not ready for such an advanced class. This is with just looking at my dog from my car and not even assessing her. I told her my dog has had formal training; 24 class sessions, in fact. She's passed beginner, intermediate, advanced and tricks courses, knows 45 commands and is AKC certified as a Canine Good Citizen; a test that she passed on her own. My dog also is a trainer for other dogs in the classes. Tina told me that PetSmart training does nothing for the dogs and that mine would have to take her behavioral classes and private agility training before going to her group agility training since those dogs are so advanced. I watched her class for about 10 minutes. My dog is way more advanced than those dogs; she could do all the obstacle courses and fetches on her own. One of the dogs was even growling at another dog. My dog is gentle and is also training to be a Therapy Dog. I don't think Tina wants new business because she has absolutely no customer service skills and her agility class only had two dogs in it. It seems that her style is to train with a heavy hand and my dog has had positive reinforcement training. I am so disappointed as I was looking forward to finding a nurturing place where my dog could have fun and challenge her mind. After reading a few other reviews and seeing how they treat dogs, I'm glad I'm not spending my money there. I do not recommend this place. I will find an agility trainer that will allow my dog to thrive because she is an incredibly intelligent, deserving and kind rescue puppy. read more

I was passing by this ranch and walked in to ask few questions regarding the dog boarding and the first response that I got from the owner was I'm not allowed to walk into this property and look around. I was standing by the parking lot while they were doing the dog training. I was trying to find a office to see if I could get some price quote. I was told that I could take a photo of their ranch sign so I could look it up on line. So I walked out. Or kicked out literally. So if you want to be welcomed, this is probably not a place to go. This is a long review- I want to be as thorough as possible so you can make a good decision for your dog. I took my 10 month old Great Dane puppy here for boarding. He is an intact male and is very submissive. He is our only dog. He is also a mostly indoor dog. I dropped off his bed, food/water bowls, rope toy, dog food, a few eatable chew bones and a plastic chew bone. I instructed the employee who helped us that we fill up his food bowl in the morning and he gets to eat however much he wants throughout the day and that is how we ration his food. I was told he would only have access to his food in the morning and evening, which was fine with me. He spent 6 nights here. When I picked him up he was limping, had lost about 10 lbs and had several bite marks on him, two of which the employee pointed out that they put some Neosporin on. I was told that he got into it with another intact male dog and that they had to be separated. I was told by Tina at the meet and greet that he would be put with dogs his age and play level (he is pretty playful) however, I was told by the employee that they had to put him with older, larger dogs because of his size. I was expecting him to be dirty since the facility is an old horse stable and they stay in the stalls at night and are playing in dirt areas during the day. His bed was so disgusting that we had to throw it away. I bathed him when we got home and discovered at least 10 bite marks/scars on him, several that had obviously been bleeding. I had to go back to the facility because we were not given his food bowls back and the toys. When I went back, they pulled the bag with the missing items out of a storage area and it was obvious he was never given any of the toys or treats and they did not use the food bowls. I was told later that they use their own bowls for sanitary reasons, which is great but I wish they would have told me that when I dropped off. When I mentioned the bite marks to the employee he said that my dog was not socialized and that he was still learning "manners". I was told that he played a lot and had a good time (?). The employees were very nice. Tina seems very knowledgeable and experienced. They have a large operation and a lot of dogs. The property is awesome and apparently they have a lot of return clients. I believe that most of the dogs may really be happy here but it was not a good match for my dog. My dog seemed beaten up and traumatized when I picked him up. When I emailed Tina pictures and my concerns I felt like she pretty much blew me off. read more

So I read alot of extensive reviews, if not all of the reviews of this place before trying it out. I called last minute and spoke with Tina, she instructed me to go to the website for more information and i had said, i already did my research. So i requested to come in same day for a meet n greet, and she told me to send an email, and to my surprise she got back to me within a couple hours and was able to fit me and Eva (my dog - 1 -1.5 yr old GSD mix). I was reluctant, and anxious due to my previous shepherd being completely 100% fear aggressive and frankly, i was not trained properly on how to handle or work with his aggression. So naturally, I was apprehensive. Who wouldn't be right? So, I arrive, was told by her staff to let Eva off leash and walk around the playpen area (with obstacles) and not to play with the equipment (Eva wouldn't anyways, she doesnt know what to do with it lol). So i let her off leash, and she roamed around sniffing things, then Tina came out to meet me. We chatted for a little bit about Eva and some issues and etc. I mentioned I was training with a private trainer and paid alot for it, and she was very curious as to how his tactics/methods were. Which i felt, if i'm to be honest, very invasive but I get your curiosity and encourage questions. I did read some reviews saying that she sounded "condescending" but I feel it may be a bit old-fashioned and tactical since she used to be a school teacher and has her methods. I agree that your pups and doggos will come back to you dusty and prob muddy or dirty if they like to paw at the water buckets then run around in dirt, afterall, it is a horse ranch. But I am definitely a fan of this place, its close, it has alot of room for dogs to run around in. The staff seem knowledgeable about the dogs and their behaviors. They know your dog by name. PROS: - large property, lots of play pens - groups puppy/energy/age with similar aged/energy dogs - they play 7am - 4:30pm - opened til 7pm - doggy daycare is 20$ - overnight boarding is 30$ - encourage bringing your own dog's food and dietary restrictions or accommodations and instructions - lots of activities and programs for your dogs (training session, group, agility, barn hunts etc.) CONS: - barns/outdoor (so it could get colder in the fall/winter months to come) - dusty (if you dont mind it, then i guess it wouldn't be a con) - personally, i don't mind it, but if my dog comes back covered in feces, then i'd be concerned at the sanitation regulations and hygiene for all the dogs' sakes. - large property and not sure how many staff are present to supervise or clean the pens or how often (but i guess you can ask) Tina is very knowledgeable about dog behavior. I was told that Eva was timid and anxious. but Tina reassured me the first day of doggy daycare, that she was the queen of the playpen and had a great time. It was good for Eva to be socialized with other dogs and she is playful, and very very very high energy. I learned alot about Eva just from the 45-50mins of our meet n greet. I have been boarding my 2 dogs (5 year old Husky and a 13 year old Jack Russell mix) here for the past 5 years. They do great here! My husky is always so excited everytime we turn down the street and sleeps for like 2 days when he comes home. I love how Tina sperates them by temperament during the day since my Husky has a lot of energy and my Jack Russell likes to lay around. Boarded my two Australian Shepherds for 9 nights in July and they came back happy, relaxed and tired. I have boarded them at other places and notice they look stressed out and anxious when I pick them up, that was not the case at Silver Rose Ranch. Tina and her staff are all so incredible! I can't imagine boarding my dogs (a spinster of a Beagle and a Mini Aussie pup) anywhere else after Silver Rose Ranch. Tina, Erica, and the rest of the staff are professional and friendly, and the Ranch itself is such a great property. The meet and greet was detailed and succinct; Tina brought my dogs and I into the training area with several other dogs to see how they reacted to and socialized to others. After several minutes of observation, she asked me to follow Erica for a tour of the property, while she observed my dogs for separation anxiety. Erica gave a thorough tour, showing me all the different areas for play and the kennels (which are SPACIOUS, by the way; no lines of metal crates in a room here). She gave me a brief schedule of what they do during the day, what their feed time is, and what I needed to bring should I choose to board. Back with Tina, she observed that my Beagle does have separation anxiety, and my Aussie showed signs as well. She recommended that I bring the dogs in for a couple half-day camps to get them acclimated to the Ranch as a "happy place," which I did in the following week. The Ranch, as stated, is a working Ranch. There are no windowed rooms, no mops to clean up messes, and doesn't smell like bleach. It's dusty and large, very well maintained, and full of open air. You can clearly tell that dogs are meant for running, playing, and being dogs. Instead of playgrounds meant for kids, they are given ample space for romping around and tussling about, the main reason I adored this place. There's a field where Tina trains for obedience and agility, and has various obstacles for that use. I don't recall seeing any toy breeds, but did see a lot of working breeds -- Aussies in particular. I boarded my dogs here for 11 nights. We left them with their own bags of food, blankets from home, and their food bowls, with no extra instructions. 12 days later, I picked up two very dusty and contented dogs with a couple great surprises: 1. The Beagle, who was slightly overweight and nicknamed "Cow," came back less Cow and more Beagle! You could see obvious changes in her energy level and general composure. This was the best surprise ever. This is also a great personal motivator for myself exercise more to keep her in this state! 2. The mini Aussie (just now six months; we had adopted him about 6 weeks earlier) had never received obedience training and was difficult to walk on the leash. It must've been spending copious amounts of time with other dogs and the staff, but he was great on the leash when I walked both of them at home. Tina's next obedience training is open at the end of the month, so I'm waiting to sign the Aussie up as soon as it is available. I also have several more trips this spring and summer, and will look to no other place for extended boarding. We've take our two girls (boxer/german shepherd mix) to the ranch when Tina first started boarding dogs. It was such a change from the other kennels that we had used. First of all, we feel that the girls will be safe at the ranch no matter if it is Tina or someone else watching over the dogs. As for the accommodations, we've seen the growth and the care that has been given to make sure that each dog has a clean and secure kennel. It is outside, so our dogs get a bath when they come home. Another important aspect of the ranch is the boarding of multiple dogs in the same kennel. Some places required that our girls be in separate kennels which was something we did not want. As for feeding, we have a supplement and a treat with the meal that is given each day (they don't charge extra like other places). Any change in routine and our girls don't eat as much, but compared to other boarding experiences our girls lose very little weight at the ranch. If it wasn't for Tina we wouldn't have the peace of mind when we travel (we've boarded them from two days to two weeks). I would, and have, recommended Tina to friends. read more

Took our 7 month old Great Dane Ludwig for boarding over 4th of July week and he did amazing. I emailed Tina while we were away just to check up on our pup and she was quick to email me back and updated me on how he was doing. This facility is located in a somewhat residential area where apparently barking is strictly frowned upon. In order to stop dogs from barking (you know what dogs naturally do) they put bark collars on the dogs that make too much noise. I have nothing against bark collars, we even use an e collar on our dog at home to train him, and it's really worked wonders. However, after boarding my dog at this facility for a week, my dog came home with 2 deep scabs on his neck where a bark collar would typically be placed. After messaging the owner of the facility, I was told my dog "loves to hear his own voice" and was "nonstop barking until he had the collar on". He wears his e collar quite frequently at home and has NEVER been hurt by it. After talking with our vet, it is clear that the intensity level of the bark collar used at this facility is so high that it burned my dog so badly that it left him with those 2 deep wounds on his neck. If you want to stop dogs from doing what they naturally do, then maybe you should move to a better location that doesn't put mine or other dogs at risk of being harmed for what they instinctively do. How are we supposed to trust people with our fur babies when they seem to not understand how dogs work to begin with or try to stop them from being dogs?? read more

Our go-to place for boarding! I realized I should write a review for Tina and her staff. The location is perfect for dogs. Our jack russell mix loves to come here and is instantly captivated by the surroundings. Though usually very anxious about dogs, she adapts well to playing with the other dogs here. I brought my dog to the ranch specifically for the barn hunt clinic and practice sessions. New to this sport, I emailed the ranch the day prior and Tina was very helpful and quick to respond. The ranch itself is picturesque. Situated in Beautiful rolling hills with a small can of sheep and chickens, it is a dog's dream. The staff was friendly and professional when we arrived, and I really appreciated the detailed information we receive during the clinic. One of my concerns about barn hunt was the potential harm to the Dogs or the rats. I believe Tina cares deeply about both issues and the rats appeared to feel safe and Also curious about the dogs. Most importantly, my dog appeared to have a really great time. Looking forward to additional practice sessions. Regardless of where you go, I think it's important to find shared activities with your dog because that's what really develops and strengthens the bond and keep them sufficiently stimulated. I wanted to give a shout out to Tina and her staff at Silver Rose Ranch in Chino Hills for taking care of our dog while we were on vacation for 9 days over spring break. I had not had a dog for over 30 years and my family rescued our dog about 6 months ago so I was unsure how she would do without us. Tina is very knowledgeable with dogs. I learned a lot from her and she is very nice and I will be taking my dog back her when we go out of town again. The dogs have a good sized kennel to sleep in at night and get out in big play areas spread throughout the property to play all day with other dogs. When we got our dog back she was so exhausted from playing with all the other dogs for over a week. Silver Rose Ranch does not only board animals but they have day care, training and other services offered. read more
