I later decided to use those diamonds to create a custom necklace. Throughout the process, I shared inspiration photos and discussed several design options before deciding on a curved bar pendant with a white gold chain. There was some miscommunication along the way regarding both the pendant style and chain selection, which I understand can happen when most communication is done through text. I even sent additional inspiration photos and screenshots from previous conversations to help clarify the look I was hoping to achieve. Once I received an updated image of the design, I felt much more confident and excited about the final piece. When I picked up the necklace, I did love the curved design itself, but I was disappointed in the diamond setting. The diamonds are much more covered than the stones in my bracelet, which makes them appear less visible and takes away some of the sparkle. Since the necklace was created from the same diamonds as the bracelet, I had hoped the setting would have a more similar look and feel so the pieces would complement each other as a set. (It don't have Cutlet Holes to allow light in at all) Overall, I think the concept and craftsmanship had great potential, and despite the communication challenges, I likely still would have left a stronger review had I been happier with the final setting. Unfortunately, the way the diamonds were set is what ultimately left me disappointed.

I expected to receive a quality ring and good communication throughout the process. I wanted to work with people I could trust with a ring I would wear for the rest of my life. Based on what I was told, I expected to have my ring within about eight weeks. Instead, I repeatedly found myself reaching out for updates rather than receiving proactive communication. When I finally received the ring after months of delays, the color of the white gold was not what I expected and was later confirmed by multiple independent jewelers to be outside their expectations for a ring of that age. What should have been an exciting experience became a lengthy and frustrating process. Timeline: Aug 22 Discussed the design in person and sent inspiration photos. Sept 5 Received first sketch. Sept 10 Approved design and left my ring/stones for CAD measurements. Sept 26 1:13 texted for an update. At 3:39 received the CAD rendering and approved it. Oct 1 Received a text that the wax model was ready. Oct 2 Tried on and approved the wax model. Oct 21 Received a text, "Hi, I have the 3D model of your ring. Please swing by and take a look at it. As soon as you approve it we can order your ring." This was the same model I approved on October 2. I pointed this out, I was told, "I was on vacation last week. I forgot. But yes, we ordered your ring on the 2nd." Nov 11 Called for an update. (9 weeks after design approval.) Nov 25 Called again. I was told the ring was delayed in customs. This was the first time I learned it was being made overseas. Dec 10 Emailed requesting the manufacturer, production location, and tracking information. Annette called but did not provide that information, instead citing customs and the government shutdown. (14 weeks after approval.) Dec 12 Received some additional information but still not the manufacturer or tracking details I requested. I was also told the Oct. 21 text meant the ring was already in production, despite asking me to approve a model I had already approved weeks earlier. Jan 5 Emailed again requesting an estimated completion date plus location and customs information. Jan 7 Received a call and email that the ring was ready. Jan 8 Picked up the ring. (18 weeks after approval.) March Noticed the white gold had become much more yellow than expected after only a few months. April Two independent jewelers confirmed the color was not what they would expect. May 5 Returned to the store. Ashley agreed the color was not expected and offered complimentary polishing and rhodium plating, estimating one day. May 9 Called for an update. At 11:04 I was told another project had delayed mine. At 1:32 I was called that it was ready, but I couldn't arrive before closing. May 11 Picked it up and immediately noticed it still wasn't as white as expected. Ashley and another employee agreed. Photos were sent to the maker. I was told they could remake the ring or replace the shank in-house. June 4 Called for an update. I was told there was no response from the manufacturer and that Annette would replace the shank in-house and "take the loss." June 15 Visited Nasr Brothers for an unrelated reason. Peter immediately commented that the color was not what he would expect for a recently rhodium-plated ring. We had it remade in platinum for about the same cost. I was quoted three weeks; it was finished in 17 days and exceeded my expectations in craftsmanship and appearance.

What a cool spot!…read more We turned one street too early by mistake, but I'm not mad about it! There in the old Small Fry building we saw a sign for Denton Vintage Market! I wouldn't have known if we hadn't randomly driven by. Our curiosity made us stop to check it out. FYI, don't be deterred by the construction out front. The parking lot is in the back, as is the entrance. We walked past a sign about shopping local and then we were immediately smacked in the face by all sorts of eye candy!! This is essentially a store built of local vendor booths, so there is a ton of variety when it comes to the different products and price ranges. I was really impressed by how reasonable most of the prices were and how different so many of the products were. Also, this place is like a Mary Poppins bag, everywhere I looked there was another new room. I never realized this building had this type of square footage from the outside. In one room I discovered a section of Small Fry items, that was so nice! I'm including pictures because I couldn't possibly tell you how extensive the selection is for children's clothing, toys, adult clothing, purses and totes, home décor, jewelry, skin care and even furniture. I saw multiple vintage tea sets, an old coffee pot and some really cool luggage. I really wish I had discovered this place before the holidays, I found so many perfect and unique items for all the different people in my life. The staff is lovely and there was some delicious hot chocolate there as well! They are open Wednesdays through Saturdays and they were also advertising upcoming painting classes. They don't have a website currently, so you can keep up with their events on Facebook. If you believe in shopping local then this is your place and these are your people! Check it out!
