I live 2 hours from my children and 70 is my highway! This place is exactly 1/2 way between our houses. I saw them on yelp and gave them a call. I asked if I could call ahead and they were more than happy to oblige! I had read the Cuban was really good so we went with it. Definitely a different Cuban but it was good. I will add my 1/2 of the sandwich had the heal of the salami that was very spicy. I had to pull it out. Anyway.... We got fries and coleslaw. Both of them need more flavoring. Located about half-way between Lakewood Ranch and Arcadia off highway 70 in Myakka City this would be a popular local establishment with visitors stopping in on their journey like me. There isn't much of anything out here except vegetable and dairy farms which is exactly how I found this place after leaving the Dakin Dairy. Family and locally owned since 2012 offering breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week, I suggest you bring your appetite cause this friendly staff knows how to put on the feed-bag. This is a place where you can expect the customers to open the door for you as they greet you, and thank you kindly when you do the same, you'll hear a lot of "yes sirs" and "yes ma'am's" and "thank you for coming", that's all well and good but most are here for the food as was I. I wanted a early afternoon breakfast but I missed the opportunity so we had to choose something off the lunch menu not that that's a bad thing - we ordered a Cuban Sandwich with fries and a Turkey and Ham Club thinking we would each share half with each other which we did but still had way to much food (I guess that's why they have stacks of to-go boxes). The Cuban Sandwich was different but definitely in a good way the meats were grilled on the flat-top as well as the nicely toasted bread and instead of ham they use salami I probably raised my brow when I noticed this but our wonderful server Katy told me I wouldn't be disappointed and boy was she right the melted cheese, mustard and crispy pickles made this a home run. The Club Sandwich equalled the Cuban although after taking my first bite of the Cuban I really lost interest in sharing but I did and have no regrets.This club sandwich was amazing, the seeded bread was fresh and delicious (I wonder if they use this for the breakfast toast?) Lot of sliced turkey and ham with fresh juicy tomatoes, Mayo and lots of thin crispy bacon mmmmmm. Okay no matter how I try this review won't do this place, the staff or the food justice but the full parking lot will, there's not a lot of competition in the immediate area but that wouldn't matter if I'm a local I'm coming here no matter the time of the day I hope to be in close proximity again soon so I can try more of this delicious food... read more

This is a great family run place. I've been in for breakfast three times now and it always hits the mark. The friendly, caring service has always been A+. I was well taken care of with being pestered. The pricing is very reasonable as well. The food comes out quickly and hot. I've had several different omelets that have all been excellent. The coffee is wonderful which is key for any place that serves breakfast. The hash browns are great also. Stop in and try it! read more

The fish they served at this restaurant was out of this world. I can't remember what the name of it was. I've never had fish better than this. It was flaky moist and had a wonderful flavor, I'm a salter, and I didn't even need salt. Unfortunately, it's a long ways away from Sarasota but it's a great place to go to. Off the tourist path in the cowboy country. If you happen to be on your way to the Atlantic coast side of Florida from Bradenton or Sarasota, make sure to stop by to grab breakfast or lunch here. Pretty laid back and friendly service. Breakfast served all day long, except on Fridays. Well guess what, I am here on Friday at noon. They stop serving breakfast at 11. No bit deal, I can improvise and order a sandwich. I got my club sandwich special. It is a lot bigger than anticipated but all good. Coffee is hot and the sandwich is good. That is all that matters. Pretty affordable, too, mind you. I will be sure to stop in when I pass by here next time. read more
