One star for my experience with concierge Frank. Rude, unprofessional, and thoroughly unhelpful.

We have a court case against this landlord and his staff. This is not his first rodeo in court violating civil rights. Today I had to call 911 at 11:07 AM as my entrance into the elevator banks was criminally impeded. A morning staff member M, reported 7 times to police. Call #4 was made in front of him and they are all recorded. Another morning staff reported in March for verbal harassment and disturbing my peace, all recorded. We had a meeting on 9/6/24 regarding criminal actions towards me during which time we presented audio, video and letters/emails from landlord/management. One of the people was alarmed by what they heard, saw and read. We are collecting documentation regarding another criminal issue which goes into next week. I have attached photos of the aftermath of sharp objects, like improvised weapons used to deface my door and they are purveyors of filth throwing trash in front of my door. Who would have thought that people do this? Only here. The landlord is responsible for everything here, any documents received from management are legal and will be presented in court. More to come. L The last photo was shown to me regarding a robbery here. I stated, looks like the guy had soup and was playing cards. No L, he said, he was cooking up crack. What a mess for me to be in. DO NOT rent at Silver Towers. You will not get your deposit back. We are trying to get our deposit back for 4 months. We are filing a lawsuit by the end of next week as #silvertowers failed to return the deposit. Their employees akeep lying every week that they are sending a check (they've been sending it for 3 months), now they are saying that they are going to reimburse it online, but they have only one payment day which is Wednesday! This is ridiculous! We are going to demand a deposit, interest in using our money and moral compensation for waste of our time which is expensive. Anyway if you are ready to loose your deposit or to spend a lot of time trying to get it back, go ahead! read more

Every year I have completed a review of my building and it is absolutely still 5 stars. Silver Towers is more than two apartment buildings - it's a fantastic community made up of great people and a lot of fantastic animals. In addition - everyone on the staff here make our lives so easy. Monica - the building Manager and John are across everything and nothing is a problem. Phil our Head of Maintenance has the absolute best team of people and oh my goodness, you put in a request and it is dealt with ASAP. Their attention to maintenance of building codes is second to none. Then Tom - our Head of Security - he makes our lives safer and easier. We have fantastic activities arranged at no charge by the amazing Jill ( I'm sad that most times work timezones prevents me attending ) We have fabulous amenities a full length lap pool and an amazing gym with classes. Finally we have a team of people - too many to name, from our front desk lead by Dritan, our doormen who even in the coldest days have a smile - Dino / Francois / Richie / Mario - Then the team of porters who are the nicest people -willing to do anything for you to make your life easier. If you are considering moving here - go speak to Richard Fite in leasing ! His honesty and assistance in finding an apartment in the building that suited me was spot on. I have no affiliation with Silverstein Properties but I know how hard it is to find a lovely apartment and did I mention there is a daily back and forth shuttle at peak times along 42nd St? when I first moved into Silver Towers, I was thrilled with the ambience, service and professionalism. That all changed over the past year, as " the amenity package" has gone south. Our fitness center is a disaster. we have 8 treadmills, and 4 to 6 of them have been out of order for months. They consistently run out of sanitary wipes, so you can't always wipe the sweat off the machines. Multiple complaints have not yielded any results. The other " selling point" for us were the barbecue grills on the 7th floor terrace. Well, for a building with twin 60 floor buildings, we have 2 grills, and one has been non-functional since the start of the season ( and the grills are not consistently cleaned by the staff). Finally, the business center has computers that are often "off line" and the printer is inconsistent. Overall, you pay way too much to have a poorly responsive management team. read more

Let me preface my review by saying that I have lived in Silver Towers since April 2015 and barring a few complaints here and there, I was generally happy. Accordingly, in October 2019, when my boyfriend was looking into moving in, we upgraded to a bigger apartment in the same building. I have been so disappointed with the services and quality since moving, that I am now considering legal action to get out of the building for the following reasons: 1) Quality of appliances and finishings: All the appliances provided to me were old and of poor quality. my washing machine was leaking within a week of my move, the heating panel in the living room was not working (and the maintenance staff couldn't figure out how to fix it for over 5 days during the coldest week in January and both the refrigerator and dishwasher broke down over the course of the following months and had to be replaced (the dishwasher taking over 10 days to replace). The finishing in the apartment are also subpar - for example the bathroom shows inconsistent patches of a botched job. 2) Noise: the building has continued with internal construction through the pandemic leading to intolerable noise in the apartments. I am working from home and was unable to conduct my calls on several occasions. 3) COVID Precautionary Procedures: Given the aforementioned noise, I tried accessing the resident lounge on one occasion and was shocked to see that nobody was conducting a temperature check (i thought this was mandatory). There are also no temperature checks for taking the building shuttle either. 4) Building shuttle: While this was advertised to me as being every 20-30 minutes (and continues to be advertised as such on the building website), they have decreased the frequency to hourly during rush hour. They also turn away people making it impossible for my boyfriend to catch it to get to work. 5) Lost packages: The building has lost packages on multiple occasions over the last year. This has been extremely inconvenient over the course of the pandemic when we have been relying on deliveries. The building is certainly no longer offering the level of service and quality to match with its 'luxury' standard. NYC habitability is breached when promised services are not rendered by the building ! read more

I've lived at Silver Towers for two years. I couldn't be happier! I have a beautiful view of the Hudson River. The sound of the seagulls of the morning, and the soft breeze that comes off of the Hudson at night, just add to the beauty of Silver Towers. So many amenities, a beautiful 75 foot indoor swimming pool, and so much more. I highly recommend Silver Towers. read more

My husband and I moved to Silver Towers from California just a little over a year ago. We appreciate high standards, good customer service and good follow-up. Silver Towers has exceeded our expectations for a NY apartment complex providing luxury and convenience. I'm not a huge fan of the hustle and bustle of the city so the location of Silver Towers just along the Hudson River has been my saving grace. You can pretty much go anywhere from the complex as Port Authority is just a few avenues away. And if you're in a rush in the morning, you have the option of jumping on the shuttle which takes you through 42nd Street and stops off at every avenue. My other saving grace is the new Hudson Yards Subway station. Thank God is all I can say! It's a beautiful walk along the river or past Jacob Javits and if you don't feel like dealing with the touristy crowds at Times Square to get to Port Authority or other subway stations, you can quite easily walk into Midtown or jump on the 7 train at Hudson Yards. We also have the convenience of the dry cleaners right outside our door and for those late night snacks, the Sunac market is open 24/7 which pretty much stocks everything you'll ever need. We love our apartment. It's a 2 bed 2 bath with phenomenal city views from every room! If I ever leave, that's what I would miss. I love waking up in the morning and watching the sunrise while I make my coffee or watching the different colors of the sky while the sun sets in the evening. Staff and management are super friendly, courteous and helpful. Garage parking staff are just as nice, and the building itself is super quiet. We never hear our neighbors or the people above us! The amenities such as the pool, gym, fitness classes are all fantastic. The gym is a little on the pricey side though at $80 per month but you can pay in advance for the year which I believe brings it down to $50 per month. Unfortunately though, we are now looking to make a move due to a job relocation, and I have been conversing with management with regards to doing a lease assignment. The penalty for breaking a lease is insane....so the only other option for us is to assign the lease over to a new tenant. If anyone's interested, please reach out. MOVE IN AT YOUR OWN RISK - this is my third year and it was only when I moved to a different unit (a $4K per month studio) in November last year that I realized that this could be just the luck of a draw. I have not been able to sleep at all for the past 2 to 3 months because of very loud noises from ceiling - it sounds like a subway going over your head (hear it here: https://youtu.be/ytLDGREJt7M) that happens anytime between midnight and 6 am. The management is absolutely incompetent and lacks common sense - I have shared numerous recordings of these incidents and provided logs of these incidents happening since December, and the management response was: "We do not hear anything in neighboring units and neighbors aren't reporting back of any noise being heard. At this point, there's really not much we can do since the noise has not been constant and it's not being heard in other neighboring units." This should lead to a logical conclusion that there is something wrong with the unit itself, and that the management should accommodate my more than reasonable request for an internal transfer. NO - what I heard was, you are ON YOUR OWN and never mind that it is INHABITABLE, you shall pay the FULL RENT. So, please - move in at your own risk, but if I had a choice I'll stay away from the building. read more

The building has very thin walls and the noise complaints doesn't do anything. Management keep responding the same thing to you while they aren't really trying to solve the issue. I do NOT recommend this place unless you want to live with noise and being unable to focus on the work. I would not RENEW my leasing. read more

I have lived in Silver Towers for 3 years and up until about a year ago, I would have rated them 4 stars. It is a very well-maintained property. The issue is they continually lose staff. I live in the South tower and the front desk and door staff are almost all new. It would be unrealistic to think staff should never change, but the turnover is significant and that means the people we depend on the most are constantly in a state of flux. It's very hard on the staff who do stay and equally hard on new staff that lack the experience. It has become so pronounced that we have decided not to renew our lease. If you have lived in or consider living in a tower, the door staff and front desk staff are the most important asset to people that live here. It won't get better until Silverstein changes the management team because clearly this management team has lost its way. read more

If I could rate Silver Towers a "0," I would. My experience in the building has been a nightmare. The "luxury" amenities are all garbage. The apartment finishes are the cheapest of their kind. And the staff are complete snobs. I feel like I'm living in public housing. Don't be fooled by the guise of the exterior or the false demeanor of those in leasing. They'll ghost you the day after you move in and avoid your questions at all costs. I have friends in SKY (across the street) and they love it. Avoid this luxury hell-hole at all costs! read more

Thin wall, I hear dogs barking constantly, as well as construction noise from outside. Sales people won't care about you once you sign the lease. Even though it is a smoke free building, Residents don't seem to care as I smell different types of smokes on the floor. Some appliances are as old as the building (I.e., refrigerator that keeps sporadic temperature) The gym upstairs, you have to pay hefty amount for the membership (annual membership). It is really cramped with one smith machine. There is also a creepy guy in flip flops who is at the gym all the time just chilling, walking around talking loud and watching people. Extremely uncomfortable. There are signs for Do not drop the weights yet, most people just slam the weights down when they work out. read more

Simply put, unbeatable value in Midtown West. You'd think, from the advertising, that the high rise luxury buildings in Midtown West are all the same. You'd be pretty far off the mark. Despite changing high rents, most of these buildings are like cheap hotels - nice on the outside and in the lobby but tiny living spaces, subpar views, and amenities that are nowhere near as good as advertised. Plus their customer service is terrible. Silver Towers is not like that. Everything at this building, from the spacious gym to the decked out lobby to the customer service at the leasing office (shoutout to my man Richard) is held to the highest of standards. And that goes double for the apartments, which offer views that quite simply must be seen to be believed. Floor to ceiling windows wrap around the living and bed room of many apartments. And the penthouse collection apartments, floor 50+ I believe, are more window than they are wall. It's gorgeous. Waking up to those views is a dream come true. And the high quality flooring, top notch finishes, and smart layouts just make it all better. You simply will not get better value for your tenancy in Midtown. read more

Nightmare experience today seeing the complex. Was offered up to 2 months free for lease but when asked about 2nd year Tony from Silver Towers suggested a 2 year lease. When I asked the penalty to break the lease I was told it depends...same answer when I asked the price for parking. upon further questioning was told the building is not for me. Small kitchens, old development, rude management and worst of all, non transparent sales process. read more

I lived in Silver Towers for over three years. I'm horrified with Management. I have never been in such an unprofessional atmosphere. They overcharged us the moment we walked in, which had to be reversed. Now, on my last day, they charged me an extra month and want me to pay a $40 fee for the reversal. Let's start with the staff. Amazing, caring professional staff, excluding administration. I don't interact with administration, so I can't really give an opinion. The porters and engineering team are exceptional. Unfortunately, the building staff can't keep up with the dogs in this building. The block surrounding these buildings always have excess urination on the street. It's really too bad, because it could really be beautiful, at Silver Towers. You should really consider if noise is a factor when moving into this building. it's no secret that the Lincoln tunnel is across the street and traffic is always a mess. You hear everything from your apartment, no matter what floor you're on. So, consider an apartment facing 12th avenue. The shuttle service is once every hour which doesn't help when you have to to be at work at 8 and shuttle leaves at 7:30. Furthermore, you get denied, if the very bus shuttle bus is full. There are over 500 people in these towers and the shuttle allows , maybe 25 people. Consider taking the MTA, to assure a timely schedule. I had the time to write this, while on the MTA bus. I have been living in the North building for over one year. No issues at all with management with my lease renewal or with any maintenance issues. Tony was great on the initial lease and Ian was easy to work with with the renewal. Front desk staff is amazing, especially Kristen. The building is kept spotless, porters are on point. My apartment is great, and as a home owner for over 30 years, it is nice to have a maintenance team. The gym is excellent and managed by a true gentleman, Brendon. Though there is a fee for the gym, it is worth it. read more

I stand by my previous review. I came in a few weeks ago to visit my friend. Staff was still rude as ever and haven't learned to smile and hide their unbecoming attitudes. Clearly from the rest of the reviews, MGMT. seems to be a little more preoccupied with getting people to sign lease agreements rather than train their staff in appropriate customer service and overall manners. Silver Towers is an amazing place to live! I am about to move out after having lived here for over a year, and the only reason for leaving is that I need to live in a different neighborhood because of work. I am very sad to leave, as the building is great. I have been in an alcove studio which feels spacious if decorated correctly. Everything is super fresh and new! Before moving in I read some reviews about the apartments being cold in the winter, something that I never experienced being a problem. Some reviews also mentioned problems with staff and a high turn over, another thing that I never experienced. Everyone working in this building is great, super helpful and friendly, and the staff has been the same since the day I moved in. The shuttle service works great and I have been using it every morning. Would recommend everyone to check out this place, I will truly miss it. read more

Not to mention the finance department are like 5 year old. However, the people I deal with day to day are great. The building and views are amazing, especially for the price. I just called this place to ask the absolute most general question of all time about being locked out and not only could leasing shakers not answer by the manager refused as well. I wanted to know how much they charge if you're locked out because rumor has it hey charge $250 a day and I wanted to make sure before applying. She told em she could only tell current residents which makes NO sense. She was extremely rude and this is unacceptable considering the price of this place. Wow. read more

Came here to find myself stunned at the low rating...especially when only 2 out of the 6 reviews appear to be from actual former tenants. I lived here from June 2012 - July 2013 (just moved out) in the South Tower and am already severely missing it. Coming from an apartment in Chelsea where I had been spoiled by close subways and restaurants galore, I spent my first few months here bemoaning the stigma being associated with 11th Avenue. Once I got past that and saw how livable it was, I began to really enjoy it! APARTMENTS/COST ------------------- The actual apartments itself were nice -- everything standard you can expect from a luxury rental in NYC. Condo finishes, granite countertops, oak floors, washer/dryer, ample closet space, floor-to-ceiling windows, etc. We were on the 33rd floor facing the Upper West Side and Hudson and never got tired of the view (and any other facing view is much better!). Trash chute/recycling room on every floor, nice carpeted and lit hallways. We had gotten our apartment during a "deal" and were playing slightly under market value for our 2BR/2BA apartment so for what we were getting, I felt it was fair (for NYC). MANAGEMENT/STAFF ------------------- While our experience in leasing office was fairly seamless, neither my roommate or I were too big a fan of those that had worked there. The original agent we had somewhat misled us on the exact rent but after a few annoying back and forth's, it all panned out. Outside of this move-in, didn't really have to deal with them that much, so can't really cite this as a dealbreaker at all. That said, the staff is AWESOME. Extremely professional and always had a positive attitude. I already miss all the great doormen that made Silver Towers a truly luxury experience. No matter how ridiculous or late in the day the request or question or favor, I always felt as I was treated with professionalism and respect. Any maintenance fixes were usually done that same day and was very efficient. Even my guests found my doormen endearing/helpful! AMENITIES ------------ For all the amenities that Silver Towers has (or I should say, markets), I found myself rarely using anything outside the gym. It's definitely a little bogus you have to PAY to use the gym in the building but it keeps never too busy so I didn't mind. Also, it comes out way cheaper than a typical NY gym and includes use of the pool (not found in too many buildings, let alone gyms). Roof top was only open half the year and closed at 10 which is standard but kind of lame. Other than that, pretty straightforward for a luxury rental. It was definitely nice having a dry cleaning service and cafe downstairs (Silver Platter is good!). LOCATION ------------- While I initially complained about the location for a good bit, you also need to remember that the neighborhood is changing everyday. Month to month, there is something new springing up that quickly makes the awfulness associated with the Far West Side disappear. Getting to the subways is kind of annoying but from a work commute perspective, I would highly recommend making use of the shuttle service. It runs every 20 minutes in the morning and evening and drops you off at every avenue on 42nd Street from 8th to 1st. The shuttle bus quickly became a part of daily routine during the winter/rainy/lazy days and found it a pretty enjoyable experience (leather seats, chill driver, etc). The M42 bus also became an unintended staple in my life. For the most part, you never really have to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for it to come and it's a 5-10 minute journey to Times Square, 15-20 to Grand Central (depending on traffic). These same time estimates also apply if you were walking also. The far west side does make cabs very easy to get so never really had a problem finding one (definitely handy if you're late to work). A downside to the location I didn't expect - the sound of the foghorns from the ships on the Hudson: they are VERY loud some mornings. They just opened up a grocery store under the building that is very thorough but there is also a Food Emporium/CVS and liquor store all within 5 min walking. You can get to the Hell's Kitchen restaurants in 10-15 minutes. -- All in all definitely enjoyed living here and would highly recommend it. Only moved out because we wanted to pay a lower rent. Only serious downside is location which quickly becomes manageable. read more

I spent over $110,000 in two years as a resident and the last year has been awful. Elevators break down, rude and none customer orientated management, keys not working and malfunctioning keys. Though you will find a diamond in the rough of good people at the towers, when you get to management they stone wall you and have lawyers talk to you about simple tasks. For residents... don't go to management (just ask the employees to help you and you'll get what you are looking for) It might look good at first, but take it from a former resident that will all change fast. read more

This is my very first yelp review. I am currently in my second year of residence here in the building and I would like to leave a review based on my experience. Silver Towers is a great building by itself. Amenities are never too crowded to be actually used and management respond rather quickly to daily requests. The staff at the front desk are also very friendly and helpful. Giving it four stars is showing how much I have enjoyed it. But there are some complaints as well. When I relocated from my older unit 42H into my new unit, I made arrangements with the leasing office but when the security deposit is returned, over a thousand dollars are missing and the billing department told me that they have not received any notes from the leasing office about the arrangements I had made. So I guess sometimes the communication between departments aren't that great. Although everybody miss something or make mistakes, I want to make a note on Larysia, the leasing officer who helped me to find two apartments for me here at Silver Towers. Not to exaggerate, the reason why I successfully renewed my lease with Silver Towers was because of her. At the time, I already started looking at units in other buildings in Chelsea and so on because I wasn't overall satisfied with the renewing offer. But she noticed my relocating request and reached out to me. She really tried to help me with everything. Although rents and conditions aren't vastly different from how they were before her help, I appreciate the extra care in her efforts to accommodate the problems I was having. So I also made effort on my end and eventually decided to stay. Thumbs up for Larysia and I recommend her to anyone who wants to view Silver Towers. Five stars for Silver Towers itself and Larysia. Minus one star from the unsolved transferring billing situation. Four stars total. Hope you find my review helpful. read more

Just moved in a couple of weeks ago, and I can definitely say: great building, great staff!! Super friendly and helpful. Hard to understand the negative reviews (occasionally there are people who live here who perhaps don't treat people with the respect they deserve, I suppose that could be part of it...), I guess some of the responses from Paul D seemed a little detached, but anyway he no longer seems to work here. I just tonight had a minor, low priority issue with the blinds in my apartment and filed a ticket using the building web site at about 8:30pm, and literally had someone come take care of it at 9pm (on a Friday night)!!! Really amazing service. Special shout out to in the rental/management/maintenence side to Richard, Carolina, Phil and Cait!! All been great! And Aaron, Raul, Mike, Jonathan (and more) are all great friendly faces in the lobby every day. read more

I love coming home. l have been living at Silver Towers for over 2 years now and find the staff and services impeccable. Originally from a small town in California, I never thought I'd find a place so warm and welcoming in this city full of millions of strangers. I've had no difficulty with any of the building staff or management (Richard, Ian and Matt have been very helpful since inception). It's nice to be called by name, and welcomed home after a long day at work or after a long walk in the city. The additional amenities, such as the pristine gym with a pool and rooftop deck -- Club 7 and convenient underground parking garage -- Quik Park (you can even get your car washed for an additional fee) and the natural food market -- Sunac, literally steps from the entrance, makes it very convenient and pleasurable to live here. Oh, and I almost forgot, the newly opened Spot (canine club) is right next door too! This is one of the few buildings in Manhattan that I know of that allows pets. Another neat experience is the communication forum using BuildingLink.com software. You have access to literally everything in the building, from building announcements to messages to/from management or facilities. Be careful when you post a maintenance request though, such as a lightbulb needs replacing, maintenance may be knocking at your door minutes later. There is also a Neighbornet section on the site which is like a polished version of Craigslist, but just for the building. Transportation is easy, besides having parking in the building (for a fee), the free building shuttle bus that runs up and down 42nd street is convenient. The crosstown bus (M42) which is at the corner across the street is another option should you miss the free shuttle. The nearest subway is on 8th Ave. which is about a 10 minute walk. But if you're in a hurry, one of the doorman would be more than happy to hail a cab for you. Did I mention I love this building? I am leaving this building because of business ventures out of state and hope I can find a place of comfort with the quality of service like I have experienced here. Living in the city with a bunch of strangers isn't easy but Silver Towers makes you feel like you belong. Hats off to Dino, my favorite doorman; Mike (Dritan) my favorite front deskman; and Aaron, my favorite all around guy. I will miss them! read more

I just signed a lease at Silver Towers. I was dealing with Tony Caputo from the Leasing Office -very nice and professional guy, i strongly recommend that whomever is looking for a lease there, ask for him! As for the building, even though it is a few blocks away from the subway stations (10 min walk from the A-C-E, 13 minute walk from Time Square station, and 10 minutes away from 34st. Hudson Yards station), they offer a free daily shuttle service across town, in the morning and in the evening. As for what made me choose this building, it is the experience at the leasing office, the views, and the pool - one of the best in Manhattan. read more

You can all luxury you want at this amazing tower for affordable price compared to sky tower across the streets. The leasing agents there (Maja and Richard) are beyond expectional. Very friendly, hard workers and willing to please you with your dream home. The first building to view on a rough shopping day and ended up leasing there!!! This building is beautiful and has breathtaking views of NYC and the Hudson. Our leasing agent was Larysia, and she was wonderful. She really listened to us and got to know us, and helped us find the ideal unit with both City and water/sunset views. She was patient, friendly and responsive. And was really helpful in getting all the paperwork done and arranging to move in in a timely fashion. The front desk and door staff are so friendly and make you feel right at home. The only real downside is that it is quite far from stores, restaurants, subway etc. The shuttle is helpful, but only runs a few hours a day. It would also be nice if they had a social committee to plan events to get to know your neighbors like other buildings do. read more

Finding the right rental apartment in NYC is not easy. Dealing with the brokers, management offices and the tediousness of getting around can rack up. On that fateful day last spring when I came to visit ST, it was coming down like cats and dogs. However, my leasing agent, Matt Montana, was a total rock-star. Showed me a variety of Studios and 1BRs, and ended up going with a 1BR in the South Tower. Pros: - FD Staff (Crystal, Jon, Freddie, Yuriko, Rich, Brandon) are extremely conscientious and genuine - Spectacular Views of the Hudson River - Sunac Market is AMAZING! - Maintenance Staff (Salvatore, Phil) are professional & efficient - Generally good sound isolation - New Resident Relations Manager (Jill Greco) along with Club 7 put on a lot of great resident events - Gym is ON POINT - Restaurants/Bars around ST improving (HK getting way better!) - Easy Re-Up process with Lease Renewal Cons - Minor noise leakage (typically from outside and apts. above/not much from neighbors agnostic of occasional bass, too be expected!) - Subways are a bit of a walk - Apts. get chillier during winter because of usage of glass (heaters work great, no issue there) Overall, 5/5, love Silver Towers! It's always been a dream of mine to live at Silver Towers and Tony Caputo was the man that made it come true. I've lived in the city for 4 years before moving here and this is by far the best place I've stayed at. I dealt with Tony Caputo in the leasing office and he was extremely patient when trying to get my questions answered and paper work done. He was able to work around my hectic work schedule and figure out everything for me while I was out of town. He made it so easy that all I had to do was sign the lease when I showed up and he took care of the rest. This is very convenient for someone who has long work hours and is looking for a solid, reliable apartment building. Customer Service is great here. The doorguys have remembered my name since Day 1. The maintenance staff received a work order from me one night and less than 12 hours later they responded while I was at work and had the problem fixed before I got home. Location is the place to be. A full grocery store is right on the corner of the block for fresh produce and food. Bars and restaurants leading all the way down to broadway. And for exercise, if the pool and full size gym aren't enough, you have the hudson river right at the end of the block to go for a run along the hudson and west side highway. It's the full package. Usually things like this are too good to be true but I have yet to find a problem here. The move-in process is so easy, which is a big thing for me. Since I didn't have big items, I was able to use the elevator from the parking garage below and move-in at my own pace without worrying about things staying out on the street while I take them up, or my car being towed. For larger items, you just schedule the use of their freight elevator which takes you right up to your floor from the street level. Easiest move I've ever had in NYC and out. For parking, you can park on the street on 43rd or use the parking garage at the bottom of the building for an added fee. Thank you Silver Towers! I recently moved into the building and it has already exceeded my expectations. There are so many reasons why this place is fabulous, and it all starts with the management staff. I have lived in first 610 then 620 at Silver Towers since 2013. I've always loved the location despite how far west it is as I don't mind taking cabs and I walk a lot. The markets downstairs, the AKC day care for my dog is great, dry cleaners, garage, (though that price keeps climbing and the new manager of the garage is a total asshole), and immediate proximity to the west side highway are great for me. Used to love all these guys who work here! Still have great engineers as far as I can tell. No bugs or critters up this high! So easy to live here. But I don't live here all the time , live on west coast and here. Started to worry about the succession of fires in different Silverstein buildings and the one meeting I went to about the fire in 620 where the smoke rose to the penthouse floor ? Worrisome. Our fire chief had no answer to my question about what happens when you've taped off all areas where smoke can come in, put the towel under the door, and it's still coming in? He literally said, " I don't know I've never been in that situation before. " Silence in appalled room. Fire Chief of Manhattan. It had been an electrical fire from basement. Smoke went up open elevator shafts traveled up stairways something to do with air temp shouldn't have happened blah blah blah. They've been working on this bldg ever since. Redoing all electric. Put in generator if we lose electricity. Put in some sort of lighting on stairs. Can reach us now by text or phone. They dodged a bullet.could have had more deaths in this building. Glad I missed that. Not one person that lived on my floor then still lives here. I'm the only only still here. They clear two floors above wherever the fire so you're supposed to wait for them to come and get you should it be necessary. Otherwise stay put. But this was before lights in stairwells and any kind of notification system and no one knew where the fire was because the smoke traveled all the way up. People had already died in another of their buildings trying to get out in similar circumstances. At 620 heard there were people wandering around their smokey floors not knowing what to do. People couldn't go back upstairs later in the dark building to sleep had to get hotels or climb up fifty flights in the dark to dark apartments to put kids to bed for school the next day. Glad to see the building belatedly putting in more safety measures since. But why all the turnover of employees? My beloved favorite doormen and desk people disappearing every time I come back in town. Even Caroline left. Sorry , don't buy story that they're leaving in their later years for " better career opportunities." When you're older you don't get better career opportunities. At one point I heard they needed more " security type" people? Where's Mike? Thank God there's still Dino. Who ARE THESE PEOPLE? Can't they find anyone with a personality? And I don't care how many " updates you give us about yet another noisy construction project going up in hearing distance this one is their fault. And they're allowed to wake us up loudly on Saturday mornings? And I don't have an office job so I'm paying a fortune in rent to come here and hear horrendous banging all day long? Caroline swore this would be a low building they're doing down there , wouldn't be a problem, already had to move once away from the noise of the construction across 42nd street, now this. No wonder she left. She must be tired of having to be a Silverstein apologist for fires, literal and otherwise. read more

My experience at the Silver Towers was by far the worst leasing experience I have ever had. While the property presents an attractive value proposition given the amenities, modern finishes, and price, the leasing team is notably unprofessional and highly unscrupulous. During my first visit to the building, I waited for over 45 min as the leasing office had apparently double-booked my slot and did not have any agents available. I viewed a few units with Tony and was still interested, as I felt the building was a good value given the quality of the unit / amenities and the price. I applied to the building, working with Richard, who took over for Tony as he went on vacation. Richard is unpleasant to work with not only because he is snappy, but also because he is incompetent -- we had to go through four versions of the lease because he kept sending me versions with important numbers such as the rent and lease term that were incorrect (I pointed out these errors to him). I was finally approved for a lease and wired my first month's rent and security deposit and was confirmed for a move-in date. Two days prior to my scheduled move-in, I was contacted by Tony in the leasing office, notifying me that they had canceled my lease as I had inquired about a potential lease break (which is permitted under their policies). I immediately reached out to the VP - Leasing (Ian) as a lease is a legally binding document that cannot be broken unless one or both parties violate clauses (which they agreed that I had not), and was told by Ian rather rudely that they had not counter-signed the lease so it wasn't legally binding. Highly unscrupulous behavior but true. I've obviously incurred significant costs as a result of needing to cancel my move-in and search for a new apartment and I have yet to receive my first month's rent and security deposit refund. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and hope this will all get resolved soon. It's an attractive building, but the leasing office staff needs upgrading. Beware. --- Paul: I'm posting my prior response to your comment as an addendum here since you or someone from your team had submitted a request to Yelp to have my review removed. Luckily, I was able to get my review added back. Thanks Yelp. (Ironically, Silver Towers has received so many poor reviews that my incremental 1 star rating did not move the average any lower. Yikes.) I appreciate the prompt reply especially in light of how difficult it was to get in touch with anyone on the Silver Towers management and leasing teams after signing my lease. (I hope this is a sign that your team is turning a new leaf, but I suspect it's only because this is a public forum.) Thank you also for refunding my first month's rent and security deposit after almost a month of me contacting your office to get that taken care of. As you know, your leasing team refused to honor my signed lease two days prior to my move-in date so my out-of-pocket expenses were much higher (rescheduled airfare, movers, furniture delivery, etc.). I've already spoken with your residential leasing team extensively about why I'm upset at your team's unscrupulous behavior. You already have my direct email and phone number so please get in touch with me directly if you truly want to fix the situation beyond a generic Yelp reply. I'm a young Entrepreneur with a business headquartered in Westchester. I was looking at this building for the easy access to the West Side Highway. I went in for a meeting to see the apartment, and had a horrible experience with renting agent. Agent almost seemed bothered showing me around. Very terse with my basic questions. I understand the New York City is currently a land lord's market, and that there are probably hundreds of people per day looking for a place, but an agent represents the entire staff at a facility. If Silver Towers doesn't train their Sales staff in customer service, I can't even imagine what occurs for the rest of the team there. Additionally, amenities including access to the roof deck are an additional $700/month. I actually paid the $75 application fee, but walked away with a really bad taste from the experience. I'll be taking my money elsewhere. read more
