This is an awesome breakfast spot that has a variety of classic dishes and great coffee. I came here on a Saturday morning around 10am and the wait for two people was about 20 minutes. The servers are great and really make you feel welcomed. The inside of the restaurant looks renovated and has an open layout. I ordered the Spider Monkey Latte and it was delicious. Once you finish your latte, you can still get some coffee poured into your mug. I ate the Silverback French Toast which is made with two cinnamon rolls. It was full of flavor. I loved it and decided to make it a combo. I got bacon and eggs on the side to balance out the sweetness with savory. Overall, I loved the service, food, and coffee here! Favorite breakfast spot in Vista! Hidden on side street at the back of an older shopping strip. Service is always friendly and very attentive to coffee or drink refills! Portions are HUGE and delicious! I usually will split an entree with my son and we still go home with leftovers! Cinnamon roll French toast is a favorite as well as eggs benedict. Fruit is fresh and strawberries are extremely delicious especially during strawberry season as they get them fresh from local farms. I brought my 91 year old mother in law here for the first time and had a great breakfast. She had the traditional eggs Benedict and loved it! Typically she will take half her meal home and enjoy it later. Today, there was barely anything to take home. I had the burger and it was cooked just right and was delicious with some crispy fries. Cesar was our server and was so friendly and accommodating. Very impressed. Love the decor and the fact that you aren't too close to the next table and can talk easily. Great little hidden gem in Vista. Don't sleep on it! Try not to drink your caffeine until you come here. The Barista is magic and there are so many great coffee drinks to delight in. Sat at the breakfast bar instead of waiting for a table. Waitress was nice and informative. Barista was nice and entertaining to watch as we waited for our meal. Fresh orange juice was so fresh and sweet. Went for a melt with Ortega chilis. Was good and filling. Opted for the traditional fresh fruit. Managers brother was so kind and working hard. Love the family vibe between staff. Although there are some discouraging and disappointing reviews about staff, I did not witness it or encounter anything negative in that regard. Only bummer was the 10-12 top of business people holding their meeting behind us . I always believe if you want to treat your staff to meal, do it and leave the business at your business. Hard not to overhear all the business plans, questions, plans, etc. That early in the am, you just want to drink your coffee, wake up, eat, connect with your loved one and soak into the morning. I've been coming here since they all worked at another local cafe, Silverback has the best food, consistency, and service in the business, hands down. There's always at least a 30 minute to 1 hour wait time, but it's well worth it. You can grab a coffee, espresso, and the best cinnamon rolls you're ever going to have from their coffee station while you wait for a table. The parking lot is always very close to full, however, the surrounding businesses don't seem to mind us parking in their spots. My favorite thing on the menu is the hash slingin benedict, with a side of home fries, and extra hollandaise sauce -- It really doesn't get much better than this! What really surprises me is the quality and the consistency. They always get it right, they always nail it, and it's always the same as before, never deviates. My husband always gets a waffle and this time I got the corned beef hash and eggs with sourdough toast. My hash was so yummy & homemade too! The service is always spot on! We did have to wait about 45 minutes to be seated. Worth the wait! I even had leftover hash due to the large portions. It was just as delicious the next day. Came a second time and bright my teenage son (he's picky) We showed up around 12 and were seated right away. I decided to try something different this time around and our waiter was super helpful as I was completely undecided. Son ordered hot chocolate, & fried chicken and waffles. I ordered chili omelet, potatoes and a side pancake and also the baboon coffee iced. Coffee wasn't great, feel like the coffee and I just can't get it right here lol but the food and atmosphere is great. My food was very good. My son liked his food and said he would definitely return. Said the chicken wasn't dry at all and had good flavor. The chili has beans and chunks of tomato, good flavor. This was a new experience for me. We had to wait a little bit in the sun, which wasn't fun. But we got seated and enjoyed speaking with our server who was very very efficient. I told her I was diabetic and needed to eat something really quick and she brought over a mini vegetable cup for me to get started with along with some cottage cheese. We ordered the fried chicken and waffle and my husband ordered an omelette. We enjoyed not only the food, but the service was excellent.
