I'd tried my gal at two other shops--including the dealership where I bought her--but only Silverdale Autoworks took the extra time, patience, and diligence to actually discover the issue instead of just overlooking my concerns. My husband and I had just bought a 2001 Toyota Tundra. Come to find out the owner before us messed up the drum brakes real bad. We were searching online for a reputable auto place and had gotten a crazy quote from the dealership. We stumbled upon Silverdale Autoworks. We called and asked for a quote to rebuild the brakes and wheel cylinder; they gave us a quote over the phone. We booked an appointment, and they fixed it super-fast. Ivan, our service guy was awesome. They kept us updated on our truck and even offered to pick us up to grab the truck when it was finished. My husband said the inside was super nice too. First time using Silverdale Autoworks. I did a search on YELP for vehicle service and discovered this business. I enjoyed reading the recent reviews, and decided to have my Jeep serviced here. I primarily service my Jeep at the Dealership, but due to a recent experience I decided to search elsewhere for vehicle service. I phoned the business and was helped by a staff member who provided a quote over the phone for the service I was interested in having performed. An appointment was made the following day. The business is very easy to find, near the waterfront area. This business is following COVID-19 guidelines, one person in the lobby at a time. TIP- If you are a first time customer, there is a $25.00 off coupon on YELP if you check in. I took advantage of this coupon. I met with a friendly service advisor, who further explained the service I was having performed. There is a waiting room, but it is not available currently due to COVID Guidlines. There is a park bench just outside the front door, you are able to wait at. Serviced was completed in a timely manner, very happy with this business. I believe, I will start bringing my vehicle here for servicing instead of the dealership. Pricing is very competitive! When my vehicle was finished, check out was very easy. I noticed the service advisor place my key in a box on the desk. When I inquired why my key was in the box, he explained the box is a UV Sanitizer box. A great extra step to ensure germs, viruses are not spread to others. Service advisor walked me to my vehicle, and personally wiped down the drivers area with a sanitizer wipes. took my wifes car to this place and they told me it would be 700 to replace the hood release cable. i called the next day they said it was going to be 1400 because the hood release was toed into the trunk lid release. its not.....i did my research. they treated my veteren grandfather like an atm and charged us 200 for an hr ouf "work". they also backed into something leaving damage to the car. unbeknownst to them i have been working on cars for decades but recent health issies have orevwnted most me from most maintenance tasks. they mever said anything about it so i reported them to the BBB. the problem is the realtor accrpss the street owns it so it would have been futile to reach out to them, which i tried to do..... DO NOT go here they look like a noce shop but they will gouge, obercharge and add extra charges before they even fox the main issue. this place is a dump read more

Silverdale Auto works had a mechanic drive with me ~ he actually listened. They fixed the issue the same day with in hours. Even walked me to me car after checking out. I took my Toyota Prius in for an oil change and to troubleshoot some problems. The mechanic did not put the oil cap back on the engine. If that isn't careless, what is? When I later discovered it, I had to go back to retrieve the cap. It makes me wonder how much they pay attention to other problems. read more

We had an oil leak on our Mini Cooper. Rather than driving to Fife to a dealer and pay thousands we gave them a try. They completed the needed repairs. Upon completion there was a ticking noise that wasn't there before the repair. We contacted the owner. He was quick to respond and agreed that it should have been addressed. He agreed to pay 75% of the repair to eliminate the ticking, which was more than I expected. He quickly fit the repair in their schedule within the week. It only took about 4 hours, so we had our only car back quickly. I appreciate his speedy resolution and repair. I recommend them to you for all your auto repairs. So a little story before I go into the review. The other day I forgot to turn the headlights off and next thing you know, the car battery dies. I initially called my insurance company and got a jumpstart, but the next day I the car started a little slower, so I decided to find auto shops around the area that can do a quick car battery replacement. I saw Silverdale Autoworks on Yelp and it had good reviews so I decided to give them a shot. John was the representative that answered my call and gave me a heads up that they carried the batter for my car model. I took it in short noticed and after about an hour they finished it just like that. It was only about $266 overall and it was a pretty good deal. While waiting at their waiting area, I couldn't help but notice the complimentary waters in the fridge and how modern the set up was. It very relaxing and John told me that they just did a re-model about 6 months ago. Overall I must say the guys here did a very great job not only on the car battery replacement, but also with re-modeling their whole shop. They even alerted me on my front brakes running close to wearing out so that was very kind of them to alert me on. They even gave me a price on that for future reference, as well as a quote. I have had my 2005 BMW X3 in their shop twice since last summer. Both times for extended periods of time due the need for extensive repairs. Both occasions involved serious, rather expensive repairs, eg. head gasket, two new catalytic converters, ECU evaluation, etc., etc., etc. I bit the bullet, spent the money to have the vehicle basically upgraded. What I really like is that throughout the long process Mr. John Dombrock, my service rep was very patient, explained things well and thoroughly. The decision as to authorizing the repairs was always left up to me (no pressure). I still have an ongoing issue of an occasional period of a long crank before start which they were unable to determine the cause. John has assured me that he will continue to research online forums and other sources in an attempt to determine the cause. Very clean facility. John is very professional. I was concerned about the COVID-19 and separation. I used the key drop when I dropped off my truck. When I walked into the lobby to pickup my truck, I noticed they had rearranged the area to separate the customer from others! When I picked up my truck they walked me out to the truck, wiped down the door handle and steering wheel. Oh, they also did a great job with my truck. I have mixed reviews about this place. We used them a couple of years ago for two different problems and for one problem, they were quite helpful and courteous. However, the last problem we had with our car was diagnosed completely wrong here and the value of the repair was therefore completely overestimated. Although they advised that this repair be done, I then went to the local Autozone and was referred to another mechanic down the street for a 2nd opinion (which was AWESOME but I can't remember his name!). Well...turns out, he actually put my car up on a platform and showed me exactly what was going on with my brakes and explained to me why and how the problem existed. I didn't have to just take his word for it, but he insisted that I actually see for myself what was going on. Now this is what I look for in a mechanic! Not only did Silverdale Autoworks not offer to do this, they completely misdiagnosed the problem which would have cost a LOT more to fix. This is why I have mixed reviews about this place. read more

This is by far, the worst shop I've ever been to. I took my car in a few weeks ago (despite hearing negative things ahead of time) due to needing work done the same day. They were the only shop in the area with an immediate opening. Now I know why. First off, the tech at the counter (Art) never called me back within the time frame he said. On multiple occasions, after waiting in excess of an hour past the promised time, I had to call myself and request an update. When it came to the repair itself, the tech ignored my input when I told him something in particular was previously done. His response was "that's where our book tells us to start, so we need to do that". Once that portion of the "repair" was completed, low and behold, it didn't fix the issue. When I asked for the printout showing that the work they claimed was performed was actually done, they claimed they were unable to provide it. So they move onto the next step, I was told a particular part would need to be replaced. While I take responsibility for not asking the cost of the part ahead of time, I also never dreamed it would cost nearly $400. When I brought up to the tech that the same exact part was $75 right down the road at O'Reilly, he said "yeah, if you want shitty Jap parts". I wasn't aware that being racially condescending towards the craftsmanship of another culture was part of this guy's job description. Even after the second, more expensive step, the issue still wasn't fixed. I couldn't help but feel they were basically playing a game of pin the tail on the donkey and hoping they eventually fixed the issue. Either that, or they were deliberately charging for things they knew would not fix the problem. Not entire sure which was the case, but I have my suspicions. So, at the end of the day and $850 later, my car still has the same exact problem, but I have an offer from them for yet another $400, they would be more than happy to perform the next "fix". Needless to say, I won't be taking them up on their generous offer, nor will I ever be returning to this shop. I'd rather wait a few days and take my car to a shop that actually provides results, has reasonable rates, and is able to provide proof of work performed. Save yourself your time and money and avoid this place like the plague. read more

We arrived in Silverdale on a Friday around 5 PM after a long trip during which we started hearing a chirping sound in the engine compartment. No auto repair shops were open on the weekend and we needed to leave by 1 PM on Monday (hopefully) for an appointment 3 hours away. We just went to their shop on Monday at 8 AM and they agreed to at least diagnose the problem. They called us in less than 2 hours with a complete description of what needed to be repaired and said they could do it and would try to finish so we could make our appointment. They did a great job and the car was ready at 12:15 PM. We really appreciate their willingness to take a walk-in customer and help us out and to do a good job. read more

If you're looking for a reputable and reliable auto repair shop (yes, they DO exist!), this place is the way to go. While my husband and I were waiting for our vehicle, we overheard other customers' situations. One that stood out to me was a customer who needed some parts replaced, and Silverdale Autoworks charged her $200 less than the quote she received from another auto repair shop (no special deals or anything). The employees were very courteous and helpful. They took the time to explain exactly what the issues were- in layman's terms- and were happy to answer questions. I've never received such excellent service from an auto repair shop. My husband & I have only been going to Silverdale AutoWorks for a year but they've done phenomenal work each time. We have an A4 Audi & needed to find mechanics that knew how to works on European cars. My husband is also in the military so is gone most of the time I take the car in. Also keep in mind, I don't know the details of what isn't working in the car. When I take it in, they explain everything to me & if I need to leave the car there over night, they've given me their loaner car for a few days util they could return me mine. Most recently, I stupidly took my car to Jiffy Lube because it was closest to where I currently was. My check engine oil light came on & I realized the hood of the car was jammed. Jiffy lube told me after 30 min of waiting, that my car was FUBR (fucked up beyond repair) & that I would have to take it to a dealership where they'd tear it up & it would cost a lot of money. I immediately drove over to AutoWorks where they weren't familiar with the issue but opened the hood in less than 10 min, no charge. This place is a blessing to us & always recommend it to our friends :) read more

I do feel that I overpaid for the service performed. They were not willing to give me any amount of a cash discount and for having to spend $8300, I felt that was insensitive and cheap. My car was not washed or vacuumed when I picked it up, which should be a standard, which it is at most mechanic shops. And my "service needed" light was not reset and still illuminates, which should be elementary when your car goes in for such a big service. Mike was very nice though. read more

Warning. This shop is unethical and dishonest. I took my BMW in for an oil leak diagnosis, the repair estimate was over $7,000. I decided to get a second opinion and learned that they never even cleaned the engine, didn't add leak dye and none of the recommended repairs were necessary. To top it off, the second mechanic noted that they did not reinstall 4 covers when they didn't get the job. It took two trips to get all my parts back from them and they would not refund one penny when their dishonest estimate was proven to be complete fraud. Had the valves on my 2012 VW Touareg cleaned with a shop on Bainbridge Island, a day later my car died in Silverdale leaving my wife nearly stranded. Had her bring it to Silverdale Autoworks, they took it in, fixed the problem, and told me what was done wrong. Fast forward about a year later, the same car had cold start idling issues, went to a very popular shop in Poulsbo, let them have it for four days, they couldn't fix the problem. Silverdale Autoworks may indeed do great work but in my opinion, they over diagnose problems to increase revenue. My first experience was an oil change at 40,000 miles on the car. The oil change was fine but the owner/service manager recommended over $2000 in needed repairs which seemed not likely due to the low mileage and the fact that the dealer had done all of the inspections and oil changes up to this one. He said I needed a brake job within a couple of thousand miles, 30,000 miles later I just replaced the brakes and they still had 3mm pads left. The second experience, engine light came on and the car went into limp mode. Quote for over $2,300 just to make it drivable with another $1000 additional repairs need soon. Took the car to Firestone and $700 later car runs like new. If you don't care about money and want your car in the best absolute shape Silverdale Autoworks may be for you but if you like me don't want to throw money away you might want to find another option. read more
