My husband and I have been wanting to try silverside Deli for a while now and finally did & it did not disappoint! We couldn't decide on what we wanted to have so we got 2 each and took the other half's to our friends to try. I decided on the fried chicken Caesar and the lemon pepper chicken (April special). The chicken Caesar sandwich was DELICIOUS if you're a fan of Caesar at all, try this! My husband decided on the Spicy chicken and the fajita, he liked both but definitely favored the spicy chicken we even took one home for our son. My husband and I were in the area and looked up sandwich places. We are sooo excited to have found this place because the menu was exciting and the food met expectations!! There were multiple things on the menu I'd like to try. I ended up going with the fried chicken Caesar wrap. There was a really good crunch on the chicken and the flavors went together really well. My husband got the chicken parmigiano and loved it. Both were really big and gave us both two meals. When I go back, I want to get a sandwich to split and try a side. They all look good, but the Brussels sprouts are what really caught my eye. They have a Diet Coke soda fountain and the brew was really good. The inside is cute with a decent amount of tables. I got the chicken salad wrap. It was aaaaaamzing. Love the roasted grapes. The sweet and savory smokiness was so delicious. This is a chicken salad like no other. His sandwiches are works of art to be honest! This is place is really a staple. 95% of the time I come here it is on point! I'll say when it's not this owner takes so much accountability and pride in his work he wants to provide u a great experience. I also got the lavender coconut latte. It was my first time trying their coffee. The espresso is brewed perfectly. The amount of espresso to milk is on point. The cold foam was just the right consistency and flavor. The only thing I would change is I couldn't really taste the lavender that being said I have diminished taste from Covid still so I need quite a punch to pick it up so I'm sure the latte is amazing for the average Joe. The chicken was crispy, and it was saucy without being overloaded. Still messy and it is a BIG boy! Korean fried chicken- great blend of flavors that go together perfectly. The Italian Cold Cut was so delicious! They put oil and vinegar along with meats, lettuce and tomato. The flavors paired really well together and the bread was soft but crunchy on the outside. The best sandwich I've had in a while! The fries and cooked perfectly and are a little thicker cut which I loved! They have a lot of hot sauces to choose from if you eat inside. Pretty spicy, I do like spicy but it ended up being a bit hotter than I bargained for. (Chicken parmasan and carnitas.) I still enjoyed it though! I feel like the sandwiches were a bit higher priced than other local sandwich shops, especially for what is received. We asked an employee for an extra sauce (cilantro aioli for the carnitas) she said sure, but when she gave it to us she replied by saying "I'll give you this one but if you want any more sauce we'll have to pay for it because it's made in-house, and it's delicious and very expensive to make." I know most places, especially these days charge for extra sauces. However, I thought there were better ways to handle it than she did. It just sounded a bit.... weird.... for her to tell a customer how expensive the sauce is to make. (It was probably 1 ounce...) Anyway, we may come back. Worth it! Food - Every sandwich I've had here has been really good. They've got a way of combining and balancing flavors so well, it's just the savory meal you're craving to power you through your trek through Sugar House, or sustain you through a day of running around town. The portion sizes are just right, I've been known to finish my whole sandwich from Silverside more than once, and they're a filling hot meal without completely weighing you down. They've got some alcohol options, some beers, limited wines. Enough to get the job done without being a craft brewery. Service - Good, nice, friendly counter service. You can walk up and get your own sauces, napkins, soft drinks, etc. No frills but really kind. Ambiance - This place is pretty small, little place, little tables, but I've always found a seat when I go. It's nice, very Sugar House vibey, you'll feel cooler once you've been there. Improvements? I can be a little on the bougie side sometimes, but a canned sparkling wine or something would really do it for me. I will say that the place was clean, the staff was Friday, the food came out quickly and hot. The brussel sprouts were really good, I would definitely get them again. But the sandwiches were... Just not great. My wife got the Korean fried chicken one and I got the pork tonkatsu sandwich. The description sounded great, but the execution was not. I had the the Orange Chicken Sandwich, which was an August special, and I'm not kidding when I say it's one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The two fried chicken strips were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and they were coated in a perfect orange sauce. The orange aioli and sliced oranges in the sandwich were fantastic. I had to go twice to get it. My only gripe is that that sandwich isn't there any more but it does make me excited to try all the future monthly sandwiches.
