Silverstate Locksmith set me up with a new key fob for my car after my old one broke many months ago. Scheduling the work was easy thanks to how quickly they responded via Yelp. Once they began working, they discovered my ignition had unexpected wear and tear, so they had to call in help from their Automotive Locksmith to dig deeper into the ignition. The work ended up taking longer than expected, but a few hours later my new key fobs were rocking and rolling. Their team even called me afterwards to make sure everything was good to go. That extra communication is a nice touch. Later that evening, I drove my car and noticed a new grinding sound when turning the steering wheel. It's a very slight plastic bumping/grinding sound when the steering wheel is turned at a certain angle. It's a minor cosmetic issue that doesn't affect the function of my car, but it was clearly related to the ignition work. As soon as I noticed that noise, I called and left a message with the Automotive Locksmith and asked him to please call me back. That was weeks ago and I have not heard from him. The noise is very minor and I have learned to live with it; at this point I'm not sure it's worth the hassle of scheduling follow-up work. But I am disappointed the Locksmith didn't call me back. Because the rest of the Silverstate team was responsive and helpful and I think my situation is unique, I still recommend Silverstate for routine needs like lockouts. But I wish the Locksmith didn't leave me hanging. read more

Having keys made should not be an odyssey. But spoiler: It absolutely was. After going to Lowes and Home Depot to have keys made for my business and none of them fitting in the lock, I opted to go to a Brick-and-Mortar on my lunch break to get some keys made. What a fiasco. The first place had a voice mail that just said, "Leave a message!" The second didn't have an actual location in the plaza that it said and when I called for assistance to locate the establishment, no one picked up the phone. The third... whoo, boy. Valley View and Trop area - just.. no. Sketchy, was lied to on the phone. But after money and time wasted, I hopped on Yelp and having seen all the reviews on here I reached out via the Yelp app and received a response from the owner Ezra. He asked for photos and sent him a few. He explained why the key machines at Lowes and Home Depot were struggling and offered for someone to come to me the next day. He sent a worker who did a great job. He first made a key to test to ensure that they could even do the job and then finding success made copies for me. He tested them all first, and then had me test them as well. There was a fee for them to come out but the extremely reasonable cost per key offset that and I was satisfied. I was out of town, and the fear was that one of the cats was locked in a bedroom in my apartment, no access to food or water. Turned out not to be the case, but anyway, we couldn't make it back fast enough to take care of this worry, too far. So, from another state, we called SilverState locksmith, and Ezra took the call. We also got a hold of a family member. After giving Ezra identity info, he had me take a picture of the key, and then he proceeded to copy the key, and gave it to the family member to open the apartment to check on the cats.
