Stopped in on a rainy morning - my friend and I were the only customers for a while and we recieved the BEST service from Phil - - he gave us great tastings and was extremely wine-knowlegeable as well as personable. Also, their shop is great - - quite a few hard to resist items. Oh yeah, the wine........yes it was very good. Get the higher-end tasting - their good Cabs are very very nice and you get to compare them along with the signature Landslide Cab. All great stuff. Simi winery is my absolute favorite winery in Sonoma. We had an amazing experience with our guy, Phil, well knowledgeable with the wines and knew how to make the best experience for everyone in our group. Phil explained how each wine worked with certain meals or gatherings. We went on a Sunday so it wasn't that crowded. I would highly recommend Simi and enjoy the afternoon ! read more

This was our first stop on our barrel tasting weekend and it was certainly the worst, aside from Mauritson who also did not taste directly out of barrels. This wine was some of the worst we tasted out of fake little wine barrels. The Petite Syrah was not even ready to drink and the cab was not memorable in any way. My friend Kevin and I had the same feeling, like they didn't want me there, I thought Simi made great whites so why are they serving us crappy reds? This was my first ever visit here and I am up in Healdsburg quite often, so I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Showed up there early on a Monday afternoon and had a tasting. Hostess was knowledgable and friendly.

My wife and I have been Simi club members for at least 5 years, so when we had a chance to stop by the winery and have a taste(being from Houston), we were looking forward to the opportunity. The wine, as always, is very tasty, the estate is breathtaking but the level of professionalism demonstrated by the two larger fellows conducting the tastings was severely lacking. I found them to be nothing short of obnoxious. They clearly wanted the experience to be about them and not the wine. It seemed as though they're a part of the family and didn't have to care about how the business is represented. We're cancelling our membership with Simi. We did spend some time at Saduri, loved the excitement, knowledge and professionalism. We're now members with them... and a few others. read more

Our first stop was with our Terrific Tour, The Lady that showed us the winery was very pleasant, she answered all of our questions without being bothered. the scenery was beautiful! Love the rose section and the history behind it. During the wine tasting we were not rushed, I purchased the special select Late Harvest Riesling. i just returned from 5 days in the wine country with out-of-town friends, and i think the highlight was going to Simi for a tasting. my friend is in the wine business, so we were lucky enought to have a tasting with their senior wine educator, Jim Ferguson, who was amazing and knows a lot about wine, and food parings. we sat there sipping and taking in the beautiful surroundings while Jim told us about each wine as well as the history of Simi. Simi is the oldest winery in the region, and the history is really interesting and you could feel it all around you. we also got a tour of the property and barrel rooms, Landslide Cab in hand. supposedly there are ghosts that pleasantly haunt the barrel rooms - didn't see any while i was there, but definitely felt their presence! i would have to say that their Landslide Cab is one of the best out there right now - it's at limited release so i think you can only get at the winery, through their wine club and at select restaurants, so it's worth a trip to the tasting room. and their 04 Russian River Reserve chard is amazing, smooth w/ yummy hints of caramel, my favorite! and their Sauvingnon Blanc was so good, my friend bought a case for her wedding in Boston - think she paid more for the shipping b/c the wine is very reasonably priced! i'm more of a red wine drinker but i was really pleased with all their whites, which says a lot for me. if you're into petit syrah, you'll also be pleased with their current release. I'm no wine snob (PBR is my fav beer) so for those that know their wine, they probably don't want to take my review seriously. but notwithstanding my disclaimer, we had a great time here. it's a homey feeling, the staff was really nice to us and we got free coupons from the nice people at clos du bois (see my other review there) so our five tastings or so (it got a little blurry there...) were all free. i loved their pinot gris, so crisp and refreshing. AND they make some yummy truffle oil and flavored olive oils. i got this amazing chardonnay garlic olive oil to go along with my pinot gris. so delicious with just bread - that's what i had for dinner that night. read more

Amazing staff, came here with my 93 year old grandfather who is in a wheelchair and they were incredible at making him feel right at home. Even had a "tasting table" that folded down for him to use from the bar. They were cool with us brining in our own food too read more

My fiance and I booked the Cheese, Jelly & Wine Pairing online and it was FANTASTIC! The pairings are created by a michelin star chef and they were amazing! Paul conducted the tasting and he was very knowledgeable about the wine, cheese and jelly. He didn't intrude on our time, but definitely didn't leave us in the dark. We missed the tour so he gave us a short tour of the winery and we were so impressed by his presentation. He knows all the history! Highly recommended!!!! read more

The winery is right outside of the downtown area of Healdsburg. They have a nice little shop in the tasting room with local items. The wines were delicious and everyone working there was really nice. They are holding a lobster boil with zydeco music in the fall. We'll be back for that! The facility is very relaxing with large trees everywhere. read more

I gotta say the 3 stars were only for there white cuvee that I thought was great but also the only one I liked. Just recently went there for there barrel tasting weekend and like others mentioned in other comments they made you feel like they didnt even want you there. I thought it might of been just us because we looked a bit young but not even close to drunk. It was an interesting wine room and I actually enjoyed there tator tots. The view and everything else was very nice but the people doing the wine tasting were not nice at all. One of the ladies even sounded a bit drunk. I would still go back but just for there white cuvee not there service. read more

What a great and rich history this winery has. Taken on by an 18 yo girl who also married young but smartly, she was a pioneer of the "sustained" practices known today. I enjoyed the tour by our guide around the grounds and the winery is small enough to take in the casual stroll without tiring. Their shop is nice as well and overall a personable experience. I bit of a drive to get there from most, it is a great one to visit and start of your history lesson before going to others. Our guide was the most informative of them all. read more

The wedding was last weekend, and it was PERFECT. Seriously, the event coordinator and the event staff were amazing, made sure everything was on schedule, made the place beautiful, and were so supportive! Not to mention, the grounds are BEAUTIFUL. I have to say that Simi has epic wines. They have like 20 different wines on the menu definitely something for everyone. My favorites and the Chardonnays and the Cabernets. I found all of the pourers to be very positive accommodating and super knowledgeable about the wines. I took home a split case of chard and cab to serve at a large family gathering that night and it was a hit. Oddly enough I did not have a headache in the morning and neither did my boyfriend. I will be buying more of this Simi wine in the future. I would have had a 5 star experience in the tasting room but there was a bachelorette party in there and one of the girls was exceptionally loud and obnoxious most of the time me and my boyfriend were there. read more

I set up a tasting and tour for some of my friends since I was given some 2 for 1 passes. It was a Friday morning and very crowded! The tour was lovely. They took us all over the property and we had some major photo opportunities. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had some great stories to tell. The tour was followed by a nice sit down tasting of their current releases. I really didn't care for many of them. I was more interested in paying extra to try some of their reserves such as the Landslide. Being only 5'2" in a sea of wine-starved fanatics, I got nowhere near the tasting bar and when I finally did, I was pretty much ignored. So there went that! Anyway, I'll visit them again some day and hopefully my tasting room experience won't go by the wayside! read more

Here for the barrel tasting... an AMAZING Petite Syrah in the barrel [why can't I buy the whole barrel now?] to get in the fall. Sav Blanc was still excellent and several of the other general releases are quite nice. Staff was very friendly, I just wish the reserve tasting was less than $15 but I can understand them not wanting to burn through all of those wines on tastings. read more

Simi wins again! We came back to stock up on our cab, and Phil gave us the best recommendations on new varieties (Zinfandel, Landslide Cab, and my new all-time favorite Late Harvest Chardonnay). My fiance and I have been trekking upto Healdsburg for years now, and have never been disappointed by the wine. Service is good, scenery is decent, but lets face it, thats not the most important part of visiting a winery. The wine may be somewhat generic, though you cannot go wrong with any of the offerings. read more

Simi makes delicious wines. Their cozy tasting room is just off the center of the small town of Healdsburg, with quiet and shady grounds that create a relaxing environment. The staff in the tasting room have always treated me well as a customer, cheerfully explaining the craft of each wine. read more

We had an enjoyable weekend in Northern Sonoma County, which included visits to several wineries. Without doubt this was the best of the wineries that we encountered. Not only were all of the wines that I tasted very good, but Randy was a warm and informative host. This was the only winery from which I made a purchase this weekend. Awesome place! Great redwood groves that surround the tasting room, really nice staff that are inviting and great wines. You can't go wrong with their Pinot Noirs, Sauv Blanc, Zin, or Cabs. The others are good too; but for Sonoma County style wines in these grape varietals these are objectively pretty much on the money. read more

We went on the tour of the winery with a wine tasting at the end. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. We were able to see the crush, the fermentation tanks, the oak barrel storage areas of the winery. We heard all about the history of this longest continuously running winery in the Sonoma county area. All of the staff was very pleasant and helpful, and we had a wonderful guide for the tour and tasting - Ellen. I recommend this tour to anyone passing through this area. read more

So many times I've passed by Simi on the way to my hotel after a long day of wine tasting & have always wanted to go back, I'm so glad I finally made it there. I had such a lovely experience. It was a rainy day & I got to sit by a cozy fireplace. I thought all the wines were good, especially the Chardonnay & Pinot. I love dessert wines & theirs were some of the best I've ever tasted but what really made it such a wonderful experience was Phil. In an area with so many excellent wineries sometimes the person pouring for you makes all the difference. Phil was so friendly & personable I ended up joining their wine club because he left me with such a good impression of the place.
