Consistent fresh and delicious Vietnamese flavors! I have only ordered the same dish for take out a number of times, and each time it has been just as tasty and dependable as the last. They're always spot-on when it comes to giving an estimate for pickup. Overall a super easy and consistent spot. My go-to is the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl. The chicken is always super flavorful and their portions are generous! The only reason I didn't go with 5 stars is because I've had the same dish at other spots for a comparable price that were slightly better in my eyes. Those spots aren't close enough to me anymore though so this fits the bill as my current local go-to and I keep happily going back. read more

Stopped for lunch today, the Filet Mignon Pho was really good. Broth very tasty and served with all the veggies. Lots of flavor. Did not care for the cheese crab puffs they were tough not puffy. But try everything else! Recommend. read more

Ate lunch here about 1pm, not too crowded. Free parking in mall. Pho soup noodle was good, many various meats. Viet drip coffee was too sweet. Broth not as flavorful as other Viet restaurants which uses their own bone broth. Lemon chicken spicy with rice, tasty but too spicy for me. Beef short ribs with vermicelli was good, although ribs a little tough. Service was quick and attentive. Overall, 3.5 stars, so 4 stars. read more

Love this spot so much!! My husband and I come here regularly for pho and I especially love their vegetarian broth. It's so delicious, I think it's made from mushrooms. My husband was having his pho with filet mignon and tasted my vegetarian one and he admitted it was so much more flavorful. All their food has so much flavor, and for someone who is gluten and dairy free, I have so many options. Overall, the service and food here is amazing. Metal chair, wood benches make it uncomfortable. Had a party of 5 waitresses forgot to order one of our orders. Waited .20 weeks were half way thru our meal asked to have that meal off bill. Food came which by the way was for an 85 year old. Waitresses too if $4.20 cents instead of the whole meal. Bill came which included her tip that she automatically added $188 I asked is that all you can do for us she said ya. She was rude. Lost 5 customers from going there again. Sad part is it's ok for a one or two people restaurant. But another table brought in their barking dog. There's so many other places to go in that strip mall which we will go back to. read more

Picked up an order (sorry we ate all of it before taking pictures). During the quarantine, this place will make sure you are safe and happy. I picked up 2 orders of potstickers, large vegetables pho and large beef pho, all under $40. The food was amazing and has a lot of flavor to it (for the pho, the broth comes separately and you have to put everything together in a bowl at home). They separate the pens that you will use for signing and sanitizing them. Everyone had masks on inside the restaurant and you can't enter without mask yourself. They are taking these procedures very seriously and make the customer feels safe by them being clean and reliable. Make sure to call them directly to place an order as I didn't find them on doordash. If I could give six stars I would give six stars. The food and hospitality and ambience was very nice, makes you feel at home and the food is absolutely fantastic. It has a cool modern vibe to it with green plants have a lot of young people hang out. Coming to the food I have visited this place at least five times and every time the dishes were fantastic. Obviously their signature dishes is the PHO and so if you're hungry go for the regular sized PHO. I get the Children's portion of the pho, . Add vegetable and add chicken to it and then of course the hoisin sauce and hot sauce and then all the other paraphernalia and the PHI is absolutely fantastic. We also had the beef fried rice, and another time the chicken fried rice and then of course their appetisers which is a fresh rolls with pork and shrimp is absolutely magical. You have to visit this place if you go to Paloma, an absolute must visit!!!! read more

There's nothing that hits the spot quite like hot chicken pho on a wet rainy day! I came in craving the warm delicious food beacuse it was super cold outside. They deffinatly nailed the flavor! The portion sizes were deffinatly so healthy that we could share a large bowl of pho and appitizers for two and be completely satisfied. We ordered the spring rolls.. Two were pork and two were shrimp.it This was the perfect starter for any meal that you can order here. Our server was actually so laid back and helpful. There was deffinatly a ginuine vibe from this place that you don't find in a lot of different resturants. I know I'll deffinatly be back to eat here more often. Bottom line, I really love this place. In fact I drive 30 minutes to eat here, willingly, and I recommend Simmer to anyone who will listen to me. The vibe is mellow, the service is so friendly and what's not to like about the food?! The pho is great (warning: big portions!). I'm a big fan of the BBQ pork. But I think the winner for me is the spicy lemongrass chicken dish (buyer beware, it's spicy). The only issue I have with Simmer is there isn't one closer to San Francisco. read more

The restaurant has a nice feeling to it. The service was friendly, too. The food left us disappointed. It is so expensive for mediocre food. The pork was tasty, but the garlic noodles were just okay. The two together were $17. This is way too much. We ordered 2 vegetable phö, 1 with beef and 1 with chicken broth. They were so cheap on the vegetables. For something $1-2 less than a meat dish, we received 1 piece of broccoli, 1 piece of zucchini, 2 slices of carrot, and 5 or 6 thin mushroom pieces per bowl. Then several pieces of the hard part of a cabbage. The beef broth had a spice in it that made it a little sweet with an odd taste. Overall this experience was disappointing, especially with a $75 bill at the end of it. read more

Simmer is one of my favorite places. If it rains I get amazing pho if it's sunny I live the grilled pork vermicelli salad. My daughter and I tried this restaurant for the first time and were quite impressed with the food and service. Toby, who also manages the Simmer Claw Bar, served us and was friendly and attentive. He recommended I try the lemongrass tofu and it was beyond good. Large golden nuggets of crisp tofu in a bold, delicious sauce. My daughter had the filet mignon beef pho. The broth was light and flavorful and the large bowl had lots of rice noodles (which kept their texture) and thinly sliced beef. The Thai iced tea was overly sweet but Toby brought us extra half and half to mellow it out and it was perfect. Of the dozen Vietnamese restaurants we've tried in the Bay Area, this is near the top. read more

Oh, Simmer...I have to take my stars rating down. Last Saturday I came in with my parents at 5:15 and it was a joke. They had multiple tables open but since we needed a high chair we had to wait 30 minutes for a bigger table. Luckily our sever was very apologetic and his attentive service made up for that annoyance. At the end while my daughter was starting to get over it we asked for takeout boxes. He said he would bring them right over but then another server came over and was literally arguing with us about taking our food to the back to box it up. We told her he was already bringing us boxes and she just kept saying she didn't care she was taking our food back there because it's easier for her. It was pathetic and very rude. After her attitude and taking our food away from us despite him having the boxes on the table for us we all swore never again. We might get takeout in the future but it's gonna be a while. The spring rolls really weren't as tasty as I had remembered the the filet mignon pho was good but I've had better in Santa Rosa. Being fairly new to Petaluma (and during a pandemic) we are constantly looking for ways to support local businesses by ordering take out once a week, finding new small businesses to shop etc. Simmer came recommended by a few people and after reading Yelp reviews it seemed like a no-brainer. The real question for me was....what to order!? It was hard to choose. I ordered like I wasn't going to have an opportunity to go back. One of these, and this, let's add this, and ohh! I need this too! We will definitely go back. They were super friendly, quick, our order was correct (can't tell you how awful it is to get home and realize something isn't in the bag).
