God forbid if you have to go to an oral surgeon. I wish this fate on no one. But thankfully, if you have to go to one, there's people like Dr. Arcan that take ALL of the stress out of going through this process. I don't even know where to begin. I was just in awe from start to finish. First off, her office took us in at the last minute, at the end of the day. We had a bad infection going on, and we needed relief now. Well, my wife did, anyway. Then, how about that parking lot. Seriously, this is even a delight. Her office is in this very modern strip mall type property. It just has this aura of a Beverly Hills-type vibe. Then, if you dare, walk in to her office. You will be amazed. It's a treat to go in to a Dr's office and appreciate the obvious attention to the decor. Crate & Barrel would be proud. And what? A selection of current magazines? You mean I don't have to read "People" from 2-years ago? I know, I'm giddy, and I haven't even got to the Dr. Ok, then there's Dr. Arcan. I had this inclination to bow on my knees in her presence. Here's this woman, all of 5-feet tall, with enormous confidence and competence. It's awe inspiring. She is so professional and intelligent, you have to wonder if she's a prodigy or something. You look at someone with a DMD and an MD behind their name, and you expect them to have this pissed off attitude, or some ego that inferiorates you, but I found myself at ease and almost wishing I had another dental problem she could work on. Is that insane? After the procedure, that evening, the Dr., herself, called my house to see how my wife was doing. Her staff are friendly, and helpful. I loved everything about the experience ... especially that the Dr. wasn't such a prude about dishing out the meds. She actually gave us what we needed instead of trying to pass off some Extra Strength Tylenol at us. We're still enjoying them from time to time too . Whoa. I was referred to Dr. Arcan by my dentist to have a wisdom tooth pulled, and was blown away by the awesomeness of the entire staff. Just walking into the office was a breath of fresh air. The staff are tech-savvy, super nice, very professional, and down to earth (read: didn't treat me like I was the idiot patient who didn't take care of her teeth). After my initial consult, I had questions about my insurance and what was covered and what was, and the office has a person dedicated to the finance part of patient care, who explained everything to me in terms I could understand, again, without making me feel like an idiot patient. Not only did she explain everything to me, but she was willing to send my paperwork in to the insurance company to find out what they would cover before I went in for surgery, so I would know what I'd have to pay for before making any decisions about anesthesia. She didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need, she truly had my best interest (health & financial) in mind. Then the actual surgery. Everything was explained to me calmly and coolly, and everyone I came into contact with in the office put me at ease about my surgery. They double and triple checked the last time I'd eaten and what medications I was on before administering and anesthesia, let alone the procedure. Dr. Arcan and her staff were clean and sterile, and professional while maintaining a personable atmosphere. The post-op check up was quick, I was in and out in 5 minutes, with no complications. Everything is healing well, which tells me they did a great job of the surgery, and I couldn't be happier. I'd recommend Dr. Simone Arcan to anyone needing a wisdom tooth pulled because she not only does a great job, but surrounds herself with staff who really know how to put a personal touch on a profession that, frankly, scares the bejeezus out of a lot of people. read more

One word: AMAZING!!! It's so hard to find a skilled medical professional who truly cares and does a great job. I have some unique issues that make easy procedures much more complicated... and Dr. Arcan and her staff helped me in every way possible to have a procedure that was as painless as possible, for me. After my surgery... Dr. Arcan herself even called me from her home on the weekend to check up on me after my procedure. And, she also made sure that I got referrals to other specialists that are as helpful, professional and amazing as she is... and did an amazing job to make sure those specialists had the information necessary to help me get the care I need! Because of my unique issues... I also have severe medical anxiety (due to prior bad experiences with less skilled and less caring dentists and doctors). Dr. Arcan really made me feel like I can get in control of my health and have a better quality of life again! Love love love Dr. Arcan and her staff. This is my 3rd experience with her. The first was a wisdom tooth removal about 3 years ago-fabulous experience then. The second was an infection in my cheek a few months ago which was a unique and puzzling problem. She took photos and networked with my ENT (who she knew-how great was that-so blessed) to ensure the proper biopsies were performed. Lastly, I just had 2 two wisdom teeth removed yesterday. She was comprehensive, took biopsies of a chronic infection, and I was so very grateful for her thoroughness. She called me in the evening, after hours, to check on my status and ensured my previous ENT's biopsy results were forwarded to the new pathologist for comparison. I am in my 60's and to have wisdom teeth extractions at my age, coupled with these ancillary medical issues, is just unnerving. Dr. Arcan put me at ease, her staff showed tremendous empathy, and bottom line, peace of mind is priceless. I just love her compassion, positive attitude, and wit. I recently had to get a molar extracted due to a cracked/infected root and also underwent a bone graft for a future implant. I was referred to Dr. Arcan by my dentist and came away very impressed. Not only was Dr. Arcan very professional and had great communication about what to expect, it was obvious that the entire staff enjoyed each other and liked to keep the environment as fun and relaxing as possible. Before and after my procedure there were a lot of laughs actually, so I really appreciated that and would recommend them to anyone. I'm fully expecting my future implant procedure to go well. Dr. Arcan came highly recommended from a friend of mine. My 13 year old daughter was a bit apprehensive about having 5 teeth pulled (all baby teeth) so that she could get braces. Dr. Arcan is one of a kind. She IV Sedated me with zero pain or bruising and removed a Cyst in my mouth within 2 mo of my first appt. (I'm 2wks post op and 90% healed) I had been trying to have that thing removed for about 5 yrs. It had been growing for 14 yrs. The 1st time I went to a Dentist, I didn't have $1500 for surgery. The 2nd time, the Dentist had different offices located throughout So Cal. On three separate occassions he left his biopsy materials in another office.But managed to do $3000 worth of dental work. While I was getting my exam they talked my husband into letting them check his teeth hence the $3000. The next time I tried another Dentist, she was Satan and I needed therapy when I left. That's all I'm going to say about that. My teeth were cleaned, I had a root canal (a very good Dentist did it because Satan referred me to him) I guess root canals were above her pay grade because she asked me how much I was charged for it. SO I go to ANOTHER Dentist. I was choosey this time. Female, nice, skilled etc. no worries. Not quite. First I had to schedule appts for "payment consultations" & the office was 40mi away. SO I gave up, until I had to find an after hrs Emergency Dentist who pulled two of my teeth (one I had the root canal on) that were by this time being pushed out by the cyst. She traumatized my mouth and the next month was NOT fun. SO, I find a Dentist 3blks from my home (at least it's close). He consults with me & refers me to Dr. Arcan that day. He said she was "the best". I agree. Aside from her Academic Credentials and skills set, she stitched my wound perfectly (and I was a nurse 10 yrs & have seen much stitch work) The only way to understand how good she and her nursing staff really are, is to go there and let them take care of you. I can't convey "peace of mind" and "relief" over the internet. lol AND My mouth is FREEEEEEE I'll be returning to Dr. Arcan whenever possible if I ever need an Oral Surgeon. OH and, I was given choices when it came to what Dental work I had done that day. Which decreased my bill by about $1000 You can trust Arcan. read more

I went to Dr Arcan because of all the great reviews. She spoke with me for less than 5 minutes, then sent in the person who deals with insurance and money. I went for a wisdom tooth removal, I had xrays from another oral surgeon. Dr A said she needed to do a CT scan of my mouth before she could pull my tooth, due to the xray not being able to see the root. Of course insurance does not cover xrays and it would be around $500 out of pocket just for the CT scan. I chose to go to the original oral surgeon who did not need a CT scan, and all went well. I felt like she was in it for the money, I would not recommend her. read more

I am so thankful to Dr. Arcan. I had a very difficult case where I could have suffered from permanent jaw numbness. The very thought scared me to death. Dr. Arcan may be small in stature but that lady knows what she's doing and I came out of the procedure free of any complications and absolutely zero jaw numbness. I don't know why I waited so long for this review but can I just tell you how amazing and fabulous my time was here at Dr. Simona Arcan's office. After five years of waiting to get my wisdom teeth removed- yes I know, I'm stupid, I developed severe pericorinitis. As I should. You know when food gets trapped into your wisdom tooth between your gums and creates an infection, starts to secrete white puss, and develops into a fever forcing you to be on antibiotics? Yeah that disease. Okay so basically I tried going to a dentist in Irvine a year prior but I just had a bad experience with that dentist. Not going to name names but the review is on my page from like a year ago. After self diagnosing myself and dying from pericorinitis, I decided to check out Dr. Arcan's office, which I found on Yelp. When I came to her office, I was very surprised by how chic the office was! The decor, the pillows, couches, and color scheme was very fabulous. Love a hip doctor's office with style. Nevertheless, the staff was very friendly. I couldn't remember the ladies' names but I think one of them was named Kelsey. She was such a sweet heart. I was roomed right away and Dr. Simona Arcan was also perfect. For those who don't know, she is also an MD and a DDS from USC. She diagnosed me with pericorinitis and prescribed me antibiotics. After taking that for a little over a week, I had no more white puss coming out of my mouth nor was I suffering from a fever. I was now ready to go under to take my left wisdom teeth out, both top and bottom. All I remember was Dr. Arcan telling me that everything is going to be fabulous and next thing you know, the surgery is complete and I was done! I didn't believe them at first until one of the dental assistants told me that I was snoring the whole time, which was good because it indicated that I was properly asleep during the surgery. I joked back at her and told her she was lying because I do not snore, I am a lady. Recovery-wise, I was ready and was kind of excited to look like a chipmunk. However, Dr. Simon Arcan was so amazing that I had no swelling at all! Wow! People did not believe that I had my wisdom tooth taken out until I showed them the gauze in my mouth. I endured the normal recovery period, and was properly taught by the office to wash out my holes with a syringe to significantly reduce the chances of dry socket. Price-wise, everything was very reasonable. Really loved this experience and office. I will definitely recommend and come back to get my right wisdom teeth taken out! read more

We couldn't be happier. Took our 16 year daughter in for wisdom teeth removal ( all 4, and impacted). She hates needles, but they completely took care of her, kept her calm and one day later she's already visiting with friends. Of course first day was little rough, and she has puffy cheeks but minimal discomfort. We also appreciated Dr. Arcan personally following up to check in. I had a really bad tooth issue. Not only was my back molar going bad but my sinus nerve was communicating with my bad tooth nerve. Ouch!!! I couldn't even drink milk or eat ice cream the pain was so bad. I new we could not save the tooth and the sinus issue had to be dealt with. To say I was terrified would be an understatement as I had a bad experience with a different oral surgeon many years ago. Dr. Arcan and her staff are wonderful. She pulled the tooth, did a bone graft and sinus closure. Wow what a difference I am already feeling 3 days later. My sense of smell has mysteriously come back and I can enjoy ice cream again! And the procedure was smooth as silk. I was sedated so I really didn't feel a thing. I only had to take motrin and for two days. I was so scared about this I was literally crying the night before and morning of. I also only had minimal swelling. I am able to eat ice cream again. I had a great experience at this office! I had excruciating wisdom teeth pain and Dr. Arcan was able to get me in the next day for removal. I was very nervous to get my wisdom out under anesthesia but Dr. Arcan and her office eased my nerves immediately. We took our 17 year old daughter to Dr Arcan and had the most wonderful experience. She needed 4 wisdom teeth pulled and an extra tooth for a total of 5. The pain following the procedure was as minimal as possible and she healed within a couple of days. The office is beautiful and has a very serene setting. If you are looking for a great Oral Surgeron, Simona Arcan's office is the place to be! I stumbled upon her from a referal from my normal dentist. The office is extremely clean and neat, the staff is professional and caring, and most of all they made me feel comfortable before surgery. I had my two upper wisdom teeth removed along with a cyst. The surgery went well and fast, only about 45 minutes, they give you your prescriptions before surgery so when your out you can pop a few vicoden's to ease the pain. She did an incredible job on the surgery, two days after surgery there was absolutely no pain. I was able to eat solid foods on day 4. If you have to get any oral surgery I definitely recommend Dr. Arcan. She uses top of the line medical equiptment and surrounds herself by an awesome staff. Plus one of the surgeon assistants is smoking hot. Always a plus. read more
