After looking for a new dentist for the longest time. Probably several years of jumping from new location to new location and feeling no real connection or sense of sincere care on any level from professionalism or general courtesy. I had lost all hope until I found Brookhurst McFadden Dental Group. From the moment I entered the location I was very pessimistic about the ability and care that these people could deliver for a first time patient. I was extremely skeptical through my entire visit up until the end of my cleaning. The "hygienist" Brian Le who cleaned my teeth stayed long after the location closed. While hearing each of his coworkers say "Goodbye" he didn't rush just to go home or at least that was the feeling I felt. His attention to detail allowed him to find a hidden cavity which the other specialists missed under all the "calcium". Long story short, I will be revisiting this location until I find something wrong with the way they care for my dental needs. Onto visit 2 which should be a consultation for a tooth extraction and then a deep cleaning, then from there only time will tell if I stay or not. But, thank you Brian Le for the suggestion on a deep cleaning and the time spent cleaning my teeth, much appreciated, I've never had that much detail in a cleaning and that's probably why I've gotten so many cavities due to such poor care in the past. I have been going to this dentist for something like ten years and each time I have had excellent experiences. My last visit, yesterday (6/26/25) I had a teeth cleaning and x-rays. The hygienist (Nina, if I remember correctly) was great, very gentle touch. The new front desk staff is as good as the old, I've never had any scheduling issue(s) and I've always been satisfied and felt comfortable. read more

I wanted to start off by saying that this review is not for the kind female receptionists who checked me in, the African American employee who took pictures of my teeth, or the dental hygientist (whose name I believe is Brian?). These staff members were extremely kind! This 1 star review is for the Asian female employee who performed my teeth cleaning. I do not know her name but she wears a scrub cap. She is condescending and belittles patients who are on the fence about wisdom teeth removal. She is judgemental and does not provide information on the importance of the removal; she merely scoffs at your excuse (mine is that I am currently in nursing school, struggling to find free time) without explaining why it is so important to do so. I felt extremely judged in her care months ago but never felt the need to make a bad review. I consider myself a fair person and understand that everyone has bad days. However, unfortunately, my mom recently told me about a horrible experience she had with the same woman. My mom came in with some tooth pain and asked this woman what she thought the cause would be. This employee not only laughed in my mom's face, but said, "You have a hole in your tooth! Of course there's gonna be some pain!" This embarrassed my mom so much that she said she couldn't say anything else. What a shame it is to have gone through years of higher education and not have the ability to share your knowledge with patients in a supportive, judgement-free manner. The funny thing is I never told my mom about my personal experience with the same employee; we just found out we were helped by the same woman today based on our matching descriptions. It is difficult to remain still in a chair while someone who is rude and lacks compassion works on your mouth. The experience alone is already uncomfortable but add on a healthcare provider who can't answer patients' questions without a hurtful tone and attitude? Horrible! Wish I could make this a 0/5 review. read more

Just had a deep cleaning procedure done. I was definitely not looking forward to it but the lady who did the work was so friendly and made it a very comfortable experience. Throughout the entire process she would check in and ask if I was okay or if I needed a break. I never felt any pain. I was warned I might feel some discomfort after the numbness wore off but I never did! She did a great job and was delicate with my teeth and gums. read more

1st visit = fine - new patient 2nd visit = fine - oral surgery office experience = negative stars the only issue i have is during the second visit, my credit card was ran 7 times and two of transaction posted. They didnt check to see if the previous transaction went through. It was until i look at my transaction. wtf lucky me i got myself 5 pending transaction and two posted ones now i got to file a dispute....incompetent personnel and when i reached out to them it seems that they didnt care that they made a mistake. what kind of business they are running? now im stuck waiting for 60 days for my cc company to resolve the dispute...fml might change my dentist group after this altercation... read more

Found this place on yelp and cross referenced with my insurance that they accepted Delta Dental for a routine cleaning. I had to switch to a new spot because my old place no longer accepted my insurance. Since its a new place I guess I had to take x-rays again, but it was the more unpleasant than usual because my dental hygienist wasn't as efficient as my previous hygienist which puts me biting in uncomfortable positions for longer periods of time. The cleaning experience itself was the most painful time I've spent at the dentist. I've had other hygienist hit a nerve or 2 during the cleaning process, but during this experience she seemed to hit it on every other tooth she worked on. I had to get a grip and prepare myself every time she used that hot waterpick. I'm then told that if I had healthy gums I shouldn't feel a thing during the process, so I guess all the fault lies on me. While showing no empathy, I was recommended a deep cleaning but there's no way I'm having her work on me any more than she has to. Not sure if its the years of experience versus someone new but my previous hygienist was able to provide me with a pain free cleaning routine the past 3 years. An example that crosses my mind is how you can have painful or gentle experiences when getting your blood drawn. Another first was I was sent back to the waiting room before I got to see the dentist, which was an awkward transition. The dentist herself was very professional and kind, but on my way out when I barely opened the door to the waiting room I get a "Don't leave!" which startled me. I assume I was just going to make the appointment in the lobby, but the rude callback from the front office was just another unpleasant experience. read more

This review is just for the front office person I spoke to over the phone. I called the office trying to schedule an appointment for routine cleaning. I'm looking for a new dentist office since my current one doesn't have a hygienist working on the days I have off. I spoke to Cathy. She asked me my insurance and I let her know it was Delta Dental. She asked me if it was HMO or PPO. I told her I wasn't sure but since I have HMO with my medical, I'd assume my dental would be the same. She proceeded to tell me that Delta Dental doesn't go thru the medical provider I gave her. I reassured her that was my insurance and that I've had no issues using it in the past. I should note that I work at a medical office and deal with insurances all day long. She said she couldn't find me in the system with my name and DOB. I reminded her (again) that my insurance was thru my husband. She then asks for his SSN. I said that she should just be able to look it up with his name and his DOB. She FINALLY obliges, and voila, she finds it! I ask her what she found and says it's Delta Dental . So I just spent 10 minutes on the phone with Cathy for her to tell me my dental insurance is what I told her in the first 10 seconds of our conversation. She turned me off completely to even wanting to step foot in that office. I will find another dentist office to go to. read more

My wife has been with this dental group for quite a few years with great results, and yesterday was my turn. I needed nine teeth extracted in preparation for dentures. Dr. VO put me to sleep, and I woke up an hour later and the procedure was complete. No pain at all, and overall a very pleasant experience. Beware of this money hungry place. I found this place close to my house so I booked for my wife teeth cleaning. We verified they accept her insurance and the annual teeth cleaning is authorized. They sound really nice and professional as the other reviews say. My wife went in for service and they tried to sale her the $700 deep cleaning package. She said no and would like only the regular routine cleaning. 1 month later, I see they charge our insurance over $500 for this cleaning. Itemized all type of x-ray services. The insurance only paid $89 for the teeth cleaning. Now they want us to pay another $142. $232 for a teeth cleaning? I see other people experience similar issue as we do. If you still decide to go to this place, just be careful. Make sure everything is black and white in paper. Know what they are going to charge you before receiving the service. I am going to file a complaint to the Dental Board of CA.. Uuuurrrrggghhhh !!! read more

My family and I have been patients at this dental office for over 20 years. We primarily see Dr. Shultz and he's been great. The best dentist we've had. He's always gentle, explains the procedure clearly and he tells you what he's doing while he's working on you. No complaint. When necessary, we see Dr. Le. He's pretty good with what he does but a little bit rough sometimes. Most of the office staff are pretty good and nice except the new girls at the front desk. The older ladies before were very professional and thorough with their work. The 2 new receptionists are usually rude and lack professionalism. I'm not even sure if they know how to do their jobs since they make mistakes with charging us and the insurance and also makes error on scheduling. They overcharged our insurance and I'm not sure if it was a mistake or intentional. Other than that, the office is pretty good. read more

Everyone is friendly and helpful. Great work. Got everything done far faster than expected and they were able to do more stuff too. Highly recommend them. I was married to a nurse for almost 15 years and she always tells me that what nurse gives the shots or draws blood is everything.
