DO NOT use this company . They hire thieves. They broke into a strong box that was in a bag in an area that that they should not have been in. To save a bit of money I went with them, but it was a huge mistake. Moved 1 mile away and the estimate was 10 hours with 5 men. The move started at 9:00 am and went on until 11:00pm, 2 men worked while the other 3 stood around most of the time. One kid was carrying 1 small box at time and spools of tape, unbelievable. My estimate was a $3794.47, but after the 14 hour move I was told I owed more $5014.47 I had to clean out the old house for the new buyers for the final walk thru, but Simonek called, texted and harassed me for the remaining balance while I was cleaning, and the move had ended the evening before and it was still before noon when they would not stop badgering me. Overall, the experience was the worst of all my moves. Moving is stressful enough, my advice is to go with any other company, it couldn't be worse than this company. read more

Outstanding local move with these guys!! Have used before, so it was nice to see Brian our moving coordinator again. The entire process was simple and we must have changed moving days three times thanks to a difficult closing on our new house. The team that arrived, Julio I believe, was incredible! They moved everything- things I didn't even think they would. All of the guys were outstanding, friendly and even kept saying hello to my 9 month old Daughter who was recklessly eye balling them, lol. My wife had us move over a bunch of stuff prior to moving- something I still can't grasp!- and I was pleased to come in under estimate as a result. You hear horror stories, but these guys are fair. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Our lives were turned upside down for 39 days while we waited for our belongings. They damaged most of our furniture. We scheduled a July 1, 2019 move from NJ to Columbus, Ohio and confirmed with Simonik a week prior to the move. On July 1st we waited and waited, but Simonik did not show up. My husband called and got a run-around story and they finally told us that our move was not entered into their system and therefore we would have to wait until July 3rdat the earliest. Apparently Bobby neglected to enter our scheduled move into Allied's system. After a lot of anxiety, four movers finally arrived around noon. Two movers were very young and we believe they hired them right off the street that day. They clearly had no experience and were ill-equipped to move us. They nearly dropped or actually dropped many items. They completely banged up our walls. There were huge gauges that we had to repair when they left. My husband caught one of the young movers smoking marijuana outside our home by the truck. He later proceeded to eat pizza and drink red Gatorade on our couch and white carpet. These two younger movers were struggling with each and every item they attempted to move. Our walls and floors suffered greatly. When they all finally left, my husband spent two hours repairing the walls and painting as best as he could before we were able to leave. There was extensive damage to our home. My husband then called Bobby and explained everything that had occurred during the move. Bobby did not seem too interested, and he actually would not believe us about the marijuana incident. Simonik told us that we would receive our belongings between July 3rd and July 10th.July 10thcame and went without a delivery. We contacted several people from Simonik trying to find out when we would get our things. One particular office worker named Jessica was not only unhelpful but also very rude. She told us in an email that she "will not take responsibility for this since it wasn't her fault!" We were not looking to place blame. We only wanted answers. Nobody could help us. After calling Allied corporate and Simonik everyday for weeks, the truck finally arrived on July 22nd.When the driver came to our door he immediately asked if Simonik had told us that only half of our belongings made it on the truck. Nobody from Simonik had informed us. Apparently, Simonik didn't order a big enough truck. In fact, they were off by thousands of pounds! It was as if this had been their first job moving a family. The items that came off that truck were in terrible condition. Nearly half of our glasses and plates were broken. Expensive artwork that we paid to have transported in protective crates were also damaged. ALMOST EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF FURNITURE HAD SOME AMOUNT OF DAMAGE! These damages ranged from large gauges to water damage to scratches. Our couch arrived with only one of the four back cushions. Either Simonik or the movers somehow lost these large couch cushions. Of course neither will accept responsibility. These cushions have never been found. This was a fairly new and quite expensive couch. After we recovered from the shock of only half of our belongings arriving and nearly all items damaged or destroyed, we tried to find out when our remaining items would arrive. Everyone at Simonik avoided our calls and emails. They would not tell us when our items would arrive. Only Bobby would answer me from time to time, however his responses were very vague. He couldn't tell us anything. When I asked him about my missing cushions, he said he would follow up. He never returned my calls. After many more calls and text messages to Bobby, he finally said that they were not in the warehouse. He had no idea where they were, but was not willing to investigate further.  Finally on August 9th, 39 days after our move, we received the other half of our belongings. These things were in even worse condition, and the couch cushions were still nowhere to be found. One of the contracted drivers took pictures of our belongings in Simonik's warehouse because he was appalled at the haphazard way in which everything was tossed together. He sent me these pictures. It is no wonder everything was so badly damaged. Things were thrown on top of others. No protection on the furniture. Boxes were stored directly on top of a very expensive dresser. This same dresser has severe water damage now. So when they promise you that your things will be kept in an orderly manner in a temperature controlled warehouse, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! Using Simonik Moving and Storage to store and move our belongs was one of the most disturbing and shocking business dealimgs we have ever made in our 83 and 85 year old lives! Deep gouging beyond possibility of repair of wooden table, antique pie safe and cherry dresser. Dozens of minor scratching on almost every piece of furniture. The most serious damage was the gouging right down tO the metal frame of our $2000 leather couch. and to top it all off Simonik's letter of declination was rude, dismissive and contained mistruths. they claim the damages were done before they ever picked up the furniture which is ridiculous. How in the heck did they presume to think that we would do that kind of stuff to our furniture? Also, sometime during the month or things were stored, most of the boxes containing clothing had gotten wet. They did send everything to the dry cleaner. We are still in a state of shock and dismay about what happened to our belongings. it just doesn't seem fair to be treated that way at our age and my husband being a veteran. read more

My goodness where do I begin to share my experience with Simonik Moving and Storage. I guess at the beginning is best. I relocated from NJ to Minnesota during a pandemic - as if moving halfway across the country isn't stressful enough. After doing considerable and I do mean extensive research I chose to partner with Simonik. They were not the most expensive nor where they the least expensive. Sales rep - John was extremely helpful - until I signed the contract. That's when my troubles began. The movers showed up on time on the scheduled date - Sept 15, 2021. They were extremely professional and pleasant. So far so go right - NOT. According to my contract my belongings were to be delivered between Sept 20-28, 2021and the balance due was to be paid in cash or certified check. Before leaving NJ I got a certified check then packed my car and headed to Minneapolis looking forward to my next chapter. John gave me an incorrect quote so the certified check I got was an overpayment. And my belongings didn't show up 3 WEEKS AFTER THE CONTRACTED DELIVERY DATE - OCTOBER 10, 2021 !!!!! I didn't have a bed, clothes, a chair, cooking or bathroom supplies for 3 weeks. I called Simonik everyday and I do mean everyday asking when my stuff was going to be delivered. After being a total pest, the owner Matt Simonik got involved. I must give him credit - he was very pleasant and genuinely sorry for the inconvenience. He called on a regular basis with updates - which was my stuff was still in NJ. He even call me the day he became a new dad. He explained that Simonik is an agent of Allied Van Lines and are at their "mercy". Matt did everything he could to help but like the rest of the world COVID created a long-distance trucker shortage. I wish Simonik would have told me that when I signed the contract. It would have made a difference in when I left NJ. When my belongings finally showed up my brand new sofa was damaged !! Today February 17, 2022 - 5 months and 2 days after my belongings were picked up my sofa was repaired and I can close the chapter on the move. read more

I just moved from central NJ to 1 BR in Queens NY and this moving company did an outstanding job! My sales rep, Matt, was very informative, suggestive, and reasonable when discussing the process and price. He was very detailed, delivered boxes to my house for clothes and stuff, and called multiple times to make sure I was ready to go. He was very nice, ask for him! They showed up on time. They looked around my place and made sure they understood exactly what to move and what not to. My corner desk was too big to fit out the door so they took it apart and put it back together no problem. The couch was also a tight fit so they removed the legs and put them back on no problem. They also installed my AC unit for me! I noticed they were also very careful and considerate of my belongings, but at the same time they weren't moving slowly. The whole move was over in almost 4-5 hours. Moving with this company was a great decision. The most stressful part was having to unpack all my boxes! Thank you Simonik! I am very disappointed with this service. I paid over $12,000 dollars for storage and my move. They not only damaged most of my items, they did not show any care or respect for any items when they came to deliver. I wasn't home to take delivery, I had 3 people who witnessed them throw my stuff, put whatever they can where, damage paint on walls, break so many items. I paid so much money, they robbed me and now I don't hear back from them. They just care about stealing your money with giving you poor service and no regards to you items!! They should be embarrassed after taking so much money from someone an not even show concern after I sent emails and messages letting them know my items have been destroyed, my walls damaged!!! read more

Overall, Julio and team were great. But after getting the quote (that stated the price), I was due almost 1000k more due to the time it took them do to their mistakes. Too small of a truck, wrong load size, etc. called the owner to discuss and he told me it's "what it is". Very dissaffied with the owner of this company and they do not care after the job is done. At the end of the move, my floors got scratched in one room (mind you they are brand new wood floors after discussing with them) and the owner did not care about fixing them. It started with an in-home visit by Rob. He represented one of the few moving companies that visited our home to give a proper estimate (I still don't think you can give a customer an accurate estimate without a visit). And he was absolutely the only one that had an iPad and utilized a program for an accurate box count and weight estimate. The estimate was better/similar to other quotes received but we appreciated Robs appearance and use of technology. I used these guys to move down south. About 80% of my boxes are damaged, crushed, dented, what the hell did they go through!? Some are halfway opened. Everything left in perfect shape from my apartment in NJ. It looks like they went through a meat grinder. My comic book boxes have sharp dents in them. Some of them are crushed from the front. Some of my comics are bent on the corners and on the top. Boxes that were marked "handle with care" are crushed. Some boxes were hand ripped open! After 2 months now, we're still finding stuff that are broken. I'm seriously unhappy with the way they were handled. Leading up to the move all seemed to be going well.Had phone conversations,gave moving inventory,agreed on scheduling, cost estimates etc.. The day of the move was July 21, 2018. Movers were to show up between 8:00am -9:00am. Last phone contact for verification occurred on Wednesday July 18. Again all seemed OK. Was told to expect a final confirmation phone call Friday afternoon July 20 (day before the scheduled move). Did not receive a call (Should I be worried ?) Called office Friday afternoon- no answer. Saturday morning day of the move NO SHOW!! Kept calling the office and no answer. Calls kept going over to voice mail, I left numerous messages. No response. Called Allied Van Lines (Simonik Movers are an affiiate) No help. Still no calls from this company . It has now been 4 days - still no response. Move went ok. Had to ask one mover to put mask back on once. Movers were slow. I could have done the move in 3-4 hours with one other guy and a truck, but I am past that point in my life, and can just pay a company to do it. Took the 3 person crew 4.5 hours, so they had to add $79 to my estimate in the middle of the move because the estimate was for 4 hours. They actually stopped moving things and made me sign a credit card verification after they had been in their truck for a good 30 minutes where I hadn't seen them. They then finished very quickly. They did not majorly damage anything. A couple of dings here and there, but overall everything went ok. My main complaint is not with the movers who did the move, but the company itself. When the movers arrived they had me sign a bunch of papers. After the move was over, I was going through them and realized I signed an addendum to the contract saying that a random owner operator company is actually doing the move. That is acceptable as per the original contract, but it could have been made clear the day of the move. I had no idea Simonik Movers, the well review company and who we had researched and communicated with actually sub contracted out the move to a random company. When it was scheduled I believe they knew and just did't say anything and slip it by you when the move is happening. When Simonik scheduled the move, they even stated that it was going to be that day because they are waiting for masks for their employees to come in. The movers were not employees of Simonik. Nor did they have the same masks on. I thought it was weird the truck had no signage or advertising for Simonik on it. Now I wonder if Simonik even employees its own movers or just sells the contract out to the lowest bidder, who then I suspect always ups the estimate. I would like to know if I could have verification of the drug testing and background check of the 3 guys who did the move, as on Simonik states on its website. Simonik probably knows who the boss that day was, but I would bet they have no info on the other two men. I will remove this review if I am provided that info, which would show that they hold true to what they advertise on their website. If this review is still posted, it means there was never a response and or acceptable proof they even know who the three guys that were in my house were was not provided. Also, it is deceptive that their website only has 5 star reviews. Nothing else. That is impossible. Simonik has deceptive & fraudulent practices and did not keep their word on multiple counts. Their "guaranteed rate" does not mean anything. Their weighing wasn't honest. Buyer beware! First, their sales rep Matt, courteous and seemed professional at first, gave a low-ball estimate to get our business. They gave us a "guaranteed not to exceed" estimate of around $12k. I also purchased a "guaranteed rate reduction" just in case our weight would come UNDER their estimate. But a week after they picked up our goods and put it in storage, he called to say that the weight came way above (about 4,000 lbs) above their estimate. Apparently, they did either a very poor job estimating our goods, or purposely underestimated (by a couple hundred items?!), just to get the job and then "stick it to us" later. I had not hidden any items, and even disclosed one additional item that I later found during the move, that was in a dark corner of our crawl space, that was most likely missed. They wanted me to pay an additional $3,500+! Not having researched all my rights yet, I said to Matt that I would be willing to work out a number in between and asked for a new quote. Instead, he sent me a change order showing no compromise on his part, but asking me to pay the additional $3,500+. Apparently, he had no intention of absorbing any of the error in his estimate. He SOUNDS nice on the phone but what he DID doesn't line up with what he SAID. I called other movers and professionals in the moving industry and was told that they are bound to keep their "guaranteed rate" estimate. The "Mover's rights & responsibilities" book says that even if the estimate is non-binding, they're not allowed to charge you more than 10% above the original estimate. Multiple professional sources confirmed that my complaint was valid and what Simonik was doing was unethical. I called Allied Van Lines to complain, and they reported that in the system Simonik had already put in the higher weight and price, when I had not even signed this change order! I let Allied Corporate know that I had not agreed to this change order, and that Simonik was charging me way more than originally estimated in their "guaranteed rate estimate", and that I was disputing this charge. In my follow-up calls with Simonik, the sales rep was not helpful nor did I trust him, so I asked to speak with the president Jim, who then insulted me on the phone, yelling, calling me NAMES (unbelievable!) and threatening me. ("I can charge whatever I want to for that extra item, you won't get your things back until you pay, etc.") He was unprofessional & a bully. He wasn't willing to work out a compromise until I showed him my other quotes. I wanted to get my things back and decided to work out a compromise to do so; I gave copies of the two other quotes I had received, a low/mid non-binding estimate, and a higher, binding estimate that was actually accurate. Knowing I would file complaints w/various organizations and go after him legally if necessary, Jim did work out a number in between, and net-net, I ended up paying about $1,800 (about 11%) more than the original estimate and signed the change order. Next, the weight ticket. ALWAYS ask for the weight ticket, and know that you have the right to be present at the weighing. I was not present at the first weigh-in after pick-up, but did ask for copies of the weight tickets. But not being able to trust in the integrity of their weighing, I did ask to be present for the weighing at final delivery. Matt seemed reluctant to have me present at the weighing and even slightly tried to discourage me from being present, but when I stood firm, he complied and connected me with the driver who would do the delivery. And guess what? The weight of the delivered goods came in 850 lbs LOWER than Simonik's weight. How do you think Simonik got a weight 850 lbs higher than the actual weight? Even their weighing was dishonest! I'm so disappointed & disgusted at the levels of dishonesty in their company, that I can't even speak with them. In the end, I got my things back, from a mover that didn't keep their word and even falsified their weight of my goods to charge me more... but it it took a whole lot of stress & fighting to get my things back! I will never deal with them again, and warn others from doing so. The packers, loaders & unloaders worked hard and seemed to do a good job. Not sure how the unloaders at the Simonik storage facility did; a few of our items did arrive broken, and we will be filing a claim. On delivery day, the unloading team, led by ANOTHER Allied Van Lines driver (this agent was from NY) did a good job, and we tipped them well. As a first time home buyer, Simonik Moving put my mind at ease. They made my move feel completely seamless and set my furniture up perfectly. I had no complaints when it came to handling and care. They wrapped all my pieces and loaded the truck with caution and packed the furniture with precision so that none of my mirrors or paintings would be damaged. Brian was an excellent mover and Rob was a terrific salesman to work with. His professionalism and estimates were on point and I will recommend them to anyone! Not only was the estimate right-on, almost down to the exact weight and box count, but the moving crew was a pleasure to work with. They took great care in loading the contents of our 3 bedroom house and worked very quickly. The communication from this company all along the way was excellent. Everyone I interacted with was professional and knowledgeable and the timing of the delivery of our belongings was perfect, allowing us a few days to drive to WI and to finish some painting and clean up at the new house before things arrived. The Allied affiliate who helped with the unloading was also top-notch. Interstate moves are stressful and Simonik made it easy for us! I highly recommend them! read more

DONT DO IT! Packers had very light packing to the point the movers took pictures. They were trying to use exactly the amount of the estimate it was clear. How do people look at themselves in the mirror? The move started at 9:30 am and went to 2am just for the move 1.5 hours between homes! Estimated for 4 movers and showed up with 3! Then tried to tell me a got a deal for only having 3! WHAT? I want 6 hours of my life back! They also charged me over estimate!!! I had already moved many things on my own. Now lets talk about everything broken... dining room table - broke a leg clean off and set it up anyway and pretended it was ok. I have small dogs and this table is all mirrors - about 200lbs at least. if it fell on someone or an animal they would be KILLED. Scratched dark wood table and covered them up. Waterford crystal bowls cracked and chipped, large clay planters shattered. anything taken apart (media centre, treadmill, etc) twasn't put back together with any thought. Left screws everywhere! Still trying to fix. They didn't follow any of the writing on the boxes on where to put things. Just wanted to put light items on top floor even though they said garage. why is it impossible to find good movers whom are honest? WHY?? I have photos but can't find a way to post them. read more

This company ruined an expensive dining room table and chair. After waiting for a month I called them to ask why no one had responded to my claim. The owner, Jim Simonik made no effort to apologize for damaging my furniture or ignoring my claim. He told me I would be receiving a settlement of only $78.00 and then got nasty and told me it was my fault for not buying more insurance. I would have bought more if I had known how badly they would treat my furniture. Needless to say, I would never use this company again! read more

Do not use Simonik and do not use Allied Van Lines! You will regret it. We selected Simonik Movers since they are the local partner with Allied Van Lines. We just relocated o Austin two weeks ago. I completely agree with the comments of John K, but wish to take my critique further, since our move was to Austin. Our furniture was picked up by a very competent local crew on June 22. That's where the positive experience started and ended. Allied Van Lines staff in Indiana and Simonik in Bound Brook, NJ grossly misrepresent their capabilities to provide a worry-free, timely national move. The salesman arranging our national move, completely misled us and the staff at both the local and national levels are uninformed and apparently unable to help the customer. It's a perfect storm of confusion and chaos. Bruce Hartmann, was our national salesperson who is based in the local Simonik office, promised in writing that our household would be delivered 5-9 days from pickup on June 22, or by July 1 at the very latest. Our delivery finally occurred on July 8. The local Simonik staff---Sandy the manager, Wendy, the coordinator and Bruce our slick salesman---have NO information on our move status, nor do they care. We have had to contact the national move "specialist", for information on our move and She has done her best to give us updates on status. Apparently only the assigned national driver of our truck is the only person able to tell you when he plans to deliver your household. This complete lack of management information at both the local and national office levels is astounding in this day and age. Allied Van Lines has little investment or interest in managing their moves. They literally have no national tracking system of their moves so they don't know where your move is at any given time, or status, leaving the customer to scramble to get updates. I would NEVER recommend scheduling a move either locally in the Tri-state area or nationally with Allied Van Lines or Simonik in New Jersey. Allied Van Lines is as disorganized as is Simonik; no one at either level really cares. When we finally were contacted by the driver, he appeared agitated and frustrated with the workload. He was behind schedule and understaffed. This is not a "bargain" move by any means. We are paying top dollar for this move because we thought we were hiring one of the best national moving companies. It's a joke. We have asked for compensation above a meager $150 a night hotel reimbursement offered by the national coordinator but were denied. In Austin, any decent hotel is well over $200 per night. Our scheduled delivery date is now July 8th (17 days since pick-up. When we finally received delivery, many furniture items were scratched and knicked. Multiple boxes were delivered soaking wet and others crushed. Our delivery driver To Austin was excellent. As were his two local assistants from Austin. He told us that our entire household had been unwrapped at the Simonik warehouse and off loaded from the truck that picked up our belongings on June 22. All our carefully wrapped furniture had to be rewrapped because the padding belonged to the local Simonik company and not the national company!! Plus our furniture had sat on a loading dock uncovered for over a week editing to be re wrapped and reloaded onto the national truck. Our driver said this was completely unnecessary and the fault of Simonik and the local management of our move. So why isn't Allied staff monitoring their moves and preventing this sort of nonsense from happening? Where are the quality checks? Who is monitoring the performance of their network partners? And why is the delivery solely in charge of the move? It's a bizzare and archaic system. Congress should investigate the moving industry! We plan to litigate for compensation due to delays, false advertising on both websites, and incredible emotional stress caused by Allied and Simonik. Even though they were the one of the most expensive quotes we received they managed to charge us another $1,000 that was never mentioned to us. The moving crew did a great job, the salesman and the office staff were very unresponsive. I would not recommend this company. read more

Have used Simonik Moving and Storage for two in-town moves. Sales representative Brian was very thorough and followed up quite often until we signed a contract. He explained everything thoroughly and was very prompt in getting back to me with questions I had. The crew that was sent to do the move was very professional and courteous. The move took about 10 hours (1 hour less than quoted) so we will receive a refund for that extra hour. We would use them again (although we are NEVER moving again EVER!) read more

We were a little reluctant to hire a moving company for our recent move after having several friends tell us horror stories of their experiences. This was not the case for us. John from Simonik came out shortly after inquiring about our move and did a thorough job estimating the work to be done. For the day of the move the movers arrived on-time, moved all of our furniture and boxes without doing any damage to either our items or both houses. The only time these guys took a break during the move was when we ordered a few pizzas for them. And after they completed the job it turned-out that we actually owed less on our balance than originally estimated due to the fact they completed the job in less hours than anticipated. This moving company was the absolute worst, they had 12 items to move, and it took 5 1/2 hours. My boyfriend had to help load the stuff from our home. Simonik Moving had someone else's furniture on the truck at the same time they came to my home. Driver said his " buddy borrowed the truck the night before, he didn't empty the truck." Really.....Broke my brand new couch's leg off. Called John Simonik the next day to tell him how horrible the move was. Movers couldn't communicate with us, only spoke Spanish, didn't know what they were supposed to move. Horrible, horrible ,horrible moving company! Had claim sent to my house to fill out for damages. Filled it out, mailed it back, then they "never received it" according to Jim Simonik. It took two months for me to receive a refund. 72.00. Thank you so much Simonik Moving, alias Allied Moving. Simonik was outstanding in our local move of a few miles. I contacted four movers and Matthew Simonick was the only person who came to our house to give us an estimate. This alone won them the contract. The packing service was outstanding and the day of the move as well. Great care was taken to protect our belongings and our new home. The crew was very professional and even helped me assemble a large cage for our Macaw. I hope this is our last move but if not Simonik will move us again. We contracted with Simonik on June 9 to move the furniture out of our first floor so we could have our hardwood floors refinished. On July 6 we received a call and were informed that Simonik did not feel the job was worth their time. This was one week before they were contracted to be here. Why did they bid on the job originally, and why did they wait a month to cancel? We relied on the copy of their BBB rating that they included with their bid, which said they have an A+ rating. Not sure how they can possibly have that rating with this type of business practice. read more

Believe the bad reviews, they are true, especially for a long haul move. They use day laborers for their NJ work representing as their own Ees, despite claims the would only use employees they had trained and drug tested. They subbed out our move, which would have been fine, but they had no idea where our truck was and we had to find the truck ourselves (thankfully they gave the subcontractor the wrong address for our. NJ home, so we had the drivers cell number when the truck did not arrive in Florida when expected). Just to make things even better, they had only had 2 small guys to get our furniture in our new Fl home - I have one piece that is almost 1,000 pounds that we had to help get in the house and hubby and I played day laborers just to get the job done. I have been fighting with Simonik for 2 months for an adjustment from American Express for the lack of service promised and delays in getting piece they broke fixed. I paid over $8,000 for our move, I should have hired a couple of kids and rented a U-haul, I would have had better service and saved money!!! They never called me to resolve the issue, continually lie to Am Exp about the claims, and blame Allied saying the issues are Allied fault, even though I contracted with Simonik.
