My appointment for an MRI was at 5:45 on a Friday evening. The techs rushed me into the machine giving me very little time to get adjusted in a somewhat comfortable position. All the while threatening me not to move. They had me keep my shoes on and as the machine was pulling me forward, my foot caught on the outside of the machine literally bending my foot back towards my body. They gave me a little ball to push if I needed them during the imaging, but they placed it in an area that I would never have been able to even reach. If the technicians would haveGiven me even two minutes to explain the procedure, and give me time to get adjusted, the experience would've been completely different. I'm not sure if they could hear me while I was in the machine, they didn't let me know anything about it. Overall a horrible experience, and I blame the technicians for all of it read more

Front desk was very helpfull and inviting.Smiles and positive attitude. Took my friend in a w/c for a ankle x-ray. And unable to get onto the table. Amando Natalio the x-ray tech. was able to get the x-ray with creative thinking and patience. Definetly going the extra mile. My mother was recently diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer. It's been an experience and definitely a nerve racking and scary one for my mother. Upon her recent visit for a PET scan she didn't walk in until about ten to fifteen minutes after her scheduled appointment. She got lost finding the buildings as there isn't really a directory, and this was her first time being in this building, and at this SimonMed facility. Upon arrival my mother alerted the lady up front she got lost and to which she apologized for.. my mother is very aware and understanding as she works in the medical field and would have been open to rescheduling or whatever would help to figure out our cancer situation at the time. My mother sat down and waited to be called back. the technician doing my mother's scan (taller Caucasian man, receding white/grey hair, glasses) heard she had arrived, swung the door to the lobby open, to call my mother up. Only instead with no greeting or sense of decency for a woman recently diagnosed with cancer, he proclaims to her in an open and busy lobby how he can't do her scan cause she's late. He was really blunt, loud and rude about it. He claimed she'll have to reschedule, but still aired all her business out to the then FILLED lobby and was super rude. There was also a really incompetent rude blonde lady giving my mother attitude, very disheartening. My mother later cried coming back into the car, after agreeing to reschedule for hours later (you know with cancer being scary and not having anybody try to be sympathetic to her).. After agreeing my mother would come back for the scan in a couple hours, we did and we were greeted by different people with a little more decency. One thing I could tell you is don't schedule your PET here, and make sure you're not an older lady recently diagnosed with cancer who got lost finding the building. read more

If I could rate this medical diagnostic imaging services company as a zero or minus, I would in a heartbeat. These folks are not honest, competent and upfront with their patients. I had asked for both a cash price for my MRI and what the insurance price would be. The representative (Martha) that I spoke with gave me two prices that were only $2 apart. She never told me the insurance price she was giving me was only an estimate and that it could be much higher. So for a $2 difference, I chose to run it through my insurance so it would count toward my deductible. I would have chosen the cash price had I been told it was only an estimate and could be much higher. I am pretty sure these folks knew it would be much higher, and I would get stuck paying it, but they had to get me to go along with the insurance route rather than cash for that to happen. Well they knew exactly what would happen, and I got a bill from them for an additional 70% more. When I called to complain, I got the run around for the past 5 months. Finally getting someone to call me back, their Regional GM (Leslie) basically told me "too bad, that's the way it goes with insurance." She wouldn't even consider the fact it was all caused by their own representative not accurately advising me to begin with. Since this has happened to me with this company, I have warned anyone I knew who was needing medical imaging to stay clear of Simon Medical Imaging. I have also heard from many others about how bad they are. They have even misread patient MRIs, putting patients in considerable danger if not for their own doctor realizing how bad they screwed up. I will never use Simon Medical Imaging (any location) ever again. I have also made sure to tell my Interventional Pain Mgmt Doctor who referred me to SimonMed Of my experience. Since he is one of their leading referring doctors, I'm hoping that gets their attention. read more

Called yesterday to book an appointment for a mammogram screening and bone density test. I called back today to get an idea of what they charge for these tests and MRI's. Each provider charges a different amount. Most hospitals or facilities I've called in the past are able to provide pricing for lab or radiology procedures. I talked to three different people at SimonMed (financial services, customer service, and billing) and none of them understood my question. She kept on telling me that payment would depend on my insurance and plan as it varies by insurance. I was completely aware of this as I have done medical billing. I tried wording my question differently but to no avail. Based on my research and review of this company and personal experiences, they do not have competent and knowledgeable people in the billing or financial services dept. I don't like the fact that they can't tell you how much to expect to pay especially when they REQUIRE you to pay at the time of visit. Most providers bill insurance first and then bills patients for their responsibility based on the EOB (explanation of benefit) which is how it should be because it's very difficult to get refunds from medical providers once you've paid them upfront. Read some of the reviews to confirm this truth. My suggestion is that you work out a payment arrangement upfront and then wait to see what your insurance pays. read more

1 is too good of a review. This is NOT the SimonMed of yesterday-year. I forgot my insurance card. My husband texted it. I arrived early but a few minutes late getting registered, even though I gave all of the information on the phone prior. They let me know I was being penalized. Had me waiting almost an hour. I kept telling them they had overlooked me. The nasty technician told me they were working me in even though I had an appointment. Let me know they were administrating a punitive action for daring to be a couple of minutes late with the paperwork. I left although they only wanted to give me a copy of my doctor's orders. I retrieved the original and told them to cancel. Won't be back. I noticed bad reviews for many locations. Either bad leadership, expanded too quickly or both. Beware of nastiness from their techs and poor customer service at front desk. Wouldn't want a nasty tech performing such an important test. Glad she let me know how she didn't care or need to help me prior to getting the mammogram. read more

One of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. They lost two appointments, had to schedule a 3rd. Finally on the ct scan table, the tech spent 15 minutes unable to find a vein for the IV for contrast meds, shaking his head saying "I don't know buddy". Ct tech does not know how to find a vein for a ct? I cancelled scan. read more

I have been a client since Sept 2012. The staff is phenomenal. They make you comfortable and make sure you understand any and all procedures thoroughly. Andy who does Pet / Ct scans is the most personable and caring tech I have ever met. Kristen Hunt who was overseeing Kelly Lazau who is finishing her practical training in ultrasound, were a joy to deal with. Both of them were thorough, asked detailed and pertinent questions about my medical history which means they actually reviewed my file before taking me back. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff at this location. You are in competent hands here. Appointment times remain on target as long as the clients follow the check-in procedures. read more

After posting my review, someone (not the billing office) contacted me to talk about the extra charge. They basically told me that there was no way they could know the actual price of their services until the insurance company told them what they could charge. I have given them another star because they agreed to waive the extra charge. However... this is EXACTLY the problem with our system, and some providers have handled it badly. If they were willing to take a lesser charge initially, then why would they later decide to charge more? Just because my insurance company said so? Mind you, this was 100% out of my pocket, insurance wasn't paying a penny because my deductible was not satisfied.. If you can't tell me up front what a specific imaging test costs then maybe it is time to take a hard look at your business. read more

The only reason I am giving them even 1 star is because the back office staff and technicians in the facility are awesome. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. The front office staff is unprofessional, unpleasant and untrained. I have found myself at this location multiple times because of the convenient location. But with all the problems I have experienced, I will NEVER use them again. If you are even lucky enough to reach anyone on the phone to schedule without waiting forever on hold, the process of making an appointment is long and tedious. I have had my debit card charged twice for the same coinsurance amount, and then had to wait WEEKS for my money to be refunded. I have been quoted fees, paid them in full, then received a bill weeks later for a significantly larger amount than was quoted SEVERAL TIMES. The most recent....quoted a $400.00 "cash" price. Paid in full at the time of the appointment....received a bill two weeks later for $2900.00 more. WHAT???? Forget trying to talk to a supervisor to resolve THEIR mistakes. No one ever calls you back. I can't believe they are able to run a business this way. And social distancing? Not even close. They had a waiting room FULL of people coughing all over each other on my last visit. This review is only for Beatrice L who goes out of her way to make sure patients are welcomed & treated with respect. She is extremely helpful. She understood my time is valuable. The radiologist is another story! I had the 1st appointment today; 8 a.m. At 8:30 a.m. I finally gave up and left because he still had not arrived. He clearly does not understand my time is valuable. Both my spouse and I have had diagnostic imaging here. Never going back to any SimonMed locations as their billing practices are terrible. They over collect for deductibles. Getting a refund is like pulling teeth. They actually had the nerve to send a bill for my spouse's PET Scan without including both our payments so I called them, sent them receipts, insurance EOB and pointed out that we overpaid and they owed us money. Well we're going on 6 months now without a refund. I'm really quite annoyed. It's bad enough that insurance cost are sky high--stingy medical providers that have shady billing practices make it worse. They over collected from us and also collected from the insurance. The Techs are fine, although my doctor didn't get my diagnostic report until weeks later and had to ask for it. read more

I just went in for a simple chest x-ray, and the tech (I think her name was Christina) couldn't find my name in her computer, so she had to call the IT person and for some reason, I was erased! And then when the IT person fixed that problem, she couldn't get my name on another computer! So she had to hand type it in. She spelled my name wrong, even tho she was looking at my paperwork!! Good thing I was there watching, I had to tell her how to spell my name!! This chest x-ray, which should've taken 2 minutes, ended up taking over 20 minutes. The tech seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. Very disappointed. I've had scans there with no problems, that's why I went back. I will think twice about going back again. read more

I was very impressed with this facility. Amanda, who did my x-rays was great. Found out we share the same birth date and that started other conversations. I love to ask questions and I had a question about the x-rays and he explained it to me in a way that I could understand. Truly a professional.
