Check in is "hit or miss" depending who is at the counter - have experienced warm and friendly and helpful; but also have experienced curt and no eye contact. Simonmed is the most horrible place to get X-rays. I try to make an appointment. I get the recording walk-in always and hung up! website states open until 7. I go to the Thunderbird location yesterday and I'm told the last X-ray is at 3 when the website states they're open until! WTH. I'm told to come back tomorrow before 3 and we can do your x-rays. So I go back to the Thunderbird location at 1:15 now told they can't do my X-rays at this location!! What!! I was told as long as I'm there by 3 I can get my x-rays!! Now I'm told there's not a technician available at this location. what!! again!!!! it's just a standard X-ray. so now I'm at the other location. 1st question. do you have an appt!! what again I'm told walk in only for X-rays. She states rudely. well it's an hour wait!! I don't care. I've already waited 3 weeks what an hour!! Simonmed is 120% the most terrible place I've been to. I brought my mom in for an appointment where she was supposed to check in at 8:15 AM. When we arrived, there were two people already at the front desk, so we sat down since my mom is disabled and can't stand for long periods. We assumed we would be acknowledged once the receptionist was free. Fifteen minutes passed, and it was already time for my mom's procedure. I finally got up to inform the receptionist we had been there on time. Her response was that this was the first she was seeing us, and she had no idea we were even there. I explained that we were sitting just a few feet away but she had been occupied the entire time. At that point, she was still struggling to check someone out -- a process that took about 10 minutes. As someone who has worked as a medical receptionist, I understand that things can get busy. But checking patients in should be a top priority, especially when timing is crucial for procedures. It's unacceptable to let patients--especially those with disabilities--sit unnoticed and risk delaying care. A better workflow and more awareness would have gone a long way in improving this experience. read more

Made appointment for open MRI, took off work, drove across town, only to be told that they can't do it because I have a pacemaker? Shouldn't they ask that upfront? Even put pacemaker details on pre-reg day before. Then they said they would call right back to schedule somewhere else, never did, and now can't reach pacemaker dept. X-rays are walk in only.. you call and their 800 number and they give you the location address and let you know they're open but you don't find out they aren't doin X-rays until you're there. People are waiting 2 hours on average for X-ray with one person ahead of them. Front desk is not helpful. The whole facility exudes depression. read more

It happened twice going in for exams I hand them both my insurance card, my primary and my secondary. They do not put my secondary on my account so then they tried to bill me for the secondary and then they go. We don't have that information. not only that you're dealing with outsource and you're getting people in a foreign country you're having to deal with I keep getting told after I give them the correct information that it will be billed and I don't have to worry I got up. This is your final notice thing in the mail. They need to quit outsourcing to foreign countries when you hand them both your cards they need to be in your file so they can bill both insurances. We arrived 10 minutes early for my wife's imaging appointment and checked in promptly. However, we ended up waiting 45 minutes without any updates. When I asked the front desk about the delay, they checked with a technician and informed us it would be another 45 minutes before my wife could be seen. There was only one other couple in the waiting area, and they shared that they had already been waiting for an hour and a half. If there was an issue with the equipment or a staffing delay, we would have appreciated being informed. Clear communication would have helped manage expectations and reduce frustration. read more

I came here for an MRI last year that was an ok experience. I needed a repeat to compare certain things, no problem. But when the second report came out, it said there was no previous scan to compare it to. Huh? I KNOW I was at the same location last year. Second, the second report said my gallbladder was "surgically absent". I know my body and I know my gb has never been removed. So I'm thinking they mixed up my scan with someone else or the radiologist is incredibly incompetent! I really don't trust them zero percent! read more

Let me start by saying I get annual mammograms in January. I started getting notices from Simon Med around November, everyday twice a day through my email and text reminding me to make an appointment. What a nuisance! When I received the paperwork from my Dr. in December I went ahead and made appointment with Simon Med for Jan. 8th. I filled out health questionnaire through email. Even at that I was still receiving texts and email like clockwork twice a day to remind me to make an appointment. On the day of my appointment I again receive an email to fill out questionnaire. So I went on the site to fill in again, but then it read that it was already done. When I arrived at the 91st ave location for appointment I was told to fill in questionnaire!!!!!!! I explained I had already filled it in. The unhappy receptionist tells me they didn't receive such and I had to do it again. WTF? I was thankful for the radiologist tech that made up for the screw ups at Simon Med Imaging. She was so nice and professional. Don't think I'll be returning. read more

I have been to another location a couple of times. That location did not offer the imaging my doctor ordered. This location did, so I scheduled an appointment here. I was offered the options of a next day appointment, or 30 days out. Thankfully, I was able to jump on the next day appointment. Some scans require an appointment, and walk-ins are welcome for others. The waiting area is large, bright, and clean. Checking in was quick. There was a form to fill out before the scan. The technician who ran my procedure was efficient, professional, and had a kind bedside manner. She called me back 10 minutes early. I was back in my car by my scheduled appointment time. Throughout my scan, she explained what she was doing. I would return to this location. read more

If you value your sanity, do NOT schedule tests here!! They cancelled my test scheduled 12/24/24 at the eleventh hour. Now my new PCP wanted an MRI scheduled prior to F/U to go over numerous tests. This past Monday SM told me they had no authorization from Humana. They claimed Humana dropped the ball, not finishing the auth. I gave the CPT code to Humana. After hours spent calling my PCP, Humana, and SM, I was assured that all was good to go for my MRI tomorrow. This morning SM calls and says my test is cancelled due to no auth!!?? This screws up my PCP F/U next week. Thanks to all this I now won't get my tests done, the results, and be able to finally get answers from my PCP until sometime in August. I am livid, and will NEVER go to SM again, and will have all my records transferred. WHY are they in business?? read more

I had an X-ray done. A month later I received a bill for my $10 copay. I paid it online, and kept a record of it. A month later I get another bill. I called them and told them I already paid it. I stopped using Simon med because there was always an issue with them. I decided to try this location hoping for a different outcome. No such thing, I called for appointment, and I asked the guy on phone would there be a co pay, he said he would check, came back and said no co pay. When I showed up for appointment the girl at the desk said I had to pay, so either the guy making appointment lied or the girl at counter had no clue. Then I am told to send an email to info at Simon med which I did and have not received a response. Abhorrent and Atrocious customer service. I wouldn't even give it 1 star!!! I scheduled my first appt at this location and the day before the appt they call to tell me they have no techs, ok fine. I reschedule a week later, that's all they had available. The day of the second appt, 2 hrs before the appt they call me again, no techs available and the only open location is across town in Mesa or Peoria. I asked for a manager to call me...nobody did. The day of the 3rd appt, 30min prior as I'm literally in my car driving, the alleged manager calls me and tells me the machine is down and we have to reschedule. At this point I'm livid, the manager as she called herself was rude, condescending, and didn't even offer to send me elsewhere until I demanded it. The manager then hung up on me...HUNG UP ON ME as if I am the problem. I will never, never ever use Simon Med again. Look at the BBB reviews, you will see hundreds of similar complaints of machines being down and techs not coming in and reps or employees doing the same rude behavior...no matter what site you visit. Took my Mother for shoulder and hip x-rays on the same visit to Simon Med 4 weeks ago. When we met with the doctor to get the results, the only write up that was sent over to doctor was for the shoulder. Information on the hip wasn't sent over at the same time which caused us to make another trip. Seems information on hip X-rays didn't make it to doctor. I feel Simon Med as well as my moms doctor should have done a better job of being complete and having the required results. read more

Another downside for this Simon med Imagining... I had my Dr. send in for an x-ray on my chest. So they've been blowing up my phone to come in. Since x-rays are done on a walk in basis. It said hours of operation. That they were open until 9pm. So I figured perfect. Well apparently the x-ray technician gets off at 4pm and I arrived at 4:30pm. So if they could have told me on the phone about the hours. I would've came in earlier. Now I have to clear a morning or afternoon schedule to take care of this. So the x-ray tech can continue his/hers banker's hours... Can't see why they don't tell you this over the phone. Instead of wasting time and gas to only loose a 1/2 days wages to get this done on their time. read more

When I got there there was a little confusion about my testing but the receptionist took the time to speak to my doctors receptionist and get it straightened out. I had an appointment today at 1.30pm for a mammogram and ultrasound. I was told to check in at 1:15pm which I did. It is now 3:51pm and I am still waiting. After waiting for an hour, I asked the girls at the front desk if they knew how much longer I'd have to wait, they told me that because the ultrasound had to be first, I'd need to wait another 20 minutes. I was called to follow the girl back to get changed at 3:08pm and here I sit still waiting for my exams. I've been to other Simon med locations and I've never had this issue. I'm terribly disappointed that I spent all afternoon waiting for a simple mammogram and ultrasound. read more

I have 3 times to get thru, after 15 minutes wait, I get a scheduler, gave them all necessary information to include email, then, I get transfer to the Pt Pet/CT department, where I get dead silence. In addition, my wife is Deaf, how is she supposed to deal with this amazing system. I just want to make an appointment, for a PT PET CT test. And this is not my first appointment with them. I have no idea what they think they're doing. Neither do they. Controlling, rude, curt, disrespectful, petty... Honestly, I've found those who work as mall security who have more compassion than the people working here. There seems to be a total disconnect at SimonMED with regard to their medical records: you fill out the forms time after time; you give them your photo ID and insurance information, which they copy onto their records database.., but each time you go there, you have to give them the same cards, which they copy and store online. You fill out form after form, and each time you go there, have to fill out the same forms again... though the information hasn't changed over the 10 weeks that you've had appointments there. Worse yet, they're overly aggressive with the appointment check-in procedures: you have to give them almost your entire medical history each time that they text you to check-in for an appointment -- then give them that SAME information in writing each time you go there for a procedure or X-ray. They claim their records show that you haven't provided the information.,, so it begs the question: who is demanding the information when you "check-in" for an appointment? I was told twice before in the past 11 weeks I've been trying to have an MRI done that if I didn't answer their questions, my appointment would be cancelled. So I've given them this information in each of the 11 weeks that I've been trying to get a procedure done, and each time, I have to fill out the medical history forms that I've provided the information verbally. Worse, I've received their notification to call them to check-in for an appointment -- four times in the last 7 days -- and each of these four times, they want more and more information about my medical history... and have threatened to cancel my appointment if I don't provide it. Where did they hire these thugs from? Why do I have to check-in four times for the same appointment? Why? And this didn't happen with just one appointment: I've had four different appointments where you're forced to go through this interrogation concerning your medical history and when I've not responded to their demand that I call them to check-in, they cancelled one of my appointments. Their telephone staff harass you non-stop: in ten weeks, I've received 31 text messages from them. 17 Check-in for appointments; 8 cancellation of my appointment: 6 reschedule appointments. I first contacted SimonMED in late May 2023, and it's now the third week of August -- and each of the four appointments I've driven to have been cancelled by SimonMED after checking in personally for the procedure. Ten weeks wasted, and I still haven't been able to get a single procedure done. It's not my insurance; it's not been my compliance with their aggressive demands. These people clearly lack any idea of what they're trying to do... and talking with other in their waiting room, I'm not alone. Who is running this madhouse? read more

I am extremely frustrated and irritated with Simon Med with Surprise Location and this location, which is why I never even like to go to any Simon med but the fact that my doctor sent my order there for my mri I said well I guess I will go to Simon med, I have my appointment set for 9am on a Friday, they call me Friday morning to reschedule cause the mri tech called out so they had no backups so I was like ok fine I did one for the following day at 4:30 to a this location which is FARTHER for me but in order to get it done quick I agreed on it, Saturday comes I'm with my mom taking care of her all day cause she has cancer so I have to leave her to go to this appointment, I get there and they tell me they are CLOSED and that they decided to close early, I said closed why what about my 4:30 appointment that I had just rescheduled the previous day, how many times do they have to reschedule me for me to get my mri done, I left my mother for nothing!! And to top it off they didn't have another date available for another 2 weeks smh screw them im going to Banner imaging since that's where I wanted my order to go to in the first place. read more

I wore a mask to my ultrasound appointment, as I always do to any medical appointment. I have underlying health issues that put me at risk. The ultrasound tech, Kyanna, was not wearing a mask and when I asked her to, she refused. She left the exam room, slammed the door behind her, and returned in 10 minutes to say that it wasn't required by SimonMed, so she wouldn't wear one. She said my options were to go ahead with the ultrasound, with her unmasked, or reschedule at another location where a tech would be willing to wear one. Since I'd already waited a month to get this imaging done, I really had little choice but to go ahead. But it was quite an uncomfortable experience for me. I'm a retired medical professional. The patient's well-being has always been our top priority, and our own personal beliefs are never involved. That's what patients expect, and deserve. The disrespect and lack of compassion shown to me by Kyanna was appalling. Although SimonMed has elected not to require masking by their staff, if Kyanna had any decency at all she would have consented to wear a mask for the 10 minutes she was in close contact with me. She had no idea what my health concerns were, and honestly they're none of her business. If this is her attitude toward patients, she's in the wrong profession. To compound my distress at this experience, I had to wait for 50 minutes after the ultrasound for the radiologist to review the films and determine if additional images were indicated. I was told by another tech that SimonMed has a limited number of radiologists available to review films taken simultaneously for multiple patients, and a prolonged wait time is not unusual. This is unacceptable. SimonMed needs to address this problem and hire more staff if necessary, so that patients are not held hostage for an extended period of time. If I'd given up and gone home before the radiologist made his determination, and he indicated that more imaging studies were needed, my insurance would not have covered them. Although I have been going to SimonMed for these types of studies for 7 years, I will not return. Why would I subject myself to this type of mistreatment when there are other more professional imaging providers out there? It's a no-brainer. read more

Don't go to this facility. I needed a chest x-ray, nothing special. It's a walk-in only type of x-ray. A one hour wait. I waited and waited. After an hour I noticed people who had come in after me were being taken, so I asked if they had me on their schedule. They couldn't find it. I walked out. I will never go to Simon Med Imaging again. Banner Imaging is just as close and you can make same day appointments for a chest x-ray. I would rate Simon Med a -1 if I could. read more

I've been here many times for several procedures and they are always very accommodating friendly and professional. Lots of parking convenient locations and this location is on Thunderbird a little west of the 101. Lots of seating inside but I've never had a long wait except when I had to drink the barium. It's been one week since my CT scan with contrast and these pictures are current. I had a terrible experience with the tech. He stuck me 4 times to be able to inject the contrast, dug around each time, and cleaned so vigorously that it actually hurt. Just the alcohol swab, before the needle. I do have tough veins, but have never required more than 2 sticks and bruised like this. He also riled up so much fear when telling me how Metformin and the contrast cause renal failure and scolded me for taking my meds prior, when that was what I was instructed to do. I told him I'd be happy to keave and reschedule, he insisted it would be fine and told me to drink a gallon of water by bedtime (which is dangerous), and to avoid my medication for 48 hours. After doing research, it's protocol to take the med before and hold off for the 48 hours afterward. None of the other hype needed. Furthermore, I reached out to the site manager Angelica. She apologized and said she'd talk to him and follow up with me. I haven't heard anything more, and don't expect to. But the whole situation is discouraging. I think I'll opt for a different location next time, might have better luck there. read more

I called 6 times and each time I was transferred, I either was transferred to the wrong department or was cut off.
