Let's start with the scheduling process. This is outside the scope of the Santa Clara office but it's still on them. 2 different appointments and both were messed up by being scheduled at this location. The first was not their problem but the second? I got reminders multiple times including the day of and I show up and they've removed me from the schedule without any notification. When I showed that I had multiple calls from the simonmed confirming the appointment but zero from anyone canceling the appointment the front desk person said that the tech wouldn't have made a note unless she actually had called me. The scheduling process is a joke as the call center all appointments go to is completely overworked and the AI/automation is ridiculous. If an order goes to Simonmed you'll get automated calls and messages non-stop and if you answer the phone it will put you on hold and then a human will answer you and say something thanking you for calling them. None of their data is accurate or connected so when it came to scheduling my MRI and verifying the specs at first the individual claimed that I was calling the wrong imaging company even though the automation had verified my details already. For the MRI, the guy was kind and helped me get my appointment rescheduled to the right location. For this second appointment, the ultrasound the receptionist was not good and it's the second time that the system failed and the people made a decision without ensuring I was informed to cancel my appointment and they did it in a way that didn't fix the automation. In this case and the reason I'm reviewing is the experience was so poor and I felt like I was getting blamed for showing up. Apparently a Muscular skeletal ultrasound is something that 'only a guy in Gilroy who is not on the schedule in Gilroy can do but they aren't sure about it'. See attached reminders I received in email and text. As others have mentioned the office itself seems pretty rundown. I don't know about the quality of the machines since I failed to receive the booked service. The MRI guy seemed nice. They will try to upsell AI analysis automatically so be prepared to override that and decline it as insurance probably does NOT cover that and will make your bill more expensive. (On the mri appointment I was quoted something that didn't match and I declined and then was told that they didn't have availability of the machine to do the MRI anyways ) read more

Avoid SimonMed for any imaging needs because: 1) They randomly reschedule patients appts without contacting the patients first. They reschedule as they wish for their own convenience. 2) They don't respect patients time. They assume patients can come to appts whenever their appts are rescheduled to. 3) They don't value you as their patients Details: I have my two back-to-back imaging orders scheduled, so I don't need to go there twice separately. Called SimonMed twice in a week to re-confirm my appts were all set. Suddenly I received a text saying that one of my appts was rescheduled out of nowhere (WITHOUT MY CONSENT). I called to find out what happened. They said their tech needs to go on a break. With that "unauthorized" change, my appts are no longer back-to-back. I was told they would not reschedule my appt again without my knowledge. I tolerated it and kept the appts. Within a few days later, I received a text saying one of my appts got rescheduled again and WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I called and the phone agent had no idea why. I asked to escalate, however, the phone agents are all in Philippines and they have no access to escalate to the local facilities in the US. To be fair, the phone agents in the Call Center were friendly, however, they didn't know why and had no control when the appts were rescheduled locally within the US facilities. All they were able to offer me was to reschedule my appts to another day , but they couldn't guaranteed that the appt won't be rescheduled somehow. This is RIDICULOUS & UNACCEPTABLE! They can't just reschedule our appts on their own and think we can go for the appts whenever they want us. Originally, I hesitated to schedule with SimonMed due to my poor experience with them a couple years ago at the Redwood City location (check Google Review for details). Due to insurance's high recommendation and SimonMed is in-network, I followed the process and thought I would give them another chance. Oh boy, that's a mistake and they repeatedly treat us poorly with all these incidents. In addition, I checked the cost and the estimated amount I received from SimonMed is 1/3 higher than other in-network facilities I checked. In short, don't recommend SimonMed. It usually isn't the only in-network provider. Check with your insurance for other in-network facilities and go elsewhere. Tips: if you pay out of your own pocket, make sure to check the cost ahead of time before the service is done. Don't let SimonMed disrespect your time and also take advantage of you financially. read more

They canceled my appointment 2x and the 3rd time I go in and the tech Lily and front desk lady Cynthia were discriminated against me and told me they will not see me after I told them they could not do their job right! They are unprofessional and don't know how to talk to treat their patients, no name tags. Worst place to go! I made an appointment at a different location and the tech Lily called that location and told them to cancel my appointment as well because she got in her feelings when I told her they didn't know how to do their job correctly and this was AFTER I been waiting for over a hour after my appointment, they didn't have n My insurnace even after I gave them it. Let's start by saying that the building itself was like an abandoned run down dwelling. Not just needing paint, doors locked, old urgent care facility with tons of garbage, yellow tape.. just didn't even look safe to be in... then I walked in after addressing three locked doors. Staff was friendly and waited my turn. When entering the MRI room I asked for a blanket because it was extremely cold. They told me know problem...however.. I asked 4 times before they left the room and they just started the MRI without giving me a blanket. I put my hand up to notify them. I clapped and was waving my hand watching the tech through the window.. he wasn't even paying attention. FINALLY, after 5 minutes.. no exaggeration... they came in.. gave me a blanket and then handed me a balloon like squeeze gadget to get their attention. This review is about SimonMed Imaging in general, not the Santa Clara center specifically. I've had a dreadful 1.5 weeks after making an appointment ordered by my doctor for an open MRI of my facial area. The first problem was an endless stream of voicemails and text messages urging me to make an appointment to get the exam scheduled! (WTH?!?!?) In the meantime, the pre-exam forms asked a lot of redundant questions. Then, there were the prep instructions, which included the impossible-to-fulfill one to wear 100% cotton underwear. (How would 100% cotton underwear stay in place without any non-cotton elastic?!?) Today was the end of the road. First, they sent me an email saying my appointment had been rescheduled from 10:45 to 11:15. Granted, that's only a half-hour delay but where do they get off rescheduling an appointment without talking to the patient first?!? They're acting like an airline, not a medical services provider! So, I took action! First, I called them up to complain about the redundant messages requesting that I get the appointment scheduled. They claimed they had two accounts open for me, each with a different spelling of my last name. (Couldn't their software detect that the phone number was identical for both accounts?!?) They claimed they'd merged the accounts now so all should be well going forward. A few minutes later, I called back to make sure I was really going to get an open MRI instead of a closed one, which I had been mentioning since I was in my doctor's office. The first person I spoke to said my appointment had been cancelled! The next and last Simon Med person to whom I spoke was somebody in scheduling. He said my appointment was still on (and he didn't know why any of his colleagues would have told me it was cancelled), for the new time they'd emailed me about this morning. He again stressed the importance of wearing only 100% cotton underwear. At that point, I decided to look at the Yelp rating for the Santa Clara facility and decided not to subject myself to anymore Simon Med Imaging incompetence! Nothing is perfect! except Bardia, the MRI Technologist. He is such a wonderful conversationist; I even forgot I was fearful of my procedure. He has a very calming and confident demeanor. He turned a difficult situation into a positive experience. So, remember when I said nothing is perfect, so now some constructive criticism of what can be improved upon. I completed my on-line registration, and it went well. However, the staff doesn't review the paperwork? It stated clearly I'm claustrophobic, but I was scheduled for a closed MRI. I arrived, and I had to be rescheduled. The receptionist was professional and kind, and she was able to reschedule me for that evening. I went home and returned in the late evening. With the day coming to a close, the waiting room felt sterile, cold and eerily quiet and desolate, like out of a horror movie. But as soon as Bardia called my name, I stepped into a different world. A WORLD I loved and didn't want to leave. Thank you Bardia! You are a blessing to SimonMed. Lastly, the report was received promptly by my physician. read more

To be clear ... the technician, Bardia is FANTASTIC! He was on time, helpful, polite and quickly got my MRI done - I would give him 5 stars The office is another story -- and they are lucky to get one star. It all started with the receptionist/ clerk Cynthia L, not showing up on time and being almost 90 minutes late for work!! That resulted in a number of people having to leave because they couldn't wait... and me being late for my next appt. The central number they give you is sooo aggravating- they never allow you to talk to the office where you will have your screening. Many times people do not show up for work and you drive all that way for no reason. There are an awful lot of people in there for the purposes of lawsuits/workers comp ... all feels very sketchy. read more

I found the intake person Cynthia to be incredibly accomodating kind and professional. There was an issue with my doctor's order and she rescheduled me for the next available apppointment and even started my check-in when I was running a little late. I found her to be exceptionally professional and very patient with not only myself but everyone that she encountered. Another young man's name that I did not get, but he was amazing as well. He had curly hair and was able to get me into the Los Gatos office when the 2nd appointment had a 45 minute delay and I could not absorb the technical delay in my schedule. I needed to get back to my grandmother. He also made sure that he printed out the address which is great because had he had not done so, I would have surely gone to the wrong address since there are two in Los Gatos. Sure there were delays due to technical issues but the staff was exceptional in every way. I was glad that I went to Los Gatos because their waiting room is nicer as the Santa Clara waiting room looks like what I imagine a holding area in a jail. Very bleak and depressing with drywall bubbling off the walls. But the people at this locations shine bright and are eager to help you. Now the technician PROS-Hepful friendly people CONS- Technical issues that don't make sense; A PACS system going down for more than 5-10 minutes. Spidey senses tingling...I personally feel that either a tech was unavailable or unsure of how to operate the CT scanner. For some reason, My Stanford doctor sent my MRI order to this company, indicated that he will get the MRI results sooner than those in Stanford MRI, So I was given the MRI exam order to SimonMed on 04/23/2026. Then on the same day, I got a phone call from SimonMed . I can't describe how frustration I am during the entire process of setting up my appointment. The representative from SimonMed is obviously not an native American, he can't speak normal English. Besides, he speaks like a AI, no stop and break in between words. I can hardly understood any sentence from his mouth. Plus, his accent is so strong, I thought he is speaking a different language.n It took me half hour to set up my appointment, since I totally don't know what he is talking, I barely guessed what he's asking, and not sure what my answers were correct. I ,then, later, found that SimonMed does have an online schedule system. I spent some time successfully scheduled for my MRI exam. At this time, I found he did scheduled me on the same day I scheduled, yet, he did it totally wrong: instead of scheduling an MRI exam, he put me under a consultation. In addition, he told me only time available is from 6:00pm to 11:00pm, which is unusually for a medical service. I would like some morning or afternoon time. He said, no space available on day time. Yet, what he said (if that is what he said) is wrong, I later scheduled the same day at noon time at the same location. I can't believe SimonMed let such an incapable employee doing scheduling job, may be this company contracted out to foreign countries for this function? I have never had any one did such a terrible job in communication with customers, it is a nightmare! My mother had an CT and MRI exam. She had schedule it for 10:15am they got there around 9:45 am and checked in. As they were waiting to be called they were moving her appointment around to 10:45am and then back to her original time. There was no one but, my father and her in the waiting room at the time. My parents are elderly and they tried speaking to the ladies up front about it but, one lady was very disrespectful towards her and my father. Once she got called back in she politely asked if my father could join cause she doesn't feel comfortable alone with guy nurse. They denied her request and treated her with no care just rude manners she has back problems severely and needed to get a scan done when she does some nurses will treat with care and put pillows cause she can't lay flat. When she tried explaining to them that, he began to be disrespectful and make fun of the fact she can't lay flat. Read these reviews first. I didn't and I'm sorry about that. I was rescheduled for a 10 minute ACA test due to overcrowding at a location that was also dealing with a plugged toilet line. On the day of my rescheduled appointment, I checked in early at 11:35 as requested. I then waited and watched as the two other people in the waiting room were called in. One receptionist took lunch, the tech I suspected would run my test, went out to pick-up his lunch, and when that tech returned with his takeout, he grabbed paperwork and went back to his room. The other receptionist then left for lunch. After waiting an hour and fifteen minutes, I asked what was happening and was told that the tech must have run over and "couldn't see me before lunch". With both receptionists back behind the desk, the tech came out and called the person who had just checked in. This led to a flurry of conferring between the two receptionists who then ignored me when I walked up to ask again when I would be called in. They finally looked up and told me they had a "software issue." They called back to talk to the tech and confirmed that I would have to wait at least another 15 minutes after the previous patient finished before I could be seen. I waited 1.45 hours for a 10 minute test. There was no way I was going to wait longer. I should have been called back before the tech took lunch. That guy got a 1.5 hour lunch. I have worked as a dental receptionist. I understand how to communicate a schedule and I also know that you finish work before taking a break. Why have receptionists if you don't rely on them to actually communicate and keep to the schedule? The way SimonMed ran things, you might as well have a tablet out there instead. Why offer appointments every 10 minutes if you cannot stick to a schedule? read more

It was my first time visiting SimonMed Imaging, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. It took me over half an hour to make a reservation by phone, answering numerous medical questions, but later I had to redo everything online. I also noticed a name spelling error in their system that I was unable to correct. Although I had already submitted my doctor's order online, the assistant at the Santa Clara site told me that my order was not completed. She suggested rescheduling, even though I had already taken the time to drive there. I called my doctor's office during the visit to resolve the issue on the spot, but the assistant--who seemed inexperienced--was unable to update my name in the system and delayed my check-in while moving on to another patient. From what I observed, it took her about half an hour to check in each patient. Due to the unprofessional and inefficient service, I decided to cancel my appointment, as I lost confidence in the quality of their staff and technicians. Based on this experience, I would not recommend SimonMed Imaging and suggest choosing another imaging provider instead. read more

The technician and staff were very helpful and friendly. The MRI process went smoothly and was exactly as explained. They expedited my results in six days so I could make my doctor's appointment. I requested my images via email, and the CD arrived in the mail within a week. The only drawback was the locker room--although secure, I would have preferred combination locks for added convenience. read more

The waiting area is pretty dingy. At least they had a TV but I had some DMV vibes. It really looked like they put minimal efforts here. Wait time wasn't too bad and the staff was courteous, both in the front office and the technicians for the MRI. Despite them taking a copy of my insurance card, they billed the wrong insurance provider, and then sent me a bill saying my claim was denied. In the future it would be better to double check these sorts of things. read more

I need an open MRI because of severe claustrophobia and there are not a lot of place that have them, when I made my appointment I specifically requested one. I arrived on time only to wait 40 mins to be taken back only to find out they were not putting me in an open MRI. SIMONMEDIMAGING SANTA CLARA/SAN JOSE On 10/23 (Wednesday) my mother had an X-Ray appointment in Santa Clara facility, after checking in 45 minutes we were told the technician was having issues with the equipment. We waited a total of 2 hours with no service. We were told that the machine was giving the technician issues. I later contacted (10/24) manager Maribel, who was professional and said that the office over booked in other procedures hence my mother's X-Ray couldn't be done. This is the second (2) issue we had with said business. On October 16, 2024, in their San Jose location we had an appointment and were told that their X-Ray technician did not show up for work and all X-Rays were being cancelled. I booked an appointment last week to do an MRI. When I called to make the appointment they took down my insurance information and told me it would be covered. Today I showed up to my appointment and they told me the appointment was cancelled because they needed my insurance information to authorize the scan. They never contacted me to say my appointment was cancelled. I even have an email they sent the night before, to confirm my appointment. When I logged in the portal THIS morning, my appointment still showed scheduled. So tell me why the receptionist told me my appointment was cancelled... I took the day off work for this. Worst experience ever!! They ask you to get to the appointment 15 minutes early to check in. I arrived at 10:40 for an 11:00 appointment. At 11:43 I asked if there was a problem? The girl at the front desk informed me that they only have one MRI machine and it would be approximately another 20 minutes. At 12:05 I was finely called in to get the MRI. DO NOT!!!! use Simon Imaging in Santa Clara unless you enjoy watching the Family Feud for an hour and 20 minutes. Not sure how my private hippa information was leaked to SimonMed, however the day my physician ordered medical diagnostics; someone from SimonMed called me and offered to save money for me and my insurance company on my specific diagnostic test. Suffice it to say, their scheduling system was chaotic and I spent 4.5 hrs Friday afternoon/evening on on-hold and dropped calls; despite it being a Memorial Weekend, they offered an opportunity for a scanner on Sunday and due to the urgent need I accepted it and cancelled weekend plans. Unfortunately, Sunday at noon my appointment was cancelled. I didn't reschedule w/SimonMed because of chaos and went to my primary HMO who did an excellent job. To clarify, I did not receive service from SimonMed, I just received a run-around that took about half-day and cancelled weekend plans to not achieve what I needed done. read more

Came here for some imaging. This (front office) is by far, the most unorganized, dysfunctional and chaotic medical office I've ever been to. First off, while I had a documented appointment, the facility had no record of me or the appointment upon arrival. I spent an hour trying to straighten it out. There was only one person working the reception and lots of patients waiting or in line. The receptionist kept stating "I'm not from this facility" as an excuse for her incompetence...everything from not being able to receive faxes to not being able to find records or where anything is kept. After an hour, she finally straightened things out, found my appointment and rescheduled me for later in the day. Then, I kept getting txt messages that my appointment (which I was on my way to), was delayed by more than an hour Complete zoo!! I had a very good experience at this Imaging center. Check-in was effecient and the wait time was short. My tech was Bardia and he was great! I was very nervous and he went above and beyond to calm and reassure me. He really understands how tough these MRIs are for patients like me who are a bit claustrophobic - and that made all the difference in the world. Go there and they ask you to schedule an appointment coz its a 3 hour wait. You don't get to speak with a person regarding x-ray scheduling. So I'm driving to the Los Gatos facility and as I'm parking, they call me that the technician has already left, "go to Santa Clara (they def. have availability)". Get to the ghetto that is the Santa Clara building and they tell me to wait a couple of hours. Its stuff like this that gives medical care in the US a bad name. I just want to say how appreciative I am with my MRI Tech Bardia. He is absolutely amazing, kind, patient, highly skilled. I am incredibly claustrophobic he did the open MRI and I was also concerned because I have a movement disorder and was afraid I would move during the exam. He went above and beyond to help it run smoothly and keep me calm and comfortable. If you get an MRI ask for Bardia. I hope Simon and Med realizes what a great asset he is!
