They did put me on a cancellation wait list and did call with a followup. The facility was easy to find, with plenty of parking. When I arrived, I was immediately summoned to the front desk where I got the business completed. It was a friendly and easy process. After being seated, I was called in at my scheduled appointment time. The young lady was very friendly and did a skilled job at inserting my IV. My MRI tech was also very friendly and communicated constantly during the MRI process. Everything they did was well planned and executed. The email says " there is a $150 cancellation fee for new patients who do not show up at least 30 minutes early". WTH!! I called to get clarification on the appointment time because I'm a new patient - so shouldn't my appointment time some of that and because I am working - with only 45 minutes drive time prior to appointment. Radiologist Dr. Wang missed an obvious 4mm urethral stone (calcification) on my CT scan, despite…read morethe order indication being for urinary symptoms. It was exactly where much of my pain was, and this stone wasn't moving. I tried to ask the staff to get the radiologist to take a second look, but I was told that the requesting doctor would need to put the indication on the order. But wasn't that already done? This is gross negligence on the part of the radiologist. What if I had been some poor old guy without the technical know-how to figure this stuff out? What if I didn't have the persistence and patience needed to get a second opinion from this kafkaesque disaster that is our medical system? Might have been suffering for the rest of my life, with added complications to boot. I was considering giving an extra star for the wait time being quick, but it doesn't make up for the amount of time I had to waste with the wild goose chase of finding out what that unreported artifact was at the site of the symptoms. When confirming the arrangements he specifically asked that the Anesthesia services be provided by an IN-NETWORK provider. In November we received a notice from his insurance company that the Anesthesia provider, BARKAI, PLLC was not in network and we would be responsible for the $3,000 charges. We have been told by email from bhsocialresponseteam that the issue was forwarded to billing department. Meanwhile, my husband's credit rating has dropped 50 points and we are still being billed for these charges.
