Dirty place, nothing fresh about their baked goods, what little there was anyway. The couple of cakes they had were one layer and looked like a 2 yr old frosted them. There were a couple of cupcakes and a peach cake that looked store bought. They had some bagged cookies that were overpriced ($8.60/ lb!). The girl behind the counter was a real piece of work too. If I had to guess, she's a bakery assistant by day, gang member groupie by night. So much for hoping I might have an alternative to supermarket bakeries nearby. A classic bakery with the most amazing sugar cookies and peach cake ever!

I want to give Simon's Bakery huge props for coming though on such short notice. 10 days ago, I ordered a sheet cake from another Bakery only to find out that they will not be able to fulfill the order and giving me only 24 hrs notice. Since I work in the same shopping center, I quickly went up to Simon's and they graciously helped me out with a sheet cake and even better they were able to accommodate my desired decorations to boot. I went in with little hope that I could get a cake for 45 people for my wife's surprise 40th, and they delivered. Crisis resolved. Came to visit family from Texas. I've had these sugar cookies before and have tried to get them shipped. They wouldn't ship. :(. These are the best sugar cookies I've ever tasted. Thin & crispy. If you like thick & gooey this is not your cookie. I bought 5 dozen to take back home. Im told the donuts are very good as well. read more

This place was a great find. If you like old time bakeries then this is a place worth checking out. From the outside you could not tell this bakery makes so many delicious items. I'd highly recommend the marshmallow donuts, but you must get there early or they sell out quick! read more

Nothing special. I've had better. The pineapple upside down cake was disappointing, very dry and bland. The carrot cake was good. Reasonably priced cakes by the slice. The sugar cookies taste like your average store bought sugar cookies. read more

Growing up, pastries from Simon's was a regular Sunday morning treat. THE DANISHES. We actually served the famous sugar cookies at my mom's wake, that's how much my family loves Simon's. When I got married last month, $160 at Simon's bought enough dessert for 110 people, and it was all delicious and exactly what we expected. read more

We are so impressed by it's taste. As Japanese, many sweets here are usually way too sweet to us. However, this cake carries suitable sweetness as well as freshness of peach. Peaches are not caramelized or canned peach; they use fresh peach to bake! So that sweetness we taste is actually from peach which is irresistible sensation in our mouth. Overall a great little bakery. These are my favorite items: sugar cookies that are super thin, PEACH CAKE, pineapple upside down cake, Danishes, and donuts. The store always has an interesting front display which adds character. We really need to support these small bakeries. It's a shame there are fewer and fewer of them around. read more

I would give this bakery a 3.5/5. I love small classic bakeries and I hope this one does business for another 50 years. I bought Croissants and the famous sugar cookies. The croissant were fresh out of the oven and were delicious (8/10). After reading all the great reviews about their sugar cookies I decided to give it a try. The cookies are crispy .. just the way I like it but they are just tooo sweet for my taste. In fact my wife, my brother and sister in law all agreed that the cookies were way too sweet. Other than that , this is a great bakery and I would love to see more such bakeries doing business in this area selling hot fresh bread every morning. read more

Came in on a Tuesday morning for a dozen donuts. There was no other customers at that time and I was able to quickly get a mix of glazed and chocolate covered donuts at $1 each. The staff was friendly and helpful and the donuts were very fresh and tasted great. read more

Peach cake in season is rightfully voted the best in Baltimore. That's the only thing I buy there but I do buy often! At 6.50 not the cheapest but worth it. But have to wait until peach season us in full swing. read more

This bakery has been our entire family's go to bakery for as long as I can remember. My mother took us there when they were in Parkville. I have taken my kids there and they are grown now. I have not read any mention of their cheese pastries. They are the best ever. They have been at our family baby showers, first communions, my neice's wedding my office staff meetings. I cannot say enough about them. We go as often as we can and hope they are open for a long time to come. Kudos, Simon. read more
