This review is for massage only, though my introduction to this place was from a long-time chiropractic client. Just booked my 4th massage with Jeremy and could have sworn I reviewed earlier. Jeremy is my newish regular massage therapist. He is an extremely intuitive healer. I exercise regularly and sit at a desk daily and carry so much tension throughout my body. It doesn't help that I have plantar fasciitis as well. Besides his massage services, he offers up a few stretching exercises for me to try at home each time I come in and they have all been beneficial. Prices are more than reasonable as well. I went for a massage recently and had a pretty poor experience. It was my first time here, and I won't be going back. I'm not sure what the guy's problem was, but he was hostile and overly aggressive. He lacked communication skills, didn't give me a full body massage and the time was short. When the massage started, I was a little shocked. I've never had anybody push down on me so hard, and I've worked with lots of different massage therapists. I literally couldn't breathe for a few seconds. He continued with extremely strong pressure and didn't check in with me until at least 15 or 20 minutes had passed. It's improper to push so hard on a first-time client. He seemed to get more aggressive as the massage went on. The second side of my back was very painful. Even though I kept jumping and saying Ow, he kept it up. I had to repeat myself multiple times. There was a spot on my leg that was incredibly painful. I asked him twice what was going on with my leg, he didn't respond at all. He never massaged my arms or the front of my legs or front body at all. Like he skipped it entirely. This was a 90-minute massage. Plenty of time to get to the whole body. When he had me turn on my back, I got a charley horse in my foot. I told him multiple times, and he didn't move. He just continued to sit at the top of my head in complete silence. I had to sit up and massage it myself. Huh? Instead of massaging the front side of my body, he started doing super aggressive stretching of my arms and legs, as if this were a gym training session. He continuously pushed way past the point of pain, and I had to repeatedly bend my leg so the muscle didn't tear. He was pushing and pulling so hard that at one point, I thought the table might collapse. He then abruptly ended the massage by dropping my legs and feet hard onto the table, saying, "That's it," and walking out. He set his clock fast about 10 minutes, which I did notice when I entered. I arrived early 10 minutes early, but the clock made it seem that we'd started late, when in fact, we hadn't. He stopped at the time the clock showed time up, even though it was 10 minutes fast. Very unfortunate and poor experience. read more

I had been in a car accident November 2023 and after all my appts with several doctors and my pain management, i was feeling that this was my life now. I was wrong, i cane to see Bob and just WOW. I would wake up with painful throbbing arms and my sleep has been disrupted for over a year due to pain, but i finally can sleep and wake up with almost all that discomfort gone. Given, i do have to do my part of workouts and stretching and just overall help myself. But the way he just aligned me was amazing! I feel so much relief! So I gave Bob a few chances and he just couldn't stop talking about his balls, and how he didn't like his mother in law folding his underwear because his balls touch them. Him and a pregnant PT that was to be seen after me were openly discussing their disgust with a stranger on the streets body, they felt they shouldn't gave to see their rolls/fat shaming etc.. and Bob makes disparaging remarks about Native Americans being depressed alcoholics. Real classy guy! If you read further down you'll see why he has his staff ask if the appointment went ok because " Bob can be a bit much." Five stars goes to my all time favorite masseuse Antoinette! Bob the chiropractor is located in downtown Long Beach, where street metered parking can be tough to find during certain parts of the day. Two separated businesses, the check-in and chiropractor are located in the main entrance and the massage rooms are located in the adjoining location. I have tried a couple of different masseuses, but Antoinette has become the family favorite. Strong hands if you need it and less pressure if you don't. She takes the time to listen to your concerns and adjusts each visit to your needs. She is personable and picks up instantly when you just want a quiet massage. 2.5 STARS Front staff are great on some days and just ok on others. Do not let them hold onto your massage stamp card, that let's you get a free massage after a certain amount of visits. They lost mine and the receptionist could have cared less. Didn't even offer me another. Had to wait about 30 mins on a recent visit to see Bob. Felt it was a little inconsiderate. He seemed personable and honest in his assessment. I know others love him, but the long wait and a lot of talking doesn't work for me. I won't be back to see him. read more

Where do I start? Bob's business came strongly recommended to me by the neighborhood. Long Beach knows him. Anyone can post on the Long Beach Facebook page, and his name is immediately brought up. It finally came my turn for his need. First came the massage for what I thought was just a pain in the butt shoulder, and and overall "treat yourself" moment. A week later, the same area screamed at me "TAKE CARE OF ME!" So... I walked over to Bob, who honestly was like: "So uh, this isn't something I can fix, you gotta put in the work for the muscles, and be patient." He's not like the chiropractors who show you all these flashy lasers and tools to get you to spend your monies, knowing they can't help you specifically. He gives a rats butt about you, and your wallet too. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you, Bob. When my trapezius stops being a lil pain in my butt, I would love to be adjusted normally, because that is good to do. But in the meantime, the ladies who have the magic hands, go see them. If you're reading this and wondering about them, I cannot recommend them enough. I walked in feeling like I was not in my body, and unable to move properly. I'm now a happy lil noodle. *sips water* They actually focus on areas you need, and have knowledge of how to work on them, and genuinely seem to care how you're doing. It's like... I finally decided to get my butt in gear and go see Bob the Chiropractor for an adjustment. The process was fairly simple; I booked my appointment went online, a couple days before my appointment, I was received a health questionnaire, filled that out, voilà... that's it. My appointment was this morning at 11:30 and I tell you, it was the BEST decision I've made in a very long time. The most important thing about my experience today was... I can turn my neck. I can move my body and there's little to no pain. Wow!! Who am I!? Lol Before we began, Bob asked me some questions about what brought me there today. Pain. Back. Neck. Shoulder. For the initial treatment, I laid down on the massage bed, it had a roller that started from my ankles then slowly worked it's way up to just above my head then back down again... I can't even explain it but believe me, it wasn't the same type of roller they have at the nail shop. I've never experienced that before. My body stays in the tense position; sometimes I catch myself and I remind myself to relax, like, "we're just watching TV, what are you doing..." I was so relaxed after that massage bed I had no voice Lol Next, the adjustment... this was my first time and Wow. The click and clack. My brain wasn't ready but my body said "Oh my..." For the first time in months, honestly, I can comfortably turn my head to the right with no pain. My neck, my back and my shoulder feels so much better. I'm committed to going twice a month for an adjustment and at least once a month for a massage. I already made my next appointment. Side Note: Bob the Chiropractor is CDC compliant. Masks were worn by Bob, Employees and Customers. Hands washed/sanitized throughout the service. Hand sanitizer available for customers. I highly recommend Bob the Chiropractor. 5 Stars. Now I now why he has 5 stars. First of all, it is a great area this place is located in. Easy parking, no hassle. I took my dad for a consultation and adjustment. There was little to no wait when we got there for our appointment. The place was very welcoming. Bob explained us in detailed what could be causing my dads lower back pain. Came here 4 - 5 years ago and he's always been so fun to talk to and he's funny and really cool! I haven't been to another Chiropractor ever since. But man...have I never needed a chiropractor more than ever during this covid pandemic! I pulled my back a couple weeks ago. Had to go to the ER because Urgent Care wasn't accepting my insurance. Well, after some muscle relaxers and strong ibuprofen, I was able to sit down and stand up without pain but still has muscle spasms and soreness and tenderness back in my lower back. My friend took me to her dad's acupuncture place in Ktown and it helped a lot too. Didn't realize Bob had acupuncture AND massages! What?! All-in-one!!! I'm coming here for acupuncture next time and the massages! Came in today, he remembered me! After all these years?? And he asked about my son. Awwwww! Such a cool dad and chiropractor! He let me chill on the massage rolling table, which felt sooo good! Then adjusted me & I feel almost 100% better! He recommended icing my back and to stop doing squats and strength training for a week or until it got better. Lol! Ok, ok... I'll just go get butt implants then. Thanks, Bob! You rock!!! Anyone in the need of good chiropractic services should look no further than Bob. He charges $50 for first visit, followed by $35 for any follow up visits. I found him when I was living in Long Beach, and in the need of a chiropractor because of a lower back injury from work. After my first visit I felt worlds better! Now I try to visit once per quarter, as I always feel better after getting an adjustment. He has a great laydown massaging machine. It heats up your back and massages it at the same time. After 15 to 20 minutes of that, Bob will bring you in his office and adjust you accordingly. Not only does he know what he's doing as a chiropractor, but he's incredibly personable and very very funny! He always has me laughing every visit. I moved to Culver City, which is pretty far from him, but I still drive all that way if I need chiropractic work. They also offer massages, but I have never had one so don't know how good they are. read more

If you want a cheap visit then Bob's a good deal. If you need him for anything more it's not worth it. My family and I were patients for a few years and after our car accident we didn't return. He doesn't like being involved in anything more than a quick visit. Also the constant ridicule for being over weight after having my son was ridiculous. I was in constant pain and wanted help in relieving it. Dr Bobs adjustments are quick and rough generally. Soon after it turns out I have CHRONIC untreated Lyme disease for over 40 years. Untreated because of other stupid doctors just like BOB telling me im fat because I eat wrong. After over 30 years as an athlete I know how to eat and I am disciplined. Also the lyme wore out my adrenal gland, and my thyroid. I'm clinically hypothyroid and Addisons Disease. Thanks BOB, you're just a peach. read more

Firstly this is the friendliest office anywhere and they provide amazing care services, besides the Chiropractic they offer massages next door. I have had several over the years and yesterday I had one with Rebecca and oh boy the best massage I've ever had! Her technique is quite unique, she presses gently on the nerves and tendons instead of rolling over like 95% of therapists do, I could feel my knots everywhere she was pushing and great relief, once I got home I slept for two hours in the middle of the day! I was really looking forward to seeing Bob doe the first time today. Did my research and he sounds good. But I'm rational and science based. So I'm out. When a healthcare professional says that the actions that the US is FINALLY taking in response to Covid19 are over reacting -- I'm out. We missed the boat on testing -- too little too late. I'm not interested in a folksy guy who doesn't believe in CDC guidelines. He should have been ahead of these-- not trailing behind and dismissing them. I walked two miles to my appointment -- literally past boarded up restaurants. Too much caution? Bob thinks so and I dont. I guess he believes in his hunches as superior to fact and CDC recommendation. So DID Mr. Trump which is why don't have testing today. He's obviously very gifted at scrubbing bad reviews What's hard to believe isn't accepting the CDC recommendations -- it's Bob's review average Finally -- healthcare professionals should now be reinforcing what the CDC has clearly put forward-- NOT undermining this by stating that it's overreacting.
