I sold clothes here for the first time recently and had such a great experience! The sales associate was super kind and explained the process to me. One thing is that they don't call or text to tell you when your bin is ready - like other resale shops do - but I didn't find that to be a huge problem. They processed my bag pretty quickly. I brought in a giant bag and they only ended up buying 4 items BUT I feel like I was very fairly paid for the items they purchased. Sales girls are extremely rude. They laugh and carry on loud conversations at the front desk. When they stop to help someone they act like it is an inconvenience. They tell you its beneficial to wait while they process the items you bring into sell because if you leave, those sellers that come in after you and wait are moved ahead of your batch. BUT they do not send you the promised text nor do they put your name on the white board by the front when your bin is ready for pick up. There is no notification that you can pick up your items. I was there over an hour waiting. Then they told me it was my responsibility to check with the front if I dont hear from them after telling me they would send a text and put my name on the white board!!! Then when I picked up my items they had waded them up and thrown them in mt bin instead of folding them nicely like I had them when they were brought in. Management needs to train their employees in customer service or find some decent employees. I sold all the items that they said were too out of style at a high end consignment store the next day. None of the items I brought were worn or spotted. They told me they only take clothes that are in style in the last 3 years...I don't know where they have been the last 3 years but their racks are full of out dated, no style, ugly, cheap clothing, stained clothing (ie white shirts with yellow armpits) and sweaters with fabric piling. I saw a skirt on their rack which is the same skirt, I wore in high school 50 years ago (not in the last 3 years like they claim)! Extremely disappointing experience. read more

If a customer comes in and they choose to wait on their items that they are trying to sell, it would be quite beneficial from a customer service standpoint that you would notify that person that your text message system is not working. Instead of allowing that person to wait for an extended amount of time greater than 45 minutes for a text message. The store needs better customer service! read more

I took some items to sell, and the 12 year old "manager" judged me and not the items, refusing them without even looking. long story short, I sold a pair of Chanel sling backs for $150 and a Kate spade purse for $90 on eBay. and I didn't have to deal with a supercilious brat. read more

I have worked with someone there for years who happened to love my buys. However, I was in there today & the grotesquely large, snotty, over-bearing store manager yelled at some poor girl as she was trying to collect her buy. I overheard her telling this store manger to leave her alone. I looked over, & the STORE MANAGER was literally chasing this girl out of the store, completely forgetting any ounce of professionalis. This is sickening!!! Get a life. You have to be a psychopath to abandon your own store in that manner. You disagree me. I'm never buying ir selling anything with you. read more

Went in to sell items and was 3 minutes past the time they stop taking buys, which is fine I understand that, but the girl at the front was incredibly rude. She walked up, looked me up and down like she was annoyed and said "we stopped taking buys at 6" then just turned around and walked away while I was trying to ask a question. Definitely won't be buying or selling anything at this location. The ladies at the 96th street location are wonderful so take your business there! Worth the drive to be treated well! read more

Oh my gosh! I can't say enough great things about this store. The store manager and another staff member who helped me, and I can't remember their names , were absolutely wonderful. A nice variety of good clothes, good prices and lovely people. And today with their special sale, I left there with nearly $150 of clothing for work for $47. You won't be disappointed here! There really is something for everyone. It is now my go-to consignment shop and well worth the drive from Kokomo. Thanks ladies! read more

The clothing variety is actually very good. up to date styles and well organized. My only complaint is that the staff, though very friendly, many times complain about people who have just left the store or complain out loud about their work. This is the second time I've tried to sell clothes here and each time it's "oh we're only buying for summer." In the items I tried to sell this time there were 3 falls/winter items. They've also said "items are worn." well duh! I am not going to sell you all my brand new clothes." I would also love to mention the trash bag I took items in wasn't even opened!! I'm an anomaly in that I am a woman and I do not like shopping for clothes. I have, like, 40 pieces of clothing that I change up as the seasons change. Because I have so few clothes, I like to make sure they are quality pieces. And although I like well-made clothes, I'm also thrifty when shopping, so when I found Simply Chic, I felt like it was made for me. I found lots of new-to-me clothes, shoes and purses at very reasonable prices. And, it should be said, that this isn't Goodwill or a thrift store -- this is a very nice consignment store with designer and name-brand clothing. (If you're not familiar with consignment stores: They buy used clothes and resell them at discounted prices.) I'll be going back soon to fill out my cold-weather wardrobe. read more

There were two girls who honestly seem very miserable at their job. I am not disappointed in them not buying any of my clothes but I am disappointed that they didn't even go through the tote... I had brand new jeans, very nice condition but it seemed like because I wanted to stay and wait they were in a rush to go through things. Just made me really question why they are even employed if they hate work that much... for my first experience, they really made me never want to visit another one. I am giving it 2 stars because it was very organized and clean inside. A little hospitality in a retail shop would've been lovely though. read more

Created a Yelp account just to post this because I was so disappointed. Went to sell some clothes the other day that were in great shape and were all from good brands just to be told that they were "too worn", "too many years out of season", and "not good enough". Keep in mind that the majority were items all purchased in the last year and a half. The next day I realized that I was only given $15 for a $100+ pair of shoes with the tags still on and had never been worn. They are extremely cheap, the staff was dismissive and very rude to work with, and a lot of the item in the store are too worn, too out of season, and not good enough to want to buy. I was astonished at the items that they did not take versus the quality of some of the items in the store. After talking to friends about my situation I learned that many of them have been through the same thing at Simply Chic and have vowed to never sell there again. This is the first time coming to this location. I have been going to the location on 96th st for a long time and live shopping there. I was amazed how much bigger this location was! I had to go up and down EVERY row to check everything out! Very exhausting and time consuming but I was finding all kinds of wonderful items!! I went crazy! I thought their workout clothing was a little high but everything else was very reasonable! I even thought they had more in selections. Great little shop! I just recently was turn on to these stores by my co-workers. I love them! I have had great luck finding cute clothes, shoes, and accessories. I've actually came in this location twice, both times I've came in with higher end items, a lot of things with tags still on them, mostly things that were gifts I couldn't fit. Each time they didn't take a single item from me, I kind of lounged around the store and watched the employees look at one or two items in the bag and call me back to the front and say they couldn't take any of my items. It's actually pretty amusing the fake excuses they come up with. I don't know what the issue was, but I went to the 96th street location and they would take more than half of what I had. Probably won't ever go to the Carmel location again. read more

I have been selling items at similar resale stores like this for a long time and this shop was by far my worst experience. Everything I dropped off was folded neatly in a tote and all were of great quality from mid to high end popular brands. Upon pick up I received a 5 minute near dress down on the myriad of dings my offering had that did not meet the standards - most of which were incorrect and felt almost personal, like a lecture almost on how my efforts wasted their time. I received my tote back and the once neatly folded clothes were in a messily bundled pile atop one another and spilling over the sides (which then fell onto the floor and parking lot when I went out to the car). That part was the real stinger as I was told my items were 'wrinkly' and 'not fit to put directly onto the floor for sale'. Upon reviewing a majority of what they had to offer for sale even as you walk right in the door I would say your best bet is to bring in items that are flashy, blingy and full of busy pattern - think Sopranos and you will be in the right ballpark. read more

As a shopper, this place is great. However, I prefer other places as a consigner. The buyers turn down most of my pieces for "signs of wear," and I have no trouble selling them other places. I've been treated completely differently based on my appearance as well. If I am in gym clothes, they don't buy. When I am dressed up, they do. Exact same items. I've been told many times that they can't buy because of signs of wear, and the clothes were worn once if at all. Again, great store, but the prices are way higher than other stores in the area for the same type of items, and you'll make more consigning elsewhere. read more

Walked into the store at 7:55 PM on a Friday night hoping to do some quick shopping. Would've been in and out in 20 minutes. Was immediately told we're closing in five minutes. Picked up two items to try on, I walked toward the dressing room and was informed "we're closed." They literally locked the dressing room doors at 8 PM. I've never been treated like that at a retail establishment. Perhaps this is normal at a thrift store. read more

I've not had good luck the two times I've been in this location. I brought in several very nice dresses that I wore two or three times a piece, one dress that was brand new with tags on it, a top, and a pair of jeans. They turned all of my items down because of as another yelper mentioned "signs if wear". Out of all the items the jeans would be the only thing that I could agree with that statement on. The girl proceeded to tell me that I had lots of good brands but she wasn't going to buy any of it. And yes I know they have a right to turn down anyone for any reason. However, in looking around at their options of clothing that they had purchased I couldn't figure why most any of those items had been purchased. Most all of their clothing is dated, tired, and cheap. Which is sad to say because the items I brought in were middle of the road pricing and up. Several of the dresses I brought in were purchased for $200 or more. I brought them 2 pairs of Louis Vuitton's with dust bags and boxes and they offered me $50 for the pair. They were going for about $125 a piece used online in the same condition mine were in but without the boxes or dust bags. I love how they pep talk you out of the store by saying you have good brands that was the icing on the cake for me. Needless to say this store is laughable in what they claim is "worn". This place wreaks of mediocrity and dirty clothing. Save yourself the headache and buy new stuff. read more
