Size comparison to help explain the smallness.

I was wrong. I must admit it. They make a superior, simple cup of coffee. My first interaction and experience was not great, due largely in part to the barista acting haughty. However, since then I've been back and had a much better experience with barista's and though they do no syrups or anything, but it's lovely regardless and that's a part of it. A good cup of coffee doesn't need all that (though sometimes if that's what I'm craving I'll go elsewhere).

Was not greeted, just ignored. After looking at their menu and deciding, walked to the register which at that point we were told they have no expresso, only black coffee. They close at 5 but pretty much had packed up to close way before that.

Tiny coffee shop in the heights which specializes in various coffees from around the world. I am not sure how they decide on which coffee blend they are going to use to brew your beverage with but the day we went they were really in the weeds. There was only one person manning the shop. He was out of cups and saucers to serve for in house so everything was being served in to go containers. They have their pastries from Magnol so if you're a fan you must get those before they are gone! I wanted to get the opera cake but unfortunately it was super busy in there and I didn't want to take it to go. As the coffee shop is kind of small there were no empty seats when we arrived. In fact the parking lot is also very small so you will have to either get lucky to find parking or you can just park on the street nearby. Make sure to read the signs to avoid getting towed. As far as my latte goes I really liked it. The inside is very modern with large windows and lots of natural light. I would like to come back and try the other things. They are my type of coffee shop where they don't add any sweeteners and you actually get to enjoy the full flavor profile of the coffee.

I have been wanting to try this spot out for awhile! Very cute, modern and small inside. Parking is minimal, but I did park by the Club Pilates area. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. My friend ordered a latte hot, and we also got a nice little treat. Service was great and fast. Definitely a spot to come catch up with friends or even work.

I found this spot on Yelp and was intrigued by some reviews that had mentioned getting authentic matcha from this cafe. I've been on an adventure to try matcha from as many spots in Houston as possible, so I decided to give this place a try. I tried visiting a couple of times, but it was never open when I wanted to check it out. I eventually ended up in the area and decided to stop by. There is some parking available adjacent and behind the building. My first impression of the space was that it was narrow but well lit, with lots of natural light. When ordering, I double checked the menu and noticed that "matcha" doesn't stand out on the menu; coffee's definitely the primary focus. There were two matcha types listed, and I ordered an Iced Uji Matcha. When my drink was handed to me, I noticed how small it was. I hadn't asked about the size when ordering, and assumed it would be a standard 12oz drink. Given that I paid $10.20, I was extremely disappointed at how small my drink was. While the matcha tasted authentic, the color was very light and the flavor was quite mild. I wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone specifically looking for matcha. Even with authentic powder being used, it's hard to justify that price for such a small iced matcha. There's other places in Houston that offer authentic matcha at a much better value per cup. Also, the matcha at this location comes with an espresso shot, which I opted out of. I took pictures of my matcha, it looks different in each picture because of the lighting but it's the same cup of matcha in each.

This specialty coffee shop has been on my list for two years and I was finally able to come in while in the area during a weekend. They have a small parking lot but I went around the end of their weekend hours and got a spot quickly. I ordered the Panama Kotowa Estate "Kool Reserva" pourover as a 9 oz and if you like third wave coffee, you'll love this (or frankly any of their pourovers). They have a small sign near their menu that says they don't offer additives to their coffees (i.e., no milks and syrups) and I completely understand why.

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by for a quick coffee. Honoring the name, a simple cup of real coffee with none of the frills and dressing up or disguising the actual flavor that I crave in an authentic cup of coffee. From the 1st sip to the after taste, the owners truly understand what they are offering. Thank you again!

Iced mocha - 7/10 - Coffee was strong, mocha was very bitter for me but would be good for a strong coffee drinker Hot latte - 8/10 - For a regular latte with no flavor, the espresso quality was great, could taste the notes of dark chocolate This coffee shop is a specialty coffee shop offering different origins of coffee for strong coffee drinkers. They dont carry flavored syrups and focus more on the actual flavor and notes of espresso . Would recommend this to those who prefer stronger coffee.

Cappuccino - very good, and croissant (from Magnol)
    A G.

A cozy coffee shop with a warm vibe and a clear focus on coffee. Nick, the owner, takes pride in the place and takes time to explain the menu. The cappuccino was excellent--smooth with no bitterness. The croissants come from Magnol, another favorite of mine (though they've been doing a bit of shrinkflation lately). Parking is a bit tricky since the lot is small.

I came here to study with a friend for finals and I love the vibe here! Very cute interior and there is plenty of seating with outlets which I love. The staff were very nice as well. I already had coffee in the morning but I got a croissant and omg it was the best croissant i've had in a while!! It was super warm, flaky, buttery, and had so many layers. I am still thinking about that croissant as I am typing this. Their other pastries looked super good as well!! My friend got an Iced Matcha Latte with Uji. She said that it was good but might try another drink instead next time! We were able to study here for a few hours and the internet is very fast! I hope to come back the next time I need to get some studying done, get a drink, and get another one of their croissants! Definitely recommend coming here for your next coffee fix (:

The service/staff is very nice and friendly here. Their menu is simple and straight forward and it lives up to the name of simply coffie as they do not carry any adders/syrups to their coffee. If you come here expecting a a typical sweetened latte, you'll be let down so come with the expectation of just plain and simple high quality coffee. It is a little on the pricier side for the volume of beverage you receive and the parking lot is pretty small. You can enjoy your coffee in table ware at the shop or Togo in these cute mini cups. I probably would not return because it's just not my type of coffee!

It was nice and quiet so we felt bad bringing our 22 month old son since a lot of people seemed to be working. The staff was nice, but not overly helpful. The food and the prices were less than desirable. We ordered drip coffee, a hot mocha latte, two breakfast sandwiches (one with ham and the other with bacon), a blueberry scone, and a Greek style-phyllo party. The drop coffee was tiny for $3.49 (with $1.08 refill, seriously), recommend getting it in a to-go cup. Mocha was really good and a good size. The sandwiches were decent, but have had a lot better. Scone was decent, but nothing of note. Finally the phyllo dough pastry should have been their star, but it was soggy and barely warm. Asked them to reheat it, still not crispy as phyllo should be. Will I return? Likely no, unless I just want a mocha. With all the other coffee spots in the Heights, this isn't the start. Recommend going to Jane and the Lion or Angela's Oven if you're looking for a better experience with similar offerings.

For starters I'd like to think of myself as a bit of a coffee snob. It's one of those things that I can enjoy a multitude of ways, but experiences that go beyond plain enjoyment are few and far between. When I tell you...this is the best quality coffee I've had in Houston I am not bluffing! I've had both the Cashmere and Jade coffee, both hot and iced and they absolutely never miss. The drinks coming out of this place have been consistently fire, so this isn't some one-off shop with a good selection or two. Menu selections are impeccable. Drinks are crafted to absolute perfection. Lines do tend to be long but service is never lacking. Staff is polite and efficient. Not to mention last time I went in there someone was vibing to all the Drake hits which further contributed to the "hipster quality coffee shop" feels (biased preference I know haha). My beloved Boomtown RIP…read more This pains me to write. Different is certainly not always better, especially when what you had was already working. I much prefer the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. To the people who bought this place, I know your motto is "different is better," but please stop taking that so literally. You do not have to change every aspect of this place to make it different. The best thing about getting your everyday local coffee is seeing the same baristas you've seen over and over again, familiar faces who know you by name. This was one of those places where I'd hate to admit how much money I've spent here, and I did it happily. In just three weeks, our beloved spot, one I would willingly drive out of my way for, has gone so far downhill that I barely recognize it. From the eyesore taco warmer that practically knocks you in the face while you're ordering, replacing a space that once showcased lovely things like fresh flowers and local trinkets, to the disappearance of the wonderful local treats from Sinfull Bakery that kids genuinely enjoyed. At first I thought maybe you were just out, but after three weeks it became clear that expenses were being cut across the board and those items may never come back. And where do I even begin. The new oat milk is terrible. It completely changes the look and taste of the coffee and is immediately noticeable. I won't harp on the change of hours or the change in flavor of your coffee beans, but I feel it must be mentioned because, well, it's noticeable. And now the cleanliness. Spilled taco sauce all over the floor, and when your kid points it out, you know you're in trouble at that point. Dishes piled so high they're overflowing, dirty restrooms. And to be clear, this isn't the staff's fault, there is simply not enough staff to keep up with these things. Never ever in seven years of being a frequent visitor has it been this bad. I also noticed the new coffee packaging, and it's just another reminder that the heart and thoughtfulness that once defined this place are gone. At this rate I half expect robots handing me my latte in a few weeks so you can save a few more bucks. And getting rid of Toast. Even if Toast was an expensive platform to use, it was legitimately so convenient. And dang, if you're going to do away with it, don't replace it with the worst possible ordering system ever, one that doesn't even work. Do you know how many orders I wouldn't have placed if it weren't for Toast? Toast made those orders possible when I didn't have time to wait. Without it, I simply wouldn't have ordered. I understand times are tough for many businesses, but you all were booming. The new online ordering system doesn't work. You may as well do away with it altogether because this one just isn't it. Honestly, I am devastated. You knocked it out of the park in every area, cleanliness, service, food. I never had a single bad item on the menu. The coffee was beyond. When my family moved out of the city a year and a half ago, I still drove 35 minutes one way just to get your food and coffee, over an hour round trip again and again. I don't think you understand how this new direction has driven this place into the ground in a matter of three weeks. Sadly all good things must come to an end.
