I have been to this place a couple of times for pedicures, manicures and gel nails. I suffer from…read moreingrown nails and I emailed them ahead of time to let them know. I was told that I would receive special ingrown treatment. However, I ended up with the easthetician not doing anything about them. Yet, I was charged for the most expensive pedicure. The last straw for me was getting gel nails done in there. The technician had no attention to detail and sent me home with super thick and blotchy gel thumbs and pain all throughout my fingers. I did get a partial refund, but it was just so disapointing.

On September 1st, I sent an email to schedule epilation and asked for the price. They answered me the same day that they could not determine the exact price because it ranges from $125-$350. They made an appointment for me to come on September 9 and then they will tell me the exact price and that I can do the first treatment on the same day. In the evening after work, I saw the email and replied that September 9 suits me and that I will come at the scheduled time. The next day, they replied that I had 4 hours to respond to their email, but since I responded after a few hours, they already made an appointment with another person, and they can only receive me on September 16. I wrote to them, why didn't they tell me that, why didn't they mention the 4-hour deadline for an answer. I asked for a conversation with the owner or manager, to explain to them how unprofessional they are and that this way of doing business is zero. To this day, they have not deigned to answer my email, nor to allow me to speak with the owner. It's a shame that they do so unprofessionally and unorganized. It is unfortunate that such persons are paid for such irresponsibility and discourtesy. Firstly, they don't even know the prices, and secondly, they can't come up with the dates when and how to make an appointment. After my negative rating, the owner sent me this email: "This is the owner. I signed off as the owner when i picked up the conversation 3 emails ago. And if this was my staff you were speaking to this way i would not be so polite. Threats are not welcome here and because of these threats, you are no longer welcome here. Your barrage of 1 star reviews on Google speak volumes to the abuse you hand to businesses. Move on with your search. We will no longer respond to your communication."

I had booked a 1 hr massage, facial, pedicure and manicure along with brow threading. The lady that did my massage (name unknown) was very talkative and at first I was annoyed as I wanted to relax. She would explain what she was doing and asked if I was comfortable with pressure or being touched in certain areas. After a bit she started to explain my body issues as she was massaging me, how tight I was, the stress, too much coffee, lack of exercise, the need for stretching and how my body was showing me that I needed to lay attention to it more. She did this in a way that was not a put down but more of a realization. It was interesting and very informative. I love a deep massage and she was deep. She worked me to the muscle! She massaged areas others usually miss. She had me snoring a few times and I came out of that room a new woman. Giving her a 9 out of 10. Had a facial next by another person. Not sure what she did as there wasn't much explaining of the steps. It was so relaxing I fell asleep. Before we finished the last steps I got my eyebrows threaded and than the last steps of the facial was complete. Facial 8 out of 10 Eyebrows 6 out of 10 (I prefer my usual place and how they shape them) Next up was manicure and pedicure. Before we started I explained I did not want a manicure. I asked if I could get a credit to come back which I was told no. If I don't get it today than it's gone. That was shocking to me. So I asked for gel polish for my pedicure and they said they would do that instead. Not exactly the same cost value, but better then losing the price of manicure. (Yes it was a package deal but still thought a credit would be an option). Anyways had a lovely pedicure. Other places that I have gone to scrubbed the feet and worked on taking off the dry skin more than this place. Really loved my toes and how nice they looked. My heels were still rough. I suggest using a pumice stone to really work that area. The tools were limited in what they had. I would give a 7 out of 10 for the pedicure I did get a lovely green tea and samosa with chutney. That was really lovely and got a second serving of it all. The chutney was very good. Over all the experience was wonderful. It is pricey for most of the services and feel the best value was the massage. If someone wanted to give me another day at this spa I would not refuse.

Experience was good but not satisfactory. I've noticed that she did not take time in scrubbing my foot while my co-workers are getting their foot scrubbed and callus removed. You noticed that there was not even any flakes on the cloth she used for me because she did scrub them for a minute or less. I was observing how the other ladies are doing my friends' and they were all taking the time to scrub. I haven't had spa for years so there's no way that there's nothing to remove. I did not want to ask or complain as I did not want her to feel humiliated as everyone would hear for sure. It couldn't be possible that she forgot as she should be trained on how to do it and should take time to give an excellent spa experience. The place is very clean, modern, and comfortable except for the manicure section which is isolated and so tiny, it does not feel comfortable.

I had returned from a 4 month trip to a more humid climate (let's be honest, it is hard to go somewhere that isn't more humid then Edmonton) and was having trouble with breakouts on my face - I didn't know which facial would be best. But I didn't need to worry as the owner was able to tailor a facial specifically to my needs. I was very impressed with the results and feel that helped my skin adjust overall to being back in Edmonton. My favorite service is the pedicure. You can select between several options - I generally go with the Express Pedicure and then every once in a while spoil myself and splurge on the Signature Pedicure. They have the big relaxing massage chairs so the whole time your feet and lower legs are being pampered you can also be enjoying a back and neck massage. Mimosa also offer a membership for regular visitors - the membership has several benefits including discounts on all services so I think it is worth it even if you only go a couple times in a year. I was given a short form to fill out for my service, then I was lead into a different room for my service. The service I received was very good, the esthetician was very, very nice. I do not remember her name, but she had an Australian accent. She made sure I was comfortable, answered all my questions and told me exactly how to take care of my skin after the treatment. When I was finished, I felt relaxed and rejuvenated. I left the esthetician a nice tip because of her great service.
