I'm not so sure how the business received all "perfect" reviews. Maybe it used to be great before, but I haven't had good experience with this office since the hiring of new front office staff. They are no where near "customer-friendly." For customers, front-desk staff are their first interaction and I surely don't see it here. I'm not sure why the staff always seem to have an attitude and often raise their voice when speaking to clients. Their hours are not very accommodating either. Most clients needing orthodontist treatment are young students who are in school until 2:30/3:30. It's almost impossible to schedule anything later than 2:00. Also, if you're a bit late (10 min), they make you reschedule. Things happen all the time, and it's not our intention to be late. They need to understand that. Hello, it's me! I'm back after my initial consultation after 3 years. I started treatment with another practice which was quite a rough journey so I decided to transfer to SO! Dr. Shung and his team are very attentive and friendly. The staff are also very responsive, I feel like they genuinely care and want to help you achieve your smile goal. They even checked in on me after my appointment! Min was very helpful and attentive with the entire process, and super gentle scanning my teeth! I noticed the attachment is different for the placement of rubber bands they use (seems like metal) which is much more comfortable than the tooth colored attachments my previous ortho used which would scrape my mouth and would cause canker sores. Their method of removing attachments was more pleasant as well. You're definitely getting quality, service, and less pain here!! read more

So I never really thought about getting braces/Invisalign because 1. I'm old(er) at 36 yo. and 2. I'm pretty lazy and did not think I was going to be compliant enough to wear trays 20-22 hours a day. If you're old(er) and have the luxury of work from home, and you're wondering if you should commit - do it. It is EASY to do Invisalign when you're at home 75% of the week. ***From having THE best experience ever at an orthodontist to having my teeth breaking and bad issues after Invisalign treatment...*** It's taken me a long time to write this review and I'm sad to be giving Simply Orthodontics this rating, to be honest. Let's get into the 'why'. For the time we - both my husband and I who were both getting Invisalign at this office - were at the praxis (close to 3 years with a pause in between due to travels) and during the duration of our treatment, the experience was great. From the initial consultation to the treatment sessions, the staff was always on point and really nice. Dr. Shung was awesome too. The praxis is beautiful. When I gave birth to my first son and visiting shortly after for one of my treatment sessions with him, the office even gave us a gift bag as a congratulations for the baby arriving. We were super thankful for this and pleasantly surprised as well as I can't say we've ever been treated this kindly by another orthodontist - or even doctor. I also need to add that we probably were one of the harder clients. My husband and I needed to travel in between our treatment duration quite a bit which delayed our original treatment plan as well. With that being said, and 2 years now after our treatment has come to an end with Simply Orthodontics, we've acquired a new perspective which validated this review. In short, there are 2 big reasons why we were left with a rather bad feeling about this office. 1. During the first wave of the COVID pandemic, we decided to move back home to Switzerland to be close to family. The last treatment session was conducted very (!) unprofessionally by one of Dr. Shung's staff members. I forgot her name but she was rather young and had the bleach blond hair. She pretty much portrayed an annoyed and unprofessional attitude the entire time. Didn't explain to us correctly the consequences of ending our Invisalign treatment because if we completely did it (and not later on 'transfer' our open Invisalign data in the global Invisalign system to a doctor in Switzerland), we could not proceed with treatment anymore. Dr. Shung wasn't in the office due to the very new COVID restrictions at the time, and couldn't be reached either according to her. We needed to make a decision fast as we were leaving the country the following week. She proceeded to give us a feeling of annoyance because we had deliberately 'stretched' out our treatment so much already and they were already doing us a huge favor in her own words. During the last treatment, she was also rather rough, forgot stuff, etc. It was bad - in short - very bad. And I felt a bit shell-shocked after having had such a great experience up until this point. 2. These next points are the more severe one. For starters, one of my husband's major crooked teeth hadn't been fixed for the entire time and also still isn't looking different then from starting the treatment. Next, I'm having big issues with my teeth now. Let me preface this by saying, I still have my wisdom teeth. I went to 3 different orthodontists here in Switzerland and they ALL told me the same, "We would have NEVER started Invisalign treatment for you if you did NOT prior to it take out all your wisdom teeth." Now, Dr. Shung definitely suggested that I needed to take out my wisdom teeth prior. I didn't want to, to be honest. However, IF I had known the consequences and IF Dr. Shung would have explained them to me directly and honestly, I would have 100% done so. The thing is that due to the uniqueness of my lower bite, to straighten my lower teeth, it caused such a tension, that now my teeth are affected and breaking when I eat harder stuff such as bread, a sandwich, etc. :(. Because of that, I was advised here to not wear my last, final retainers anymore which caused my teeth to move back and to new places. So, to sum it up, I not only invested a large amount of money and all my time in vain. But now, I have to invest even more money to pay a dentist to fill in the pieces that broke out from my teeth during eating, but also starting a whole new Invisalign treatment. Due to the fact that Dr. Shung's staff did not explain to us the consequences of 'ending' our treatment, we now have to pay all the initial Invisalign fees again and start the whole procedure new. Not only that, we can only hope that my teeth will recover. I had to go to the local dentist here twice, to fill in and literally fix some of my back teeth that were breaking as a direct link to the Invisalign treatment I've received at Dr. Sung's office. Hence, I had to let this be known to people starting an Invisalign treatment and I felt I needed to let this office know about their coworker and how it affected the entire overall experience we had in the end. When at first we felt like we were in competent hands, now we really doubt our entire experience as well as the professional consultation we've received over the years with them. read more

y 7 year old son is currently being treated by Dr. Shung at Simply for past 3 months for phase 1. After consulting 5 different orthodontists, he was the only one who didn't use scare tactics and the only one who provided a conservative, non invasive option to correct an underbite. We are new to this and didn't know who to trust but I am glad we went with Dr Shung and gave his suggestions a try- it's working so far and I'm looking forward to seeing if the results will pan out. It's worth exploring the lower cost and less invasive options as opposed the other orthodontists wanted us to do and pay for very pricey phase 1 corrections that also seemed very uncomfortable for a 7 year old. Dr Shung was confident the conservative option wil work but also offered peace of mind when he will allow payment of the current treatment appliance to apply to future treatments if it were to be medically needed. This is a bitter sweet moment. This is an amazing office! I recommend all my friends and coworkers here. Let me explain to you my journey to straight teeth. I was 26 and getting adult braces! Don't be scared about what age you start braces at! Everyone has their different journeys through life! I finally had my own insurance through my company and they offered great orthodontic treatment. I was yelping around actually scrolled passed Simply Orthodontics. Thinking "pft no way this place get full 5 star ratings from everyone." Thank u, next. Still not sure where to go...I asked a long time friend. She recommended Simply Orthodontics. Alright fine! She convinced me! "Just make an appointment for a free consultation it won't hurt just to see what they have to say." Called into the office. Made an appointment. The day finally came. I met Min who took pictures of my face and teeth. Asked what I would prefer Invisalign or brackets? Ceramic Brackets, please. I went for this option because my life style (laziness and snacking a lot) wouldn't work out with keeping up with Invisalign. Then I met Dr. Shung, super down to earth guy, reviewed my pictures. Told me it would be a 4-6 month process!! Only 4-6 months as an adult getting braces?! Sign me right up! Min gave me a quote that I could not say no to! Right when I walked out of the office I called another friend told her this is the place for her! She hurried and made her appointment as well! She commutes from Northern California and I commuted from Lake Elsinore!! That is how awesome this place was that I did not mind the drive! We waited for my insurance to communicate with Simply Orthodontics office. There was some confusion, but they were very patient with me. Next thing you know March 13, 2018 came by and got those brackets on. They have the most high tech stuff you don't even do that mold impression ! That was a plus for me. First week: ouch. You will be very very sore. Very. As time went on you will get used to it. They were very good at accommodating my schedule and always sent emails and text messages as a reminder. Through out the weeks and months. Every appointment I like to ask them what they are going to be doing next. How is what they were doing going to help? I just liked to learn how it all worked. Don't be afraid to ask questions! They are there to help you! I had a complicated front right tooth where I kept pointing out issues. My journey actually stretched out longer then expected. Total 9 months I had braces on. I really did not mind at all. Whatever they needed to do to make them straight and beautiful! Going to the Ortho is totally different from going to the dentist. Ortho dental floss is a MUST (Platypus you can find on Amazon) - If you must wear elastics ask for extra bags of them. I went through them like candy because I kept changing them out after eating or snapping them from yawning so much. Lol. I also changed them out when I feel like they don't have the tension when you first put them on. - Start liking oatmeal. - If you go with ceramic brackets I recommend getting the light blue or smoke bands for your braces. Today is my last appointment with Dr Shung and I am really, really, really fortunate that I made the right decision back in April 2018. It was my pleasure to finish this journey with everyone at Simply Orthodontics. The clinic has modern decoration, advanced and new devices and smells like heaven, people are nice and professional, appointments are on time and efficient, and I can tell that kids do not hate to come here. I am wearing ceramic braces for 2 years and 3 months but did not encounter common problems such as black triangles, gingival recession, cavities, broken wires or gum diseases. I had light TMJ dysfunction at the beginning but it lasted for only a few weeks. Overall I am very satisfied with the results, the length and the price. Everything is modern, clean, and sleek looking. I love everything they did with the place. In the waiting lounge, there are complimentary healthy (aka teeth-friendly) snacks (granola bars, etc), ice cold drinks (La Croix, Perrier, water), and even free chapstick for you to take! The process from booking an appointment through getting seen was super seamless and easy. The front desk is friendly, personable, and accommodating. They tried really hard to work around my busy schedule and fit us in for an appointment. I came to Dr. Shung to get my daughter's crossbite checked out. I was seen right on time, with no wait at all. Dr. Shung made my almost 6 year old daughter feel at ease immediately, and proceeded to take some pictures and X-Rays of her mouth. He showed me a video of what can be done to correct this, and it doesn't seem all that complicated (*relief*). She is still a little too young to get the crossbite fixed. We are going to have to wait until her 6-7 year old molars grow in, but we'll definitely be coming back for all our orthodontic needs. I love love love this office. From the moment I stepped foot in the door for my braces consultation I knew I was going to go with them. Their staff is ridiculously friendly, making you feel right at home and explaining everything to you in detail. Their office is extremely clean. I walked into my consult and was greeted by the friendly staff member at the door, she introduced me to Min who walked me through the process. I then had some of easiest X-rays that I've ever had done (seriously you just stand in front of this machine and it scans you). Awesome! And then the doctor greeted me to explain my teeth in full detail and go through my options. Everything was unbelievable easy. I opted for the Invisalign option and was sent an electronic morph of how my teeth would move and what the end result would be. I was given final approval on the result before it was sent to manufacturing. I really appreciated the ease of this process. I'm currently working through my weekly trays and go in every 8 weeks to have the doctor look at the progress. He's always very pleasant despite working long hours. They have also done an excellent job adjusting during COVID. They only take 2 clients at a time (from what I've seen), their office is spotless, they have everyone wash their hands and they even take your temp at the door before you can enter.
