Wow, guys at the door helped me with the process. Guided me on where to begin. They had a cart to load recyclables in. Backed my car right up next to the place. They helped me empty my bags and told me keep my hands clean. The machine spit out tickets, which I took to the counter he combined the tickets and weighed what wouldn't fit in the machine. Incredible hidden gem in Fair Oaks! They are a brand new, locally-owned, small family biz that is doing big things in the world of recycling. First off, if you recycle, the world and the future thank you! Secondly, if you are going through the motions of saving the planet, one bottle/can at a time, then you should go to Simply Recycle and have a pleasant experience while doing it. At Simply Recycle, you don't have to stand in the elements of a parking lot waiting for your turn, separating your recyclables, and moving garbage cans around. This is a very clean, very nice indoor facility that has an easy-to-use high tech, industrial sized machine that does all the work for you! Just dump all the cans, plastic, and glass containers in the same spot and press the start button. That's when the magic happens. Each item gets carried up a conveyor belt and is sorted and scanned. That part is very important. So the labels have a barcode that gets scanned and you are paid exactly what the CA CRV is, 10 cents or 5 cents, etc. So if there is a missing label or if the bottle is crushed and the barcode can't get scanned, it will go into the "rejected" chute, along with other containers that don't fit in their sorter. Don't worry, you will still get paid for those, as long as there is a label. They get weighed the traditional way. Moral of the story: don't crush your bottles or take off the labels if you can help it. While the machine is recycling your items, it tells you the exact number of items getting processed and how much you are getting paid. When i'ts done, it prints out a paper voucher that you take over to another ATM-like machine, scan it, and get your cash! There are hand sanitizer stations and wipes available also. Easy peasy! What makes Simply Recycle a 5 star business though, is not just the easy, convenient, and pleasant experience, but the awesome staff! Dave is the man! He was so cheery, enthusiastic, helpful, friendly, and just overall great to be around! He explained every step of the process and showed us exactly what to do and what was happening. We even got a behind the scenes tour of their $500K machine at work. BTW, this is the only one in California, and maybe the US (?). Fantastic place to go for your recyclables. This place is a very welcome change from the recycling places that are in back of stores, etc, where sketchy people hang around with HUGE bags of can and bottles I've been here twice now, and usually have to borrow their big laundry cart to bring all our stuff, but that's ok! The recycling center in West Sac closed abruptly without notice. We searched and found this one and it sounded interesting. We loaded up my SUV (max load is six 30 gallon bags for my Ford Edge) and drove the 12 miles. The service was incredible. I advised the lady working there that it was my 1st time and she explained how it worked and helped with my load. It was so easy! So, I've been back several times and I must say, without a doubt, the service has been fantastic. I'm actually on my way with another load today. Tips: 1. The quick load reads the barcodes on each container. So, if you have crushed recyclables, they will need to be weighed which nets you less money than scanned. 2. Separate your crushed items from uncrushed before you come for faster service. If you don't, they have bins available for you to do this. 3. Large (gallon) water bottles - separate clear and clouded. 4. You can dump both glass and aluminum at one time as the machine reads each item barcode. You can see the number of items accepted and the recycle amount you may receive. It's pretty cool! Anything rejected is put in a separate rejection bin which is then separately weighed. 5. You don't have to separate glass by color! YAY! This is definitely a win! 6. No broken glass accepted. read more

Supervisor Dave and crew are so hospitable, helpful and honest giving you every opportunity to get back all the CA redemption value you paid for when you purchased your beverages! The state of the art recycling facility is for beverages only including bottles! DO NOT crush your plastics or cans as they are sent down to a machine that automatically reads the UPC code and gives you the exact amount you paid for it, records the total onto a receipt that you acknowledge, sign and redeem for cash! If you do have crushed items, it is weighed and registered for a receipt in the same way, but you get more back if the item Is not crushed. For example crushed plastic water bottle: 2 cents vs 5 cents not crushed! Simply Recycle is the vision of owner Ivan P, who saw the concept in Canada and brought the business to California! Ivan and brother Dave actually grew up in the Fair Oaks area and the store is in the old Blockbuster where they would come to get videos! The immaculate facility is indeed a business gem serving a two fold purpose of recycling and providing fair financial refund for its customers! Simply Recycle is open Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. Finally a clean place to recycle and no need to separate everything because the machine reads each container and gives you credit for it. I never knew at the usual locations whether I was getting the full amount for my containers or not because they do everything so fast you can't keep track of everything. With the system in use here you can follow along on the provided screen as the containers are scanned and counted so when it's finished you get a printed receipt with the total count and the amount for different CRV deposits. I've been seeing this place for a couple months now as I'm in this shopping plaza quite a few times a week grabbing lunch as it's close to my office and I have to say I'm definitely impressed with the quality of customer service and the ease of use of recycling all my aluminum and plastic bottles the reviews made me a little concerned as some of my bottles and cans do get a little crushed, but I was happy to discover that they will still allow you to turn in the crushed materials. It just can't be sorted by the technology and machines they use, but they're still willing to take your recyclables and they pay a very great price. We made $85 by bringing in our recyclables this weekend. So if you're needing a great clean very friendly place to bring your recyclables this is a place to go. I will be bringing all my recyclables here from now on my only complaint is my husband does work Monday thru Saturdays about the same hours as they are open so I'm gonna have to try to do it on the Days when he gets off a little earlier than usual read more

Wow !!! what a great experience! This is the most simplistic recycling business I have come by yet! It was very simple and you don't even have to touch the cans and get all dirty, also you don't have to crush the cans the machines does it all for you including the counting ! Then the machine gives you a recipe and you give it to the lady in the front then you sign and go to another machines that gives you your money! How convenient! Highly recommend this place !!!! This is a clean facility with reasonable parking and a great staff. The machine processing only applies if the recyclables are not crushed in any way. The label with the UPC code must be visible for the machine to work. If the machine rejects an item, you still get paid after a visual inspection by the staff. It was busy when I arrived, so the process took about 10 minutes longer than at a regular recycler. Employees don't handle money, but instead provide a voucher that is scanned by a machine that dispenses cash. For my purposes because I have an hydraulic can crusher and have 100% crush on my cans (to save space), it's a 4 star facility, but I've got to hand it to the thought that went into designing this setup, so 5 stars in general. read more
