The only one of its kind in California! What a great resource for us here in Fair Oaks but well worth the trip for you to visit Simply Recycle! Supervisor Dave and crew are so hospitable, helpful and honest giving you every opportunity to get back all the CA redemption value you paid for when you purchased your beverages! The state of the art recycling facility is for beverages only including bottles! DO NOT crush your plastics or cans as they are sent down to a machine that automatically reads the UPC code and gives you the exact amount you paid for it, records the total onto a receipt that you acknowledge, sign and redeem for cash! If you do have crushed items, it is weighed and registered for a receipt in the same way, but you get more back if the item Is not crushed. For example crushed plastic water bottle: 2 cents vs 5 cents not crushed! Simply Recycle is the vision of owner Ivan P, who saw the concept in Canada and brought the business to California! Ivan and brother Dave actually grew up in the Fair Oaks area and the store is in the old Blockbuster where they would come to get videos! The immaculate facility is indeed a business gem serving a two fold purpose of recycling and providing fair financial refund for its customers! Simply Recycle is open Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. What a fabulous, purposeful business addition to California- hopefully more will be emerging for all of the state!

Helpful staff! They helped me load everything into the machine and it was so easy! It's the only place I'd return to do my recycling.

What do you mean that they reject smashed cans and bottles? I always smash them in order to get more bottles and cans into my garbage bags for transporting them in my car?…

We can absolutely help you Recycle any smashed beverage containers. We just won’t be able to run them through the machine. We put them on the scale so you will still get paid out for them.

Do the tops need to be removed from the bottles?

You can leave the caps on. They will not be rejected with the caps on. We always leave our caps on and have had no problems.

I am unsure why this place gets such negative feedback…read more I have been here many times to dump trash after a party, old fence pieces, bamboo, and other things and never had an issue. The cashiers are polite -- as for driving up and dumping your trash, just wait to get instructions from the workers at the different posts and you will be okay. The best time to dump your trash is later in the day after all the city garbage trucks go home.

I was pretty sure I couldn't put it in the trash and I was right- you absolutely cannot do that. Turns out you can take up to 15 gallons of household hazardous waste to this waste station for free every month- how cool is that! To further enhance this experience, they are open on Saturday. Heck ya! We spent the first half of the morning, doing some minimal garage, cleanup, loaded up my car and drove out there . It was really easy to follow the signs and drive into the hazardous household waste area. I would say I was there for about two minutes total. As soon as I drove up, three people came up to unloaded the back of my car the third came to my window and document in my drivers license. All three were incredibly kind! The man even shook my husband's hand when he said thank you - so refreshing to see nice people out in public. We were only able to leave them with 15 cans, but they gave us a brochure that details three other locations we could take it to that also allow us to dispose of 15 cans per month free of charge. Pretty amazing deal.
