    TERRIBLE We booked…read morea storage unit with Extra Space Storage as we needed somewhere to keep our bags for a month as we go travelling. I specifically asked the salesperson over the phone can we access this unit at 8pm as we need to drop our bags and head to the airport. He said absolutely, of course you can, our facilities are open all night. We took a $100 uber from the city to the building and upon arrival discovered that there was no access to the building. We tried to access it for half an hour, whilst ringing customer service trying to see if we could access our storage unit, we were told, the salesperson should not have told you that you could access your unit at 8pm as we are closed. We now have to find somewhere to drop off 6 massive bags before our flight which is in 2 and a half hours or else we are going to miss it. As of now, we are going to have to miss our flight and spend another couple of hundred dollars between us to try reorganise it for tomorrow until we find somewhere to keep our bags which we will have to spend more money on as well. We are also losing a day of travel and a night in our hotel. Ultimately costing us over $1,000 and ruining our travels. Do NOT rent a storage unit with this company.

Very easy Communication with the Manager Chris . Such a nice guy . I have had a few storages in the past and managers that were rude. Chris is a keeper . I was stressed out not knowing how I would get everything done and he gave me great advice on how to organize my stuff to make the move smooth. My rate never increased If I can give the facility a 10 stars I would : If you're looking for a well run , clean , safe storage company . Look no further !!

Facts- they do not inform you but they rent month to month, not for a year, like all other storage places, they raise your rent every 5 months by 50%! When you call to question you literally get told - wait let me read you my smeale I'm given to read!! They claim real estate and economy caused the raise, yet they currently are offering the exact same space for 120.00 cheaper then what they are asking!! Sept 2021- 172.50 January 2022- 252.50 Yet advertised for - 140.00 How are businesses allowed to just do that??? Obviously I am taking my stuff out of there now! They literally only offered my 20.00 off the 80.00 raise in fees they added EACH month!! This is insane!!

Then, when I did get a bunch of my stuff moved in, I realized I would need more room right away. They had no problem finding me the new perfect spot for my storage. The place is immaculate and easy to get to your storage from with building access in several helpful areas. No far walking. Climate controlled and excellent lighting makes for a pleasurable experience all the way around. I recommend them to anyone looking for a quality company that cares about their customers the way they do at Extra Space Storage.

    My Item, (a heavier glass item, that was fairly thick and sturdy) shipped by Island Packaging &…read moreShipping was damaged due very poor packaging. And although I stated the value in the request for a shipping quote, no coverage for the value was provided so I was only reimbursed for S100. I always state the value for a shipping quote, and I have never had a shipper not use the amount to provide coverage for damage, or otherwise offer the coverage if it is not in the quote. This is what you would expect, not that a shipper would ignore the stated value in the request. Island Packaging & Shipping blamed the carrier FedEx, but the damage was completely due to poor packaging of the item. I have had hundreds of shipments of antique and fragile items with no problems; this was not packaged well/safely. I understand that damage can occur due to a carrier, but FedEx is not at fault here - with the poor packaging of this item, it was destined to be damaged. I contacted Island Packaging & Shipping about the damage. They will respond to emails to get your business, but when you have a problem, they are extremely slow to respond and only after repeated emails asking them for a response. Regarding my damaged item, they stated the shipment was packed in accordance with industry standards for fragile items: 1 including a double-walled shipping carton rated for FedEx/UPS transit. The box was NOT double walled, it was a rather flimsy single walled box and was easily crushed, especially with the lack of sufficient packing material. 2 multiple layers of bubble wrap There was only ONE layer that was not sufficient 3 internal reinforcement There was none 4 air pillows to provide cushioning and prevent movement during transit There clearly was not enough if you were to rely on that, there was a lot of empty space that allowed the heavier item to easily move about and for the flimsy box to fail. Most of the pillows, over half, were deflated. The pillows didn't fill the void, and the item was NOT prevented from movement as shown by how the box was completely collapsed in. 5 packing peanuts were not used, as they are restricted in New York. Only Styrofoam peanuts are restricted, there are others available that would have protected the item. I requested reimbursement for my loss, but of course there was no response from them. They will not accept responsibility for their very poor packing that solely caused the damage.
