We had made reservations which was a good thing because they were really busy. After a short wait, we were shown to our booth, given water and drink orders taken. Had time to peruse the menu while waiting on the birthday boy to show up. We ordered the Cheesy Garlic bread to tide us over while deciding what we wanted and getting a round of drinks. Tahoe Mule for the son, Merlot for the dad, and a quite yummy non-alcoholic Margarita. It uses a no alcohol tequila. It certainly had all the right flavors. Our server, Mallory took good care of us throughout the meal. the two men both decided on the Land Ocean - classic lobster tail and filet. I went with the marginally healthy Tuna Poke Bowl. We finished up with the HUGE Chocolate Lava Cake. I like how they asked if any of us had food allergies or dietary restrictions. We have none. We went in on a Saturday evening during prime dinner hour. We arrived about 15 minutes early and were seated at exactly our reservation time. The restaurant is spacious with a lot of booths. There are only a few spots that can accommodate large parties, including a private room. Staff was friendly and super helpful. While gluten free items are not marked on the menu, the server was very knowledgeable about what was gluten free or could be made gluten free. I opted to order the fitness special, which changes often. It was a delightful piece of cod with a nectarine & mango salsa, cilantro rice, and carrots. The portion was the perfect size, leaving room to share the deconstructed banana cream pie (no Oreo crust for me). So delicious! The staff was careful with my food, even going back to the kitchen to confirm preparation when an allergy pick wasn't placed in my dessert. We will definitely be back soon! Had a reservation for 6:15 get there and the rude hostess told us it's going to be a few more minutes, and that we will have to wait.. sit down about 6:25 (not that bad of a wait). Our server takes forever to get over to us. He's kind. We decided to order immediately (since we had time to look over the menu cause he took forever. Ordered our food. It took them 45 minutes to bring out our salads. Took another 20 for our appetizer (which was delicious). Then took ANOTHER 25 minutes for our meals. Which ended up both being over cooked. Great new location in Sparks which was greatly anticipated as we love the Reno spot. Great brunch, lunch, dinner and happy hour service . We had lunch today and were served by Tristan who was friendly and attentive checking on us several times but not rushing us. We visited the new Land Ocean in Sparks on a Monday, June 29th, 2026, and what a pleasant surprise ! Our waitress, Nicole, couldn't have been nicer, as was the bartender, Madison. We've enjoyed the Lucious Burger at their South Reno location in the past, and the meal at this new Sparks location is just as delicious! The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, everything was served hot, and the cocktails were truly delicious. My wife, who rarely drinks alcoholic beverages, enjoyed her Raspberry Lemon Drop so much that she actually ordered a SECOND! The entire restaurant is clean, comfortable, fresh and cozy- the Platt family should be VERY proud of this extraordinary accomplishment. This experience was everything!! I'm obsessed and can't wait to come back! The decor and aesthetic was so classy and sexy! Our service was excellent, friendly and super helpful! But the food was obviously the star! The blacked shrimp bowl was delicious, filling, and so light! My husband got the surf and turf and I had a bite... delicious! I am pretty satisfied with my regular rotation of breakfast/brunch in the area. We decided to give a new place a chance since in the same week I saw 2 amazing reviews and had a co-worker give their strongest recommendation to Land Ocean Sparks. So happy with the dining experience. To start, this place feels fancy even though it is in a shopping center in an old Chili's location. This is the modern steakhouse done exactly right. They have found great servers that improve the brunch experience by providing a flawless service. Been going to the Roseville location for years and also really enjoy their other restaurant Sienna. Moved here from there so it was really exciting to hear we were getting a land ocean. I felt like having a drink and a bite, but the hubby and I could not decide on where to go without having to drive across town. I recommend that we went to Land Ocean, he agreed and we're so happy that we did. We walked in and were greeted by the hostess and were asked if we wanted to order from the happy hour or to be seated in the regular dining room. My Lavish burger was delicious and would definitely order again! The calamari was very good and full of flavor. My only complaint would have to be the banana pudding. The Oreo crust was the last thing from being a crust. It was more of a dusting and had the same consistency of sand. In the month that I have lived here, I have visited 4 times. Once for brunch and the other three for dinner and have loved it every time! The bleu cheese and bacon were plentiful and could be tasted in each bite. Jumbo prawn cocktail - honestly the best shrimp cocktail l've ever had. Comes with 5 nicely sized pieces of shrimp on a pretty bed of greens. The cocktail sauce is perfectly spicy. Take my advice, make sure you order extra. Artichoke - this one is seasonal, make sure you try it before they take it off the menu. I don't know what the aioli sauce is, but it is absolutely amazing again, make sure to order extra. The lemon definitely comes through and whatever seasoning they put on gives it the perfect touch. I would recommend making a reservation in advance and definitely recommend trying this restaurant. She mentioned that their Ahi Poke Tacos were a favorite, and they weren't wrong! It is SO good to have a real fine dining restaurant here in Sparks! We had a 1pm reservation on. Sunday and it was packed! Hard to find the door; it's on the west side of the building. Once we finally made it inside we were seated immediately. They were super busy so it was a little slow getting our coffee and brunch order in. They don't have an espresso machine, which is odd, considering the dinner menu would make me want a cappuccino! I ordered the filet Benedict (with gf English muffin) which was perfectly cooked and the béarnaise sauce was on point. The food we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the inside of the restaurant is surprisingly nice for a grill--very welcoming and comfortable. I have heard so many things about this restaurant so it was good to finally try them since they opened a few days ago. We walked in on Saturday with no reservation. The person at the front said booth are only reservation, but the bar takes walk-ins. We sat at the bar and Nicole was our server. She was amazing and so were Dylan and Brooke. They all checked in on us to make sure everything was okay and got what we needed. We ordered the following: Oysters on the half shell: These were very fresh! We did ask for horseradish, but I think they forgot. It is okay though since we got the Tabasco, and two other sauces. I loved how fresh it was and cleaned well. Sharp Cheddar Burger: I wanted to try a regular burger with the fries and it was perfect. The fries were much better than I was expecting. Cowboy Ribeye: The ribeye was a perfect medium rare and it was very juicy. The chipotle butter was subtle, but strong enough to add something extra to eat bite of the steak. Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée: The custard was creamy and the sugar on top added the perfect texture with the creaminess. Drinks we had: Espresso Martini: This was good. Not too bitter, but not too sweet either. Special K Martini: The pomegranate was a little strong than I expected making it more sour, but overall it is not bad. Irish Coffee: Warm. The coffee and whiskey is strong than I expected and not as sweet I would like. The whipped cream does help a bit, but it would be better just a tad sweeter. Vanilla Old Fashioned: It was good and vanilla forward, but not cold since it wasn't made in the glass. Appreciate that many of the cocktails were pre made. The interior was very spacious and brighter than I expected which I do appreciate. There is one tv and the music playlist has been great. It might be a bit loud if you are not directly sitting next to the person. The booths give the customers a more intimate experience at their table compared to the bar. The service was exceptional so far with every person we interacted with. The bar felt like we were in other people's personal bubbles. Great steak dinner in Spanish Springs......finally!!! My wife and I have eaten at most of the good steakhouses in Reno/Tahoe and there's a handful of really good ones (Sage Room, Steak &Lobster House, Ciera Chop house , Atlantis, Charlie Palmer's ......) and few more affordable options that offer a good steak dinner with a modest price tag like ruby river and texas roadhouse. Outback is the dennys of steakhouses -one and done for me,so living in Spanish Springs we always have to drive to Reno ( usually texas roadhouse) i like the rustic western decor and a good ribeye dinner for 28$ doesn't break the bank...... but having to drive 25-30 minutes each way and wait 30-40 minutes is a drag so we are so excited to have a great steakhouse right in our back yard and the food is excellent!!! My wife and I each got the cowboy ribeye covered with the stringy onions , cooked perfectly medium rare. I was blown away by the efficiency , I think they must be searing them on cast iron and then grilling , i'm not exactly sure but we had hot steaks on the table about 10-12 minutes after we ordered , it was noticeably quick and extra delicious. I believe they were 16oz steaks , quality cuts of meat, I think I ate all but two small bites of fat. A lot of times lower quality ribeyes can be overly fatty and gristley, anyway maybe we got lucky or maybe they are serving really clean quality cuts of meat. Seasoned to perfection, the mushrooms on the side were fantastic and I never order sides of mushrooms with my steak i typically like them straight up with a loaded potato but i could eat a whole plate of those damn mushrooms , they really soak up the flavor and pop in your mouth. Twice baked potato was very tasty , a little smallish but really perfect size with a big steak dinner. My wife and her mom split the ribeye, so perfect to share for smaller appetites. Asparagus was tasty , caesar salad was good and the wellington appetizers were really good but i was so full i couldn't try any dessert so next time no apps and save room for dessert!! Service was excellent!! Matthew missed his calling as a stand up comedian and instead waits tables at Land Ocean, this guy is a character and entertains with his sense of humor throughout the meal. We loved the personality, I think Matthew said " call me when you get home" as we left the restaurant , just added some fun to an already great meal. Well done Matthew and Cheers to Land Ocean for bringing a great steak dinner to Spanish Springs !! I believe the Cowboy Ribeye was 55$ with all the fixings so not cheap but not near as expensive as the fancy ala carte places. We ordered beef Wellington, crab cakes and Caesar salad for pick up, we had dined in and were so happy before, but this was a completely different experience like slop in a box, our Wellingtons were in edible the brandy sauce wasn't burned off, two had no beef inside..we tossed them. The crab cakes were fine the salad was the best thing. Not what we've come to expect from them, the manager Ann did refund the Wellingtons with our complaint. My wife and I decided to try this location during happy hour. We arrived about 4:30 on Thursday afternoon (6/4/26). We were greeted by a couple young ladies as we entered the restaurant. We decided to order from the happy hour menu. With this being our first time, we didn't know what the Happy Hour portions were like, so we decided to order 3 dishes and to share them. Thankfully we limited ourselves to 3, because it turned out to be quite a bit of food. We decided on the crab cakes, wellingtons, and the blue cheese dip with chips. I had a disco ninja with the food. Poured to perfection, as was the temperature. Very refreshing on a warm late spring afternoon. My wife opted for iced water. Throughout our time there, Madison and other stopped by to ensure that we had everything that we needed. Not once did I feel like they were crowding or rushing us. Our water was topped off often, and our dishes cleared quickly. We were both very impressed by the level of service that we received. As for the food...The dip was the star of the day! So much flavor in every bite. If you are a blue cheese fan, this is a must try!. The wellingtons was full of flavor, with a bite here and there that was slightly salty, but otherwise they were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was very tasty. We may get them again, but want to try other menu options first. The crab cakes. This was probably the most appealing by appearance. However, we both found that there was very little crab, I mean neither one of us tasted any crab. We both felt that there was quite a bit of filler. Unfortunately, the yummy sauce served on the cakes did not make up for the lack of crab. Surprisingly the dressing on the salad was lacking flavor as well. We probably will not order this again. So glad to see some of the previous staff from the Reno location came over to the Sparks location. My favorite dish is the land ocean, which is a great steak and coconut shrimp combo for a very reasonable price in the recent economy. If you go, you absolutely have to save room for dessert. We have been wanting to go to this restaurant since it opened last March! We were both nervous about it because we had tried every restaurant that has gone into this building, and it seemed like they always have the same furniture in the same cold environment no matter what restaurant came in! This was a real quiet Jim, as I haven't heard too many reviews about it, and we were excited to try it, but it was kind of hush-hush out there, which we were really surprised! My husband ordered a smoked old-fashioned, and I ordered a Moscow mule. The Moscow Mule was a little better, but was very alcohol forward and was delicious, my husband's bourbon smelled really good, and they did a wonderful job.! the food kind of came out early and fast, next time I think we will slow things down a little bit because the appetizer was out there within a few minutes and by the time we turned around dinner was served and over so quick! We are used to places in Europe that we went to when we lived there, and dinner was a wonderful experience, this place was a little bit too fast, but we really enjoyed ourselves! Next time we go, we will slow things down a little bit so we can enjoy each other a little more! All in all from the reservation at 6:30 and we were home by 8:30 when we live 20 minutes away, so that was nice and refreshing! We really like this place, and we felt like we were in Seattle with our son, because that's how they roll in Seattle, so it was nice to see an upscale restaurant on this side of Reno. We hope it stays! And now back to our meal, we ordered the crabcakes, and they were very good as an appetizer! The main course I ordered surf and turf, which was a filet mignon with teriyaki sauce, mashed potatoes, the sauce was weird, it was really sweet, so I didn't dip my steak in it. I dipped the tempura battered shrimp in it.! I would've liked a more savory sauce, but that's just me! My husband ordered the land ocean, which was a filet mignon and a lobster tail, it was very good he said! The prices were great, I was really shocked as my sirloin was a Wagyu and it wasn't expensive at all! I didn't feel like the sirloin was Wagyu, it was easy to chew, but it was tough to cut! After our mule, the server came over and we got the dessert menu and has been ordered the banana cream pie, and I ordered lava cake, ooey gooey and the heath bar bits were delicious! the desserts were huge and we could've shared them, but we finished them off pretty good! I would definitely recommend this place, they have a conference room so you could have a bigger table, we will definitely be coming back and enjoying this place many more times, I'm excited to try some of the menu items! By the way, I can say that it was so comfortable, and after all of those restaurants that have gone before this one, we were so glad to see that the furniture had finally changed, and we were not sitting on hard cold chairs, if we would've seen those chairs when we walked in, we would've walked out, and this place has a beautiful upscale dining experience, I highly recommend you go! It's family, friendly too, there were some kids in there and I wouldn't hesitate one second to bring my grand kiddos with me, very nice atmosphere! Service was impeccable! I met a friend her for lunch on a weekday and loved it. The place is very upscale and sophisticated. It's a great ambiance. We ordered cocktails. I loved my orange Manhattan and my friend loved her vodka cucumber cooler. I had the salmon blt for lunch and she had the sesame chicken salad. We were both very happy with our meals. We got loads of attention, but it was never invasive. We had a lot of catching up to do and they left us alone. It wasn't busy, so it wasn't a problem anyway.
