Narine and her staff are so friendly and helpful. I have been there twice and both times were soo fun. I am not crafty at all but they are right there to help. The workshop itself is super cute too! I just have to pace myself in going back for more projects...for my poor bank accounts sake!

Have gone twice in one week--that's how much fun we had. This is a hands-on DIY workshop where you produce a project you choose. Nar and her team are great; they help you with stain and paint choices and how to apply your stencil and paint your project. I was thrilled with both of my projects and so were my friends with their projects. I had a vision for my second project, a box centerpiece for my dining table, and Nar developed a custom design for me. I highly recommend this for team building, date night, girls' night out, or family fun. Can't wait to go back and make a large lazy Susan

Very nice, pleasant, organized studio.

What an awesome experience this class was!…read more I appreciated the time the team spent getting everyone comfortable working with the tools before beginning work on the final pieces. We got to choose to make either a bowl, cup, or vase. You will do the work on every part of the process to make a piece, but the instructors are right there to make sure you come away with something to feel proud of. Everyone in my group chose to make a cup, but each person gets to choose their own colors and each cup came out with a slightly different shape depending on how the tools were applied. It was really fun to see each persons unique final product! I enjoyed this class so well that I'd like to go back again and make another one of the options.

I believe they cap the class at eight so that you truly get the attention and detail in training that you deserve. Our instructors, Rene and Lauren, were phenomenal. They were funny and relatable and made the entire experience extremely enjoyable. After going over the basics of safety and glass blowing, we went one by one and received individual attention to make our glass masterpieces. We were given the choice of making either a paperweight, a drinking glass, a bowl, or a vase. We were allowed to pick any color of glass that we wished, and I appreciated the insight provided by the instructors as to which colors would go together well. I ended up making a beautiful vase with a translucent jade color with pops of white. My husband made a drinking glass in green and gold. From start to finish it was an incredible experience and something I would definitely enjoy doing again. So if you're looking for something fun to do in Sacramento while supporting a small local business and the arts, I would highly, highly recommend checking out Sacramento Art Glass.

I had always thought the…read moreVerge center offered different types of art and ceramics classes for the community but they also have a few nicely displayed exhibit rooms with 2 and 3 dimensional art on display from several local California artists. My favorite exhibit was that of a large tapestry scroll mounted on the wall depicting the artists happiness sorrow and angst. I love art that makes me think and wonder what the [bleeeep] the artist was thinking when he created it. I stared and pondered then I stared and pondered some more. I took a picture of the giant scroll (attached to this review). And I meandered on through Verge museum in my mind space. The learning classroom was an outstanding walk thru as every wall is adorned with exemplars of student work. There is a small museum store in the front lobby area which offers unique glass Jewelery, 3 dimensional ceramic pieces, fabric totes, artist pencils, acid free sketch books, and several lovely coffee table books. I will return to Verge center as they offer art classes to the community and they have a couple kilns where you can buy kiln time... ‍

A hidden gem in Sacramento! I wanted to learn to weld in order to seal up an Oklahoma Joe smoker,…read morebut didn't want to spend 5 months doing an intro class at one of the community colleges, and didn't feel quite ready to tackle it fully via YouTube. Gina's intro class was exactly what I was looking for - I went from zero welding experience to making a sculpture in a couple of hours, and I definitely plan to go back for the intermediate class at some point. Gina is a great teacher, and does a great job at making welding less intimidating. For context, I am a Software Engineer - so it wasn't like I was already a trades guy picking up welding. Even if you don't have a project in mind, the experience of welding something and getting to make a piece of art is so fun. I HIGHLY recommend taking a class here. I shared my experience with some friends out of state and they wished they had something like this near them. Take advantage of this wonderful studio!

She is the best! She is high energy and very patient. I was a little nervous initially but she is great with showing you all the safety protocols all while making sure you are comfortable and understand. She was super helpful with ideas or suggestions to help create your project. If you are looking for something fun and different this might be the class for you. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful & Quaint Art Studio In The Heart Of Midtown Sacramento!…read more SITREP Props to art docent Mike for giving my buddy Aaron T. and myself a tour around this lovely gallery. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/red-door-art-studio-sacramento?select=h_NJpiWENh9n7efduhO-jw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE SETUP The Red Door Art Studio ("Red Door") is this sweet quaint gallery in a Victorian at the corner of 20th & L Streets that hosts a lot of beautiful work it exhibits for local artists. FRANKIE VANITY Have seen Frankies art page on Facebook, Aaron and I made a beeline to check out her work which was vibrant and energetic. I am myself quite partial to themes of faeries, mermaids, the fantastic and any multi-medium work that especially features the works of Shakespeare. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/red-door-art-studio-sacramento?select=qmYrMOe0PcQwcwotixCaBA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w Frankie has a number of pieces that explores the work of Shakespeare and that is inspired by the sage's considerable body of plays. In addition, Frankie even incorporated the very pages of Shakespearean plays in her artistic work itself. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/red-door-art-studio-sacramento?select=JOECpJi98oLP88kCymxFtg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w EXHIBITION CLOSES Just to give art fans a heads-up, Frankie's exhibition closes this Friday. THE LOWDOWN A beautiful, fun and spirited gallery in the heart of Midtown.
