Sing Sing is a great spot for sushi and fresh sashimi! The maeutang is especially delicious--rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. The portion is generous, perfect for sharing with 4-5 people. Highly recommend! It's a small chill and quiet spot. Also the service has gotten better.

I will always as but they said No military discount but the food was good. Cute little place in the cut.

    Sushi & Sashimi Regular Combination

I was recommended this restaurant because of the freshness of the food here, and I was proved right! My mom and I ordered the sushi and sashimi regular combo, and had expected just the sushi and sashimi to come. However, we were served multiple other dishes like cheese corn, vegetable and shrimp tempura, etc. And I'm assuming some weren't even apart of what comes with the combination. When the main part of the meal, I took a piece of sashimi first, and it was so fresh! It was one of the freshest food I've ever had!! Granted, we did come right when they opened. Regardless, I wouldn't doubt that the food would be fresh all day long, and get consistently good service. The staff was really nice and amazing with the service. The price wasn't bad either with the amount of food we got. The only downside is that there's not a lot of seating, so if it does get busy, just be aware of the limited seats available. But overall, highly recommend to come with friends and family for the best sushi and sashimi!!

I tried this sushi place out today and was presently surprised. Also, all speciality rolls are 50%! Wow! And they were so good ! My fiance went inside so I'm not sure how the service was, but he said he'd definitely go back there! I'm going to say as for the ambiance, of the packaging counts, I'm just really glad everything looked and tasted so good & neat.

I'm on the fence about this place since it was my first time here, but now I know what to expect. It's a Korean-style sushi restaurant, which is a little different than a Japanese counterpart. Just know, They have the barley hot tea, no green or jasmine tea. Really this is the best place if you like huge rolls topped with sauce and goodness! Can't beat the half price rolls, but I felt all the roll options were very similar. We also ordered a sashimi and sushi platter per the suggestion of the waitress. This is the best deal because it comes with all these appetizers (salad with ginger sauce, steamed egg, veggie tempura) and a platter full of sushi. This can really feed a family of 4 for $40. The only problem is that the quality of the fish was not good when you eat this in the raw. It was tough and didn't have the oiliness you get in good quality cuts. The tuna was even still frozen! But, this place was very busy with people coming in picking up to go orders so there must be something worth trying again.

I wouldn't go here for ambience- more of a carry out spot for sushi. I called the order in via phone- it helps if you know the number of the item you want. The wait was about 20-30min for pickup. When I arrived, the food was ready and checkout quick. I ordered spicy tuna (my staple sushi roll); a yum yum roll (crab meat on crabmeat) and my husband got the blackjack roll (tuna with onions). For three rolls I was given one small container of soy that my husband and I had to split; so you may want to ask for more if it's a shared order.

Went to Sing Sing with the boys for an early dinner and thought it was okay. The restaurant was empty so we got seated right away. We ordered the three pound sashimi meal which came with streamed eggs, California rolls, cheese corn, tempura veggies, and some other side. I thought the value was pretty good at about $50 per person, including a few beers and soju. The place was pretty small inside with large tables to accommodate larger parties, so probably not ideal for parties of two. The service was just okay. Will probably only come back if someone else suggests it as I probably won't seek it out. Overall it was average.

I had a family gathering in the weekend and we ordered a sashimi platter and some sushi rolls. The food is fresh. My favorite is the salmon sashimi. The rolls are good too. For take out, it is great quality. The food is well packaged and secured. Nothing spilled which is amazing. They also gave extra ice for the sashimi platter. How nice of them! The food was ready to be picked up as promised. Great food and great service. Maybe we will dine in next time. I would definitely back again.

I'm not much of a raw fish/sashimi type of person but it has been growing on me in the past year or so. My mom is a regular, so they treated us real good. I can't complain of how attentive and extra the service was. *WARNING* please be aware of where you park and what valuables are visible in your car. The karaoke/lounge in the plaza next door (Luxor), as well as this plaza is known for cars getting broken into (mine included)! The interior isn't anything special. Upon entering, there are long tables that seat 8 people lining the left and right side. The restaurant was pretty full when we came in. They also had (I believe) 3 outdoor tables when the weather gets warmer. Came here with my family of 4 and we chose the sashimi special for $80. As seen in the picture, it came with an assortment of red tuna, red snapper, abalone, salmon, flatfish, squid, yellowtail and sea squirt/pineapple. Uhm, I must say -- they cut their pieces HUGE! What would be 2-3 slices at other restaurants, was 1 piece! The fish tasted so fresh and juicy. I don't think this is included in the special but they also gave us hamachi Kama, which was delicious. Along with the sashimi - this came with the egg, vegetable tempura, 24 pieces of California rolls, salmon marinated in Korean spicy pepper sauce, corn cheese, and lettuce-cucumber-carrot-pepper-garlic (to wrap your sashimi in). Tempura: onions, zucchini, sweet potato, potato. Crispy and moist inside! I usually don't like California rolls but these were good as if they added something extra. A side of soju perfects this meal ! To end, they serve fish, sujebi & bean sprout soup with a bowl of rice. Sujebi is hand torn noodle soup and is frequently eaten during special occasions/holidays in Korea. However, we were way too full to enjoy this to it's fullest potential. Haha.

Found my new go to sushi place. I finally had the chance to try this place after a lot of people recommended it to me. We ordered an assorted sushi roll, nigiri, and sashimi platter to go and were more than satisfied with our order. The staff packed an ice pack to our order to ensure it would stay fresh during my drive home. Their rolls have the perfect amount of rice. Some places overwhelm the rolls with rice just to make it look big but it doesn't contribute to the taste at all. However, sing sing knows the perfect way to balance rice and ingredients in their rice. You can really taste the freshness of the fish in their thick cut sashimi. Sing sing has a variety of sushi roles and fresh fish.

The dynamite roll (on the right) is AMAZING!!!! If this is your first time trying sushi or you're not big on sushi, this is a great for you. There's no (fishy) taste and it's just delicious. I recommend leaving out the asparagus though. Its better without it, in my opinion.

Pretty damn good sushi. And 50% off?? Yasss plz. Korean owned so expect some what a language barrier but that really didn't bother me. I had a really good time and the sushi was declious and fresh

This place has a few different names. The storefront and menu both say "Sing Sing Sushi & Sashimi" and "Sing Sing Sushi & Roll." The receipt says "SingSing Sushi." "Sing sing" (phonetically, "shing shing") in Korean means fresh. This Korean-owned and operated business is near the Super H Mart in Duluth. It's sort of hidden on Pleasant Hill Rd in a depressed multistory, multi-building shopping plaza dubbed "The Shops at Pleasant Hill and Steve Reynolds." It's the same shopping center with Luxor, the Korean Egyptian-themed karaoke bar. I think the sushi here is mediocre. If you're into rolls, you might like this place. I prefer nigiri and sashimi, so I'm not as fond of Sing Sing as others. They offer 10 regular rolls and a whopping 48 different kinds of special rolls. The special rolls are advertised as 50% off all the time. I think this is a marketing gimmick and it reminds me of other sushi joints, such as Sushi Kiku, which do the same thing. Regular rolls cost about $4-5 each while special rolls cost about $12-16 each. After the 50% discount, special rolls ultimately cost about $6-8 each. Not bad, but you get what you pay for and the quality is just alright in my opinion. Along with rolls, Sing Sing offers 17 different types of nigiri and sashimi. It's mostly basic stuff though they carry items like toro (fatty tuna) and ikura (salmon roe). Two pieces of nigiri and three pieces of sashimi typically run about $4.50-6.50 per order. Appetizers (~$6-11) include soup, salads (including sunomono - Japanese vinegared salads), edamame, gyoza dumplings, agedashi tofu, tempura, and more. Additionally, they serve noodles (~8-9, Korean noodles, udon, and soba), donburi rice bowls and sashimi salads (~$9-20, e.g. Hoedeopbap, the Korean version of chirashi), sushi combos ($10-12), party platters ($25-70), and sashimi trays ($35-125 and up). I tried the following (prices shown after 50% discount applied): * F11. Naruto Roll ($7.50) - crab meat, tuna, avocado, masago, cucumber wrapper, ponzu sauce * B6. Caterpillar Roll ($6) - grilled eel, crab meat, cucumber, avocado, eel sauce * F17. Hollywood Roll ($6.50) - tuna, salmon, cucumber, gobo, avocado, masago * B2. Baked Salmon Roll ($6.50) - crab meat, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, baked salmon, masago, green onion, spicy mayo, eel sauce * F19. Firecracker Roll ($7) - crab meat, avocado, spicy scallop, spicy tuna, tempura crunch, green onion, spicy mayo, hot sauce * Sushi Platter, regular size ($25) - 4 rolls and 15 pieces of nigiri Generally, presentation was very good, particularly the rolls. They were beautiful, popped with color, and looked delicious. Taste and quality of fish (while sufficiently fresh) could've been better. All the special rolls, except for the riceless rolls, are cut into eight pieces. The Naruto Roll doesn't have any rice. Instead, the roll is wrapped with cucumber. The ingredients were fresh. I like this roll because it's healthier and you don't have to add any soy sauce to it since there's plenty of ponzu. Six pieces come to an order of the Naruto. I liked the Caterpillar Roll because I like both avocado and unagi (eel). Like the Naruto Roll, you don't need to add any soy sauce to the Caterpillar Roll because of the savory eel sauce. This roll is called Caterpillar because the green avocado and brown eel sauce combine to make this roll look like a caterpillar. Yum. I wasn't a big fan of the other rolls I tried (Hollywood, Baked Salmon, Firecracker). They just weren't all that appetizing to me from the flavors to the textures to even some of their temperatures (warm). Also, the sushi rice wasn't great. The sushi platters are ideal for dine-in groups and take-out for parties/events. On the regular platter I ordered, the 15 pieces of nigiri consisted of five sets of nigiri (three per set). The nigiri were red snapper, hamachi (yellowtail), sake (salmon), and I think hirame (flounder) and escolar/walu (white tuna). The menu says the regular platter comes with four regular rolls, but I saw only two: 16 pieces of California roll (cucumber, imitation crab, avocado) and 16 pieces of salmon roll (cucumber, salmon, avocado), both wrapped in seaweed and rice. This was mass-produced basic sushi, almost like something you'd eat off a buffet. Not the best quality. Service was good. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Our table got complimentary bowls of miso soup (normally $1.50 each) and plates of vegetable tempura to share. They also offered to split our checks (group of seven). Finally, I should note one of my friends got sick here. She had the Naruto Roll and the Rock & Roll (CS7. Shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber, baked salmon with cheese, spicy mayo, eel sauce. $8.). Something did not agree with her stomach and she puked in the restroom. I suspect it was the Rock & Roll since we shared the Naruto. TL;DR - Sing Sing is passable if you're looking for quick, casual, cheap sushi, especially rolls. If you want finer sushi, look elsewhere.

I was a huge fan of this place when it was strictly Japanese...and was quite bummed when I heard…read morethey changed this restaurant from Japanese to Asian fusion. In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. If they really don't have any sushi rolls, guess I'd order something Chinese?

The Shumai was very tasty, but the Rangoon had with more crab than cream cheese - a first, much to our pleasure. For the rolls, each was enough for one person. The standout was the Lobster Lover, followed very closely by the Triple X. The snow mountain roll was a bit heavy with the tempura flakes ( the Snow? ) but decent overall.
