I wash craving Japanese food and Haru Chiba was the perfect place to go. The sashimi was so high quality the fish just melts in your mouth. The platter was about $30 and the roll was $18. Each piece was so big and flavorful I'd go back for the roll. I went for dinner on a Tuesday night and they weren't super busy. The food came fairly quick and staff were super friendly.

This place has been here for a while. I remember going here years ago and it has not changed. The restaurant has a wide store front. Where are all the sitting is arranged lining the window. They also have some side seating on your left hand as you go in. It's very simple not much decor. The service is good no complaints. The food has always been fresh. And the pricing is fair. They have some often new specials that they normally will just print out. If you can't think of anything to eat, those are always good combos. Their nigiri is sliced very thick so you definitely get your moneys worth. Their house Ginger salad is just the way I like it. Some places don't give you enough or the flavoring is off, but here it is simple and perfect. Their Ramen broth is also very flavorful, not too salty. They definitely give you a big portion of Ramen.

Small, family-owned vibe--clean and cozy with friendly, standard service. Food was decent for the price. Quality and taste overall were average, but good enough for a casual family meal. I'm a picky eater, and while the Special Ramen had a nice homemade feel, the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen (on their popular list) didn't hit the mark for me--left half the bowl untouched. It's a spot I'd bring the kids to occasionally, but not somewhere I'd personally crave or go out of my way to revisit. Maybe there are other dishes worth trying, but this was my first impression.

I've only been to Haru Ichiban during lunchtime, but I'd love to come back for dinner! Even though they're located a little far from where I live, it's worth going out of the way for their affordable lunch specials and fresh sushi. The portion size is always amazing for the price, and they offer Japanese foods like hamburg steak that are difficult to find elsewhere. The service has always been friendly and fast, making it a great stop for lunch on a workday.

We recently had lunch at Haru Ichiban. This establishment had been around for decades. The price seems to stay lower than other Japanese restaurants. The service, food and atmosphere are awesome. The place makes you feel like you are in Japan. The price of Lunch special is awesome. You get a good healthy meal. What makes a difference is always the service. We are fortunate that we had Kate as our server. She is very attentive, personable, Friendly and speaks fluent English. If you're in a mood for a good authentic Japanese restaurant, I highly recommend Haru Ichiban in Duluth, Ga.

Amazing place, some of the freshest Nigiri and sushi I've ever had. Fast service and friendly staff. Definitely worth visiting.

We absolutely love this place so much! Their portions are huge, everything is so tasty and the prices aren't bad either! Definitely our favorite ramen place!

I ordered the sashimi deluxe lunch and it came with miso soup and salad but it didn't come with rice. The fish was very fresh but I think I expected a different variety or something more especially for the price. I saw the table next to me order the combo rice and noodle lunches so I'll probably go back to try more.

Pretty packed last Friday when I ate. A good variety of food on the menu from sushi, ramen, and the standard fare of apps. Service was timely for refills and checking on us. Would go back if I was in the area.

Once again back in Duluth and HAD to stop by. They're still AMAZING and on point. This time we tried the Sunset Roll which was delicious. The lemon added a nice citrus to the whole roll. Our friends got the Gyudon and reported the meat and sauce was nicely seasoned. The chicken teriyaki skewer was ON POINT! Not too sweet, seems like they use chicken breast, seasoned well and juicy.

This is a solid Japanese restaurant. The menu is massive and they have just about everything from small plates, kushiyaki, okonomiyaki, takoyaki.. probably more yakis. Sushi, sashimi, bento boxes, tray style meals, and much much more They're on a strip so plenty of parking. The shop itself is a decent size but not huge so wouldn't be good for large parties inside. We ordered the haru ichiban sushi $50 but they were out of uni so I was pretty bummed about that. We also ordered takoyaki which was delicious here. A must try, buttery, melty dough and tons of flavor. Brother in law ordered onigiri and let me try.. it was good but so much rice in comparison to filling. The sushi platter was very generously sized and had a few good pieces of tuna on there. It's supposed to come with a miso soup but they forgot, but I didn't say anything because we were full anyway. The fatty tuna maki roll was excellent. I wasn't crazy about the salmon roe pieces on the sushi platter but most everything else was good Good option in Duluth... And maybe just slightly higher price than comparable sushi places.

Service was good, but the food wasn't good like used to. Before soooooo good. Hamachi Kama was ehhhh, mackerel was overcooked, geso karage wasn't bad, veggie croquettes was ehhh too. But..... Grilled miso Cod is delicious, Green tea ice cream was awesome tho. It was ok but I can go to better other Japanese restaurant for sure.

Yumee Katsu is a modern-style katsu spot, and overall, the food is tasty even though I've definitely enjoyed some dishes more than others. My go-to order is the Assorted Katsu meal, and it's a winner for variety, flavor, and portion size. You get a couple of pieces of shrimp tempura, fish katsu, and pork & cheese katsu, plus the option to add a small side of udon or soba noodles. The fish katsu is light and flavorful, and the pork with cheese is a full-on cheese pull party. I also really enjoy their salad dressing and the dipping sauces that come with the donkatsu and fish katsu- they add a lot to the meal. The ambiance has a nice, modern vibe, and the service has always been friendly and welcoming. A small but thoughtful touch: they offer Asian candies for guests, which is a fun little refresher after your meal. Overall, Yumee Katsu is a great spot in Suwanee if you're in the mood for well-executed katsu in a cool, comfortable setting. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.

It did me because I saw this place on social media and since it's another katsu joint, it must be tried and suffice to say, it's not bad! This location is in the plaza that shares the new Sambong, Gopchang Salon, CowWow, and the BBQ Chicken place off L'ville-Suwanee Rd. If you hit the H-Mart, you've passed it as it's got one of the most unassuming signage you can create. Inside, is spacious. Looks to seat roughly 60-80 heads. It's well lit, has a very Japanese decor to the interior, yet still provides a decent amount of coziness to your table without it being too dark. Now for the food. Being that it's a katsu place, I had to go with their flagship entree, the Yumee Katsu and also pair it with a mini soba which let's me for real, I love how they do soba here. It's not dipping soba which I love. The soba sits in a cold broth of dashi, soy sauce, and mirin which they season with some cabbage and toasted sesame seeds. Now for the katsu itself. The katsu itself is thick. Thick and juicy which delivers an amazing porky flavor. It's also fried beautifully. The crust is crunchy, flaky, and evenly distributed over the pork meat. Yet the fried panko doesn't mask the flavor of the pork which some places tend to do so the panko pork ratio is simply perfect because you get the initial crunch but then the thick pork meat hits your teeth and it's a beautiful marriage of crunchy with the meaty tenderness of the pork protein. They give you their own katsu dipping sauce, some mini cubed radish, two cubes of radish kimchi, and on the plate, a heaping handful of sliced cabbage with a dressing drizzled on top which provides another textural dimension from the fried pork. The katsu plate is $15. Since I added the mini soba which was another $2 then tax and tip, you're looking at at about $20-$24 in order to eat here. Not bad. Definitely worth visiting for a casual hang or even a date and you don't want to do the normal Atlanta date scene and feel like grabbing something different.

I was a huge fan of this place when it was strictly Japanese...and was quite bummed when I heard…read morethey changed this restaurant from Japanese to Asian fusion. In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. If they really don't have any sushi rolls, guess I'd order something Chinese?
