Gave Kings Sushi a try recently. We came on a Monday evening and the restaurant was pretty empty. Inside had a variety of booth and table seating. Seats are clean. The booth seats are very comfy - like memory foam. Lunch AYCE ($17.99) Dinner AYCE ($26.99) Add sashimi is (+$10.99) Overall, it's a decent AYCE sushi restaurant. The food is made to order, which is a nice touch. I appreciate that each roll comes with four pieces, allowing you to sample a variety of flavors. The nigiri was particularly delicious, and we especially enjoyed the aburi tuna and aburi salmon nigiri. The buffet bar offers a limited selection of fruits and cold sides, including kimchi, seaweed salad, clam salad, and edamame. A brand new sushi buffet? Yes, please! It was a bit of a drive from Duluth, but SO worth it--this place is absolutely amazing! As soon as we walked in, the hostess was super friendly and welcoming. If it's your first time, she'll walk you through how the menu works so you're not left guessing (which I appreciated!). The servers are all young, energetic, and super polite--great vibes all around. The atmosphere is sleek and modern--definitely not your average "cheap buffet" feel. It smells fresh, everything looks clean, and the décor is surprisingly stylish. Honestly, I was impressed before we even sat down. Now onto the main event: the food! Nigiri - 95/100: The fish cuts are thick and generous, and the rice is packed with flavor. My top picks? White tuna, red tuna, and salmon--so fresh and buttery! Red snapper and mackerel were just okay, not as fresh as the others, but overall still a win. Salmon Teriyaki - 65/100: Loved the teriyaki sauce and the sear on the salmon, but the fish was a little overcooked for my taste. Maybe I should've asked for it more rare? Also, surprise carrots (not mentioned on the menu), which I wasn't a fan of. Hibachi Combo - 75/100: Steak = perfection. Super juicy and flavorful! The chicken was a bit dry and the shrimp didn't have much seasoning. Next time, I'm sticking with just the steak! Rainbow Roll - 70/100: The fish and rice were on point, but the filling kind of missed the mark. It felt more like basic buffet quality--lacked that satisfying umami punch I was hoping for. Pink Lady Roll - 90/100: YES. This is what a premium roll should taste like! The tempura in the center was fried to perfection--so crispy--and the combo of spicy and creamy sauces was chef's kiss. Loved it. Sushi Cones - 95/100: These were such a surprise hit! The scallop cone is to die for, and the Alaska and tuna cones are right up there too. The fish, rice, and seaweed are all top quality, and the cones really show that off. Salt and Pepper Chicken - 75/100: Flavor? Amazing. Super crispy and seasoned just right. The only downside was that it was already lukewarm by the time I brought it back to the table . Wish they kept it hotter--and maybe added some basil too! All in all, this buffet blew me away. Really like it here for lunch time meals. Prepared quickly, really good variety like other sushi and hibachi places, prices are pretty affordable. I haven't eaten inside yet but noticed it is a clean establishment upon pick up. Not long wait times and able to walk in and get food. read more

Happy to report this is one of the best ayce places ive been to in the area. Space is so clean, ambiance is nice, and the food is better than a lot of non ayce sushi places. Crazy that the food, the fish to rice balance is this great. Service is also friendly and super attentive! read more

Gave this new spot a try and was pleasantly surprised! The nigiri was definitely the standout -- the salmon and tuna were fresh and flavorful. Big thumbs up for the tuna tataki as well. The rainbow roll was good and tasted fresh, though a little heavy on the crab meat for my taste. I wish I'd saved room to try a few more rolls, but I'm not 18 anymore . The miso soup was a bit watery, but that's an easy fix. Out of curiosity, I sampled a few items from the all-you-can-eat buffet, but buffets just aren't my thing -- the options felt a little too generic. On the plus side, the prices were very reasonable. I probably would've paid more for just a couple of rolls at some of my favorite spots in the area. Service was warm and friendly, and overall the experience was great. I'll definitely be back for the nigiri and to explore more of their rolls next time! read more

My friends and I have dined at Kings Sushi multiple times since the soft opening. Fresh food, friendly staff and exceptional cleanliness. The restaurant architecture and design are very impressive and inviting. All of this adds up to an A+ rating. My only suggestion to place your eatery over the top would be the addition of AYCE crab legs to the affair. You could easily charge an extra fee, and the resulting floor traffic would be tremendous.
