Once upon a time there was a bar called the Winedale Tavern. It was a little dive bar on Greenville that you had to really know was there or you'd miss it. (Heck, you could miss it even if you knew it was supposed to be there...and drive back and forth...and back...and forth...looking for it. Not that I'd know anything about that.) The Winedale was a great little dive bar with a fun karaoke scene. We mourned its passing. Then the space was taken over by new owners and it became...the Single Wide. And it was even better. While this place still feels divey, that's manufactured dive. There's nothing sketchy about it. It's a fun (redneck) atmosphere that makes you feel at home...even if you've never stepped foot in a trailer. They also offer karaoke Sunday afternoon (4-8), which has become a bit of a staple for my group of friends. If you like karaoke, it's a good place to sing - it's small, so the crowd never gets so big that you can't get your share of songs. My only gripe with the place is that it is SO tiny. If you want to see people sing, you have to sit at the bar, but then it's not conducive to hanging out between songs, because you're lined up in a row and there's not much room to stand behind people and talk. There are a handful of tables in the back, but they're low tables, so you can't see over the bar well to see the stage. Still, I've been here many, many times and will be back many more. read more

Wait. Did I just walk into the trailer of my Oklahoma childhood? The Single Wide completes its Oklahoma meth house look with wood paneling, dated curtains and tacky wallpaper - I'm in love! The place was busy on Saturday, but I managed to get adequately drunk. The bartenders lack the typical "super hot girl too cool to look interested" attitude and genuinely want you to have a good time. I took full advantage of their trashy posted drinks (and paid dearly the next day)! I can say the Yoohoo Yehaw, Boone's Farm Martini, and Spiked Hot Chocolate are stiff and get the job done. This place was okay, definitely a dive bar. It's pretty much the size of a single wide trailer with animal heads and other random decorations on the wall. There is a small outside patio area to sit or stand, a bar inside to sit at along with a couple of small tables and furniture to sit at in the back. Had a four corners on draft which is always nice but then the keg ran out so my sister only received a pint that was 3/4 full. Great things come in small packages. This is the perfect setting for a night out! Came here because of the Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. It's tucked between a bar and a hard place and may be hard to find when simply driving by. Parking on lower Greenville is a hot mess on Saturday night, so come early!! Walking into the Single Wide is an experience in itself. You're overcome by the compact space and whimsical decor. They keep the air on low, which was relaxing the whole evening. The drinks, oh boy the drinks are very very good and completely strong. The bartenders made us feel at home. They had a DJ spinning some awesome tunes for the first few hours, but then they put the radio on. I was happy that the music wasn't blaringly loud, as most bars like to do. They feature video games on the bartop and a private seating area away from the bar. I recommend this to ANYONE who wants to see lower Greenville. read more

This place makes me regret that I don't live in walking distance... It's a manufactured dive, so it's more of a "dive" bar. Which is to say, it has clean toilets, so it's hard to suspend disbelief. That said, they have done a great job with their chosen aesthetic. - Cheesy velvet paintings - Hubcaps - Trailer-inspired drinks with Tang, Boone's Farm, etc. The bartender was great. The music was good, but that may just be good luck and, frankly, what I consider good music is probably not consistent with a trailer park theme, so we may have been very lucky. It feels like a great place to hang out. I have been recommending my friends try it out, and I recommend you do the same. I had heard about Single wide for the first year of living here but never made it out. It's hidden on lower Greenville, I've been in the area many times and never noticed this place. It's so hole in the wall, non-pretentious and everything you want in a bar. I should have tried the Yoohoo Yeehaw that eveyone was telling me about but I didn't. I promise to next time 'round. They have beers, they have atmosphere...head out, hang out and go meet some new people! Parking is the only downside here...they want to valet everything and street parking is limited. I found some free parking behind Char Bar on the corner of Prospect and Greenville...so, go get a spot! I intend on going back...and to double wide as well. read more

In an era where every business tries to have the newest and brightest decor it's refreshing to see a very chill 70s bar with truly vintage items hanging on the walls. The hubcaps, taxidermy animal heads and vintage table lamps are fun to look at. Definitely try the Yoohoo Heehaw, imagine a liquid adult fudgesicle in a glass. I'm a fan of the Doublewide and since it's owned by the same person, I gave it a try. It's in the same location at the Winedale Tavern and I went there all the time, it was hard for me to go in. Yoohoo yeehaws, hell yeah. I'll have one of those any day of the week. Single Wide is one of the more grungier bars on lower Greenville as well as one of the few bars that stay open until 2 AM. The usual restaurant/bar suspects close around 12 AM. Come on guys, step your game up. It can get insanely crowded inside and outside. There's not a whole lot of seating so be prepared to stand. The interior is dark and mysterious with elements of hipster thrown in. All in all, Single Wide is a solid place for drinks. Definitely stumble your way here after drinking at some other places on lower Greenville to continue your night on. read more

Bartender with big beard was being extremely disrespectful to my group of friends. He mentioned that we didn't buy enough drinks and gave me trouble because I asked for water. We came for my friends birthday and he justified his behavior on account that my group was "too fucked up". I tried to rationally calm him down but he insisted that I immediately leave. I came to this bar with a group of friends on a Sunday night, which is karaoke night. When I went up to choose a song, I was SCREAMED at with f-bombs by the "DJ" to the point where the whole bar stopped what they were doing and stared to see what was going on. Great way to speak to your customers. No one from the bar apologized or told this guy he couldn't speak to customers this way, which was pretty surprising. I'll never go back. Too many other choices where you're treated respectfully and are appreciated for your business. And by the way, there are other "DJ's" they could hire who would treat customers better. I came here on a Wednesday night for free bingo at the Single Wide, and loved the charm and the quirkiness of this bar. Very divery and hipster like. Loved the decor, and the drinks are very creative. I mean come on an acholic drink with Tang...that's awesome! Bingo Night is a lot of fun, and the prizes are pretty cool. This is a fun dive bar with a lively crowd. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed (of course it is the size of a single wide trailer so packed is not that many people). Glad I stopped in and it has a "shotgun house" style to it and it decorated with a good amount of dive bar kitsch. Have had several good times at The Single Wide. My only issue is that the Elvis pinball machine is gone, and I really loved that game. Staff is usually friendly. Alan and Chris are always welcoming. Great, strong drinks with a good price. They let us bring food in from the neighboring restaurants, so we can stay there and keep drinking while we have our dinner. The ambiance is very 70's with velvet portraits of topless women and one of Elvis. Aptly named for width of bar. The drinks are reasonably priced. The specialty drinks called Yoohoo Yehaws have the potential to make you both single and wide (and possibly blackout drunk). Smells better than its DoubleWide cousin. Not a huge fan of noise level and the karaoke will make you wish they had a revolving door as you walk in, so avoid those nights. read more
