    Croquettes

Nice location and atmosphere. Very service. But average drinks that are a little sweet and not strong. Croquettes we're pretty tasty. Mostly just a spot to cool off and refresh. In event of a power/water outage (both happened during our visit) they are a find as they are connected to the hotel and have cistern and generator.

Walked up and they were bumpin great music. We ordered Sangria and the Gaucho Burger and Mahi Mahi. The burger was dope, and tasty fries. Reason for 4 stars was the salt level. I LOVE salt, probably too much, but these dishes were salt lick status. Both bomb, just hella salty. Folks worried bout your "sugar", beware.

Mini Sampler... Delicious sample of local favorites for just $15!

If there were more stars I would award them as this is an absolutely fantastic restaurant! Enjoy the mini-sampler and the cool jazz playing in the distance and you will forget all of your problems. Fast service with a bartender who knows a TON about history and culture!

Delicious lunch of local fare! The snapper bites were incredible- fried but very tender and in a pineapple, pickled onions and hot chili sauce that was a perfect blend of sweet, savory and a little spicy. The rice and beans and tostones are delicious as well. The fried cheese less our thing but tasty and served with a guava sauce. Delicious hibiscus mojito with house made hibiscus syrup, and fresh mint and lime juice. Great stop on our exploring old San Juan

Horrible and a scam. Worst quality. My grilled cheese came in a hamburger bun and shredded bag cheese. And cold. The tomato soup was tomato dip for chips. Will never be coming back.

    Mushroom pizza with Alfredo sauce

Delicious pizza in a pleasant setting with a friendly waiter. The house salad was fine but not amazing. I'd eat here again.

Even I waited for my food for a long time, I still wanna give 5 stars because I understand it was busy in holiday and the cons didn't defeat the pros, the food is awesome, my friend and I enjoy every dish we ordered.

    Outdoor seating area!

Great drinks, good food, cute spot. Great spot--wasn't too crowded and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic first meal on the island

Just in from our flight we ran across this gem in Old San Juan. Just under new ownership, everything was wonderful. The only reason 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the limited seating, didn't bother us but watched a few pass out up because of it. We had a burger, empsnadas and Mahi Mahi. Everything impressed: atmosphere, music, food and the service was great. If you're looking for an authentic place with great food and service that makes you feel like an old friend you have to stop in.

Vegan curry and hummus appetizer. Both were incredible !

The food here was AMAZING !!!! They have great vegan options and I had the best curry of my life!!! The service was fantastic too!

Great location, close to everything, but has an awesome open air patio with good lighting. We had the empanaditas to start which were tasty! Then main course was mahi mahi (this was excellent!!) and the chickpea coconut curry (also very good)! The drinks were also good, particularly the dark & stormy with the IPA (kept it sharp and not too sweet)! Highly recommend

A one hit wonder, the manposteado croquetas are the only thing keeping this joint alive. That and their bartender. Worst chimmi churri

The moment we walked in we felt right at home, very quaint and welcoming. We had the polenta with sausage for appetizer, it's a must try, delicious!! Since I didn't have a reservation, I was asked to write my first name and phone number in a log book, which I happily obliged to. She said, "We will call you once you see our number at 9 pm; for your reservation, please return." It was 7:57 pm, and i had plenty of shopping that I wanted to do; so, I happily agreed to 9 pm. Well, 9 pm never happened because i received no call or text. Maybe I'm too trusting, or it was assumed that, since I'm deaf, I couldn't afford to eat there. Whatever their excuse for not reaching out to me was, it was utterly disappointing, but life is full of disappointments, and I added them to my Yelp list. While Puerto Rico is part of the United States of America, I can't help but feel like the Deaf population here is likely to be taken as bottom-wage earners, so my above-mentioned impression is likely correct. As mentioned in past reviews, a majority of countries that I have visited, apart from most North American and European countries, treat their Deaf population as less than or subhuman, as if the ability to hear is connected to intelligence. These experiences make me appreciate living in the continental United States, where people like Marlee Matlin, Phyllis Frelich, and many others have kicked down doors so we can be seen as equals.

Luckily, there was a gentleman outside directing people in, otherwise we may have walked right past it. Once you climb the two flights of stairs, you're rewarded with a beautiful dining space. The restaurant has a rustic, old-world charm with gorgeous décor and an Italian-inspired atmosphere. It immediately felt warm and inviting. There were four of us dining, and we started with two appetizers: the Setas Rellenas and the Chorizo al Vino. Both were excellent, but the Chorizo al Vino was my absolute favorite--absolutely delicious! For my entrée, I ordered the chicken lasagna. I expected chunks of chicken, but it was made with shredded chicken, and wow--it was incredible. The flavor was outstanding, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals of our trip. My husband ordered the beef lasagna, which was also made with shredded beef rather than traditional ground beef. He absolutely loved it. Our friends ordered the Milanesa de Berenjena and the Milanesa de Pollo with a side of gnocchi, and both raved about their meals as well. Since nearly every table seemed to be ordering pizza, we knew we had to try one. We ordered a small pizza for the table, and each of us had a slice. Now we understand why they're known for their pizza--it was fantastic! A special shoutout to our server, Rouil Rodz, who was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout the evening. Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you. This restaurant is a hidden gem with a beautiful atmosphere, outstanding food, and excellent service. If you're visiting Old San Juan, I highly recommend adding it to your list.

We started with the pastelillo appetizer, they were fried to crispy golden perfection and both the beef and chicken ones were delicious. The green sauce that came with them was herbaceous perfection and we even got some more so that we can dip our pizza in. We got the pie with roasted garlic, prosciutto and pepperoni which was absolutely delicious. The pizza came out hot and fresh and all of the ingredients on it worked really well together and everything had great flavor. The little bites of whole roasted garlic cloves gives you that slightly sweet, caramelized garlicky goodness that us garlic lovers adore. The legal drinking age in Puerto Rico is 18 so my 19 year old nephew was over the moon that he was able to order himself a pomegranate margarita so it was fun to see him experience ordering his adult beverage! Overall we had a really great experience and the bartender was super friendly and helpful in all of the food and drink recommendations. Definitely add this to your next stop in Viejo San Juan.

The sauce ratio, the crust, the toppings, a true perfect blend! I know people don't travel to Puerto Rico for pizza but I had my fill of the traditional food and this pizza hit the spot! The margarita is basic, the pina colada was to be as expected, but the pomegranate mojito was extraordinary! (And really expensive! $13) Overall I really enjoyed this meal but $40 of the bill was food, $35 drinks! Next time I'll skip on the drinks or just get a beer.
