We made our way to Paso Robles seeking lunch. Primal House looked good and had the endorsement of my Yelp friend Randy B. who seems to be the number one Yelp Guru in the area. He was right and this place was really good. Woo Hoo! I got one of their craft beers, "Old Blue" small-batch pilsner. It was great. Our waitress was awesome. She checked her memory bank and said yes other customers also were befuddled that they could not find it. She (The Checker, I Wish I could remember her name too so I could also give her props,) politely asked me if I wanted her to check with Meredith, (the Manager) and I said that would be great, considering I really wanted to help my owner out. Then Meredith not only walked me to were both her, and I, (in the past) found it and she was also befuddled it wasn't there. I thanked her for going above and beyond and proceeding back to the checker. Meredith didn't stop there, she went the extra mile to go into her inventory system, check for the item and confirm the that it was not an item the stock any longer. Being someone that has been in the hospitality and service industry for 39 years I must say that the, 'Smart and Final' corporation should be aware that they have a gem at their store that prides herself on delivering top notch customer service and I hope she gets a raise.

This grocer was my primary source for food but with prices continuing to climb and more and more…read morepeople in the store, I have stopped doing a majority of my shopping here. I like the deli/bakery with all the fresh offerings and a nice selection of charcuterie. Veggies are fresh, not always ripe but quite costly. The price for basil is staggering! As I walk the store, there are certain items I will go there for. Veggies being one and fish, usually salmon being the other. Not a great fish selection, never have bought any of the meat from behind the counter but the packaged section is a bit above average and expensive. I will give Albertsons a lot of credit for the wine selection. It's very impressive with all the Paso offerings, coupled with much more. While I don't buy wine from a grocer any longer, it is nice to know I could find some quality local wine if needed. All in all it's really a below average store for me these days. Limited items they carry that I can't find elsewhere for a price I don't want to be reminded of when I check out. In a pinch, use them but if you are looking to save on that grocery bill I might look elsewhere.
