Chicharron Tacos
Yun-Wen L.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - food service in the back of a market. Huge line that moves very quickly. Ordered asada, al pastor, and chicharron tacos. One of the better tacos we've had in a while a everything is flavorful, tender, and the sauces compliments the tacos well. They were generous with the proteins Ambience: n/a - food is to go only. The market is packed with food aisle very close together. They do have raw meat counters on the side if you prefer to cook yourself rather than to-go food Service: 5/5 - very quick and responsive! We had slight communication difficulties but it didn't cause any issues overall Value for price: 5/5 - quick place with yummy food to go

SO GOOD!!!! Carne asada, Al pastor with pineapple, tripas tacos with red and green sauce, grilled onions and jalapeño underneath

If you're visiting Paso to do wine tasting and want a delicious meal besides what the wineries offer, def come here for their tacos! It's a small little market, you order inside and they give you a ticket. Then you take your ticket outside to the little stand where you'll see the Al pastor spinning and wait for your order to be made. Full salsa bar (MY FAVORITE) with all your fixings. There's plenty of seats as well for you to enjoy your food. There's also food made to order inside the market near the back if you're looking for other options. I had their chicken quesadilla and was not disappointed - plenty of flavorful chicken and it came with sour cream, red hot sauce, green hot sauce, and pico de gallo.

Came by here to grab some Carnitas to nibble on. I have been craving good California Mexican food and wanted carnitas in bulk. Gotta come check out this market...it's awesome!!!

Authentic Mexican Market in the heart of Paso Robles with daily homemade tortillas and a menu to include Specials that are easy on the pocketbook - this is a MUST!! We ordered Special Option 1: 1lb Meat (1/2lb of Carnitas & 1/2lb Chicken) 16oz Rice, 16oz Beans, 8oz Salsa (opted for the hot), 1 pack tortillas and 1-2 liter of Soda for $22.99+tax - $25 - smokin' deal!! Everything was absolutely ahhmazing, staff was friendly, food came out fast and delicious!! Recommend this meal to grab and enjoy on their outside patio so that you can top everything with some of the fixins' - cilantro, onion and radishes. Thanks, La Reyna Market - we will be back on our next visit!!

This unassuming market has amazing food in the back! They cook it fresh to order. I've tried their chorizo breakfast burrito, carnitas, cow head (cabeza) burrito, and al pastor torta. Everything was absolutely amazing. You know, sometimes some places specializes in one thing so you'd have to go to different restaurants for tortas vs burritos vs carnitas. La Reyna Market, however, excels in all of their food items, so it is a one stop shop! I guess this is why they are called The Queen! Their carnitas is so good that we bought a pound to bring home to LA with us. I will be back every time I am in Paso Robles!

Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would find this little nugget in Paso Robles! Good thing for yelp searches! We intended to come here for some authentic salsa to make quesadillas at home, it came to a great surprise. They had an Al Pastore booth add a little restaurant in the back you picked up some salsa and guacamole, and couldn't resist getting Carnitas but don't forget to get the tacos, everything was so delicious and authentic as if I was in Mexico. This place has definitely been bookmarked and it will be a stop for me everytime I'm in Paso.

I would give these peeps 5+, except for one thing, they're tough to give money to! Let me…read moreexplain... we live about 90 miles from S&S, which used to be "J&R Natural Meat and Sausage." Whenever we've historically been in (Paso) town, we try to stock up on their cheddar-jalapeno pork sausage. Folks, the sausage is just fantastic after cooked over an open flame/coal fire. We also relied heavily on J&R Natural Meat and Sausage customer service to resupply us via overnight mail. We did these methods of resupply for years and never had a problem. Then Sinton & Sons took over. We ran out of our supply of cheddar-jalapeno sausage, and I called S&S up. I was assured that the same recipe was being performed for the sausage and that mail order would continue to NOT be an issue under the new ownership. I ordered a small batch of about 5-6 packets, just in case quality had dropped. Days went by and I saw my payment method had not been charged... I called back. Whoops, sorry, we found the order request, it will be handled ASAP I was told. Days pass, no charge. Another call. Whoops! We're NOW out of shipping boxes! We've got the order, and as soon as the boxes come, it will go out ASAP! Days pass, no charge, no box of sausages. Luck would have it we needed to make a trip to Paso anyway, so off to S&S Wifey and I went. Ambiance: I was a little worried when I saw the "J&R Natural Meat and Sausage" was still up outside, and a temporary banner for Sinton & Sons was above the door..... we went inside and found stocked meat cabinets, although a few less choices than before when it was J&R's. But then we found our go-to cheddar-jalapeno and bought some to-go. I've subsequently cooked a couple of them up and the good news is that the sausage is still on-point! We bought a fabulous tri-tip as well, and all the supplies from S&S cooked up nicely and tasted great! I'm hopeful they'll square away their over the phone/remote customer service corrected so we can give them money for more good stuff soon!

Good selection of meats. Bought one of the best ribeyes I've had in a long time. Great staff tooread more

Farm to table, they raise the cattle they serve. We had a pianist playing for dinner, and she was quite good. As to the food, my wife decided to order their BLTA which was bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado for her dinner. It came with a dish of cole slaw, which was emboldened with some jalepeno - very nice! She said the bacon was very tasty and good on the sandwich. I ordered their filet mignon with a side of their smashed potatoes, which were covered with cheese and bacon chunks. The filet was served with a green chimichurra sauce and a combination of sour creme and horseradish. I went all in on the sour creme and horseradish sauce - it was delightful. The steak was cooked to order. The bathrooms were clean. The service was very strong. The abiance her is butchershop/restaurant/brewery. The back bar was set up nicely - they had a variety of alcohol and non-alcohol drinks. Kid friendly (keep them out of the brewery) and just a nice place to visit! It's a bit off the beaten path, so take the time to find it. Also, their beer names - were pretty EPIC.

I've seen the Primal House sign while driving down the hwy. a ton of times but never questioned what it was. First of all, if you're going there to eat, it's a regular restaurant. I thought that being a butcher shop as well that you'd order at the counter and then seat yourselves. Quite the opposite. Though it's not a full bar (beer and wine only, but a great selection) we sat at the bar. I had the smash burger and hubby had the club. Massive serving. I am so glad I got the single patty as it was totally more than enough. Great food. Nice ambiance. Service was impeccable. Fast forward a couple of weeks later and we stopped by to get some steaks to grill. Beef prices are high everywhere right now, but we got some amazing NY steaks that turned out great on the grill. The butcher shop area has a great selection of produce, bread, pre-made meals, local food products and of course, a very good variety of proteins. It feels good to shop and support local businesses. Will be back!

We were at a wine pick up in the village and walked by this butcher store. They had wild boar but ground. I asked about wild boar meat for a goulash/stew. I was expecting a response such as we can keep wild boar for you and not grind it for you because most customers like it ground. I also asked about venison. I explained that I have an online source but prefer to buy local. Rather than telling me they could obtain both for us on special order, we were just dismissed. We pay an enormous amount of money for expedited shipping from Texas. And the meat is not cheap. It's just bad business practice not to cater to local patrons when you have access to "exotic meats".

Bread was buttered. BBQ on the side was Sweet Baby Ray's. I found that the BBQ sauce took away from the sammich, so I did very little dipping. If I come again, which I hope I do, I will order that sammich, but prepared in the same manner in which they prepare the roast beef sandwich. We took some chile verde sausages home to try, and those have a strong and memorable chile taste. For people who do not like spicy, beware. For the rest of us it is a satisfying burn. Wondering if they've stopped seasoning their meat in order to cater to the demographic here in Atascadero.... Especially the carne asada I mean apart from having so much fatty meat, it had no flavor. The service is always great too, just a little disappointing. When I'm talking about flavor, especially for $4 a taco, I expect a hint of garlic, salt, pepper, lime, etc. I expect the meat to be marinated and flavorful. Maybe they already do that, given they do sell amazing carne preparada, but the hot food just hasn't been the same for the last 3-4 times I've gone. I like supporting local mexican businesses so I continue to go but today might've been my last. I don't think I'll be driving from Slo to Suprema Meat Market for their hot food again. The cold and prepared meats are of high quality though so this review is strictly for the hot food. I understand that they need to stay competitive with the market, but the total for 5 bite sized tacos was $22.... That's insane. For $4 a taco, I just expect more. I hope they review this and implement some change! I see that the owner reached out and I appreciate his response. Maybe I'll give it a try again.
